Talay is a hidden gem for seafood focused Thai cuisine! The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Hormok Talay is an absolute must try! rich, aromatic, and packed with perfectly cooked seafood. The service was just as impressive. Emily went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, also make great drinks. If you’re a seafood lover or Thai food enthusiast, this spot needs to be on your list!
We visited Talay Thai Restaurant in early May for an early dinner around 5 PM, just before the evening rush, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a modern, upscale ambiance—easily one of the nicest Thai dining spots in Central Florida with stylish décor and a relaxing vibe. We started with drinks and tried two of their signature cocktails: Nothin But Coconut and Mango Sticky Rice. Both were refreshing, and perfectly balanced, but the Mango Sticky Rice cocktail was definitely the standout. We also enjoyed a classic Thai Iced Tea which was rich and creamy—just as expected. For appetizers, we had the Por Pia Tod (crispy vegetable spring rolls with sweet Thai chili sauce) and the Gai Satay (Thai chicken skewers with curry powder, cucumber salad, and peanut sauce). Both were excellent choices, bursting with flavor and nicely presented. For our entrées, the Pineapple Fried Rice was fragrant, colorful, and generously portioned, but the star dish was the Pa Nang Scallops (Seared scallops in Pa Nang curry, kaffir lime, Thai chili, coconut milk), —seared to perfection in a velvety Pa Nang curry sauce. The flavors were bold and authentic without being overpowering. Overall, we were impressed by the quality, presentation, and thoughtful service. Talay Thai is a must-visit for unique Thai cuisine lovers and anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Orlando. Highly recommended!
The raw oysters with topping it with the green sauce and fried garlic that it comes with, was the best oysters I've ever had. Beats cocktail sauce and tabasco any day. The Chilean seabass entree with the savory and lime bathed sauce was amazing too. The tom yum was good but not traditionally what I'm used to. It was creamy and didnt have that taste of lime. The pita and green sauce was good.. something about their spicy green sauce hits the taste buds with satisfaction. Their old fashion was delicious and I enjoyed the dirty martinis. Service was awesome. Friendly staff and made great recommendations based on the flavor profile I was seeking. The atmosphere was romantic and modern. The tables were a little small but it made for more of an intimate environment. There is also a lot of bar seating. They have a cute outdoor seating area too. All in all, will definitely revisit to try some more things!
Best Thai food on Orlando. Service and atmosphere were also top tier! We got the Pla Tod Yum Ma Muang (Fried snapper bites) which was amazing. Came out right out of the frier with fresh spicy green mango salad that you dump on top. Hard to even describe how good it was. The Pad Thai is a classic and hard to go wrong with as well. Super flavorful - yet safe bet!
First experience at Talay and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Everything from the ambience, the service, drinks, apps, and the main course goodness I’ve never enjoyed a night out as much as I did tonight! Big thank you to the chef for the amazing, heartwarming food. And a big thank you to the bartender, I ordered the “Dragonfruit De La Rose” and it was so perfectly made with a nice balance of sweetness and liqueur. The staff was so kind I appreciated every moment of being there and will definitely be coming back!
I love Talay! I get take out for lunch all the time, with my go to being the classic Pad Thai with chicken. I finally went in person for my birthday dinner and absolutely loved it. The coastal interior is a pretty backdrop for the authentic Thai food. I had the Yum Woon Sen Talay which were blue glass noodles with a mix of seafood. Everything was cooked to perfection and the scallops were butter soft. The overall flavor is light and refreshing. The crab fried rice was also excellent. There was a decent amount of lump crab and a spicy sauce to go along with it. For our appetizer, we had the Roti. The green curry is creamy with a kick. I would say there weren’t really enough pieces of Roti for the amount of curry, so I just ended up eating the rest with a spoon.
