First time at Taqueria Tlaxcalli and their food was delicious. Staff was friendly and they provided exellent service from beginning to the end. Our dine-in experience was great!

I have been eating here for years!! They have the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. I do not say this lightly; I truly mean it. I have gone to various other Mexican restaurants and have found myself longing for their food. After years of going there, I thought I would write an amazing review for them. I am currently craving there food 😋 My personal favorites are any of their burritos, literally can’t find one as good as theirs, and the birria tacos. You will not be disappointed!! Happy eating!!

What a great Mexican restaurant! We recently popped in here after reading a great review and ordered the burrito al pastor, cheese enchiladas and taco combo. Everything was so delicious; the flavors were so fresh and bold. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

The food is really good! It's a bit pricey but has decent portions for the burritos. Called and asked about gluten-free options, which I saw online that they have, and the person said, "I don't know, sorry." Didn't try to ask someone or anything. Other than that, the food is great.

A hidden gem, been in this area many years but didn't know about this place until a couple of years ago. This place is small and extremely busy at times because the food is great and prices are even better. I recommend this place to all my family and friends.

I discovered this Mexican spot the day my 5 year old niece graduated. My sister and I took a chance because we were craving something new. Well, let me say this place did not disappoint. My steak burrito was delish. I especially loved the different sauces that they spread across the burrito. It's like a cute design with all of this color and delish flavor. My niece had the chicken burrito and loved it. The French fries are so yummy. I also enjoyed the chips and guacamole, but you absolutely can't go wrong with the burrito. It's better than any burrito spot I EVER tried. The service was also very quick. I was concerned about that because some of the reviews stated that the wait is too long, but thankfully that wasn't my experience. Definitely give this spot a try if you're looking for delicious burritos.

While the food here it's absolutely amazing, I highly recommend their tacos. They are huge, 2-3 tacos at most and you will be fulfilled. The environment isn't very pleasant for a date night as the place it's very tiny for dining room space but, as a regular couple it's a great choice. Not to mention, their kitchen is open late. I was here after 11pm and still ordered tacos and main dish.

When I’m near Parkchester I always stop by because it’s so good! The cucumber mint lemonade was top tier deliciousness 🤤 and the alambres with steak hit the spot 😁

We recently moved to Starling Ave and this place caught my eye, decided to try them out tonight. The steak tacos were phenomenal, chorizo was spicy and the carnitas was flavorful. Tacos were packed with meat. I got an agua de Jamaica to wash everything down with and that was bomb as well. Consider this restaurant my go to in the neighborhood

One of the best burritos I ever had! The spicy pork and the carnitas were both perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The combination of sauces that the burrito is beautifully topped with is delicious. And the service is great!

This place is an absolute hidden gem in the Bronx and is never crowded because it is so far away from Manhattan. The burrito from Taqueria Tlaxcalli was featured back in 2014 in the website 538.com’s national burrito bracket and made the final 4 out of the nation’s best 64 burritos. After eating here twice (once in 2014 and once recently), there’s very clearly a good reason why that was the case. The place itself is rather quaint, but there’s definitely room to have your meal. They do a great fresh made to order guacamole and the drinks are solid (my wife for a margarita that was tasty). The burrito is the main attraction and it doesn’t disappoint. It is absolutely massive and is a burrito that does require knife and fork. The tortilla is perfectly warmed up and the burrito is drizzled with a combination of very tasty sauces. They also provide hot sauce on the side for those wanting extra spice. The contents of the burrito are perfection - the rice and beans are cooked properly and the meats (I’ve had the carnitas and steak) are extremely juicy and tender. Make the trek here if you have the time - it’s worth it!!

I been to this many times before this time got crispy chicken tacos with everything on it with avocado sauce and habanero sauce, in the past I had got the shrimp fajita rice and beans and they give some steam tortilla and I made fajita tacos, also I try the steak Burrito I recommend everything on the menu just to name a few.

Great food. I loved the cheese-stuffed-Chiles. They weren’t as spicy as I expected. The best coffee I have had in a long time. It was cinnamon flavor. It happily surprised me. I say this by experience. I am a big time Mexican food lover and if you want authentic flavor, you must go to a whole in the wall and not a fancy restaurant. I found this little restaurant searching my Google maps and I must say that the food is delis and legit Mexican. Love it!

Went I with my girlfriend expecting nothing much. I was blown away by the food that came out the kitchen. The shrimp burrito that I ordered tasted very fresh and had more than 12 pieces of shrimp. The cochinita pibil Gordian that the gf ordered was great also.

The food was authentically Mexican. The appetizers and the entrees were mouthwatering tantalizing. And the prices were very reasonable for the portions we received. Would definitely recommend

It’s been a few months since I discovered this little Mexican gem in the middle of a Bangladesh neighborhood. I come to the Bronx every Friday for work and most of the time I order from here. I’m Latina and was happily surprised to have this place right my be. Food is delicious and ladies are nice! I love the gorditas and quesadillas, I gotta and will try more stuff ! They deserve a nice review !

By far my favorite place to get mexican food. I can personally say I've had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Everything is amazing from the chicken burrito, nachos, tacos de chorizo or any of the platters. Parking isn't the greatest here but I usually end up parking a block or two away and walk. Tlaxcali makes me feel like I'm back home in Los Angeles. Authentic and delicious. I usually drive 45 minutes to an hour with traffic but thats ok.

