Lots of fun, bummed the Tiger exhibit and monorail weren't open when we went but it gives us a reason to go again. Everything from the tickets to the food to the gift shops is overpriced. Vegan options were good, liked the bowls despite being 17 bucks (!!!). Traffic getting in AND out was horrendous. 5 stars because they're the best in the region and they do good work with the money they extort from us. 🫶

Had an amazing day today. I enjoyed every animal I was able to see during my visit today. My favorite animals I got to see today were the bears, lions, snow leopards, and the many different kinds of birds. The zoo was kept up well. Got there at noon and ran short of time to see all of the zoo. Was able to get some great photos during my visit as well.

I love the Bronx Zoo. It’s always an amazing experience being surrounded by nature and seeing animals from all over the world right in the middle of the city. It’s a place where you can relax, learn something new, and just enjoy the moment. Definitely one of the best spots to visit in New York. 🐅🦒🌿

The place is huge, so you need to check online for a guide to save a lot of time! The staff's service attitude has always been excellent, which is why we keep going back.

Wonderful zoo. With so many animals. I had a great time here but I was able just to see half of the museum. I recommend allocating at least half a day if you want to see all the exhibitions. I was able to see the lions but not the giraffe and bears. I recommend going during the morning to see more animals.

Great time at zoo. Go early 10 am when opens seemed very active with animals and not very crowded. Don't skip out on monorail it's fun. Lots of animals and places to stop and rest if needed. Had a great time getting some crisp shots of some of my favorite animals here in the zoo. I’d definitely recommend coming here as you can spend about 6 hours or more walking around. Too many animals to count. Need to come back again since some animals weren’t in their enclosure. Every enclosure was very well kept. The train station inside the zoo is also a great ride to go on. You can see animals from a higher perspective. All shots taken with my canon R5.

Had a wonderful day with family. Shady, well-maintained paths. Wednesdays are free general admission days. That's fantastic for many families. There are parking fees & entry fees for special exhibits, but it's all worth it. The animals had lots of room to move about with open & shaded areas. The monorail was a wondeful way to see some of the larger animals. The employees were so polite & helpful. I'd definitely go back.

Great place to visit, just a few small things to note The Bronx Zoo is a beautiful and well-organized zoo with a wide variety of animals and spacious paths for walking. It’s a great place to spend a day with family or friends. The layout feels very natural, and the environment is lush and green, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Just a small note – some enclosures have a lot of trees, and at times it can be a bit difficult to spot the animals. A nice bonus: admission is free on Wednesdays, but you must reserve tickets in advance online. Overall, it’s a fun and worthwhile experience.

So large it doesn't feel crowded. We were a group of 4. We paid for a private cart tour and it was so worth it. Our tour guide was wonderful (Stephanie I think, sorry I am terrible at remembering names). The cart was good as we were able to cover many areas in a shorter period of time. We also did the fennac fox connection. Our cart tour guide was also the guide for this experience. The burrito bowl at the cafe was delicious. Prices for cafe and gift shop were a kinda high. Def. worth a visit.

Getting the membership is highly if you have a family of 4 or more. It pays itself off after 1 visit, you get to participate in all of the attractions, get discount on the food and merchandise, and you get free entry year round to all the NYC Zoos

The Bronx Zoo is one of the main attractions of NYC that everyone must visit at least once in their lifetime. With over 265 acres and more than 11,000 animals, it's always an adventure. You can get here either by car, bus, or train. If you do plan on driving, get here early. While there is parking, spots are limited! Several Star Attractions that you have to see are: Jungle World; Wild Asia Monorail; Nature Trek; Congo Gorilla Forest; Butterfly Garden; Dinosaur Safari; and the Children's Zoo. I recommend going to the Wild Asia Monorail or the Congo Gorilla Forest first. These two star attractions are zoo visitor's favorite, so there are always long lines for them! When visiting the zoo, check the weather as well. I recommend early Autumn or mid-Spring. The temperature would not be scorching hot or too cold. I went with friends on a sunny day, but with the high temperature, most of the animals were trying to cool down in the shades. For those of you planning on visiting soon, I suggest holding off for another two weeks. The Bronx Zoo will be opening their World Of Darkness exhibit, featuring nocturnal animals, in mid-July. One of exhibits is vampire bats!

