First time visiting town. My husband and I rented an Airbnb less than 5 min. from this place and we LOVED IT! The food was awesome and the customer service was exceptional. EVERYONE from the regular customers to the staff were so friendly. We had a blast trying to find the Dino for a free dessert. When we visit again, and we will, this will be our first stop.
I have eaten here several times and everything is on point as soon as you step inside. Each time I stop by I have the brisket and it may very well be the best in Texas if not this part of Texas. You can't go wrong here. 👍👍
Our experience at Old 300 BBQ did not disappoint! We have eaten at a variety of barbecue joints in the last week, and we agree that this has been our favorite so far! It’s a cool place, and the restaurant is so clean and nicely run. The line might be long to order, but it moved really quickly. The meats we got were awesome- moist and tasty. We had turkey, brisket and sausage. The sides were all great too! Macaroni is a creamy delight. The fried okra is some of the best you’ll find around! Stop here and enjoy some amazing food!
Loved the atmosphere. My wife, who is not a big BBQ fan, said that it was the best that she has had in a very long time. We had the aukushi brisket, smoked turkey, and regular sausage and a sides of coleslaw and fried okra. Hopeful to try the desserts next time, too full this trip. Will definitely eat here again when we are in the area.
I highly recommend getting the sliced brisket sandwich and paying to upgrade to Wagyu beef. I always order moist brisket and this location did not disappoint! 100/10 would recommend stopping here! All of the sides are also amazing. I have stopped here multiple times and have never had to wait long nor have they ever been out of brisket. Fantastic bbq!
Outstanding BBQ! Brisket was excellent, the cream corn was awesome and the turkey was so tender and flavorful.
One of the best briskets I’ve ever had! I will definitely return next time I’m driving through town. You won’t be disappointed!!
We had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the brisket, which was tender, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. We also tried the turkey, and it was just as impressive: juicy and full of flavor. Honestly, it's some of the best barbecue we've ever had. The place has the feel of a family-owned or hand-crafted BBQ joint, with a lot of heart put into the food and atmosphere. The sides were just as good as the meats. Everything we tried was excellent, and the service was great too. Highly recommended!!!!
I grew up in Texas, which means I love brisket. And I’ve had a lot of it. The brisket at 300 BBQ is amazing- among the best I’ve ever had. We were there at noon on a Wednesday, so we had the Wednesday Willie Special. (that’s Willie Nelson for the uninitiated). It’s a hoagie filled with smoked pork loin, smoked brisket, sausages and it’s amazing. The special part means you get a free side… So we got the coleslaw. The mark of good Texas brisket as you don’t need sauce… There’s sauce is amazing but you don’t need it on the brisket. Great food friendly service really authentic atmosphere. This place is amazing don’t miss it…
Small ish and hidden from mainstream garbage. Brisket options and loaded fries make this place A+!!! Very possible to go broke here, I dropped fifty and could have easily spent another fifty. 10/10 definitely a recommend. Pictured is : top- loaded fries bottom l to r- angus brisket, akaushi brisket, and regular sausage.
Old 300 BBQ! Old 300 BBQ absolutely blew me away! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The rustic Texas charm, combined with the smell of slow-smoked meat in the air, set the perfect tone for a great meal. The food? Incredible. Every bite was packed with flavor — the brisket was juicy and tender, the ribs fell right off the bone, and the sides like patato salad and coleslaw were the perfect complements. You can really taste the time and care that goes into their barbecue. The staff was just as impressive — friendly, attentive, and truly passionate about what they do. They made sure we had everything we needed and went out of their way to make our visit special. Old 300 BBQ is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make this a stop on your list. You won’t be disappointed!
Awesome staff to go along with the AMAZING food!!!! While road tripping through Texas we have stopped at many places for food and Old 300 was hands down the best BBQ we have had in the past week! If you happen to find yourself in the area ans hungry we definitely recommend stopping in!!!
Great BBQ in Blanco on the square. If you ever co through Blanco I would definitely stop and try it. Plenty of seating and very quick to order and eat.
