Has that old school family owned vibe. The owner greeted every table that came in and thanked them for coming upon leaving. Food portions were big and very good. Lots of signed celebrity pictures on the walls dating back to the mid 1900s, very cool stories with each that Sal, the owner will tell you about if time permits. Loved it!!

I went to Patsy’s Italian Restaurant, just south of Central Park. A place that has been there since 1944. Places like this don’t survive by accident. They survive because they do things the right way, and they do them consistently. The room speaks before anyone says a word. Old-world. Respectful. The kind of atmosphere where conversations are low and the walls have heard everything. This is traditional Neapolitan cooking, the kind that doesn’t need to explain itself. It simply shows you. I ordered the Uccelletti Filet Mignon over pasta. When it arrived, I understood immediately. Rich, indulgent, unapologetic. Perfectly cooked filet, sauce that clings to the pasta the way it should. This is not a dish you argue with. You accept it, and you’re grateful. Just don’t bring your diet into this room—it won’t leave with you. I also tried the Chicken Fettuccine. Creamy, deep, comforting. The Rigatoni followed—solid, honest, done the way it has always been done. Every plate carried weight. Nothing rushed. Nothing careless. The service was professional, quiet, and attentive. They know when to appear and when to disappear. That’s not taught in a day—you learn that over generations. Now I understand why Frank Sinatra loved this place. Men like that don’t waste their time. Patsy’s earns your trust the moment you sit down. If you’re looking for history, excellent food, and an atmosphere that commands respect, you come to Patsy’s. This is not just dinner. This is tradition

Only markdown comes from the bland green beans that came with the entrée. Would have preferred a little pasta. Clams Oreganata rocked. The Veal rocked. The Cannoli Cake rocked. And the house Montepulciano was nicely priced and held up well. Service was prompt and proactive. Came before a show at Carnegie Hall. Would recommend and return.

Patsys never disappoints and has been top-notch for decades. On a very cold December night we enjoyed the lasagna special which Chef Sal makes himself and an order of stuffed zucchini blossoms that were perfection. A bottle of Malbec to wash it all down followers by homemade desserts. Patsys has the history as we all know but it is, still, an outstanding Neapolitan red-sauce restaurant where you are treated like home. Dont miss it.

Patsy's is truly a bit of perfection. The food, the atmosphere, the hospitality are all fantastic. We were there for a family dinner on Christmas Eve and it was a highlight of our trip to NYC. Sal came out to the table, we expected to maybe have a quick hello and "how was the food" but he spent 15 minutes with us telling stories from the 3 generations of family ownership. We'll be back and are absolutely looking forward to it, I couldn't recommend highly enough. Patsy's is New York Italian through and through and a reminder why family restaurants are so amazing in the midst of all of the corporate owned establishments. Huge thanks to Sal & the entire crew for a fantastic experience.

Must stop in NYC! Family owned and oriented. Sal, the chef and owner, 3rd generation of Patsy was so kind. His son Joe at the host stand and his wife were so kind to us. Sal gave us a history lesson on the restaurant and how Frank Sinatra made the restaurant famous. This restaurant cared about the quality of food and the pleasure of the guests. Thank you Sal, come visit us in Florida soon!

We just randomly found this restaurant and found out this was like Frank Sinatra’s second home back to that time. Food is delicious and smooth. We love the vibe in the restaurant, the staff and even the guests are like family have very cute humor. Eto served our table with his caring and humor made our experience special and unforgettable. The eggplant parm and penne vodka were like homemade by grandma , very tasty. We finished the whole food then ordered eggplant to go and another bottle of vodka sauce just because we really love the food ! Definitely will come back again soon!

The place was amazing overall. I had the Linguine with red clam sauce with a glass of Pinot Grigio. After I ate a delicious slice of their canolli cake with a double espresso. 😋. FYI No hats allowed in the dinning room

For my first proper dinner in NYC, I chose to book a table at Patsy’s, and from the very beginning, their excellent staff (seriously, in a city full of people really great at hospitality, these guys might take the crown) made us feel right at home. Since the food was delicious (the flavors, wow), and as the drinks were flowing (kudos for making Old Fashioned the old fashioned way, no pun intended), it was clear to me how this restaurant has kept people returning again and again decade by decade. A true institution for over 80 years, here’s to many more!

