Delicious! Skinny Marguerita, Chicken Mole Poblano, and Shrimp Enchiladas were perfect! Outdoor seating was also perfect-- once the loud-talking, drunk adults left, that is. 😂

Day trip with my parents to see the sculptures out in the desert and looked for local Mexican Food. The place was clean, our servers were polite and quick to service. The food was amazing! My mom had Mole and she said the only other place shes ever had this flavor was in mexico when she was a young woman, she loved it. I had the Enchiladas and the flavor was on point. Dad had some tacos and loved them too. The chips and salsa were good and spicy. I wish they had some aguas frescas but soda was fine. A must try if you are in this area or doing a day trip like us or just passing by.

Great food and excellent service. The flavor was perfect and the spice was just right - not too hot. But beware, the plates are hot when they serve you...keeps your meal toasty as you enjoy it. the grill also has a bar with multiple big screens for the game. Best Mexican food in the area and the prices are fair. Yes, I recommend this to my friends.

Chose this place on a whim after hiking and seeing the wildflowers. Their Internet was down due to a sink leak so cash only when we went in, which was fine. The food itself was actually really well presented, hot, tasted great and was priced well. The building/physical aspect itself left a little more to be desired. I got a fork that was kinda dirty but I just cleaned it myself. For some reason the soda tasted so off I couldn't take more than 3 sips. My partner told me the men's bathroom was in disarray but the women's was alright. I'd give this place another try but I wouldn't bother with soda next time. Food itself was great and decently authentic tasting though, no complaints there at all.

Nice people, decent service, medium wait times, interesting atmosphere, statues for sale nearby, smaller portions, decent food, prices are fair. Located in the main mini mall, conveniently on the end. Lots of parking. Shops and sights to see nearby. Not a bad stop for being in tourist country imo

Food was great, staff is friendly. Service is a tad bit slow to our liking but we didn't mind it a lot as we got our food super hot and tasty. Ambience is appropriate to the desert climate. Definitely try the margaritas.

The food here was good! Service was a little slow, and we had a hard time getting our check so we could leave. I think they were just busy and getting ready to close. It’s a good place to go after a hike!

Just arrived in Borrego Spring and hungry. Not too many choices in town but we decided to drive to Carmelita’s. They are doing takeout only at this time. We ordered food to go. Friendly staff and great food! Refried bean and rice were delicious! Chicken tortilla soup was tasty and not salty; the tortilla strips were still crunchy. Yum!

Convenient location but food is average. Nothing special or extra tasty. Parking is plenty! I agree with other reviews where customer service is bad. They brought us water when we first arrived but when we were ready to order, I could not catch any of the waiters’ eyes/attention! Even when it came to paying the bill, we walked up to the register and STILL had to wait for our specific waitress to come. Ridiculous! We ordered the meatball soup and only the meatball was good. Everything else was super average. The taquitos were perfectly crispy but flavor didn’t jump out to me. The drink was ok too.

Probably the worst margarita I’ve ever had. The service was beyond indifferent and shockingly bad: no cutlery, wrong food delivery, and incorrect check. Zero atmosphere, with TV screen on Cognitive Care TV channel. Couldn’t get out fast enough. At least the burritos were OK.

Just review is about the waiter the male waiter Brian he tried to rip me off for over $70. He became arrogant when I brought it to his attention I asked for a small extra bag of chips because of the inconvenience and he would not give it to me. He did not apologize I think he did it on purpose he was hoping I wouldn't notice or read my credit card receipt and I gave him a cash tip really disappointing

The food was without flavor. I was extremely disappointed. The price of our meal did not reflect the poor quality and tasteless ingredients. Glad we filled up on chips.

I used to live near this restaurant and I was very excited to be able to go back. We loved the food here back then. They have done some beautiful upgrades inside and out, but the food was so disappointing!!! First and foremost they do NOT have a kids menu. When I asked why I was told, oh well everyone prefers to share with there kids or go alacart. We do not. My son unfortunately is very particular. His meal ended up being just about as expensive as ours! My husband and I wanted a combo order and I admit I’ve not seen this before, they have a “basic” option. And if you go beyond basic they nickel and dime you for every single thing. My food was not that great, a friend said it reminded her of del taco sauce. The chips were stale and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. Service definitely could have been better. We waiting almost 20 minutes just for a glass of water. There are other fabulous options in Borrego but for us this was the last time we will be spending any money at this location.