I like it more than Salt Lick, why? Because the food is warm!!! . I would give the place a 5 stars, BUT employees assume you know how the place operates, let me explain, I order my food and two soft drinks, they gave me the cups and guess what, there are no soft drinks!!! If you want cone you have to ask for a coke, but well I had to live with the tea and lemonade, not bad but I wanted a coke from the machine as I usually get in other places. UPDATE: what a flavor fest, they improved client service, I now give then 5 stars overall, happy I stopped by on my way to San Antonio
Absolutely delicious! I was thankful I finally found some good barbecue in Texas, I had been staying down in San Antonio for a tradeshow and everything I had around the city was not even smoked, briscuit, ribs, chicken, didn’t matter, nothing even had a smoke ring, pretty sure it was all baked in the oven. So glad I found this place with real pit barbecue. Everything was fantastic.
Yes sir, best BBQ in Texas. Head out to Blanco and visit Old 300 for an authentic American good time. The fried okra is a must-have for sure. The BBQ meat was super high quality, delicious and made perfect. Super chill vibes, mello country music playin, busy but not crowded. Highly recommended, support local Texas food.
Some of the best bbq I've ever had. We had several people tell us that we could not go wrong picking Old 300 for a meal. I forgot to take a picture of my meal because I was too busy enjoying it. It was so yummy. The Staff was great too. We had a group of 11 at first, then turned into 14 and they went above and beyond to keep our group sitting together. We would definitely go again.
Perfection! This place had a very clean environment, kind staff, and uhmazing food (I know I spelled that wrong, it was delicious). We ordered a few things off the menu to include dessert and it was all full of flavor. The brisket had the most amazing smoke taste with best side seasoning. All the meat melted in our mouths and the Mac and cheese and cream corn was tasty. Banana pudding was sweet and savory. Restrooms were even clean. I much appreciated the sign for women. Must try!
While on travel over the Thanksgiving holiday, I was looking for somewhere to eat between San Antonio and Kingsland. It was only by happenstance that I was on Goldbelly's website, looking for side dishes to take to the in-laws, that I stumbled upon Old 300 BBQ. Since we were pretty much passing right by, we decided to make this our lunch spot. They have plentiful parking, so that is always a plus. Once inside, you order at the counter. The interior is very rustic, as you would expect a BBQ place to be. As it was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we got their special, the Wagyu Wednesday, which is wagyu for the price of angus (I think it was 1.5 lbs of brisket, figuring we could have leftovers in case nothing was open in Kingsland). The brisket was delicious, so flavorful and tender. I know we had green beans for a side, and am sure the husband got mac n cheese, and they tasted great. I love that they had the sauces and all the condiments readily available so you could get what you needed. Overall a great experience and had it not been for them using Goldbelly to ship their food nationwide, I literally would have never known about this place. Great job!
Simply wonderful but disappointed in myself. It's been several years since I have been to Texas. As such, it's been even longer since I've had Texas BBQ. With one bite, I realized all my years of smoking Brisket in FL I’ve learned absolutely nothing. I have been doing it wrong for so long. All it took was a trip back to Texas and just happened along this wo der bbq joint OLD 300. I was so extremely happy to find this place but sad I couldn't share this amazing experience with my family. Amazing food and extremely friendly staff. The Brisket incredible, Jalapeno sausage...perfect, turkey...moist and tender. Just for some perspective, there are German tourists next to me RAVING about how good the sausage is. Nuff said.
The food was soooo good and staff was very friendly. I would have tried dessert, but the line to order was very long (my only complaint). We tried trimmed and marble brisket, turkey, regular and jalapeno sausage. We ordered the family order and had beans and potato salad with it. Nothing was dry and had been smoked perfectly! The sauce was very good. We will definitely be back!!! I really want to try the chicken and okra.
I was on vacation and ran across the Old 300 looking for lunch. I’m so glad I took a chance. This was a fantastic BBQ restaurant to find! The BBQ was wonderful and if I ever get back to Blanco and I hope I do! I will go back and eat there again! Great people and great BBQ! Makes me want to make another eight hour trip to go and visit the wonderful people. I’ve ate a lot of BBQ and I walked away wanting more! I wish it were closer to my home. Thank you for the great experience and FYI, it was worth every penny!
