AMAZING FOOD. 10/10 come here if you’re visiting Staten Island. Preston the bartender was so so nice made a delicious lychee martini and gave us great food recommendations. We got the beef pad Thai, curry puffs, the bean curd w/sticky rice. We left so stuffed and happy. The pad Thai “medium spice” is some serious spice so I recommend getting the chili oil on the side and that way you can control how spicy you want it. Genuinely such a great atmosphere and the decor is really cute too.
Last night my fiancé and I headed to a show at the St. George Theatre in Staten Island and decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood to find a spot for dinner. We came across Chang Noi Thai and decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the bartender and our server were incredibly kind and welcoming. The restaurant was spotless, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was absolutely delicious. We were beyond pleased with our experience and will definitely be back the next time we’re in Staten Island. Highly recommend if you’re catching a show nearby!
This Gem in St. George area of Staten Island (up the block from the ferry) satisfied, we came for lunch on a Sunday (which they close fairly early like 5 but didn’t rush us. They have a seating and to go side. The decor is beautiful all wood with traditional Thailand carving. We ordered the vegetable dumpling which were tasty and the calamari which were thick but good. My friend and I shared a mean with sticky coconut rice (loved) garlic shrimp and veggies which was delicious. We will be back for more.
Very nice place to grab lunch in the area. They allow you to mix and match apps and entrees. Fried shrimp rolls were very good, but the Nam pla is a bit sweet. Curry has a lot of veggies in it, rather than chili, but it still tastes good. They adjusted authentic flavors for local diets and ingredient availability, I think. Decor is very nice and lends to a feeling of a house built with wood from a jungle. Be careful with your step upon entering. Staff are very friendly and quick to take orders and clear dirty plates. The kitchen is working very fast and quick. Overall, a good introduction to Thai food!
I love this place! I’ve gotten take out and have dined in many times over the past 6 years. I moved to Staten Island from Brooklyn and was struggling to find a good Thai place, but Chang Noi became my go to soon enough. The food is very flavorful and fairly priced for the portions. I have brought many people here and everyone has loved it and brought even more people. Everyone is always nice, I 100% recommend!
This is my 5th time here. I went in with my sister and mom. Hands down the best and cutest little Thai place in Staten Island. Never had a bad experience! Most recently, I had their friend calamari and their red curry chicken (Thai spicy). Do not get Thai spicy if you can’t handle the heat. The red curry chicken was amazing and super filling. The server was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend
Favorite Thai restaurant in NYC! The service is impeccable and the food is even better. The intimate atmosphere makes it a great spot for a date. My favorite dishes are the Drunken Noodles, Duck Roll, and Pineapple Fried Rice, though I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried thorough. It is located conveniently in St. George with plenty access to busses, the SIR, and the ferry.
Chang Noi Thai is an absolute gem! Their Thai food is really good!! We ordered the chicken Pad Thai and drunken noodles (the spiciest they have) and they are bursting with authentic flavors. The drinks complement the meal perfectly; the Thai iced tea is a refreshing delight. The best part? All this deliciousness comes at a reasonable price. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Thai cuisine. ❤️ ---
We tried this place for the first time and we're glad we did. My friends and I decided to have an early dinner before watching a concert at the St. George Theatre and we chose to give this place a try since it was very close to the theatre and had good reviews. The place had a nice casual, yet intimate motiff. Very cozy and surprisingly spacious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. For starters, we had the Curry Puffs and the Chicken Stay. Quite tasty. For dinner, we ordered the Larb Chicken, Shrimp Panang Curry, Crab Fried Rice, Chicken Drunken Noodles and the Duck Roll. Everything was scrumptious. They even had a good wine list. We had two bottles of their Malbec. It was an excellent place to start our equally excellent evening. Worth coming back to. If you happen to be in the area, definitely check this hidden gem out.
Hidden gem! A tiny AUTHENTIC Thai restaurant hidden away within walking distance of the ferry. It’s located on a small strip of stores. Prices are very very fair and the food is amazing. UPDATE 5/7/22: They’ve expanded to the right of the original restaurant. It’s now much bigger and beautiful.
We live in lower Manhattan and love to get out of town to eat out. A nice ferry ride and you reach Staten Island. One of the best Thai restaurants in the area is located there. The food is authentic Thai. There are good noodle and rice dishes. The meat is of good quality. The food is very good. The people are very nice. The toilets clean and nice. The prices are cheap. Suitable for families with many children. We would love to come back soon.
Delicious food that's well prepared, a welcoming atmosphere and very good service. It's a pleasant little neighborhood spot that does an excellent job all around - I was particularly impressed by the branzino preparation and even the rice was perfectly done. The appetizers were tasty and freshly made too, and there's decent choice of wine by the glass.
Finally we're able to dine in!!!! And what a beautiful setting! All decorations and finishes straight from Thailand! The new dining area is 3 weeks in an it's perfect, cozy and jus made our dinner even more enjoyable. Tonight we dined on some fried shumai, Drunken Noodles, Basil Duck, Egg fries rice and enjoyed some Thai ice tea. We will definitely be back with the rest of our family. The restaurant is clean, the staff are friendly and attentive and Ms. Gai was happy to greet us and saw us out as we left ,🙂. So happy that we were here!
Went there for dinner with my young men tonight, glad to have found a parking. The place is small and cozy, our server was very patient with me, because I couldn't make up my mind of what to order. My basil chicken, Thai iced tea, sticky coconut rice with fresh mango were very good, as were my kids dinner . Overall, it was a good dinning experience and I will go back. Very good customer service too. Thanks ladies
I don’t like to write unfavorable reviews but as someone who has been eating there for years I think it’s time I write something. I really use to love this place. Honestly it had the best Thai food on the island and affordable! I tried to order on line for a pad Thai with chicken (no extra chicken which is a thing now apparently), and a basil chicken (no extra chicken), plus driver fee, plus taxes, plus tip was about $60!!! So I decided to order directly from them and it came out to the about the same. A few dollars less. We were hungry and exhausted from flying and thought this would be the best option despite the money. The food wasn’t its usual amazing taste instead it was oily/bland and the chicken didn’t really exist on either plate so I guess you have to order the extra chicken for $3 more per plate. Look I know prices have gotten higher and places are trying to conserve their portions but I can’t consider this place for my go to take out anymore. It’s too high of a risk to pay for and not know if it’s going to be good anymore. This was the second time I’ve eaten it within a few months and the quality isn’t what it use to be. Maybe I keep getting bad nights but it’s still not worth the price tag for take out. Hope things change.
Thai restaurant with an authentic decor. My Pai Thai noodles were dry and lacked a savory sauce. Side Raw carrots, raw sprouts and broccoli were served with pieces of lime without any sauce. A fried rice with veggies had a combination of a raw and cooked veggies on the same dish. If you have been in this area this place might be accommodating. Good for a one time experience.
My Wonton soup and my Dumplings were literally to same meat mixture with the same paste, it had no spice, no flavor and they did not even look like dumplings and Wonton soup, even the soup tasted like water. The server was making us feel uncomfortable, he was staring at us all the time and came to us a couple of time just to make random conversation. I would consider this as one of the worst restaurants experience I had so far.