I had a fantastic meal here! The food was fresh and flavorful—the oysters were incredibly fresh with a perfect sauce, the Pla Tod Yum Ma Muong had a great balance of sour and spicy, and the Yentafo soup was both sweet and spicy. I also loved the guava cocktail, which was a delicious mix of sweet and salty. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
The experience here was amazing. From the moment of entry, everything just catches my eyes. Then the service was so personal. Faya gave us a tour of the food here and its history from the original meaning of the food. I learned from the history of Thailand and the meaning of the name of this restaurant too. The food was the most amazing thing! The salmon curry was just chef kiss! No words can describe how flavorful it was.
This place is a hidden gem thus far. It’s located in downtown but not much parking around the restaurant so this may be the deterrent for people to come here. But the food is amazing and definitely worth the drive and trouble to search for a parking space. The service is good depending on which server you get. Usually they are very accommodating and hospitable and will adjust any dish as required. And quite honestly, one doesn’t have to adjust much of anything as each and everything we tried was simply delicious. The ambiance is clean, cute, modern, and quiet. You can have a business dinner, romantic dinner or family dinner comfortably.
We came to Talay Thai Restaurant for an early dinner date. The service (Racha) was genuinely attentive — friendly, fast, and perfectly timed. We ordered the Seafood Tom Yum, Salmon Chai Nam Pla, Sua Roy Hai (beef), Hormuk (seafood curry), and Keaw Wan Roti, and Thai coconut ice cream with bun, every dish came out quickly and bursting with flavor. The presentation was beautiful, and the freshness of the seafood really stood out. Each plate had that perfect balance of spice, sweetness, and authentic Thai! easily one of the best Thai meals we’ve had in Orlando. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend!
Fantastic food! I haven’t had Thai in a while so this was a great way to dive back in. i made sure to try something new and I don’t regret it. I would recommend and I will be back myself. Our server was Faya and she was really sweet. She was also great with answering questions and making recommendations. Explained everything so well.
Haii this is Natcha ! I’ve finally found THE BEST THAI RESTAURANT in Orlando. Everything tastes like home, and they make sure I never leave without a smile. If you want to impress your date, bring them here. Trust, I don’t write many reviews but this had all the qualities for a Michelin star. Hospitable staff + service (thank you P’FAYA), authentic cuisine 🇹🇭, great ambiance ✨, plenty of seating, and overall clean environment. Thank you kaaa 💞
I’ve been here several times and the food has been fantastic every time. Definitely within my top 3 Thai places in Orlando. The cocktails both at Talay and Noir are very creative and delicious. I highly recommend the papaya salad, salmon, and coconut ice cream with sweet buns. A fantastic addition to downtown eats
An absolute gem of a restaurant. Every course was so good with such interesting flavor profiles that we couldn't help but keep ordering so we could try as many things as possible. Faya, our waitress, was so delightful with many thoughtful suggestions and an excellent eye for detail. We will certainly be returning and highly recommend.
First time eating at Talay, and it definitely won’t be my last! Food was so delicious and the mango sticky rice cocktail was absolutely to die for. Highly recommend the salmon and duck curries which were perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. Staff was so sweet and the atmosphere was extremely cozy. Can’t wait to return!
Upscale Thai food is having a moment, and it's so exciting to see. A new place just opened a few weeks ago and is already getting rave reviews for its elegant atmosphere. Apparently, the dishes are incredibly creative and beautifully presented. It sounds like the perfect spot for a special occasion dinner. I'm definitely adding it to my must-try list!
After being blessed to eat at some of the finest restaurants anywhere and Thai being my favorite cuisine, Talay has the best Thai inspired food this side of Bangkok. The food is just plain out of this world delicious! I've had the pleasure of eating most everything on the menu and every dish is better than the last. Also the prices are shockingly reasonable. The owners pay a lot of attention to the small details and the entire restaurant is beautifully decorated with a very inviting and comfortable vibe. The entire staff is very friendly and courteous. But wait! The word is that they will have their liquor license in the immediate future and will be selling a variety of LA and New York inspired specialty drinks. They will also have a very cool secret lounge. You will not regret finding your way there.
