My husband and I own a transport company and are always looking for good home cooked food while on the road. Lady Vee's was everything and more than what we expected. After having eaten on the road for a week this was by far the best food and to die for! We ordered the necks, oxtail, greens and smothered chicken. Portions were large, delicious, tasty rendered down to perfection. We've eaten a few soul food places across a few states and this was hands down the best yet!

I ordered ox tails, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and baked beans. The food was exceptional. I ate off this food for 3 days. I didn't too much care for the baked beans, but everything else was wonderful...oh and try the blue juice it was good 2😊😊

First time trying the food and had ordered the oxtail plate and also the baked chicken plate with the smothered pork chop plate with a macaroni and cheese candy yams greens and dressing with the cornbread and let me just say I am giving this a 8 out of 5 the food was amazing the flavor was there the tender is definitely there on the oxtails wish it would have had a little bit more flavor to the oxtails but overall it was still good the macaroni and cheese was also very delicious only thing I would appreciate it was a little bit more seasoning but I understand why food industry hold back on a lot of seasoning but overall the macaroni and cheese was top-tier amazing okay the candy yams was definitely flavorful it was given what it needed to give you can definitely tell this was cooked with love the dressing oh my God let me just say the dressing is everything all the flavors was there the texture was not too what I like to say mashed potatoes with it was perfect and cooked to perfection definitely going to come back now the smothered pork chop plate was my favorite I'm talking about the flavor busting out the back door everything was cooked with love you can definitely tell the hands that has prepared this food was definitely blessed and definitely was cooking with love definitely coming back for the pork chop pork chop 10 out of 10 the baked chicken just your traditional baked chicken it was amazing nothing too fancy about it the greens were definitely good the cornbread muffin you can definitely tell if it was had some Southern hands on it okay but definitely giving her a 8 out 10 definitely will try again

First time here! Arrived at 11 breakfast is served until 1130. Ordered the breakfast plate no menu or prices posted for Breakfast. The breakfast plate comes with Rice or Grits, Eggs, Toast and a meat of choice. I ordered my plate with no toast, cheese eggs with sausage and a side of bacon. Wasn't a fan of the pork sausage but overall it was good. Loved the rice cooked perfectly. Only issue was that the table I sat at was sticky. Ill be back to try lunch options. The cashier was great to answer my questions. They do have turkey sausage as an option too.

So...I read all of the reviews before I came myself to taste the food, mostly great reviews except for a couple of reviews. One review said the food was bland(no taste) and I can say that's a lie. I don't know who mad the reviewer upset but let's not lie now. I would've gave all 5 stars but the place needs to be updated with new tables, paint, etc. They also have an 99 health department rating, so their really clean. Places like this needs to be where it can get more traffic: hoover, or homewood even. Keep up the good work.

Waited over 30 minutes just for this plate that costs over $17 dollars to have undone meat.. hamburger steak should not be pink..I can see if it was a ribeye or bone medium rare but hamburger steak!! Will not be eating here again.. they gonna get somebody sick!!

If you’re on lunch be prepared to wait. It seems like everything is cooked to order. I didn’t get a chance to experience the food due to the wait time. I suggest maybe do a call in order if it’s allowed. I waited over an hour for them to say they were out of this or out of that.

A no for me, wait was not so bad, greens spicy not everyone like hot food , dressing not good at all, oxtails full of fat, they were falling off the bone which was good, not enough for 30.00, I can say you guys have potential keep at it , give customers a choice of greens, remove fat off oxtails, I can see you guys getting better in near future. Good luck..

I drove all the way over there for my lunch about a week ago, and it was closed. I'd heard good reviews and decided to try it out. I called first to see what was the daily menu, but no one answered. I figured it was because they may be crowded and drove there anyway. NOPE. They were closed. When I googled everything was a go, showing opened. It also shows online they serve breakfast, but nope. I was just trying to find another soul food restaurant to add to my list, but inconsistency is a major turn off.

First off the prices was confusing. I would’ve walked away after finding out I was being charged extra to get a side for a plate that I thought sides was already included. Waited over 30 mins for food and drove 30 mins back home just to realized I wasted 50 dollars for 2 plates. The rice seemed old the food was not seasoned. I was overall dissatisfied.

Waited an 45 minutes for my order, Oxtail, Mac & Cheese, and Greens. I hoped it was worth the wait, I was wrong, mac was bland, greens tasted like 2 days old, and the oxtail ok but no seasoning. They need to give the customer a number for their order, (1, 2 ,3) and call out the number instead of the food items. Some people order the same thing. Need to organize themselves better.