PERFECT Q! Don’t personally read magazine lists for “top” pits, preferring to drive small towns to find and try ‘em ourselves…and have been to dozens. Old 300 is hard to beat! On the Blanco square, really friendly folks, fun Texana decor, cold beer. But the food is the story … moist brisket with wonderful spicy char; perfect char on tender pull apart, not crumble apart pork ribs; jalapeño sausage had great spice and no grease; beans have excellent sweetish spice without being too salty; cole slaw crunchy and fresh but not creamy; beer cold (oh, already said that). Be advised…this is a real BBQ joint where meat is ordered by the pound (or fraction). Don’t hold up the line of hungry folks looking for a two-meat plate. Really can’t find ANYthing negative to mention. 6-🌟?! Definitely stop!!!
We came out to support a local and Aggie owned business. As a member of Austin’s Old 300 really wanted to make sure it lived up to my families heritage. The Akaushi burger with brisket added was as close to perfect as I could imagine. The smoke was strong and perfect for my tastes. I would have got a picture but by the time I got my camera out there was nothing but a little sauce left. There is a 100% chance we will be back. Shoot for a Tuesday if you want a Akaushi burger. Very good!
A fantastic pet friendly BBQ spot in Blanco, TX. I called ahead to make sure I could bring my dog in while ordering, and they said that was no problem. I appreciated it since I was traveling by myself. I held her in my arms, and all was good. The food was delicious! It was the best chopped sandwich and banana pudding I've ever had, and I'm a native Texan. The mac n cheese needed a little salt, but condiments & such are on each table. What a great stop. I can't wait to go back soon.
Old 300 catered our wedding and it was phenomenal. Their bbq is top knotch, potato salad & beans get 10 stars & their cobbler. OH MY GOD melt in your mouth goood
I live in New Braunfels and I always make the drive to Blanco to go to Ol’ 300. The BBQ is great, but the staff is what makes the experience worthwhile. It’s like visiting family when I come. They remember my name and always greet me with a smile. They always ask how I’m doing and make me feel so welcome. This is what other restaurants should do. Annie and Kamie are true superstars there. It wouldn’t be the same without them. The place is always clean, food is always great, and you’re truly made to feel like family!!!!
Awesome & tender BBQ brisket! We also had cream corn and green beans. They offer a selection of either spicy or sweet BBQ sauces to choose from. The restaurant ambience is wonderful and rustic and service is friendly. Would recommend to arrive earlier than later because sometime they are so popular that they sell out of brisket! One of my favorite places for BBQ. Highly recommend!!
Great brisket sandwich, hit the spot on my way back in to SA from marble falls. Pricing is a bit high but not crazy high which I've seen at other places. I paid $17 for a brisket sandwich that came loaded with 1/2 lb of brisket. I did consider getting their wagyu brisket sandwich which has 3/4 lb but glad I didn't, that one cost $27 and it would've been too much for just me. Plus with brisket I've never been able to distinguish between Angus and wagyu anyway, both are great if done right which theirs was.
Have to say that I had a great BBQ meal out at Old 300 in Blanco, Tx. The brisket and beef ribs were very tasty and well worth the cost. All the sides were some of the best I've had at an BBQ restaurant. It's great how much emphasis on flavor Old 300 puts into their sides. The atmosphere was nice and the service was good. I'll certainly be back soon. Highly recommended!!
Delicious BBQ. We shared a large sandwich. Love that the sandwich had multiple meats and the toasted hoagie bun was a wonderfully delicious and different touch, much better than a hamburger bun. The best thing though we’re the onions on the condiment bar!! They were pickled or something but so crisp cold and delicious!! I looked to see if they sold them with their seasonings but didn’t see any to buy.
My husband and I stopped here while passing by visiting family nearby. We were pleasantly surprised at the service and food! Unsure what to try Kammy gave us some good recs. The mac n cheese and pulled pork was our fav! My husband is a sucker for Banana Pudding too. We will definitely stop by when passing through again!