To begin with I’m Thai myself and this is my first time in Orlando. I’m looking for Thai restaurant and I believe this is the new gem in Orlando. The food is deliciously authentic coming from a Thai person. The ambience and service are really extremely amazing! Recommend for you to try it at least once and you’ll enjoy it!
Great place! Beautiful restaurant. Very chic and modern. Racha was a great server, very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu items. We were seated right away on a Fri night, which was awesome, even though they had an almost full house. The food here was very unique. My favorite was the fried snapper rice dish (Pla tod yum ma muang). We also had the Hor mok Talay, Roti, and the Som yum Thai dishes. So delicious! See pics.
First time trying Talay and I loved it. I had the duck topped with crispy basil from their featured menu. It was excellent! The atmosphere is amazing with a unique layout and soft colors & lighting. It was warm and inviting but also modern. Service was top notch.
Food was excellent. Crafted very well and you get a very high end feel with the offerings. Prices are reasonable for the quality of bother food. Service was great. The chef brought out the food and gave his recommendations and told us about his recipes. Awesome touch. We didnt have reservations and had to sit at the bar but it was just as good if not better as we were alone at the bar and felt like we had more privacy. Very nice place!
The food was amazing, and our server Faya was even more amazing! She made sure we were oriented around the menu even though it was our first time here, and made the experience that much smoother and enjoyable. The seafood is incredibly fresh, the noodles were wonderful, and the oysters were delectable.
Best Thai food in Orlando, so fresh and a unique take on traditional Thai food. Get the glass noodle salad! Everything is delicious, cocktails are fun & surprising, and the vibe is good! Service is pretty good - sometimes slow & they often save random tables and won’t allow you to sit where you want. Food is worth the trouble though!
The food at Talay is amazing. I came with a party of 10 which allowed me to try several of their dishes. All were good but the mango sticky rice is a must have. If you're looking for heat you may have to work with the chef. It wasn't that spicy. I also wish the wings were coated in the sweet chili sauce instead of it being on the side. We had a good time.
Faya was our server and she was incredible, always checking up on us and making sure everything was to our satisfaction — it was! We started with the Mango Sticky Rice and Tangy Tamarind Temptation signature cocktails which were to die for. We had the Tod Mun Goong (shrimp cakes) and oysters which were absolutely incredible, the oysters were served with a mignonette and it is quite literally the best sauce I have ever had paired with oysters. The finale was Pla Tod Yum Ma Muang (fried snapper) and Pa Nang Scallops which totally blew us out of the water! Unfortunately we devoured evening too fast to grab a picture so you will just have to come check it out yourself!! We will definitely be back but for now — we are heading to the speak easy next door!!
First off, this restaurant is gorgeous! I went during the beginning of dinner service around 4:30 and when I walked through the door I was wowed by the interior. Lots of nice natural sunlight coming through the windows lighting up the inside complementing the light wood and neutral colored interior. Very spacious with plenty indoor and outdoor tables as well as bar seating. I was served by Kay who was very kind and explained the menu very well. He gave me great recommendations and these are the ones I ordered: 1. Keaw wan roti - pan fried roti bread, green curry dipping sauce 2. Yum ta krai salmon - lemongrass salmon salad, Thai chili, mint, onion, lime dressing 3. Hor mak talay - mixed seafood in red curry custard, egg, kaffir line, rhizome, Thai basil, coconut milk Everything was very tasty! Would love to come back with some friends and try more food and drinks and check out their speakeasy Noir as well!
Fantastic new Thai restaurant in Orlando!! The decor is classy, gorgeous; love the ocean theme. I had the special seafood with red curry custard, which was delicious and packed with a lot of seafood. The specialty cocktails are also incredible. Our server Faya was incredible, very politely and helpful.
