Great spot in Charlestown. Food and drinks were excellent. We started with the popcorn chicken, which was a solid appetizer, and had a couple of tequila mules that were very good. We ordered two pizzas—buffalo chicken and prosciutto—and both were really good. The vibe on a Friday night was on point: busy and lively without feeling overcrowded. Overall, a great experience and we’ll definitely be back.
My first time here, was surprised finding a coffee shop and a full restaurant all together, pretty cool. You either enjoy a coffee with pastry or a full meal. Had the freshest oysters, a delicious lunch and Bloody Mary was on point! Liked their setup and how bright it is because of all the many high windows.
I ended up here after going to Winter Fest... The gentleman who was seating people was able to seat us even though we did not have a reservation.... he was so personable and you could tell he enjoyed his job.... the food was amazing.... I got the winter sangria, poke nachos and Thanksgiving spring rolls with cranberry Mayo... so good... I definitely will be back....
It would be impossible to list all the reasons you should try Tradesman. The menu has something for everyone, but includes seasonal changes. Staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Whether coming by yourself, or planning a work function, shower, or party, you will not be disappointed.
Tradesman Pizza is worth the stop, the atmosphere is so cozy and unique, the pizza is great, the drinks don’t disappoint. Had a great experience at this restaurant, I will definitely be back!
Edited review after second visit: upping to five stars. We had an awesome dinner and Rosalia was a really nice server. We got the poke nachos, blackened chicken Caesar salad, and the crispy fried chicken sandwich. All was super tasty. Original review: For now four stars, more like 4.5, since I went only for coffee and mini donuts. I’m going to edit my review when I eat here because the restaurant looks very nice too. Iced latte was strong and yummy and the mini donuts were fun to try! Other baked goods and sandwiches looked awesome as did the interior decor. Excited to find this place close to home while I was getting my hair cut next door. Back for dinner soon!
Went to Tradesman for brunch for the first time today and…. WOW!! The service was phenomenal, the ambiance and decor were incredible, and the food was magnificent! Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. We were seated quickly, even though we arrived 15 mins early for our reservation. For food, my husband and I had the mini donuts (6 total), poke nachos, popcorn chicken, smoked bacon Benedict, a piece of fried chicken, and egg whites with vegetables (comes in pie-like piece). For drinks we each had a latte and espresso martini. The latte was hands down the BEST LATTE I’VE EVER HAD! Any coffee that I have from now on will be disappointing compared to what I had at Tradesman. And the espresso Martini was out of this world! Small details, such as the decor, food presentation, and the cocktails menu were some of the many things that made Tradesman stand out to us! I can say that this will be one of my favorite go to restaurants moving forward. I’ve already booked reservations to go again with a close friend! I would definitely come back and recommend this spot to anyone looking for amazing food and service.
I am thrilled that I was able to find this restaurant because I enjoyed it so much! We started with the poke nachos to share - everyone loved them! I got the wild mushroom pizza, and I added prosciutto. We finished with 6 donuts to share, and they were fun!! The service was incredible, our server knew exactly what we should order! Their outdoor area is perfect!! I will definitely be returning!!
If you’re looking for a spot that has it all- look no further. The vibe is rad, the service is solid, and the food is amazing! The brick oven pizza alone is worth the drive but then there are the mini donuts!!! Highly recommend both the margarita and the pepperoni pizza. Cocktails are interesting, but not overly complicated. Parking couldn’t be easier. Excellent for an intimate lunch at the bar with a friend, or a lunch/dinner with colleagues or a special event. Highly recommend Tradesman!
My dear friends organized a baby shower for me at this Tradesman location and I was beyond happy with our experience from the service to the food. They were truly amazing making sure we had everything we needed and that we could have the best time! our server Alberto was the best!!! super helpful and attentative and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I highly recommend this place if you have an upcoming celebration or simply to have a great brunch with friends!
We had such a great time with our family. The staff was very friendly, and amazing food. Highly recommend the French toast and the pancakes, we loved the breakfast pizza too. Nice fresh coffee. We definitely comeback!!!
Super cool place with a HUGELY spacious, endearingly quirky interior. Stopped by for a drink after work, one of the most well presented, yummy espresso martinis I’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to come back for the famed pizza and some more treats from their cafe :)
This place is very cute and really good food. I came in with a group of friends excepting brunch but we had just missed the cut off so we stayed for lunch instead. Because of that I feel our waiter/waitress did not do a good job and we where waiting for some of our meal for such a very long time. I would come back to give it another try for sure but just a different time.