So I've only been here once prior years ago and after today I'll make sure it'll never take me anywhere as long to go back. I ordered my food over the phone near closing and the hospitality I received from them was second to none. Outside of their food being amazing, their customer service is just the same. From the woman who took my order over the phone to the other woman who made sure my drink was wrapped up well so it wouldn't spill speaks volumes. This will be one of my go to spots.

I ordered through seamless from this place. The tacos were not bad, some of the best tacos I had in the Bronx. The price through seamless does not justify for this establishment being in the Bronx. I spent $34 for one taco, quesadilla, and a small guacamole. However the guacamole is a joke! I thought it would be 8oz, it’s literally in a small condiment container-2oz.

Very cute little hole in the wall if you are looking for a place that closes a little later than usual. Food is a little expensive but the portions are decent enough. If you don't mind seeing the workers cook your food you would enjoy the space.

I've overheard some guys saying they loved Taqueria's tacos. Tonight was my night to try it out. I ordered the Tacos Dorados. That was my first time eating fried tacos. My food tasted good, the service was nice and the price was even better. I'm giving Tlaxcalli 4 out of 5 only because I didn't like the look and feel of the restaurant. I'd have them deliver to me next time.

3.5 stars I always passed by this place while grocery shopping and gave it go today. I ordered 4 tacos Mexican style (steak, beef tongue, tripe and shrimp) which I liked the tripe the best out of the 4, the shrimp was nice and sweet however I felt they all were lacking flavor. The salsas that accompanied the tacos were spot one! The quesadillas were a different style than what you normally get but they were a hit. The service was super nice and friendly and next time I totally want to try their horchata and burrito.

If you want a more Authentic Mexican restaurant feel without the "Grass Wall" feel then this is the place. Staff is friendly, food comes out piping hot, and drinks are limited but is more Mexican leaning authentic (ex: Hibiscus margarita with tajin on the rim) They get A TON of mobile delivery orders so that says a lot on its own. If you're looking for the music playing atmosphere then this not it BUT if you want a more simple relax just wanna eat and conversate over great food then this is for you

The best Mexican in the Bronx top 10 in New York five boroughs you have to have the burrito and the story it could feed too, but you won’t want to pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. They should have more desserts but the little they have is great even their juices. It’s a little pricey for being in Parkchester but nothing good comes cheap.

I like the food and I want to come here often, but the staff is what keeping me from committing to this place. They are visibly stressed and I feel as if I'm not empowered to come back. Working in services is hard and pretending to like some random person walking-in to your restaurant is harder. If I was the owner, I'd give the staff a raise to make sure their efforts to provide a decent service is well compensated. Alas, I have a feeling that the owner is very short-sighted and won't actually raise their pay. I guess I will need to find a different place to order from.

Here is my experience . . . We have ordered from here for a few years and absolutely love their food. Unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience this time around. Called in for delivery and within 40 minutes we received our food. There was a mix-up with my order so I called to figure out what could be adjusted. The person I spoke with was making it a challenge to find a simple solution. We agreed on trading food items and the remaining funds. When the delivery came we traded items but I didn’t get my refund. I called to figure out what happened and after a few called back and forth she progressively continue handle things in a disrespectful manor. I eventually got my money but to be honest I’m going to hold back from ordering here for a while. Note: Their food is delicious and the wait isn’t bad. It just changed my experience and didn’t get to enjoy my food how I would have liked.

My fault - I had very high expectations for this place based on my friends' recommendations. It is okay but nothing really special. I am not even sure it is authentic Mexican food - very americanized and the flavor was not that great. I think at the end of the dinner the bill was pretty high for the food quality. It is okay but I am not sure I'd come back.

I enjoyed a bountiful al pastor and chicken taco. They were 3 times the size of a normal mexican taco. Both had good flavor, but the al pastor was a bit different then normal. Also had a order of chicken flautas which were on point. It had many reviews on google and I was in the area so I decided to try it. I ordered here the last 4 times or so and the meat tastes really weird, and I would end up having a stomachache or vomiting. They charged me $7 plus tax for 2 scrambled eggs. I explained I needed it for my infant who I was traveling with from out of state: I was charged the equivalent of 2 dozen eggs. Theives. Refused to refund me. Reporting to BBB.

The portion was nice, but I couldn't eat my Burrito due to it having tomatoes inside of it. The manager responded he could make me another but would charge me! I ordered a shrimp burrito in which it's not on the menu so I didn't know tomatoes was mixed with the shrimp. No comparison at all! So make sure you ask questions before ordering. Place is very small, not the same place on the photo!

Terrible service. They messed up my order and refused to take responsibility, then when I persisted to have them replace the order they asked for me to return the original half eaten order in order first. This is a clear health violation and is not a okay anywhere else in America. What a shame. Owner replied to review claiming I ate half the order, which is a lie! I did not bring the wrong food back, because no where in America would that be expected in a restaurant in order for them to correct my meal. Instead they are claiming that their customer is lying and demanding more food, which only cost $15. This just proves how bad the customer service is and how cheap the owner is. Why would anyone bring back in a order, which was only a few bites before realizing it was wrong the order. Operators of the restaurant are proving they are unprofessional and cheap, and accusing that customers want to get over. Please look at the reply to this review to see exactly how ridiculous the restaurant sounds. They have plenty of other reviews on here noting the rudeness of the workers.