The zoo never disappoints. It is a magical place where anyone can experience the beauty of all the animals there. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I only had a short visit this time but will definitely go back for another visit soon.

If you visit the Bronx Zoo, you cannot skip the bird exhibits. The World of Birds is an architectural and natural marvel—it’s a two-story indoor rainforest where birds fly freely around you. Seeing the hornbills and the "simulated thunderstorms" inside is such a cool, immersive experience. The World of Birds features several open exhibits, allowing visitors to observe the birds in large spaces that feature no glass or mesh barriers.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Bronx Zoo! There were no long lines, and everything was well organized. Parking was easy and convenient. The animals are clearly well cared for and kept in great conditions. Everything was clean, including the restrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The zoo was very big and had a lot of incredible animals to see! I was here from open to close and didn't get to see everything! I did take my time and choose what meant the most to me and was very intentional about what I was ok with missing for the day, though. The gift shop had a lot of great souvenirs to pick from with reasonable prices. I did not go into the café to see what they had to offer. The architecture was breathtaking and worth the visit all on its own! Look closely at the buildings in the zoo center to see all the cool animals carved into the stone by the rooves of the buildings. The fountain and various statues are amazing as well. I went on a Tuesday and it wasn't very busy, which was lovely! If you happen to take the subway there, the stop by the zoo has gorgeous stained glass depicting various animals that they feature at the zoo!

The zoo has a big diversity of exhibits. I can easily take a couple days to explore. If you only have one day, suggest planning your day before you arrive to see as many exhibits. The dinosaur Safari exhibit was unique for a zoo. It does cost an extra fee but highly recommend

When you have a kid, you get to experience zoo like never before. The family membership is quite worth it if you would like to create lots of amazing memories with you kid.

We had the best time. It’s a great place to walk and exercise a little expensive, but what’s not these days? I would say the best part was the grizzlies and the grizzlies. My, people Wednesdays are free. But there’s some attractions you need to pay for, but the park is free.

I recently visited the zoo for the first time and had an amazing experience! I went on a Wednesday, which is their free admission day—a huge bonus. The process to get in was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised by how large and well-kept the grounds were. I spent about 3 to 4 hours exploring and could’ve easily stayed longer. The animals looked well cared for, and there were plenty of exhibits to enjoy—from big cats and bears to birds, reptiles, and aquatic life. One thing I really appreciated was how family-friendly the zoo felt. There were lots of shaded areas, benches, and open spaces to rest or take photos. The staff was also friendly and helpful, and even though it was a free day, the park never felt overcrowded. Pro tip: definitely bring your own lunch! There are designated picnic areas and plenty of space to sit and eat. Food prices inside are typical for a tourist spot (a bit high), so packing a meal is a smart move. Another great thing—bags aren’t checked, so you can bring snacks, drinks, or even a small cooler with no problem. All in all, I had a great time and would absolutely go again. Whether you’re going with kids, friends, or solo, there’s something for everyone. Free Wednesdays are such a great opportunity to enjoy a day out without spending a lot of money. Highly recommend planning a visit!

This is super cool 😎, it’s the best zoo I’ve seen till now, all animals are kept in most possible natural habitats. Indoor spaces are very nicely designed. 100% worth for your money and time. Lot of animals like lion, tiger, elephant, red panda, camel, rhinoceros so on which we can’t see much in US. Wednesday entry is free with some limited access to certain places. Mono rail raid was really nice experience after long walk inside. Only problem is have walk a lot so better buy season pass and do multiple visit to cover all area.

My kids and I absolutely love it here. The energy is amazing, the animal options are amazing. We have a membership so we go to the zoo 4-6 times per year. Each visit is always as if it was our first. Staff are helpful, Food is pricy but good. Refillable cups are optional. Not once have we ever had an issue nor complaint. Price of membership is super worth it considering how often i like to visit. There is also a petting zoo section for the children, you can exchange coins for food and feed them. Winter time is the most beautiful because of the events they have such as Boo at the Zoo and the Holiday lights. This is a must whether you live in New York or are visiting! - adding on to this for a visit we had August 14, it was a members visit with activities like face painting, drawing, VR with moving seats with dinosaur theme, and small pop up sing along. Absolutely amazing event ! Adding pictures as well.