I cannot say enough good things about Tradesman. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is delicious, and the staff has such a wonderful spirit! I loved my margherita pizza, and my friends really liked their salmon. And the espresso martinis are to die for! The manager and bartenders went out of their ways to be sure we were enjoying ourselves, and I cannot wait to return!
We were extremely excited when we received our appetizer’s the nacho’s we’re amazing HUGE 😍. Wish I could say the same about my $22 fish & chips I actually had to ask one of the staff if that was a meal I ordered or a kids meal. I can definitely recommend for appetizer’s and drinks and the staff was amazing. Dinner I recommend being careful if you are hungry.ok so we ate there again and they definitely redeemed themselves 🙏🏼❤️
Such yummy food, delish vanilla latte, and nice service. The outdoor patio is great. Definitely recommend
I had a couple of months trying to come, so glad I did. We came to celebrate Mother’s Day. Ambience was great, decoration is beautiful, music warm and cozy. They have a Prosecco bucket so worthy😍 mini donuts were DELISH, my favorites were red velvet and coconut-nutella🫶. Fresh juices, food was excellent. Our server Alberto made us feel so welcomed 😘 keep doing the great job 👏 definitely coming back soon
Long time customers, first time at this location and it was STUNNING. Free 1-3 hour parking in the garage next door essentially. The design was absolutely stunning and layout was wonderful. Take out up front, dining tables into the high tops as it all runs along the longest and beautiful bar. Service was excellent and they were generous. Our waitress was unbelievable and had nothing but great recommendations. We had just stopped in for a cocktail and mini donuts and it was perfect. Everyone always claims they have the best espresso martini in Boston but genuinely this place is top 3. Frothy, not too sweet, strong coffee taste and presentation was perfect. We also got the lemon blackberry mule and it was sooooo refreshing. Pricing was perfect and we can’t wait to come back for dinner sometime very soon!
Tradesman was definitely the perfect place for hosting our friends baby shower, the staff was very helpful since the minute we got there, our server Alberto was incredibly great service, everyone had fun and the food was amazing, definitely recommend if you have a celebration coming up! Thank you to everyone at tradesman that helped us celebrate our friend today.
The pan seared scallops were amazing! Delicious is an understatement! The outside was done just right and had a caramelized flavor, but the inside was soft and the right texture. The risotto was buttery and creamy with a little firmness. The caramelized onions and pieces of ham complimented the dish very well. The Tradesman burger was smokey and flavorful and was complimented with bite-sized light and crispy fries. Lastly, the crispy cauliflower was a little spicy but not too much. It was very reminiscent of general tso's chicken.
This is such a cute place with a fun vibe. I loved the different flavors of mini doughnuts. They are small and have different flavors so I recommend getting the 12 size but they were so tasty! Generous portion sizes, fast and friendly service, and great food. There's a parking garage right nearby that has free parking up to 3 hours which is perfect since there's very limited street parking. I would definitely go back!
After visiting Winter Fest, we finally checked out this spot for dinner! My husband and I are big fans of their downtown location, so we were excited to try the Charlestown one. The cozy atmosphere and the stunning copper pizza oven in the open kitchen immediately set the stage for a great meal. I had the apple butter, pear, and prosciutto pizza, while my husband tried the bacon and honeynut squash -- both were unbelievable and made for the best leftovers the next day! The restaurant had a wonderful mix of date nights, families, and even a corporate party, which really shows how versatile this place is! Absolutely worth a visit!
I work near this location, so I've walked over there twice so far. I've tried their Chai Latte and their Honey Bee Lavender Latte and both were excellant. The service is always great. The ladies behind the counter are super friendly and helpful. The decor is what I'd describe as cozy eclectic. I haven't tried the food there yet, but the pastries and breakfast sandwiches on display look amazing. I highly recommend taking a stroll to see the art on the shipping containers located in the back of Hood Park. There's a dog park there as well.
Amazing place, great vibe and delicious food. Everyone is super friendly. Parking is super convenient, there is a garage around the corner free for the first 3 hrs. You cant go wrong with the pigs in a blanket and poke nachos appetizers. Cant wait to try their brunch!
We are from NYC, and we just saw this place and went in. My family and I were starving. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I loved the food. The appetizers and entrees were delicious. Our waitress was very patient and kind. It was busy, but they still managed to handle the load. I'm definitely coming back the next time I go to Boston
Came here for their soft opening. We were blown away by the interior, it’s inviting with an upscale vibe. Tuna nachos and sausage pizza were outstanding! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning! Can’t wait for the fresh donuts!