Everything was really good and our server Racha was really nice. We got the raw oysters and shrimp for our starters, the oysters were really good, and the shrimp was okay, that's probably just me though. We got the Pad Thai with shrimp and their Salmon red curry (this was the recommended curry) that was probobly my favorite dish. For dessert we got their mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream bun, but very sweet and refreshing :) 10/10 would recommend
Faya was the best server! She was so sweet and attentive! Honestly, the whole experience from the moment we walked into the restaurant was amazing. The ambience is incredibly romantic, the food is divine, the drinks are strong and delicious. Lots of wonderful vegan and vegetarian options too! Great success!
Went for early dinner and the food and service was amazing. Faya our waiter took the time to explain some items on the menu with genuine smile. Her hospitality and service was superb. Food came out steaming hot with amazing seasoning. We ordered Passion Fruit drinks and was personally prepared by Faya and it was delicious. Definitely returning.
Talay has become my new favorite local Thai restaurant. The atmosphere is cute and cozy with a modern pastel interior design. The menu is easy to read and has peanut allergy warnings labeled next to certain dishes. As for the food, it is authentic and flavorful with hints of spice in certain dishes. The drinks are also flavorful and the presentations elegantly executed. The staff is extremely polite and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, I was impressed.
Usually higher priced meals have to do more with the vibe and decor than the quality of food. I was floored!!! This meal was top of my list in 2025. Holy smokes. Everything was extremely delicious. I preferred the rice over the noodles but my party of 5 was satisfied with everything we ordered.
My husband and I went last weekend and had a great time. The atmosphere was really nice, and the food was delicious! We tried the half dozen oysters, grilled picanha, and the creamy calamari and shrimp stir fry. Each dish had such fresh and vibrant flavors. Definitely looking forward to coming back!
If you're looking for the real deal in Orlando, this is it. The menu boasts a fantastic variety of options, all prepared with high-quality, fresh ingredients that stay true to traditional Thai roots. Every bite was vibrant and well-balanced. Topped off with wonderful service and an unexpectedly great coffee. This was a great experience.
Delicious seafood-focused Thai fine dining, what’s not to love?! We arrived after dark and the place still looks stunning; I can only imagine how beautiful it is with sunlight streaming thru all the windows, or while sitting out on the patio. All of our food was really good, especially the Khao Pad Pu (crab fried rice) which had a very generous (and in my opinion, correct) amount of crab on top, and we left very happy. The service was also excellent, and we were told they should have nice cocktails available in about a month (still waiting for the license) — we will definitely have to return for that!
We dined for a birthday celebration and it was so perfect. From the delicious smells that hit you when enter , the amazing food and service provides a perfect night The food is so fresh and flavorful. All 3 dishes were so good. Our server Falay was such a delight. She was so helpful in menu selection and picking perfect dessert for bday celebration. She helped make the night so special and we really appreciated her kindness and that genuinely wanted us to love everything and we did. Can’t say enough how delicious food, amazing service and perfect atmosphere. Will definitely be going back
We had an amazing experience at Talay! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing, making it a perfect spot for a great meal. Our server, Faya, was outstanding! She was very friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. She truly made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Talay to anyone looking for great Thai food and excellent service!
A Hidden Gem for Thai Food Lovers! Ocean Deco is an absolute delight — not only is the food full of rich, authentic Thai flavors, but the setting is just as impressive. Every dish we tried was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Our server Faya was incredibly attentive and friendly, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable!
Talay is an excellent Thai restaurant, and definitely worth visiting. It fuses authentic Thai flavours, with modern presentation in a sophisticated yet unpretentious atmosphere. It's upmarket, but doesn't feel stuffy - you could go there for a date, for a casual dinner with a group of friends/family, or (as I did) as a solo diner. The food had amazing flavour and the service was polite, attentive and genuine. The menu is geared more towards seafood, although there are meat and vegetarian/vegan options available too. I had the papaya salad, which I asked for 'Thai spicy', and they delivered on that front. Absolutely outstanding. I also enjoyed Hoy Jor, a crab and pork mixture, fried a bit like a dumpling, which was delicate and sweet. I followed that with a scallop panang curry, which was coconutty and high quality. The meal demonstrated the amazing balance that Thai cuisine is known for. For the price, I'm not sure you can get better. 10/10 would definitely return.
