Got there right at opening time and was seated right away. Service was pretty good overall. The servers did get caught up in a lot of conversation with each other but it was slow so I get it. The sushi was fresh, along with the oysters. If you’ve never had it you have to try the tuna marrow. Probably the best tasting thing I had over all. Definitely will come back again.

I haven't been in person YET but I've ordered twice (2 nights in a row). I wasn't sure if the first time was a fluke so I had to try the sushi again... it was just as good as the first time! The sushi is soooo fresh. Once you try it, you just know immediately by the texture and taste that there are different levels to how fresh something is. The packaging is super cute. I love that they are generous with the fish in the rolls and don't try to fill it with rice. My bf and I loved it so much, we are definitely going to try the dine-in experience.

The Chubby franchise always tasty. This is a great restaurant for people who actually love fresh fish. If you're willing to pay a higher price for freshness and quality, I'd recommend this place! I wouldn't recommend this place for people who just eat California rolls... Because there's no fish in a Cali roll. Naw mean? Fresh fish + money = Chubby Sushi! If ya want a cheaper place who serve solid, basic rolls, go to Oki Doki Sushi.

Chubby Sushi & Ramen absolutely exceeded my expectations! I ordered the Chubby Sashimi Deluxe and WOW — 25 pieces of beautifully cut sashimi served with dry ice for the most stunning presentation. Total masterpiece. The 6pc Chef’s Choice was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the Brea Roll was delicious. But the real star for me was the Bluefin Tuna Marrow — jelly-like texture, briny in the best way, and insanely good when paired with the Chubby Angel Roll. A must-try! Service was friendly, the quality was top-tier, and everything tasted so fresh. Definitely one of the best sushi experiences in Brea. Highly recommend!

This place was ok. The service was good, the atmosphere was good, very nice and clean restaurant. The sushi just didn't hit the spot. I'm mainly judging it by the spicy tuna on crispy rice. It is one of my favorite things to order so if it's not good, I probably won't be back. The crispy rice seemed overcooked and cold as if it was pre-cooked, and then they just put the spicy tuna on it later when someone orders it. That may not be the case but it was really hard to chew. The other rolls were fine, the chubby roll was the best out of the 3 things I got. They also have Ramen. I didn't try it but it smelled good.

I hate to dock a star because they were apologetic and clearly overwhelmed but making a reservation here for my birthday dinner was not a great experience. For some reason you're not able to reserve online for Fridays and so I had to call. Because of traffic we were 10 minutes late to our reservation and they went ahead and gave away our table so we had to wait over 30 minutes. I even called when I knew we were going to be late but the server was pretty dismissive on the call. Once we were seated the service was quick and the food was decent, a little underwhelming because of the hype, but I don't think we could really enjoy it because of our experience.

I ordered from DoorDash, the food and presentation is fantastic! BUT I’m just very confused, how is it associated with another sushi place/restaurant in UT? J&C house? Perhaps the manager or the owner of Chubby can help me puzzle it out?

We wanted to try this place after passing it many times, and it was pretty good! The we got two lunch specials and a Chubby Angel Roll. You would be full of the lunch special alone because it’s really filling! The ramen was really good and so were the rice dishes that came with it. However, by the time I got my veggie tempura, it was super soggy since it was sitting in the dipping sauce. The sushi was also really good and refreshing. The waiters were super nice and helpful too! We would love to come back soon!

We saw this place pop up on an instagram reel and decided to come through for lunch on a week day. After sitting down, the older lady waitress was super pushy for us to order, coming back every 30-60 seconds and seemed to be annoyed that we didn’t make up our minds. Eventually two younger waiter/waitresses rotated over to us and were much more reasonable. We saw the tuna bone marrow from the reel and had to give it a try. Much to our regret, we weren’t a fan of it. It sounded fun, but it was like eating fish flavored jello and just a small bite on each side as the marrow doesn’t go through the entire bone. Other than that let down though, everything else was pretty dang fresh and yummy. The sashimi platter was cool as we didn’t expect it to come with a show. The unagi was spectacular as it was grilled perfectly, with loads of crunchy bits on the outside from the char. Overall pretty good sushi spot for this area and I’d still return to try again.

Was in Brea visiting family and we came to Chubby Sushi for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Ordered the sashimi salad for myself. Everything looked great until I dug a little deeper to find my mixed greens were not fresh. The sashimi however was fresh and delicious. Just enough vinaigrette to coat the salad. I asked the server to bring me some fresh greens and they did replace the greens immediately.
