The server Riyadh was really nice! He first gave garlic bread as an appetizers while I was ordering. The garlic bread was soft and tasted great. For the meal, I got Penne Salsa Rosa($20) pasta which was very creamy and savory, the pan friend dumplings which comes in 6 pcs ($10) which was also great and piña colada($10)! I was surprised on how good the piña colada was comparing to other restaurants I've been to. This one has the perfect blend.

Lava Rock is definitely a Bronx hidden gem! I love how multiple cuisines are made and served and best of all is that it’s halal! I am talking about pasta, beef ravioli to pizza, to burgers and to even sesame chicken! I’ve been two times and both times the service has been exceptional. The owner and waiter/waitresses are super polite and kind. They also serve mocktails which I enjoy very much as I am trying to cut out alcohol in my life. I can still be able to enjoy my drinks 😌 the food doesn’t even make you feel sluggish full, but for sure keeps your tummy happy!

You have to try the steak!! It was a show stopper and some of the best steak we had. Took my parents who are hard to please if it’s not their own type of cuisine and they loved it. Food was 10/10. Hard to find zabiha hand slaughtered meat these days (which they report they use). Only issue was they forgot our mocktails (reminded them twice) and finally brought them at the end of our meal which was disappointing because we were looking forward to them during the whole meal. But they eventually didn’t charge us for them since they were so late. Overall great experience and will come back.

I had the tortellini and they were GENEROUS with the shrimp 😋 my sister got the ravioli but asked for pink sauce instead of Alfredo and they told us they only made it on request and brought it out for us! My brother got the chicken parmiggiana (?) with penne which was also great. Definitely comparable to what I’ve had in Italy if that counts for anything! All halal, with waiters super attentive to filling up water glasses and packing us up with to go containers. We also had the virgin mojito which was really good, and then the chocolate strawberries for dessert which were a bit rich for me. Overall, super reasonable in terms of price (we spent about $100 total) and got so much food - it feels like we’ll get a second dinner tonight with these leftovers! Service was AMAZING - we came all the way from Staten Island to try this place (thank you muslim foodies!) and we were NOT disappointed! Hopefully we can make the trip out here again and bring the rest of the family!

Decent food and exceptional friendly service, Our waiter Shoqut (sorry for spelling) was amazing and attentive, he really made lava rock kitchen a nice and fun place to dine at. My friends and I did the Ramadan Iftar special $35 for a 3 course meal. I wouldn’t get the fried appetizer but everything else was fine. Salmon was delicious and mint mojito was refreshing

The food and service were both excellent. Their free bread was fresh, warm, and delicious. We tried a New York Strip steak, the lamb chops, and a pasta dish along with their in-house sauces, all of which were great. The service was also quick and very attentive. I don’t usually write reviews at all but this restaurant is definitely worth writing one! I went to Lava rock kitchen with my family after seeing a video on instagram about it. We were a party of 6 and the food was amazing, so much flavor in every dish the only thing I have to say the penne with the cheese sauce was a little too salty for me but my son loved it. The restaurant is clean and very minimalist but very classy and neat. We had the penne with cheese sauce, chicken lollipops with gravy that had a very nice kick to it and the scallions on top gave it that nice extra crunch, then we had the homemade lasagna, the chicken special with cream sauce and mashed potatoes, the pizza with the bechamel sauce, the wings with the garlic and the chicken dumplings with spicy sweet sauce. For mocktails the lemon ginger mule was great with pieces of ginger in the ice that added some spice. Also the meal came with complimentary warm homemade garlic bread with spicy marinara sauce and it was a great add on! Our waitress was just great we weren’t sure what to order but her suggestions were on point, the way she explained everything it was like I didn’t have to see the pictures of the food. I noticed she does everything alone from start to finish but doesn’t miss a single beat while everyone else kind of looks disorganized and under pressure, I’ve eaten in many upscale restaurants and I’ve worked in the industry myself and some things you just notice right away! Overall a great experience. We were too full for dessert but we’ll be back!