This place was AMAZING! The atmosphere, the food, the cocktails... just incredible!!! We had the crab claws for an appetizer, they were great!! Can't wait to try the spring rolls next time! I had the Sea Bass which was SO filling and delicious! Much husband had the snapper, definitely pour the mango sauce on before you eat it or it might seem dry but with the sauce it was GREAT! The cocktails are strong so you definitely get a bang for your buck! HIGHLY recommend!!!! We're coming back for lunch tomorrow!
Food was great, probably some of the best I've had. Price wasn't two bad for two people and a drink each, 2 apps, and 2 entrés spent about $100 total. The shrimp fresh rolls were so good and the sauce was refreshing and a hint of spice. The plum sauce that came with the shrimp app was amazing. We also tried some classics. The chicken pat Thai and the green curry. The green curry was spicy and was served with a small amount of rice which was perfect and had a good kick to it. The drinks were very good over all and we will be coming back again.
This is one of the most delicious Thai restaurants I have ever been to! The vibe was perfect and it feels very upscale. We had a party of 4 and we ordered everything to share. Started with the roti with green curry dipping sauce, which was delicious! The Tom kha was a large portion and easy to share, along with being perfectly balanced and flavorful! The scallops were amazing and we ordered rice to accompany the sauce. The standout apart from the soup was the shrimp pad Thai. We also ordered some Thai fried rice, which had a nice mix of everything. For dessert, the mango sticky rice was absolutely perfect! Their Thai tea was great, and we hope to try some of the delicious looking cocktails next time. We will definitely be back!
I've been coming to Talay for lunch with a friend for months, and I just have to say—this place is fantastic! The food is consistently delicious, from their amazing lunch specials to their incredible drinks (get the Thai tea!). I love that I can customize the spiciness every time. My personal recommendations? You can't go wrong with the coconut soup (Tom Kha), but for me, the Pineapple Fried Rice is where it's at—it's an absolute must-try! On top of the great food, the service is wonderful. We've had Jojo as our server several times, and she is always so friendly and attentive. It’s true that it isn't the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for in quality, and I've left satisfied every single time. If you're looking for a new lunch spot, you have to give Talay a try!
This is my first time at this place, and I can confidently say it’s become my new favorite spot in Orlando! The food is delicious, the quality, and the portions are generous. And let me tell you, the shrimp are massive! They’re even longer than my index finger! 😂 My server, Amp, was incredibly sweet and kind.
On Friday, I went for the second time to what I would say is one of the most impactful restaurants I’ve experienced when it comes to Asian flavors: Talay. It’s a Thai dining concept, and I decided to bring some friends who are also chefs so they could try what had impressed me so much the first time. Once again, we left equally amazed. The drinks, the atmosphere, and the overall vibe are excellent. The décor is beautiful, and the food is truly outstanding. We ordered the roti bread with green curry, the shrimp pancakes, and the spring rolls. For mains, we had the snapper, the sea bass, and also tried a seafood mix that was simply incredible. Everything and I mean everything at this place is excellent. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the service. The food and ambiance have all the makings of a Michelin-level experience, but I feel the staff’s attentiveness could be elevated to match the quality of everything else.
I had such a wonderful experience at Talay Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish tasted amazing and looked stunning. The atmosphere was lovely, modern, clean, and relaxing with great lighting and decor that made the whole dining experience even better. A special shoutout to Racha, my server, who provided excellent service! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Thai flavors with a stylish, comfortable vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🌿🍲✨
Our first time visiting Talay and it was amazing. Truly authentic, delicious Thai food set in a modern atmosphere. Our server Racha was so kind and knowledgeable, giving us recommendations and explaining everything so well. The fried snapper is a MUST try. The mango salad that comes on the side is the best. We will definitely be coming back.