Af first the prices gave us pause but oh I'm so glad we decided to try Old 300 BBQ! From start to finish (the next day, enough leftovers) the food and service was outstanding. The cashier recommended our sides and they were great! The ribs were great cuts, not too fatty and moist. The sandwich was packed full of greatness. The sweet tea was well balanced. Both the spicy and sweet BBQ sauce was great. I see why they ship overnight. I will most definitely be placing an order in the future.
When I moved to Texas 4 years ago. I sincerely thought I'd be eating entirely more put BBQ than I have. So I was super excited to find this place and finally eat they way I had hoped to in Texas. Meat had super flavor and the smoked turkey not at all dry. Tender smokey and oh so juicy
A friend brought some takeout bbq from here. Once I tasted what he brought I had to make a review. This is good bbq. The chopped brisket and sliced brisket was excellent. Tried the potato salad and coleslaw was very good. The order came with spicy and mild bbq sauce. It also came with pickles, onions, and bread.
Friendly personnel & delicious food! We had the brisket, coleslaw, potato salad, & pinto beans. Love the family style concept & you can prepare your leftovers yourself to go. Terrific!!
We made the hour drive from Austin to Old 300 BBQ in Blanco this Saturday, and it was absolutely worth it. I ordered the Saturday special — three mega beef ribs for $52 — along with a half pound of Wagyu brisket ($22). We also added chopped barbecue, two pork spare ribs, and a loaded baked potato. For a family of five (two adults, a six-year-old, and a four-year-old — and I’m a pretty big eater), our total came out to about $130. Honestly, I couldn’t believe the value. The quantity of food we received felt comparable to what would easily cost $300 at places like Terry Black’s in Austin — especially when it came to those massive beef ribs. Even knowing they were on special, it still felt like an incredible deal. But value aside, the quality is what really stood out. This was some of the best barbecue I’ve had anywhere in Texas. The beef ribs were absolutely mind-melting — rich, perfectly smoked, tender, and packed with flavor. The brisket was outstanding, and everything we ordered hit the mark. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in, helpful with recommendations, and the food came out promptly. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant — perfect for a family meal. The portions were so generous that we’ll easily get two or three more meals out of the leftovers. For $130, the amount and quality of food we walked away with was unbelievable. We’ll definitely be back. Old 300 BBQ is well worth the drive.
Old 300 BBQ is a true Texas gem. From the moment we walked in, the service was phenomenal. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming in that classic Texas way. We had the brisket with coleslaw, pickled onions, and pickles, and everything was spot on. The brisket was tender and full of flavor, and the sides added the perfect balance. The pickled onions especially gave it that bright little kick. The BBQ sauce selection sealed it for me. The sweet sauce was my favorite. Rich, balanced, and exactly what I want on Texas brisket. The spicy had more of a vinegar forward bite, which some will love if you prefer that sharper tang. And do not miss the Settlers Wall. It is such a cool touch that adds to the authentic old school Texas atmosphere. Great food, great people, great experience. We will absolutely be back. 🤠🔥
This has got to be one of the best BBQ joints I've been to. The sides, meh, but the meat is to die for. I find myself craving it and I visited about 3 weeks ago lol luckily it is only about 45 minutes away from San Antonio. You know the brisket is made right when it falls apart in your hands and the turkey is insanely juicy. Bravo! Do yourself a favor and hit up this spot!!!!
Wow, what great Texas BBQ. Tried the moist brisket, ribs, sausage, and smoked turkey. All of it was outstanding. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Bbq sauce was tasty. Rustic atmosphere. Really terrific food. Taste was sensational, meats were juicy and cooked just right. Mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw were great as well. Glad we picked this bbq.
Giving a five mostly because of the amazing bbq. We were impressed with their accommodations even on a busy Saturday ….. like iced down beer on the way to the counter in line waiting, extended searing areas, and self serve fixings area.
This was my first Texas BBQ so I actually have nothing to compare it to but I will say that I thought every single thing I put in my mouth was a 10. The tea was sweet, you can have as many pickles and onions as you want, the brisket was done perfectly with all the flavours I ever dreamed of. Good sauces, the Frito pie was sent from above, good banana pudding. Only thing I'd have asked for was a bigger portion!