This is our 3rd time within 6 weeks that we visited Lava Rock and each time the food and service was amazing. The steak is cooked to perfection: juicy, flavorful and buttery. We ordered the chicken lollipop from the Asian menu and it is the best gravy chicken lollipop we have ever tried. Food was amazing came out quickly too, didn’t catch the server’s name but he was amazing and very accommodating to food allergies and such. I’d recommend coming if you want to try some authentic italian food (and it’s halal). Drinks were good too I got the peach bellini and yeah ill give this restaurant a 9/10 and id recommend giving it a try.

Drove an hour and some change for this restaurant and it did not disappoint. If I could give 10 stars I would. Everything was so good. I ordered the pollo parmigiana & it comes with penne pasta, it was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. I also got the chocolate strawberries and they were so delicious. The mocktail was great too. I’ve been to Italy and the food here is definitely very authentic and high quality. I can’t really give this restaurant any higher praise than that. I hope they stay this way and do not compromise on quality or service. The only thing I regret is not coming here with a bigger appetite, but I will definitely be coming back.

I would say everything was very good, only in Parmesan the sauce was a little watery. It could be better Quantity was satisfying. Went to dinner here for my mother's birthday, and it was lovely. The ambiance is great, the restaurant is super clean, the food was delicious and prepared with care, drinks were amazing. I was looking for a new Italian place to try in the Bronx and Google lead me to Lava Rock Kitchen. Food: The complimentary bread is so good! I had to put it across the table to stop eating it. The fried mozzarella was a twist for me and it was yummy but, I prefer a crispy breading with a cheese pull to it. The Ravioli Alfredo with chicken is amazing and packed with flavor and highly recommended! They have an item not on the menu called “Misto di Carne” it’s a sampler basically with steak, chicken, lamb chops, potatoes, and zucchini fries. The stars for me were the zucchini fries(sooo good), lamb chops, and potatoes. The steak was a lil too well done since I asked for medium well. The sauces on the plate complemented the dish very well! I also had a spicy mango mocktail that was delicious! If they had alcohol I would’ve had a few of them. LOL Service: 5 stars! Riyadh provided great service and really took care of me. As someone else mentioned they automatically charge 18% on the ticket so watch that when tipping especially since the receipt gives a suggested tip amount again. His service was worth the 18% though so I didn’t complain. I would definitely return to this restaurant again and I hope others support this local business.

Long story short: definitely go I tried this spot after hearing about it because of Savour the Bronx. The food was great, attention to detail was great and so was the service. The secret star was the garlic bread and the sauce they brought out. I could live off of that tomato sauce. ( side note: 2 days later I got pizza it was bomb!) -For the appetizer I had the meatballs with the mash potatoes. The meatballs were well seasoned and juicy. Mash potatoes aren't usually the star of the show but they were so creamy and rich I cleaned the plate. -The chicken with the lemon sauce was so good and I don't like lemon anything lol. The chicken was tender and melted in my mouth. It was simple yet refreshing and flavorful. - The cheesecake was good but what caught my attention was the crust. Usually cheesecake crust taste generic but it was fresh and it help bring the cheesecake together. Everything tastes like it was made with love.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The food was phenomenal, with every dish bursting with authentic Tuscan flavors and perfectly executed. The pasta was fresh, the sauces were rich, and the desserts were heavenly. It’s clear that a lot of care and expertise goes into every plate. The ambiance was equally impressive, warm, inviting, and beautifully designed to make you feel like you’ve been transported to Tuscany. Review for Lava Rock Kitchen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently dined at Lava Rock Kitchen and had a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. I ordered the lamb chops, which were perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor—definitely a highlight of the evening. The sides complemented the dish wonderfully, enhancing the overall experience. I recently visited this new restaurant in Sterling and was thoroughly impressed. The service was exceptional, with the owner going above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. It’s rare to find such attentive service in Sterling. For appetizers, we ordered calamari and wings. Both were delicious. You can never go wrong with fried calamari, and the wing sauce was amazing! The steak, which I ordered medium, was cooked to perfection and quickly became my favorite dish. I can’t wait to return and order it again. My friends tried the lamb, which they enjoyed, and the pizza was also amazing.