Went there earlier this week; ordered the fried pork/crab, coconut ice cream bun, some noodles, & a salmon curry. I really appreciate how the aesthetics of the restaurant all match including the staff uniforms. I also really like how there's acoustic paneling everywhere including the ceiling so other table conversations aren't heard across the restaurant. The food was extremely good- the noodles had a very nice/unique soft chewy texture and the curry was very fragrant with lots of saffron. The appetizer & dessert were good too.
My afternoon visit to Talay was so lovely. The ambiance is very quiet and beautiful, mid century neutral relaxing tones, chill music playing, lots of natural light. The food is so delicious. Got the Thai iced tea which was perfect, the shrimp spring rolls with a yummy spicy sauce, and the chicken satay. Racha, my server, was very attentive and sweet. There is also a speakeasy that opens at 5pm which I will definitely be coming back to check out.
Wonderful Service at Talai Restaurant I just wanted to share a quick note about the wonderful service we received from Faya at the Bar during our visit to Talay Thai restaurant in downtown Orlando. Faya was incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming from the moment we sat down. She took her time explaining the menu to us and really helped educate us about the different dishes. Her recommendations were excellent, and it was clear that she truly knows the menu and cares about helping guests have a great experience. She made our visit feel special and relaxed, and her positive attitude really stood out. Please pass along our appreciation to her for providing such lovely service. Thank you for a great dining experience!
Finally made it to Talay! Absolutely incredible fresh, flavored fish forward menu - right up my alley. Cocktails were beautiful and bright as well. The vibe of the restaurant is great with the high ceilings. They have a tucked away speak easy cocktail bar as well which we will pop into next time! Highly recommend if you like flavor & spice! Something on the menu for everyone.
Absolutely delicious food! We sat at the bar and the service was kind of a little slow, but that’s not the bartender’s fault at all considering she was making drinks for the bar and tables and also taking care of both bar guests and guests sitting at tables. Other than that the food didn’t take too long to come out once ordered. Everything from the aesthetics of the place to the food and drinks were amazing.
I had such a great experience here! Our server, Faya, was absolutely amazing—so attentive, friendly, and spot-on with her recommendations. I tried the Pad Thai, roti with curry, vegetable spring rolls, and a passion fruit mocktail, and everything was delicious. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. Faya really made the meal extra special with her warm service and attention to detail. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Talay Orlando completely exceeded my expectations! Every dish was beautifully presented and full of authentic Thai flavor, everything was cooked perfectly. The appetizers were delicious (especially the dumplings!) and the drinks were refreshing and creative. The space is elegant yet cozy, and the service was super kind and attentive. Definitely one of the best Thai dining experiences in Orlando!
I was thinking of boycotting because I loved City pub that used to be there lol, but this place was amazing, so glad I gave it a try! My friend got the Goong Ob Woon Sen and loved it, I got the Gai Satay, the chicken was a tad dry, but it just made the sauces taste so much better! We also got the Keaw Wan Roti appetizer which was phenomenal!! The ambience was perfect, good acoustics, you can actually hear the people you’re with! The service was perfect! So nice to have a wonderful Thai place in downtown Orlando!
Talay Thai Restaurant in downtown Orlando is absolutely outstanding! The food truly tastes like what you would eat in Thailand—authentic, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Every dish we tried was delicious and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. The drinks were just as impressive—beautifully designed and incredibly tasty, making the whole dining experience even more special. The presentation, flavors, and atmosphere all come together perfectly. If you’re looking for real Thai flavors with amazing drinks in downtown Orlando, Talay Thai is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
Came here with my best friend who was visiting from out of town. She works in the restaurant industry and said this is the best Thai food she has ever had. My daughter and I agree. It was amazing! Great atmosphere, great service…(thank you Racha!), and the food phenomenal! Will be back to try new menu items!
My recommended dishes are the lump crab meat fried rice ($26 plus tax) and the summer rolls ($11). The pan-fried roti ($6) and the glass noodle salad ($23) are worth trying. The marinated cuttlefish can be passed over because of its preparation made it chewy and rubbery. The spicy sauces (for dishes like the glass noodle salad) are served on the side and can be added according to taste. The interior is the biggest draw. It’s a cool, sexy space.