10/10 not sure how Texas Montgly continues to ignore the amazing BBQ from this quiet unassuming gem!!!! I'll drive 45 minutes from San Antonio to grab a bite!! We'll Worth every penny
It took a minute to get a seat but it was totally worth it. I've tried pretty much all the local joints, and Old 300 BBQ has possibly the best brisket I've had. This will absolutely not be the last time I stop here. The smoked turkey was phenomenal as well, not dry at all.
I rarely rarely give 5 star reviews. This is not done perfectly but it’s pretty damn close. I was in the area looking at property and my realtor took me here. First of all. We went when they weren’t busy so could be different if they are BUT omg 😱 the staff !!! Was amazing. Didn’t act like I was clueless so helpful so kind. Seemed like they liked their jobs. I got chicken which was perfect. Loved the variety of BBQ sauce. Liked that they had lemonade…..sides were really good too. I will be back when I move closer and take pics.
Texas BBQ the way it should be done! Old 300 never disappoints. We always get the sliced brisket and Turkey with sausage. This time we added the pork ribs to our order and they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I might as well just get one of everything next time. They definitely know what they're doing here.
My wife and I were on the hunt for some good BBQ, and Old 300 BBQ definitely hit the spot. We decided to go with the sampler, and let me tell you 1.5 lbs of meat is plenty for two people! It came with three sides, and everything was on point. We went with the mac and cheese, potato salad, and beans, and each one was full of flavor and paired perfectly with the BBQ. The food and staff were both excellent friendly, welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. If I had one suggestion, it would be to swap out the metal folding chairs for something a bit more comfortable maybe some bench seating or padded chairs to match the quality of the food and atmosphere. Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back again. If you’re looking for solid Texas BBQ done right, Old 300 BBQ is the place to go!
TEXAS FRIENDLY SPOKEN HERE. This is a fine BBQ restaurant where the food is expertly prepared and is reasonably priced. We got a 1/2 chicken, chopped BBQ sandwich, a side of beans to share, 6 devil eggs halves, and two drinks for about $45. It was enough food to take some back to our camp site. The owners prominently display the names of the Austin Colony'soriginall 300 families. Among them is the man for whom our hometown of Burnet was named. (He was the first provisional president of Texas during the revolution. No doubt he would have been put to Santa Anna's sword if the revolt had failed.) The place also has an event hall/dance floor that features live music a couple times a month.
Quite possibly the best moist brisket I’ve had in my life. I’ve eaten at all the local joints, Snows, Franklin, and Terry Blacks but this one takes the cake for fatty brisket. I wish you didn’t have to order half pounds. I would have done a quarter pound of multiple things, but just got a half of turkey and brisket. Turkey was very good as well, doesn’t match Snows but they do a phenomenally job all around!
Ribs- Great! Jalapeno Sausage - Good Mac and Cheese- Great! Potato Salad- Not good :-( BBQ Sauce- Decent Service- Great! Sweet folks!! Atmosphere- Old Town/ Old School! Very quaint! Food amount for the price paid- Excellent! Noisy outside due to traffic, so we had to speak up when we weren’t gnawing on rib bones.
My first time here and I’m not even sure what my excuse for not visiting was. This place is so great!! Everyone that works here seems friendly. The beef was not overly salty nor overly smoky. It reminds me of old fashioned Texas bbq, from south Texas where I grew up. The service was a little slow but it seems they cut the meats to perfection, for each slice. I had no idea id be waiting 20 minutes for my food but it was totally worth it. I sample the wagyu and angus briskets. The wagyu as I understand it is only available on Sundays and they close at 3 pm on Sunday. I might be wrong but I made sure to go on a Sunday to get the Wagyu for comparison. Both were excellent. I did like the Wagyu better but not by much. The sauces really complimented the meat here, and I’m impressed with the sauce selection. I make my own sauce too at home, and one of these sauces were just like mine, exactly how I like it (the tomato-y sauce). I could drink that stuff if it was warmed up. Again, reminds me of my family’s bbq from years ago. The sausage was a masterpiece. Very well done and somewhat lean and meaty. I had jalapeño sausage but couldn’t really tell it was jalapeño. But it was very good! Especially with the pickled onions and pickles. I saw those mega beef ribs everyone was ordering and I must say those were bigger than my head. If you like beef ribs this is the place for you. They also had a lager beer they brewed in collaboration with Real Ale, and since I was headed there, I tried it and it was awesome. I love local stuff like that! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here in Blanco, just stopping by town. I’d definitely recommend this place to family (I already have), and I’d recommend to friends so they don’t miss out either! Thanks y’all, and keep up the great work.
