About 30 years ago I went to Phoenix #1. Then it relocated to Phoenix #2 near the Honda Center behind the car dealership. They were there 26yrs. Now they are in Brea so let’s say Phoenix #3. There is a poetic story that can be found in that history. Well that’s the story I was told visiting today. Our visit was long over due. The beer was soooo good on such a beautiful so cal day. Wifey and I loved the patio area. We ordered a pretzel which had plenty of salt. A little too much for me but real easy to brush off a bit. Wifey really enjoyed her chicken schnitzel. The fries are coated seasoned and pair well with beer. The sausage platter was ok. I had the smoked brat and spicy sausage. No regrets at all. The German potato salad is a must have as your side. Don’t mess around with that. Overall we loved our meal and the service was attentive and very welcoming. We will be back for sure.
So happy to have found this place. Till I make the time to visit Germany I will keep coming here for my curry wurst and snitzel fix. Entree portions were massive and very filling.
Delicious, authentic German food in an open beer hall type setting. Really enjoyed the bratwurst, though the rouladen was a close second.
Excellent food, beer, and service! Glad to see this place reopen, and with an amazing menu!

Im not fun of German dishes but their Brathwurst are ridiculously delicious. If you decide to go take a stein with you totally worth it!
A touch of Germany in Brea, with a selection of delicious traditional German dishes and beverages as well as some American. Great atmosphere and service, with "Stein night" one Friday each month, and a gathering of the Phoenix club "Stammtisch" regulars every Friday evening. Prost!
My German husband loves it. Also kid friendly options. I find the prices very reasonable for that it is a cuisine you can't find often. Good service as well.
Great German food since Jegerhouse closed in Anaheim. Great sausages, potato pancakes, weinersnitzel, and of course, Beer.
Four friends and I really enjoyed our lunch this weekend at the Bierstube. Each one of us had different entrees from bratwurst to the meat plate, all with potato pancakes and beer. The potato pancake appetizer with applesauce did not last long. Everyone remarked how good their food was. We also had 3 different excellent beers on tap including a super brew recommended by our waitress. Our service was attentive and efficient. At the end of our meal everyone agreed that we will return soon.
Great food. Great staff. My Cousin told me that this is the new location. The old was turned into a parking lot. I recommend the food and the atmosphere.
You have to go to Germany to find food this good. The new location in Brea is really nice. Try a schnitzel, spaetzle and potato pancakes with apple sauce. They also have all the good German biers.
Super delicious food! Waitress was super nice and knowledgeable. I am not very familiar with German food and she was very informative. Fantastic beer as well!

Amazing food and service, they also have a lot of events going on. They also sell to go tap beers in nice glass growlers.

Authentic German food, tasty, served relatively quickly with friendly service. The bratwurst was cooked to perfection. Sauerkraut tangy but not overpowering. Spetzle homemade. Warm rolls. Hearty Goulash. Comfort foods galore.

Food is authentic German style and good. Could have been served a bit hotter.
It was great time. Pricey but great service friendly people
Loved it! Could do without the Spaetzel, it didn't appeal to me (maybe could add a sauce to it?) but everything else was fabulous! Great cold cut plate and pretzel as appetizers. Loved the fruit plate I chose as a side dish. Friendly and attentive staff.

We used to go when they were near the Honda Center. We had a good experience there. It's not the same here. The food was fine, but the service was horrible. One order was not put in with the rest. After we got our food, we didn't see our server for at least 20 minutes. Unfortunately, that is quite common at most restaurants nowadays. 😕

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had in years. My trained service dog has been welcomed without issue at hotels, restaurants, and patios everywhere — yet at Bierstube in Brea, the so-called “manager” Linda decided to make it her mission to ruin my Sunday. I was denied the simple right to sit outside on the patio with my dog, while at the exact same time other customers were sitting there with their dogs. When I questioned the inconsistency, Linda started interrogating me, throwing every excuse she could think of, and ultimately told me my dog was not welcome. Her tone was degrading, discriminatory, and completely unprofessional. We left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and discriminated against. For a place that pretends to be welcoming, this is nothing more than a third-rate establishment with a manager who abuses her position to mistreat customers. If you value respect, fairness, or even basic decency — avoid this place. There are plenty of restaurants that know how to treat people (and service animals) with dignity.
Correction: tried to rip is off the second time without apology :( check your bill. Beautiful old-time pub, polished wood everywhere, German draft beers of every variety, happy hour 4-6 Mon-Sat, bay window views, FS1 Baseball channel on the 4 televisions, brilliant service…free bread and butter

Absolutely terrible! The drinks were noticeably watered down. The pretzel was over baked and dry. The burger had zero flavor. The beef roll was overcooked and dry with zero flavor. It’s a shame and a waste of money.