The food at Talay was absolutely delicious — fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. But the service was a major letdown. The staff seemed rushed and made us feel like they wanted us out as quickly as possible. It completely took away from the experience and made it hard to actually enjoy the meal. Great food, but the way we were treated really soured the night.
Food was delicious, we had 3 different dishes and they were amazing! The service part, they definitely need to improve, from the entrance there's no host, I had to ask the lady in the bar for assistance. They also don't have an actual bartender or maybe she is but she seemed very overwhelmed, all of the servers actually looked kind of like they couldn't handle one table but well, atmosphere and taste of the food made the night pleasant.
Talay was a solid hit. The roti canai came out flaky and buttery, perfect for dipping. The beef fried rice was well-seasoned and comforting, and the beef red curry had great depth with just the right amount of heat. Bonus points for the vibe... there’s a hidden speakeasy in the back called Noir, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you want good food with a little surprise tucked away in the back. In my opinion, Talay is Top 3 Thai restaurant in the Orlando area
While the quality and taste were very good, the portions were pretty small for the price, and the service was slow. Decor is beautiful, and the space definitely feels elevated. I also liked the concentration on seafood. However, paying $29+ for a panang scallop where 3 scallops are sliced in half in a panang curry with no vegetables is not worth it. Drinks are good. Service was friendly. I'd be willing to come back to try more dishes, and hopefully they'll have made some improvements.
The food was delicious, but the portions were quite small for the price that you are paying. Additionally, some of the dishes, like the tom kha and som tum thai were a bit too sweet. Faya, our server, was very kind and provided excellent service! The service was great and the atmosphere was very beautiful.
I really enjoyed our meal. Food was delicious. They make great cocktails. The space is great and is in a nice location. Unfortunately the service is just cold and unfriendly. I hope the restaurant does well here because the chef and bartender are true professionals. We booked on open table for an anniversary meal and nothing was said or acknowledged. We drove from Davenport to dine here. This said, I would dine hear again in a heartbeat. I strongly recommend dining here if you like Thai. That said, front of house needs extensive training, or they need to hire wait staff that are friendly and capable of faking they care about guests.
I really wanna give this place five stars because I loved the food. Each dish I had was great, including the dishes my friends ordered that I was able to try. That being said, there are some issues. The staff was very accommodating to my party. A few people were running late and they were able to reschedule our reservation an hour after the original booking, despite it being a very busy night for them. It took a while for a server to come greet us, but I won’t make a big deal out of it since it was extremely busy. Our server was nice but she literally did not bring us water until like way after we got our main course 😭 Those of us who did order drinks did get them relatively quickly though. However, the biggest issue was not our server, but the staff member who was bringing out our food. We can tell he was in a rush due to the volume of guests. Although, he was rushing so quickly that when he brought out my friend’s dish, he practically dropped it onto the table while placing it down. He dropped it on top of her red alcoholic drink and it literally got all over her lap and the table. The worst part was him just rushing off, he didn’t even apologize to her. Sorry is literally a universal saying. It was such a poor experience for my friend. I think he placed down some napkins and then our server also brought more napkins. However, she did not witness the incident. I guess when we attempted to tell her what happened and requested a complementary drink, she didn’t quite understand. I am unsure if it was a language barrier or volume issue. She assumed that my friend spilled it herself and brought her another drink, however, my friend was still charged for it. Very unfortunate. My friend was already sad and she didn’t have the energy to fight it. I wouldn’t let one poor incident on a busy night stop you from going to the restaurant. I really enjoyed the food and would return.
This Thai restaurant never disappoints! From the first sip of their Thai iced tea to the last bite, everything was delicious. The chicken were perfectly crispy and juicy, and the Thai soup was warm, flavorful, and incredibly comforting. You can really taste the freshness and care in every dish. It’s the kind of place you keep thinking about after you leave. Definitely a go-to spot for good Thai food!