Great place in Old Blanco to enjoy BBQ. There're a wide variety of BBQ dishes out of which we ordered Chicken and Pork ribs. Both of those were delicious, the meat was soft and flavorful and well textured. You can add different sauces like hot sauce, BBQ sauce as you need and take some pickled cucumber and onion here. Fantastic, freshly cooked meat- loved it. The ambience was great as well the people who work there are great too- nice and helpful folks! I'll love to go there again.
Food was delicious. The flavor was on spot, and most importantly, it was hot and steamy. The restaurant atmosphere seems country original. Service was fine. You order at the counter and they serve your food at your table. The restaurant was full with customers who seemed to be enjoying their meal. We are definitely coming back as soon as we can.

Wow. Not sure where the lesser reviews for, but can't be for this place. Tender smoky brisket and ribs. Fantastic rub and sauce. Great sides and cold beer.
Laid back BBQ in Blanco, Tx. The crew is very welcoming and helpful with the menu. You can’t go wrong with what you order. To the brisket, pork ribs, baked potato and everything in between. Make sure you save some room for the homemade desserts! You’ll be rolling out the door by the end of your visit.
Great BBQ in this quaint town of Blanco. Why use Goldbelly when you can just drive? Brisket was juicy and they mixed some lean with a great outer skin seasoning. Light on the bread. Mac and cheese was not my favorite. Okra with ranch was crispy and tasty. Sausage was alright. Banana pudding is a must.
Good. Had smoke turkey, beans, and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was great, the turkey was good, but I didn't like the beans. A la carte meats and sides
Wonderful sausage sandwich! I couldn't have expected a better sausage sandwich on a great soft bread bun. The beer was iced in a cooler as you walked in, and your could have your pick as you walked to the cashier looking at the blackboard menu. The basket of fried okra was enough for three people. If there was anything to mention, fix the door knob to the men's restroom.
Update: gave them a second chance, ordered 1/3 pound brisket and half Link sausage, and Three deviled eggs. Not too bad at all. Line was at the door but went pretty quickly, self service with bread, pickles and onions ect. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area. Gave it one more star Gave it three stars only because we got there at 2:30 and they were taking a order over the phone while we were there in person... Drove from San Antonio to try there brisket and sold it to someone over the phone... Kinda disappointed.
Do not ever go to a Texas tourist town after Thanksgiving and expect to eat in a timely manner!! We were working way back to New Braunfels from Fredericksburg. When we got to Blanco, we drove around town Square and saw this place , no lines ,I even parked right in front of the restaurant . Pulled in !! I split the El Jefe specialty sandwich with my husband. It had brisket and jalapeno cheese and plenty of meat ( 1 pound). In fact , I only ate half of mine. It was free french fries Friday. Like all Bar B Q , it was a little expensive , but it was so worth it. We also got the smoked cheesecake , did not taste even a HINT of smoke , but it was an outstanding piece of cheesecake. So I say if you are in Blanco or near it, GO TO THIS PLACE.
The line was out the door, but it moved quickly and it gave us a chance to take in some of the décor details that are unique to this location. Love the surnames of the 300 written on the wall to your left as you wait to order. As an adult who grew up here in Texas I love seeing the many flags that have been part of our history hanging from the rafters. The smells wafting from the smokers was incredible! We chose to go with some of the basics brisket, sausage, coleslaw, and peach cobbler. The meats were all worth a drive back from Houston for a second meal! The coleslaw left us wishing there was more dressing. The peach cobbler was delicious… some of the best we had this trip!