The Bronx Zoo was really great! It was pretty clean and there really are several different places to explore and dozens of awesome animals to see! The monorail was awesome, oir conductor was amazing (I want to say his name is Matt but I may be mistaken), and if you are a fan of walking, I saw nearly everything and walked probably 4 to 5 total miles. It was awesome. It really feels like a tiny aspect of Disney which is super fun! I'm excited to go back.

This was a bucket list item for me so I was excited to see everything. Parking was about 22 dollars. Arrived at opening, and so glad we did as I was not prepared at how big this park is! First, wear comfortable shoes you will be walking a lot. Secondly, absolutely recommend the monorail to see some of the animals, and take advantage of the shuttles, this will allow you to see the whole zoo. Lastly, go onto the website and use the interactive map, when you open it allow access so it will get your location within the park, this will help immensely as we turned around a lot because you do get turned around quite easily.

Bring comfortable shoes you don’t mind getting a little dirt on because you’ll be walking a lot 😁 Each species were in their own habitat, so really cool when you transition from one to another. The signs were somewhat confusing, but eventually you’ll be going down the designed pathway—just don’t go down the “do not enter” paths. A great time for all ages. Don’t forget to check out each gift shop at the end of each species and habitat for souvenirs.

Absolutly amazing, very clean, friendly staff, lots to do! Seeing the animals in their habitats mixed was amazing to see hiw the interacted together. (Some monkeys and gazell, as well as many birds where mixed species) absolutly worth the ticket cost.

The Bronx Zoo is an excellent place to visit with kids (especially school-age and up). While some attractions have an extra cost, your admission ticket already covers most of what you’ll want to see. One of the best perks is that admission is free on Wednesdays—but you need to reserve your tickets online the Monday before.

Came with the family today and had a blast! Parking was super easy and affordable. The facilities were so clean, and everything was reasonably priced. There were an abundance of animals, easily laid out, and the highlight was the dinosaur exhibit. Highly recommend for a nice family day!

We visited the Bronx Zoo on a Tuesday, and it wasn’t too busy, which made the experience even better. We had the chance to see a wide variety of animals and enjoyed every moment. This was actually our second visit this month, but for some reason, we still couldn’t catch a glimpse of the hyenas or wild dogs. The zoo is a great place to spend the day, but be prepared for a lot of walking since everything is spread out and quite large. The food was decent, nothing special but good enough. The highlights for us were definitely the gorillas, tigers, lions, and bears – there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We also took some photos to capture what we saw. Overall, highly recommended for families and animal lovers!

I love the zoo! I visited on a Thursday, and even then the ticket system was down, they all were very helpful! There were a few summer day camp programs with kids visiting but nothing too hectic! I was able to get lunch and get a place to sit to eat! Saw so many animals 🦆🦌🦒🦭 Amazing time! ♥️

So big! So green! I really got my steps in. The exhibits were amazing! I really enjoyed all the birds. Nothing felt too crowded.... unless the school groups were nearby😂. Highly recommended!

Beautiful inside, clean, clearly marked, animals are healthy, though the Gorillas are mighty upset with the crowds and being ogled at , all day. It's $58 for 2, expensive , but worth it, since it's nonprofit and the funds are generated to give the animals a habitat batural to them

We have been going to the holiday lights at the Bronx zoo for years, and it's always delightful. This year they have added more lights and activities. The huge puppets are one of our favorite parts. This is a fun activity, even if the weather is freezing cold. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful, and there are so many people eager to share information about the animals. Also, peacocks sleep in trees!