Patsy’s is the real deal. Not long after arriving we met Chef Sal, third generation owner. He and his staff were so warm and welcoming. The eggplant parmigiana was easily the BEST I’ve ever had. Bring your appetite- the portion sizes are very generous, you will not leave hungry. Thank you Michael Bublé for the recommendation, we loved it as much as you do! Be sure to call ahead and make a reservation- this place was bustling even on a Monday night. ps) Chef Sal even went outside so we could take a selfie with him in front of his iconic sign🙏

We had THE BEST service, food and drinks. The shrimp scampi was perfection. Adrian was so nice, professional and helped with choices when a few of us were undecided. He had us laughing the whole meal.

My wife and I came to Patsy‘s because we heard the food was legendary. When we arrived immediately, we felt welcomed like we were at home. The waiter Danny was wonderful at his responsibilities and made us feel very important. The owner Sal himself came, sat with us, gave us history of the restaurant And shared with his personal experiences, including with Frank Sinatra. We both ordered fettuccine Alfredo, which for us was the best we’ve ever had. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and personally take our most beloved family there we hope that this restaurant continues to be an experience for all those who love excellent Italian food!

First of all, straight in the door was greeted by staff and told them my name and reservation time. Was seated by server and was greeted by the owner Sal, which showed he really does care about how good his restaurant does. Food was out of this world. Both pasta’s my wife and I ordered were fresh. Calamari app was perfect with house made pasta sauce. Had a cannoli to top off the night. Would come again. Thanks Sal I appreciate you and the restaurant being apart of our trip to New York. Will never forget it.

Patsy’s is a classic Italian restaurant with decent food and nice atmosphere. The service was slightly above average. The draw here is that several celebrities frequent this restaurant. The Italian food is great but for a place that uses fresh pasta I was expecting a bit better. Overall I would definitely return next time I’m in New York and craving pasta.

It was our 29th anniversary. We wanted to go to One if By Land Two if by Sea but they close pretty early. This place definitely draws you in by dropping Sinatra's name. Keep in mind he has been dead for FOUR decades! I doubt the food or chef have endured. The food and drinks are MEH. I ordered Linguini and claim sauce which was a big mistake. My spouse was NOT wowed by his dish either. Look I'm African American I cook better Italian than most restaurants. We also have 5 stars palettes not to mentioned we have traveled to Italy 3 times. I traveled for work weekly all over the US. So my palette is not easily impressed. The desert was far better than the food or drinks but there are only two options Tiramisu🥱 and Canoli. At $200+ tip I would never ever come here again.

Not sure how to start this one. We have been going to Patsy's for years now as our kickoff dinner to the Brett Eldredge Christmas concert at the Beacon. This year was far different and the worst overall experience we've had. Typically we like to have Fettucine Alfredo with shrimp or chicken.....this year our waiter informs us when we order, that they are out of alfredo for the evening...how in the world can that happen? So we start our very disappointed and have to pivot. The Caesar salad was good, our ordered dishes were fine, but when you are coming for something specific and you are not forewarned it isn't a good vibe. You'd think they'd comp you a drink or something. Speaking of drinks, this one really got me going, my wife ordered a Grey Goose and Cranberry and I a Markers and Sprite.....ready for it! $50 for 2 drinks! I ran into Sal on the way out (he signed his book for us a couple years ago) he always goes around the tables, I didn't have the heart to say anything to him as he looked so happy, that is my bad. I am hoping someone else at Patsy's can respond to me though.

Disappointing value, even by Midtown standards. The food is average at best and doesn't justify the high price point. The Chicken Cacciatore was tough and dry, lacking the tenderness you'd expect. To top it off, the tiramisu was $16 for a tiny portion that was overwhelmingly creamy. You can easily find better quality and reasonable prices elsewhere in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately this experience didn’t even come close to living up to expectations. When we walked in and said the heat was broken in half the restaurant, it should have been a sign. I also wish they told us that the kitchen staff was late to arrive and that it would be a significant wait to get food. We were seated at 11:55 and didn’t get our food (ordered entrees only) until 1:05. There were only a few tables of people in the whole restaurant. We had show tickets for 2pm, that was a 20 minute walk away. We sat there for the majority of the time stressing that we wouldn’t make it because no one was upfront about the kitchen issue. We had about 10 minutes to eat and then packaged the rest up. The fettuccine Alfredo was watery and had zero flavor. And I do mean zero. The service wasn’t particularly friendly or good and the upstairs here was dingy and dated. This was a swing and a miss for us, which was especially disappointing because we were so looking forward to a lovely, delicious, and relaxing Italian lunch.