Excellent. I had the chicken sandwich with Sriracha mayo and fries. chicken cooked to perfection with a little kick from the Sriracha mayo love fries with the skin still on. Had one slice of pizza also very delicious. Wasn't able to try any of the blackened chicken Cesar salad due to the guy being stingy but he said it was delicious.
Alberto was incredible, we enjoyed our time at Tradesman. Food was amazing, we had the blueberry pancakes, mini donuts, eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros and the espresso martinis, which btw are the best in MA😍😍😍❤️. Antonio was the best bartender too, he prepares delicious cocktails and I don’t even like coffee but his espresso martinis left me speechless.
Have been to both locations more than a couple of times. The downtown Boston location is counter service and apparently serves alcohol. The Charlestown location has sit-down service and a full bar. The food, service, drink, and atmosphere at both are phenomenal.
The ambiance of this coffee shop/restaurant is probably one of the nicest in the city! They use the best quality coffee, sandwiches and pastries that are delicious, and donuts that are a must! The restaurant is perfect for a date night, business lunches, or large parties getting together for the holidays. The dinner menu has a variety of pizzas and dishes that are perfect for sharing. Beers on tap are all local The staff are so attentive and passionate for providing the best experience to everyone who walks in! Would definitely recommend a visit!
The atmosphere here is cozy, warm, and absolutely dazzling✨! I ordered the Madagascar Vanilla Latte and their delicious avocado toast, bite sized red velvet donuts, and fresh orange juice. They have so many sandwiches to choose from as well. Perfect place for enjoyment.
The food was delicious! Also, the donuts and the drinks were soo good!! Our server, Alberto was really caring, funny and helpful at the time we ordered. We really like the way he served us. fully recommend this place.
My friends and I were looking for a fun and unique place to go to for dinner and we couldn’t of made a better choice! From the moment we got there we were welcomed by Tradesman’s friendly hostess. I have to say I am an Expresso Martini critic and the ones here blew my mind! You will find the best expresso martinis in Boston here! All the props go to Anthony for them. Luana from Tradesman was super thoughtful, accommodating and welcoming from the moment we sat down. We loved her good energy, smile and exceptional service. The food was fenomenal! I cannot wait to come back and bring all of my friends to this amazing restaurant!
Our friend had the most beautiful Baby shower brunch we could ask for at Tradesman! With delicious treats (mini donuts) nice staff and excellent decore fits the aesthetic of good restaurant!
Just left from Tradesman for a quick lunch and some drinks. Stayed for the $1 oyster buck a shuck! Honestly so good, couldn’t turn it down. I love their expresso martinis but I will be back for the oyster next week
This place is absolutely wonderful—cozy, welcoming, and beautifully set up. I love the atmosphere and the overall setting. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy, and feel right at home. Highly recommend!
The Tradesman Charlestown is outstanding! Everything I had at this place was tasteful and well seasoned. My favorite dish is the steak and cheese quesadilla. I would honestly say the best in Boston. The staff is also friendly and caring. They are so attentive to details, specially Valentina, Ruben and the manager. Every time we go there we are welcomed and treated so well. I could not recommend it enough.
Tradesman Coffee Shop & Pizza Bar, cleverly situated at 50 Hood Park Drive, is, in my highly enthusiastic judgment and based on the frequent, genuinely satisfied reviews from colleagues and friends who frequent the Hood Park area, the absolute perfect convergence of high-quality morning fuel and fantastic evening fare, solving the perpetual question of where to grab both your espresso and your dinner with flair. Everyone I’ve spoken with consistently praises the exceptionally well-made coffee and pastries for the morning rush, the truly phenomenal wood-fired pizzas in the evening, and the stylish, comfortable industrial-chic atmosphere that works perfectly for meetings or social outings, emphasizing that the dual concept successfully delivers excellence in both categories. I’ve learned from their narratives that the atmosphere is one of relaxed urban sophistication and seamless day-to-night transition, making it an exceptional, high-value spot for anyone working or living nearby who demands quality and convenience. My subjective conclusion is that Tradesman is an irreplaceable, smartly designed neighborhood asset - a mandatory stop - so definitely visit for their outstanding pizza and then swing back the next morning for their top-tier coffee!
We had a party of 7 with a 2 year old for dinner. The food was really good. Their specialty pizzas are delicious. Love the vibe. It is spacious and the service was terrific.
Came here on a whim on a Saturday night. I really liked the ambience: it was pleasantly busy with background noise but not too loud. The food was solid (classic American food).