While the menu offers more then just Italian food, I can see they’re aiming to offer something for everyone, especially catering to the local Bengali community. The food is slightly on the pricier side, but the quality and experience make it worth it. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their dishes. Went with the family to Lava Rock kitchen tonight. The have halal Pan-Asian and Italian food. The food was amazing, the ambiance of the restaurant is very inviting and upscale. The staff and the owner are very attentive and polite. Always checking on you to make sure your ok. If your in the area or even if your not its worth a drive to this place. My family and I cant wait to go back.

I had such a great experience at Lava Rock Kitchen. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they really make you feel at home. The food was excellent, especially the lamb koftha kebab, which was absolutely amazing. It was perfectly seasoned and very flavorful. Everything else we tried tasted fresh and full of care. The space is very clean and polished, making it perfect for a dinner. I left already excited to come back. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

Went to dinner here for my mother's birthday, and it was lovely. The ambiance is great, the restaurant is super clean, the food was delicious and prepared with care, drinks were amazing. The staff are incredible. Murshed bhai and Riyad Bhai are very attentive and kind. They make you feel like family and go above and beyond. They did a phenomenal job on making this birthday a special one for my mother. Love the location, great for Halal Bronx dining.

I was looking for a new Italian place to try in the Bronx and Google lead me to Lava Rock Kitchen. Food: The complimentary bread is so good! I had to put it across the table to stop eating it. The fried mozzarella was a twist for me and it was yummy but, I prefer a crispy breading with a cheese pull to it. The Ravioli Alfredo with chicken is amazing and packed with flavor and highly recommended! They have an item not on the menu called “Misto di Carne” it’s a sampler basically with steak, chicken, lamb chops, potatoes, and zucchini fries. The stars for me were the zucchini fries(sooo good), lamb chops, and potatoes. The steak was a lil too well done since I asked for medium well. The sauces on the plate complemented the dish very well! I also had a spicy mango mocktail that was delicious! If they had alcohol I would’ve had a few of them. LOL Service: 5 stars! Riyadh provided great service and really took care of me. As someone else mentioned they automatically charge 18% on the ticket so watch that when tipping especially since the receipt gives a suggested tip amount again. His service was worth the 18% though so I didn’t complain. I would definitely return to this restaurant again and I hope others support this local business.

Food was amazing came out quickly too, didn’t catch the server’s name but he was amazing and very accommodating to food allergies and such. I’d recommend coming if you want to try some authentic italian food (and it’s halal). Drinks were good too I got the peach bellini and yeah ill give this restaurant a 9/10 and id recommend giving it a try.

I had dinner here and it was overall a good experience. It’s a fine dining Italian concept with great flavors. Service was attentive and the food was what you would expect. I’d recommend their chicken lollipop and pastas. Specifically their garlic Alfredo sauce. It’s not a 5/5 because I thought it wasn’t as cost effective.

Food tastes good no doubt, but over priced. I ordered steak, it was almost $35 with no sides. Mostly all kinds of steak comes with at least 2 sides either French fries or mash potatoes or rice, but they have nothing else. They charged taxes which is good, but they also charge 18% some other kinds of fees. And the irritating waiter who speaks multiple European languages, irritates you with his nonsense talking.