This last weekend they had numerous activities for the kids. Also, the new halloween decoration for this year looks amazing. The animals made with real pumpkins are spectacular and unique. The best part? If you buy a souvenir cup, you can refill it with soft drinks at multiple stations throughout the zoo. This zoo is awesome! Be warned, there is A LOT of walking & not all the walking paths are wheel chair/stroller friendly. We went as a family of 5 with kids aging from 5 to 17. Everyone had a blast! Each exhibit has some interactive component. There are multiple restrooms around the park and cafes to grab food/drink. A few stroller parks outside of tight exhibits. Parking is $22 which is a bummer considering the walk from parking has ZERO sidewalks so you have to walk into oncoming traffic in both directions. We visited on a Saturday morning & had to wait 10+ mins to park. Once inside the zoo, we had zero complaints! The wide variety of animals was the most impressive part. We saw everything from gorillas to flamingos but our kids favorite exhibit was the Dinosaurs. All of the employees around the park were very helpful & full of knowledge of their “station” animals. While the tickets are pricey, i would say that it’s worth the price! Just pack a picnic lunch & make a day of it to get your monies worth 🙂

Beautiful zoo! Very friendly staff. Animals seemed happy. First thing in the morning was a good time to go. Not crowded & easy to see everything. Very big zoo! Take a water bottle for sure. My children lived feeding the pretty little birds!

A wonderful family-friendly zoo! We had such a great time visiting together. The giraffes were amazing, and we also got to see elephants and tigers up close. The Wild Asia Monorail was a real highlight with its guided tour. The Congo Gorilla Forest was fascinating—watching the gorillas was truly unforgettable. The Dinosaur Safari and Aquatic Bird House added even more excitement to our day, and we loved strolling along the peaceful and refreshing nature trail. Parking was convenient with ample space and multiple entry points through Parking Lots A, B, and C. The only drawback was the entry management at Lot A, which took a bit longer than expected to get parking tickets and enter. Overall, a fantastic experience for both kids and adults.

The snow leopards were cool. It was just all around. Great experience. Tigers were hiding though so they probably see me, but I couldn’t see them.

The souvenir shop definitely has affordable prices *2 for 34 shirts promo price* This zoo is very well kept the animal habitats were huge which made me realize how large the zoo is in comparison to my hometown. We definitely enjoyed our time there. Try the monorail experience, you could tell how much the driver/narrator enjoys his job because he made the experience that much more enjoyable.

I had never been before, and wished I had more time there. You absolutely cannot take it all in during one visit. Especially with children, theres so much to see and do. The buildings are beautiful and a throw back to the original zoo (now they're mostly for admin). The animals appeared well cared for with many open exhibits. We will be returning.

Amazing experience, the zoo is huge and definitely worth going if you’re in NY! The pricing was kind of crazy, but I guess worth it considering the zoo! There are tons of different animals, so I definitely recommend going really early, as soon as they open to experience everything. Make it a whole day thing, rather than trying to fit multiple activities in one day. Oh and also stay hydrated!

We attended for the Holiday Lights exhibition and it was wonderful. The kids loved the animals, Christmas trees, marshmallow roasting, and the bug themed merry-go-around. Friendly staff. Great Christmas and Holiday experience for families.

There's so much you can't see everything in a day, so prioritize the things which sound most interesting to your party, and make a route between them to make the most of the day. Animal exhibits close before the zoo itself does, also. The dinosaur animatronics are awesome, and won't be coming back for three more years once they're gone, so catch them before they go away if you can! The Wild Asia Monorail is also very awesome, with a guide telling you what you're seeing. The exhibits are incredibly impressive in realism and intricacy. Be sure to get your tickets online before you go, but the payment might be a little glitchy so don't do it too last minute.

This place rocks. The staff and customer service from my experience were really kind. I came primarily for the brown kiwi, but walking around the entire zoo was a blast. Even on a Saturday, the crowd wasn’t that overwhelming, and the monorail during peak hours had only a couple minutes wait. The zoo is also part of the WCS, and you can learn about their various wildlife conservation efforts. As they are a more ethical zoo, some exhibits, such as the giraffe + ostrich area, are really big and hard to get a good look of the animals. It ends up being a double-edged sword, but in the end it’s worth it. Overall, lots of fun and definitely recommend!