As other reviews have indicated, this place is not the real deal, and the ownership/management behavior is appalling. I dined with my family of six; everyone’s food arrived except mine. After being told “a few more minutes” and waiting 20 minutes, it was clear they simply neglected to put my order in. By the time my lobster fra diavolo arrived, my family was mostly done eating and it was clearly not fresh. My sister’s lobster organata had intact claws; mine was just chopped scraps. I ended the night with stomach pain and repeated trips to the bathroom. Things got worse when my father’s credit card triggered a fraud alert. My brother-in-law paid the bill and a 20% tip was left, yet the man at the host stand was shockingly rude to my father, who knows Sal personally. He essentially kicked him out of the restaurant while he was calling an Uber. It was 10 pm on a Saturday in NYC and he said they closed at 9:30 pm, neglecting to realize they brought my food out late and any legitimate restaurant stays open for guests to finish past their published closing time. In the chaos, my father left a bag of Christmas cards and presents, which they refused to return, effectively stealing them. We learned Sal is not actually the owner, just a figurehead, and the restaurant is run by the host and his family. This is not the restaurant Sinatra visited (he merely ate in the building). The food is mediocre at best, mine made me sick, and there is nothing authentically Italian about this place beyond the illusion they try to sell.

Tldr: way too overpriced for what it delivered The food was disappointing right off the bat because the bread was cold and hard. We ordered 2 lunch sets, which were $47 each. We had a Penne alla Vodka, an absolutely abysmal dish—a 5 year old kid can make a better pasta. Not only were both the sauce and the penne cold, but the presentation was disgusting. It was apparent that the chef didn’t put much effort into it. For the second entree we had the Chicken Frances, which in all fairness wasn’t that bad. At least the chicken was not too dry. But I didn’t like the sourness of the sauce. The only commendable part about the food were the desserts. Good portion and taste. But the bottom line is I won’t be visiting again.

Unfortunately won’t be ordering again from this Patsys. It’s way over priced for small portions. I called before I ordered and the lady said each portion was “large” and probably enough for 2. I thought for $30 to $40 dollar dishes, it should be pretty big portions. The ceasar salad for $17 was pathetic. The leaves barely covered the bottom of the takeaway plates. The worst was the calamari for $28. It says “for 2”. If you look at the picture, it’s barely a half portion. The fried mozzarella for $28 was also pretty small ( just those 2 pieces ). All the pasta dishes ( each around $30 to $40) barely filled the containers. Btw, I took all these photos before eating any of the food. I spent over $450 and my guest left hungry. I don’t think it’s right to charge so much and give so little. These are not expensive ingredients.

My wife and I were so excited to eat here. We’re not from New York City so this was way out of our way. Were saw amazing reviews about Patsy’s and decided to go. We waited over 1 hour to receive our food which was only 2 pasta dishes. The table next to us came in 15 minutes after us. They were greeted, ordered drinks, appetizers, food, and desserts all before we got our food. They even left before we saw our food. My wife and I had made plans and had to have our food taken Togo. We only saw our server when he first greeted us. Every other time something came to the table it was brought by someone else. Absolutely horrible experience. One of the worst servers I’ve ever had. If you want an overpriced bowl of spaghetti go anywhere else. (Seriously $16 for a side order of spaghetti with tomato sauce!?!)🥫

Let me start with why this is a one star review. As a tour co-leader I took a group of 50 people to this restaurant for dinner. One member of our party was disabled and could not climb the stairs to their second floor dining room. No elevator was available. I asked that this individual be able to eat on the ground floor. They refused to accommodate her saying they were full with reservations. I brought up the fact that there was a table in the bar area where she could eat. The staff member, who appeared to be a manager, said they had a policy that no one could eat in the bar area despite the fact there was a table there. They stood by this policy even though, in this case, it would violate federal law as they would not accommodate a disabled individual. For my point of view this restaurant should be avoided at all costs. The discrimination this restaurant exhibited to the disabled individual in our party is inexcusable. My remaining tour participants said the food was good. At the end of the meal, even though we had made it clear that alcohol purchases were the responsibility of tour participants, she serving staff put all the alcohol purchases on one bill and refused to collect money from tour participants. We have been running tours for years and we have never run into a single restaurant that has done this. My co-leader ended up charging the alcohol to his personal card. That should never have happened either. I cannot recommend Patsy's restaurant in any capacity, and I review a lot of restaurants on Google, most of which get five star reviews. Discrimination of this nature should never be tolerated.