Went for lunch today. Can't understand how you have such a nice place in downtown busy Orlando and only have 2 servers there for lunch time and it must only be one chef. The server was greeting, cleaning tables, doing billing, drinks and delivering food. She got my order completely wrong and was totally unapologetic. Food took forever to come out due to what must have been a short staff situation in kitchen also. I saw a guest from two tables outside have to come inside and ask her for their bills because they had to get back to work. Just poor service all around but the food was ok.
If I’m being blunt, this place does not live up to expectations. From reviews and promotional videos, i expected much more but that might’ve been a mistake on my end. From the moment we walked in, we waited for a good 5 minutes before anyone even attended to us and she asked people who came in after how they needed help before us. Not unreasonable if she had not seen who walked in the door first but she had escorted two parties to their table when we were standing there waiting for her to come back. Not even addressed with a “ Oh, I’ll be right with you “. Felt awkward and distant from the beginning. The ambiance was nice but the lack of care had already started to leave a bad taste in our mouths. Once sat, another 20 mins had passed without a waiter. As we’re deliberating from the menu options, our waitress came to ask about the drink options and scurried away right after as if she was too busy attending other tables. We looked past it because maybe the food was good. We ordered the Keaw Wan Roti which, portion wise was relatively small for price but the curry was decent, a little sweet personally but the roti was more like a warm tortilla than what a typically flaky roti would be like. The second dish we ordered was the Goong Chae Nam Pla, which was a raw shrimp dish in a cilantro chili-lime sauce/dressing was the only redeemable dish of the night. It was actually quite good and flavorful. The sauce complimented the shrimp beautifully. Which i can’t say about the next dish, the Tom Yum Nam Kon and we opted for the seafood option. The creamy Tom Yum soup is actually the most distasteful dish of the night, no aspect of it reminded me of a normal Tom yum soup. The soup gave off an overly sweet tomatoey flavor that wasn’t too pleasant nor expected for your typical Tom yum soup with coconut cream. It also had a pugent fish flavor even though we ordered it with seafood, it shouldn’t mainly taste fishy. The next one was the Sua Rong Hai was the grilled Picanha. I can’t fathom how anyone could chew through it without exhausting their jaw. We asked for medium rare and clearly, was not done to our liking. It was bland, and sauce did not compliment it. The last dish that came out was the salad which had cellophane noodles and seafood. Bland is all i can say about it even with the sauce provided. Nothing exciting but maybe the blue glass noodles that looked intriguing. There was no flavor, a dish that just was slightly pleasing to look at and disappointing to the taste. The waitress never came back after the initial time when she took our order to see how we were doing or even how the food was. Employees lacked training and professionalism. Not to mention the parking situation was also such an inconvience but what do you expect when you’re in the middle of downtown. Overall, extremely poor customer service, food was so mediocre which is an overstatment on my part. Don’t have any high expectations when coming here is my best advice.
Food was awful..shrimp was served raw and the chicken satay was boiled chicken with curry powder, shrimp special app was flavorless and the wings app was basically eating burnt boiled chicken , let the server known the food doesn't match the pictures or description and her response was well you ordered it ..only after I ate a raw shrimp that they served did she realize she better take it away and removed it from the bill , will see if I get sick from eating raw shrimp.Never recievd a visit from a manager . The drink from the bar was not bad
Was just in Thailand in January and this food comes to as close as traditional authentic as can be. Has the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Our server Faya provided exceptional service and knowledge on the menu and drinks. The roti with the green curry is 10/10 and the mango signature cocktail is one of the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 will be coming back Edit: was 5 stars for everything but now it’s 1. Went back again and absolute opposite experience. Service was horrible and tip was still expected?? Server was a female dog and condescending. Didn’t speak a word to us. Didn’t offer us a box, or a desert. Took 20 minutes to take our order and then didn’t even refill our waters. What a terrible second experience.