We have been members for quite a few years now. We recently went to visit to see the holiday lights and they did not disappoint. The food offerings have gotten better as the years go by. They've added a new tube sledding activity and it was VERY popular. The ice sculptors using chainsaw to sculpt ice never disappoint. We will be back!

Zoo is amazing...it was worth getting the membership. The exhibits were not only fun but knowledgeable. We went and they have these super fun carvings for their boo at the zoo event. Come prepared to walk but you won't be able to see everything in one day multiple trips will be required 😁😁

The Bronx Zoo is huge. You can tell it’s an amazing place, but since it’s winter, a lot of the animals were understandably kept inside to stay warm. Totally makes sense. I’d definitely recommend visiting in a warmer season so you can see more animals and really enjoy everything the zoo has to offer.

I went on a Friday morning at 10 in Dec. It was 45 minutes before I saw another guest. It was magically quiet to explore the zoo on my own. At least half, or maybe 3/5 if the animals were inside due to the cold weather and many exhibits were closed. I’m glad I went, but I can also see why others didn’t on such a cold morning.

A great place to visit on weekends for families. We visited in October, and the park were having a lot of events for kids to participate. They had Halloween candy trial and most kids were wearing costumes. The park is organized and designed well, so you can see every animal on the map in a smooth flow. Many cool animals and one of our favorites were sea lions. They were so excited and swimming around showing tricks. The giraffes are majestic, and they even had the Malayan tapir. Sufficient bathrooms around the park, but limited food choices.

Watching them strut with such elegance adds a layer of magic to the park that you just don’t get at most zoos. Lots of things to do and see. I saw a polar bear, an orangutan, and the special exhibition on horses. I was pleased to be there on Martin Luther king Jr day as it wasn’t very crowded. I caught the crocodile and alligator feeding. They had also just opened their aquarium, and I was able to see the blue whale show! Such a great birthday activity for the whole family!

I visited the Bronx Zoo on their free Wednesday and decided to upgrade for the special attractions — 100% worth it! The extra experiences really made the day. The dinosaur exhibit was such a fun surprise, the butterfly garden was peaceful and beautiful, and the gorilla exhibit was unforgettable. My absolute favorite was the monorail. The ride operator pointed out all the animals along the way, which made it even more exciting. We saw elephants, a tiger, and so many others up close from a totally different view. We also enjoyed watching the birds, seeing the sea lions being fed (such a fun show!), and checking out the reptile house with all the different snakes. One of the coolest moments was watching the bears take a swim to cool off on the hot day. It was so playful and fun to see. Overall, it was the perfect date with my boyfriend. We saw so many amazing animals, had great food (surprisingly tasty for a zoo!), and spent the whole day exploring. I highly recommend paying for the upgrade — it’s worth every penny for all the special attractions and experiences.

Its free on Wednesdays but you need to make a reservation and get tickets on line. Its better to go in the fall. The animals were overheated and were immobile trying to stay cool. You have to pay for the monorailsm That was fun. Alot of walking. Think we didn't get to see the whole zoo. Too hot. Also it was alot of little kids there on school trips. I love kids but rather wait until they're back in school. Nothing healthy to eat and the food was quite expensive. $10 for an Icee.

I had a fantastic time exploring the zoo. With so much to see and do, two days would be ideal to truly appreciate everything. Although I managed to see everything in one day, I felt rushed through some exhibits. The food was decent, as expected in a zoo setting. Overall, this is a wonderful zoo that I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't visited yet."

Loved the variety! Amazing place, loved the layout and the fact that you don't have to walk far from one sanctuary to another. I only wished that some of the animal habitats were better designed to show the animals: sometimes you pass by a habitat and you can't find the animal so you leave disappointed. Also bird poops on windows obscure a lot.

A lot of walking, be prepared, map out your route, start at asia gate and end at Fordham or bronx river gate. Bring your own snacks or the tenders & fries are good there too. Dress light in the spring/ summer, hat, sunscreen, mini fan, wagon or stroller for kids. Membership is worth it to visit multiple times to see entire zoo. Sometimes exhibits closed or animals hiding so you'll want to visit multiple times to catch the ones you missed.