Had a wonderful Valentine's dinner here! The atmosphere is amazing, blending a pizza bar and coffee shop. By day, it's a cozy spot for coffee and breakfast with specialty donuts, and by night, it transforms into a vibey restaurant. We tried the Thanksgiving spring rolls, blackened chicken caesar salad, and the cherry pepper and ricotta pizza. The Thanksgiving spring rolls are a must-try! They taste like Thanksgiving leftovers wrapped in a spring roll—so delicious. The salad was tasty, though the chicken had a bit of a spicy kick, so it might be a bit much for some. The pizza, while good, wasn’t our favorite—it’s a white cheese sauce pizza, but it could have used more flavor. It mainly tasted like a ton of cheese and sweet peppers. Overall, the service was excellent, and we had a great time! Highly recommend.
Good place to enjoy a quality meal in a calm hotel lounge vibe. I’ve been coming here for brunch and dinner with my friends for some time, and we’ve always had satisfying experiences. Service is uniformly polished, and the calming shades of wood and brick decors evoke a hotel lounge comfort. The food, however, requires a bit more attention. We always started off our brunch with a basket of their signature mini donuts. While they looked dazzling, they were too dense and dry. I still liked the ones with dried strawberries and fruits cereal toppings, but other donuts were mediocre at best. On the other hand, the poke nachos and the wings were superb. Spicy aioli and wasabi mayo gave the nachos a lick of heat, and the wings were simple but delicious. From the brunch entrées, there wasn’t anything that stood out. Southwest avocado toast and smoked ham Benedict were decent, but the diner quality pancakes were a bit letdown. Their dinner entrées have more sophisticated flavors, and my favorite is their burger. Signature pizzas with innovative toppings are also worth trying, but they need some improvement on the crust job.
Came here to grab some food while working remotely and had a decent experience. The space is split between the cafe section and the sit-down service section, which wasn't immediately obvious to us. We approached the counter asking if we could order pizza and was directed to one of the employees in the restaurant section who seated us at the bar, which had outlets for our laptops. We ended up getting the Fish & Chips and a chicken sandwich to split. The texture of the fish wasn't the best - I thought it was too soft and not crispy enough. The fries were pretty good though. I ordered an iced chai after we ate, but it must've gotten lost along the way because the same waitress came back to check in on us and I had to remind her that I had ordered a drink. She was pretty apologetic about it, and the chai tasted good. Overall, I would only come back if I'm in the area for the drinks but not for food.
The overnight oats with Greek yogurt was satisfying and delicious. It was also $10.40 something! I expected $5-$7 for oats and Greek yogurt but that was way more expensive than planned. It was tasty, but I would not pay that price again (got salmon sushi from Whole Foods today for less). Apparently they make fresh mini donuts on weekends so that’s fun. Service was quick and kind. Not a lot of parking but it is accessible and there is a handicapped spot or two right out front.
Artfully decorated restaurant with good service. Decent coffee, great eggs benedict, crispy home fries but extremely sad chocochip pancakes. And limited vegetarian options
I come here every week because it's convieniemt for worl and the coffee is decent enough. The sandwiches however are genuinely the worst sandwiches I have ever had. They're always slimy and gross and never heated correctly. The chickem salad was basically inedible as all the chicken inside was questionable colors. The staff is always very friendly! and the coffee is good enough in a pinch. But I would very strongly reccomend against getting food.
Atrocious service… didn’t get water refilled even once, though restaurant was essentially empty. Was told they didn’t have coffee or cappuccino anymore but could make me an Irish coffee (due to alcohol overcharge). Nice atmosphere and food wasn’t bad, but they clearly are not interested in repeat customers.
Disappointing Experience at Tradesman!!! I visited Tradesman in Charlestown hoping for a good meal but was left thoroughly disappointed. My burger, as seen in the picture, took over an hour to arrive. To make matters worse, our server had the audacity to sarcastically justify the delay by saying, "There are just two people in the kitchen." What made this even more frustrating was seeing other diners who came in long after us getting their meals well before we did. This is unacceptable, and it felt as though the restaurant didn’t value our time. The food itself was average at best and definitely not worth the wait. Tradesman might have a good ambiance, but that doesn’t make up for the poor service and lack of organization. I won’t be returning anytime soon.
This entire order cost me $39.66. It comes with half of the spring rolls that used to come and it cost $18.00. The meatballs are smaller than a toddler size meal and it costs $16.50. I live on the residential building next to the restaurant and I’ve seen this place go completely downhill in 2 years.
A modern, but honestly a bit of a pretentious environment only to be very disappointed by the grab and go food. Since the food is premade, our reheated breakfast wraps resulted in rubbery scrambled eggs and brown avocados. We honestly threw it away after a few bites which was a bummer.