Overall 3 star rating due to the experience with the food. It was quiet when we walked in and we were seated pretty quickly. This is a new establishment so we decided to try it out. The service here is great and it’s one of the main reasons they are getting a 3 star rating. We ordered a mango mojito, steamed dumplings with a side of a chili sauce, a porterhouse steak medium rare and a tortellini pasta. The server took our order and quite some time after we began to get served food. We first received a complimentary bread basket with marinara sauce which was delicious. Shortly after we were served our dumplings which were delicious as well. Followed up later with a plain mint mojito. I asked the waiter if this was supposed to be the mango mojito and he proceeded to tell me that the mango version is only served as a spicy drink which we did not want. This was the first error in communication for the night. After about 45 mins we were finally served our steak. After trying to cut into it I realized that it was definitely not medium rare. I called over the owner who happened to be at the restaurant tonight and questioned him about the steak. He apologized and took it back to get a new one and asked the waiter who took our order. Shortly after the waiter came back and asked me again how I asked for the steak to be served and I said medium rare. Shortly after that again the owner came back to apologize again and stated the new steak will be out shortly. I took this opportunity to ask when my wife would get her tortellini pasta and he said asked what pasta? I stated the one we previously ordered with the original order. He responded “That wasn’t added to the original order. The waiter must have forgot”. This was the second instance of miscommunication. Ultimately to cut the rest of the review short, we were served the porterhouse steak and pasta. The steak was still not butter soft as I would have expected medium rare porterhouse to be and the pasta was not boiled enough and was sort of hard to eat. The owner did provide us with a complimentary dessert. Overall I will not be returning. I appreciate the owner for taking his time to make things right and offering us complimentary items. Hope this review can be received as constructive criticism.

The bread, sauce & meatball here are the best items here and the only items worth the $$ Their service is ridiculously slow. It takes hours to get your food. There is also an 18% gratuity automatically added to bills which I absolutely despise. Why would I even tip that much for over an hour of wait? The food here is already expensive. Nothing spectacular for the price. Food did come out hot, the mocktail bar was not open. For sure over hyped.

We came to this restaurant for a Valentine’s Day dinner but left disappointed. The servers were kind, but it appeared the restaurant was understaffed and as a result service was very slow. It took an hour for the first of our three dishes to come out, but the fish was barely cooked. At that point, we decided to leave.

My first time I ordered takeout of their Homemade Lasagna, it was good. Today I took my niece and nephew for dinner here and it wasn’t the same. I ordered the Ravoli Pasta, it was ok. My nephew ordered the Lava Rock Burger, it was cold. My niece ordered the Chili Chicken fried rice and it was luke warm. I notified the waiter and he proceeded to tell me it was because it took some time to serve so it got cold and he can microwave it. The food was out in like 20 minutes. I am not upset about the pricing but I am disappointed about the quality of the food. Overall will not be coming back.

I ordered the Alfredo ravioli with chicken today and unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. The cheese ravioli and sauce were just average, nothing special but what really bothered me was the chicken. It had a strange, off-putting smell, like it had gone bad or had been frozen way too long. It definitely didn’t taste fresh, and it made the whole dish unappetizing. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience. The quality of ingredients should be a lot better, especially at this price point

The food was absolutely terrible. I ordered the Lava Rock Burger, and the patty was almost raw. The fries that came with it were completely undercooked and not edible at all. Even the pizza wasn’t up to the mark. Very disappointed with the overall quality.

Interior is nice, service is good but the quality of food is below average. NY strip was probably below the Select grade, it lacked flavor and taste. Chicken taco was salty and flavorless. Pizza was horrible, had little to no cheese with toppings falling all over. Ended up not trying it but Server was nice enough to issue a refund for the pizza. Place has potential only if they improve their food quality.

The overall atmosphere and environment was good. Good environment and ambiance. However the food is overpriced. Considering the prices you would think you’re eating at a 5-7 star hotel. The food tasted bland and average, something that even a normal “Joe” can cook. They also charge 18% for gratuity with every bill on dine in. Not necessarily ideal. I personally wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you have no choice. It’s okay to try but would I recommend other people to come in as well? I’m not sure. They need to improve their quality before it comes close to what they price their food as. Best of luck and hope my feedback helps other customers.