So much fun. It’s a huge place, lots of areas to sit down and eat, lots of bathrooms spread out as well. Very worth it to add on admission to their star attractions that aren’t included with general admission such as the bug carousel, nature trek, children’s zoo, and more. I think it’d take two days to fully explore or a full day from opening to closing to finish walking the whole place. Deff recommend ordering tickets in advance, otherwise they’ll just shrug their shoulders and tell you to call whoever you need to call.

Can book online on a Monday at 5pm, for the visit on the Wednesday the same week. Choose between “free”= limited admission tickets (need to pay $7 for each star attraction if wanted), or “$17.95 for zoo admission” = includes all the premium star attractions (great deal! Plan to see all of the paid attractions). Can get timed-tickets on other days as well- check website for regular prices. Faster entry after scanning ticket QR codes. Brought food/drinks which are allowed (or can buy at kiosks but pricey). Hats, fan, sunblock, water helped bec. it got pretty hot. The animals usually are not as active at around noontime too so we did the indoor exhibits then. Unlike years ago, noticed less animals indoors and outdoors on our 2 visits this summer. Took the train- a bit more than 1-hr ride from Queens, ok since we got seats. Parking available for a fee, if prefer to drive.

This zoo is huge with so many fun animals for kids and adults to enjoy. They have a special kids section that is more like a farm and its setup to let kids interact with the animals, petting them or feeding. Highlights were the lions roaring and 5-6 giraffes in clear sight. My favorite part of the zoo is the landscape and natural feel due to so many trees and large expansive areas for the animals. It’s a lot bigger than expected and the family membership really pays off with easy parking included. There are plenty of food options but I think the quality could be a little better and it’s expensive. Slightly harsh but that’s the reason for missing a 5th star.

Visited for free on a Wednesday with pre-reserved timed tickets online. Found free street parking near the Southern Boulevard entrance. The information panels about the animals throughout this the zoo were fun and educational. It was a rainy day but saw plenty of animals outside including the rhinoceros, sea lions, tortoises, deer, flamingos, bison. There were lemur, crocodile, boa snake, and mongoose in the indoor Madagascar exhibit. Part of it was too dark to read any of the descriptions or see any of the animals. The beginning part of indoor Aquatic Bird House had a bad smell, may need more cleaning and ventilation, but was good near the puffin penguins. There could be additional signage and map placement as some were far apart and some intersections were not clear. Sadly did not see the tigers or bears in those outdoor sections but roamed around for 2 hours and would say we covered about 30% of the zoo. Overall very good experience and will visit again.

It is very convenient to go there ( by bus/train) if you don't have a car. The place is clean and has a food court everywhere if you are hungry and restrooms too. Our family likes there to spend all day, especially that butterfly ride. If going with toddlers, don't forget your stroller and book ticket in advance online it's $10 cheaper that buying from there over the counter.

Was very clean and nice exhibits. Lots of property and lots of walking but they did same to have a little train type thing to bus people around. Nice place to visit. Had lunch there which was a quinoa bowl which was very good.

Visited the zoo during their holiday lights event (Saturday). It was a family friendly event with beautiful lights that flowed throughout the entire zoo. There was live music, an holiday train, an area to make s'mores, etc. It wasn't too crowded and it was definitely a festive experience.

There is a lot of ground to cover in this huge zoo. Wear your walking shoes and be ready. You can bring in food and drink from the outside. For as large as the zoo is it seems that the enclosures for the animals are really very small. Many animals seem very unhappy, and very confined. The older area of the zoo is very beautiful and well laid out. The newer area was designed less thoughtfully and causes you to have to back track multiple times to see everything. The nocturnal exhibit was by far our favorite. It was well done and the animals fun to see. The zoo is free on Wednesdays, but you must reserve your tickets in advance. If entering with the Wednesday free pass there are parts that you are unable to view without an upgraded ticket. The photo shows all of the areas that you either need to pay per person, per experience or buy the upgraded ticket.

