La Noxe is a unique speakeasy known for its cool ambiance, hidden entrance in a subway station, and intimate setting. Many reviewers praise the cocktails, music, and friendly staff, especially the bartenders. Some find it small and drinks overpriced.

Tip: Make a reservation in advance, especially if going on a weekend or with a group, as the space is very small and fills up quickly.

Awesome vibes. Very small space, but I can tell the owner has a great sense of design and music. Talked to the owner, he’s definitely a man of taste. Drinks are fine - a heavier emphasis on the ambiance. Definitely not for everyone, but it’s better that way - so there will be a seat for me when I return 🙌
Came here on a Saturday night. And had a blast! The cocktails were great and the atmosphere was the perfect New York City speakeasy vibe. The bartender (Matthew) was also great at recommending drinks and had a vast knowledge of cocktails. Music was awesome as well!
The style of the venue and the music for me was spot on, the cocktails were great. Perfect little hideout. Guys behind the bar were great and shout out to Sam.
The level of hospitality and product is beyond impeccable. British Jesus was exquisite, dare I say biblical? Bieber Tattoo Aficionado was incredibly personable and a tequila expert.
La Noxe is one of those spots that thrives on exclusivity; hidden entrance, moody lighting, sleek design — but timing is everything here. I had an 8:30 reservation and walked into a completely empty space. Instead of feeling intimate, it leaned a little too quiet, almost like we had arrived before the party started. The cocktails were well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted, but at this price point I was hoping for the atmosphere to match the drinks. Service was polite, though with no one else around, the energy felt flat rather than elevated. One thing worth noting: there’s only a single bathroom, and by the time I went in, it was clear the men before me hadn’t exactly aimed well. Not the chicest detail for a speakeasy-style bar that leans on exclusivity. I can see how La Noxe could be a fun late-night stop when the room is buzzing and the concept really comes alive. At 8:30, though, it felt more novelty than magic. A spot worth experiencing once, but one where the when matters just as much as the where.
The first time I came here was around 7pm on a week night. I didn’t have a reservation and they were at capacity, so we ended up going to another bar. This was my second time trying to come to this bar and I made reservations for 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. When we got there, the bar was at about 50% capacity, so we could have walked in, if we wanted to. The drinks we good. I got the secret garden with mezcal and kale juice. It wasn’t strong or too sweet. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe of the bar and my drink.
I really enjoyed our time at this speakeasy cocktail bar. Music selection here was perfect for the interior design they are rockin. One of the owners served us and told us the story behind the different pieces of furniture they had there. Very groovy. Exiting out through the subway station makes this place feel unique.
I've wanted to come here since hearing about it opening, finally found the perfect Thursday evening, a Girl's Night Out! In reading more about La Noxe, I realized there was a connection to another place I used to be a regular at (Kinfolk). It was great to see familiar faces, the staff there was amazing. The speak easy ambiance was a great place to start off the night. The special cocktails were delicious! Will certainly be back soon! Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Not surprising this place had a long wait list the second they opened. One of the best and most unique bars I've been to. The bar and space is everything you want it to be. The bar is truly is in the subway, and it embraces that (see the drink name below). At the same time, it's chic in a very classy way. The vibe is intimate, but lively. Perfect for date night. My girlfriend and I had a great time! I got the Uptown Local and she got a chablis. Shout-out to Jay, the owner. He had the perfect wine recommendation for what she was in the mood for. Their specialty, the Uptown Local was delicious. It has tropical notes from the pineapple rum and coconut but has an oak-like mature finish. Perfect cocktail for any mood. Get on the wait list now because it's only going to get longer :)
Gorgeous speakeasy under the subway. The owner is lovely and the bartender makes great drinks and is full of friendly conversation. Felt like I had stepped into Havana, literally, from the old records to the steamy glass and warm orange light. The chef is from Venezuela and the fresh Venezuelan menu pairs drinks and bites perfectly. You can watch straphangers enter the subway from the window. The drink pictured is the banana daiquiri.
The drinks were good though quite expensive and the decor and atmosphere was nice. The space was small but when we went around 8/9pm there was no wait. The server rushed us a bit but excusable due to the size of the space. It was a fun speakeasy experience as the bar exits into the stair landing of a subway entrance.
Overall rating: 4.4 Finally, finally a true speakeasy!! And it’s legit in a subway station ! So cool. I had to knock off a few points because of the following: - soo tiny. Like kitchen in east village tiny. You cannot come here more than 3 people & even 3 people feels tight. - it’s a place more for the experience, but not to hang. The drinks were goood, but because it’s so tiny - you’re kinda of slouching a bit to hear your friend. You’re not really able to enjoy yourself. It might be honestly best as a date. My reservation was for around 8ish. But I probably won’t be going again unless I was trying to flex on a date. Def worth an experience regardless.
The drinks are very over priced. The space is cool and i love that it’s right along the subway. It’s a fun surprise to walk through the door. But the space is so small and the way its laid out just makes it awkward because you hear everyone conversations. For some reason the bartender that night was upset and it seemed like he might be having an argument with someone over text. He kept standing and texting every few minutes. He was nice but not particularly friendly or fun. He didn’t make an effort with the customers at all. He seemed really grumpy. I think in a place this small, if you pull in the whole bar with the specialty of drinks but also making them and almost making it a show then it makes more sense. But this place just really missed the mark.
Update: As promised, am amending my review as was contacted by management. An itemized was provided of my check, and unfortunately am told there may have been a miscommunication with what martini I ordered. An understatement for sure. On their website the menu shows specialty cocktails as $19 (which is also what I remember seeing in person). Apparently the menu in person has a $47 martini, so if you order “a martini” and are offered the majestic or glance at a majestic martini and assume it’s around $19 like the rest - be sure to clarify that you would (or would not) like the $47 martini. Can’t find any current non-blurry menu photo to even confirm what was in this cocktail to justify the $53 after tip (left $10 on the total tab for 2 drinks). But I can assure you, there are better experiences in the city for a cocktail at that price point. ——— I was expecting the “exclusive” cocktails price point, but $70 for a martini off the menu and a well whiskey+coke?? (bartender even kind of jokingly confirmed that I “didn’t want top shelf right?”, I said no thank you obviously and laughed) There was no itemized at signing, didn’t remember what price the menu cocktails were and I had to rush to catch my train to the airport so didn’t have time to dispute in person. After looking up the menu online the next day I’m certain I was overcharged. Have tried contacting them via both emails and phone numbers listed. No response. It’s a shame bc otherwise we would have had a fun experience. Door was opened and let in swiftly, no issues with our attire, the bartender was friendly. Probably not someplace I’d stay for a long time on a night out, but I dug the vibe. If management can rectify my billing issue, will happily update my rating.
We were the only people in there and service was extremely slow, there was a huge leak on the floor, and it took us 6 minutes of ringing the doorbell to get in (which would have been fine if it was busy, but when we entered there was no one). Drinks were okay for $19. I definitely wouldn’t come back. There’s much better, cooler spots for a $20 drink.
La Noxe provided very poor service. At a private party with around 40 guests, there was only one bartender working, which led to extremely long wait times. The drinks were also overpriced and consistently served half full. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not worth the cost.