A hill country Texas BBQ location located about an hour drive from Austin in Blanco, has decent sized space inside and outside but could be waiting on weekends during meal periods. The fixing station could be better organized as it could be a very busy hub. The brisket are Angus and Akaushi, got the Akaushi Brisket and Jalapeno sausage. The brisket was excellent, a good rub and very moist and mean. The sausage was missing something but still was decent. Overall a good BBQ location if you are in the area, make a pit stop.
Great place! Customer service was friendly. Environment is peaceful. Food was good. Only reason I gave it 4 star is because the price. This is the most I’ve ever paid for us to eat bbq. They have outdoor seating so we were able to eat with the dogs by us. No regrets coming here and we will be back!
Enjoyed lunch here with an old friend. They are pet friendly if you sit on the patio which we did. The food is good but it would be great if they let you know where to find pickles, onions, barbque sauce, etc. Luckily I had a friend with .e and she knew the place well. They do serve beer which is great on another triple digit Texas day.
Out this weekend to Real Ale Brewery and Distillery and we stopped in Blanco to have lunch. Glad we did, this little gem has an excellent menu of Texas BBQ. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the brisket had a great smoke ring and tasted great. Generous portions of pork ribs, beef brisket in a “sandwich” basically a whole lot of meat in a bun. Highly recommend a visit to satisfy your BBQ fix!
The chopped beef brisket was good. I think it was chopped up a little too much personally but it was still good. The price for a drink, sandwich and one side is $25 each person. I think that is really to high. The place had a old feel to it like your in the country. The played old country music so that was a plus
We were recommended by a friend to try this place out. The time we went was during Market Days on a Saturday afternoon. It was packed and very hot outside. They had seating outdoors and indoors. We spent about $55.00 dollars on brisket sandwiches, sides and drinks. The sandwich seemed like it was missing something. But sides very good and dessert amazing!
ribs and corn were great, got my food very quickly, everyone was nice. Portions were perfect for me
It is as expensive as San Antonio bbq places... and it is nowhere near as good as the average spots. And for it being the only place in town to get BBQ you'd think it would be better.\nIf you are g…

Love when BBQ joints offer wine -especially wine that is $3 a glass. Good ambiance and the sausage link was outstanding.
I ordered a brisket(moist)sandwich, chips, and a small side of Mac and cheese. The brisket sandwich was huge and perfectly smoked brisket. In my opinion it lacked some flavor and needed a heavy dose of bbq sauce to eat. I also added pickles and onions to the sandwich. The onions here are amazing!! I would've preferred more seasoning on the brisket. The Mac and cheese looked more like a casserole with cheese on top. It tasted great but not what I would expect to be called Mac and cheese. The service here was great and there were some hit and misses with the food so I'll have to try it again.
Probably got there at the wrong time of day. They were out of most of their meats. What I did have was okay. Nothing fantastic or memorable. Sides were basic. Just one of those days when I didn't find a good barbecue spot. May give it another try in the future and hopefully catch them when they're fully stocked of food.
We went in because the parking lot was packed. It was very expensive, the beer was expired by 2 months. Everything was sold separately, including pickles, onions, sauce. It was about $20 per person. The BBQ chopped c Beef sandwhich was not pulled it looked like it was run thru a blender. The BBQ was sweet.
We were served cold ribs today. When I told the staff, they were unconcerned. For the price of this food, it could be hot or even warm.

Expensive and the chopped beef seems like manwich. It was in a scoop shape on my bread. Green beans were so salty. I did like the okra. Never again.

Not sure what is going on, but the last couple of times we have eaten at Old 300 BBQ, the ribs have been horrible and the brisket was not good. The ribs were tough and way over-seasoned and the b…
Service was horrible! Every single person seemed to have an attitude or dislike to serve customers. The older white woman at the register seemed so bothered while taking our order. Food: brisket was delicious! We ordered jalapeño sausage and we asked for a sample of it, they said no… well we ordered i, still and we were so disappointed to get dried up jalapeño sausage. Not fresh! The restaurant was clean and nice.