It was an amazing experience visiting the Bronx Zoo! The park is beautiful, the animals are well cared for, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. It’s truly one of the best places in New York to spend the day with family or friends. The only small downside was that the monorail wasn’t operating during the season, which I wish had been mentioned clearly on the website before purchasing the tickets. It would help visitors plan their day better. Overall, though, it was a wonderful trip — highly recommended

The zoo is big with a lot of interesting animals. However, I recommend going in seasons other than winter since you won’t be able to see many animals. You can also go for free on Wednesdays if you get tickets in advance.

One of the best zoos in the country. I have been to zoos all over the US and this ranks up there in the top 10. The park is huge and the animals are in large enclosures each with a sign detailing everything about the animal. The park has clear signage to guide you and it's safe due to an NYPD substation being inside the park. There is multi tier pricing. For a base price you can see the animals but not the special exhibits. There is a second price for the special exhibits and yes they check at each one. Parking is also a little expensive but that's to be expected. The park is constantly being updated which I appreciate. There are some decent food and beverage options and of course there are souvenir stores throughout. The monorail is a must as is tiger mountain and the newly renovated world of darkness. One of the best things that I have done at the zoo is the wildlife encounters. For a price you meet at the zoo center and are given a quick tour of some of the animals and are then taken to an education building where you are put up close with different animals. I have done the tour with big cats, sloths and also the animals that were featured on the TV show the zoo. You can also do private tours and other encounters. The zoo also does brew at the zoo, a holiday lights event and a fall/Halloween event.

The best part of the bronx zoo was the Dinosaurs they where there. No lions, bears, monkeys, etc. All the animals were sleeping or out. Was a bad trip, or should I say, a dino-mite disappointment?

Huge zoo, lot of walking, animals are not so thrilled and “optimistic”. Its good to buy full admision tickets for all atractions so that you can see montrail and congo forest. Price varies on particular days. Organization is very good. Enclosures are astonishing, very detailed and enough space to give “enough” room for “normal” living in the zoo.

It was a very hot day, so that could have altered our experience. There was a lot of walking and many empty areas where my kids were searching for an animal but they couldn't be found. I would definitely say if you go with kids, don't expect to see everything in 1 visit. We saw about half the zoo and were exhausted so we left. My kids liked the dinosaur exhibit. I had really hoped it would have been a ride though to make it feel like a safari adventure or something. Walking through it made it a bit less exciting. We may try to visit again in a cooler season. For a hot summer day, it was a lot.

Was a little underwhelmed as we heard how fabulous the Bronx Zoo was. But not all attractions are available due to repairs/renovations or having to purchase tickets for individual exhibits. This was very surprising as I am a member of Melbourne Zoo and you get up to seven different parks/attractions per membership. Not restricted by individual exhibitions tickets…. Saw hardly any animals

This review is for the Christmas celebration. I cannot find a separate Google listing for the Christmas lights event, so here it is! Overall, it was enjoyable, but not as much as I had hoped! Previous to this, the only zoo Christmas experience I had been to was the Los Angeles zoo. Which is not to the caliber of the San Diego zoo or Seaworld. Yet, they still did an amazing job at creating entertaining displays! I thought that the displays at the Bronx zoo were a little underwhelming. In some sections, they were still using the white wire flat cut outs with white Christmas lights… Wasn’t that so 25 years ago? I want to see more of the lantern animals! It was a beautiful display, which was my favorite of dolphins and underwater creatures. But outside of that many of the lantern animals were just put in empty land clearing. The Los Angeles zoo created more of a display vignette. Including light up plants and Music. Come on New York! Show up the West Coast.

Terrible experience. We went in March and most animals were kept indoors or were hiding due to the cold. Would recommend during the summer months might be better.

I don't think it's fair that you pay the same amount of money for the tickets when it's winter or its summer because during the winter time most of the animals are kept closed because of the cold weather so I couldn't see lions and elephants or many others. Servicea were poor too, as it was only one restaurant open so you needed to go through the whole park for a coffee. I paid and extra fee to visit four special attractions, but two were closed and another one was opened for everyone during winter, so I threw the money down the toilet. I think they should advise the users of all these situations before buying the tickets.
