Their bagels are the best around. Their cream cheese is always fresh. Salad bar is also yummy. They are so efficient too. They always keep the line moving. It is a little pricier but well worth it.

Great amount of options, love the veggie cream cheese. The bagels are always very good sizes and taste for the price. Lines are not usually long especially in the mid day. The egg sandwiches were pretty good as well

Hands down the best bagels you can get in Brooklyn or all NYC. I was a Brooklyn native and I definitely came here all the time and now that I come to visit Brooklyn two or three times a year I still have to come back to my favorite bagel place. This staff is on it, they are not wasting time trying to figure things out. You are in and out with wonderful service and delicious food!

I tried a few bagel places in NYC but none of them I found as good as Bagel Boy. Their bagels are big, have the right texture and flavour. The cream cheese selection is quite nice too and they have a lot of other snacks and drinks, so it's the perfect breakfast takeout spot in Bay Ridge.

Best bagels in Brooklyn and in New York City. Great array of bagels and cream cheeses. Best garlic bagels hands down. The French toast bagels are surreal and are a must especially with the maple walnut cream cheese. They have eggs, the meats and other food besides cream cheese.

Bagel Boy has been my number 1 breakfast stop on the way to work for as long as I can remember. Bagels are always well stocked and so fresh it is just dreamy good stuff.

I recently had bagel boy cater a small brunch at my home and they did an extraordinary job. Everyone raved about the fresh bagels, rolls, meats, lox, tuna, whitefish, egg salad, fruit, muffins, salads, and cream cheeses. Everything was extraordinarily fresh, delicious, and presented just beautifully. The coffee was also a hit. People are still talking about it after two days! Thank you bagel boy for making my cute little brunch a success! I will definitely have them cater another event I throw again.

Incredible service. There was a long line when I arrived, and yet they still treat every single person with attentiveness and care. They remembered my order when I was still waiting for an item, even with the rush. The lady running the cashier counter was personable and offers to remake coffee should it not be to your liking. The food was also great and I will definitely be coming back to get more bagels.

Food quality and service are always good. However, today I put their customer service to the test and they passed with flying colors. Long story short, they gave me the wrong order-it happens. I called once I got home and was prepared for BS. BUT the manager did the right thing and had the correct order delivered to my house. Customer service win ! Well done.

This is the way a proper quality bagel is made. Boiled first so it is gooey on the inside and then baked so it is chewy on the oitside. Alot of other bagel stores only bake the bagels so they taste like regular bread. Try having a bagel out of state. They mostly suck. A Bagel Boy quality bagel should have 5 star reviews from everyone. I read some of the bad reviews and they are ridiculous. The place is super busy so you are waiting and some orders get mixed up. So what, deal with it.

Think twice about Uber Eats. ---------------- My young daughter made an order on UberEats without permission. I immediately contacted UE to cancel the order (I mean within 2 mins.). We received an update two days later that we would not receive a refund, it was too late Bagel Boy already made the order. Surely, if they made the order they would have tried to deliver it right? But we never received the order. This didn't seem very fair. I called Bagel Boy and explained the situation. UberEats was not willing to refund the order. We were fine with that as long as we received the order. Would they be willing to make it? We would even come pick it up. The girl I chatted with needed to see if she could find the original order. I waited on hold and then a man picked up. I found myself explaining all over again. He said he would take my number and call me back to make the situation right. Well, he never called. Bagel Boy got our almost $15 and we received NO FOOD. I will no longer order from Bagel Boy or UberEats. Such a terrible way to treat customers.

Just everything about bagel boy makes it the number 1 bagel shop in NYC for me. The people(so kind AND friendly), the service(fast, effecient, and friendly), and most definitely their fresh bagels(some days you can tell it's a little underproofed but that's also part of the joy you know it's handmade) and pastries(so fluffy and tasty). I grew up in Queens, worked in LES(past tense), and now live in Brooklyn. I would say I've had my fair share of bagels growing up and tried many different shops. But this one is my favorite hands down.

I love it! There ham, American white cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo sandwhich in a toasted roll was delicious! Definitely coming back here again. The wait was not that long either I did come around 4pm. My husband got a B.E.C in their egg bagel 🥯 he rates it a 10/10 because it’s fresh and tasty.

Superlative bagel purveyors worth a trip from points throughout Brooklyn. Plump, airy, pillowy bagels with a hint of sweetness and ideal combination of crusty exterior with chewy yet firm insides. Homemade on premises always fresh given the popularity driven turnover that are nearly always warm and never in need of toasting. Store made schmears that are put on to near excess. Excellent salads, cold cuts, made to order sandwiches and very flavorful coffee. Also does catering.

Literally amazing. We ate there 4 out of the 7 days we were in New York. And we each all got something different and it was always fresh and delicious. Strangers even asked me where I got my food while I was on the subway. The photos don't do it justice to how good this food is. It's for on the go. There is no place to sit except a bench outside, directly in the sun, so plan to take it somewhere.

When walking in the door there is a nice flow around the drink and shopping coolers, then along the salad, prepping counter, deli counter to the register & out you go. It's a busy place, but plenty of staff to keep it flowing nicely. Plenty of snacks & yummy goodies stacked all along the square middle area too. They speak English & Spanish here. The bagels are NY style normal size & comparitive to other bagel shops. They have a freshly prepared variety of salads from, pasta, to tuna, potato & loads more to choose from. There's prepared chicken cutlets & other higher end type lunch options which I really like because most bagel shops aren't a full size deli like this one with really great meats to choose from. It's great when the whole family can come here & some want a breakfast sandwich, bagel w cream cheese, hoagie/ sub or Italian for lunch and someone else wants chicken for dinner too. There's something for everyone's taste. They have to go options just in case you want deli by the pound to prepare at home as well. Parking was a breeze as the pay parking stand is directly across the street & I found parking easily in seconds. $2 an hour minimum parking, pay by credit or app. I enjoyed my Toasted Onion Bagel w cream cheese & Lox prepared by the owner himself. This place is one of the best bagel spots out there. Although always busy, the staff are friendly and they take their time with each individual efficiently. Their bagels have a nice thickness to them and they’re not dry or too tough—they’re super fresh! There’s a variety of flavors to choose from so just try them all~ The blueberry bagel is so pretty and delicious, and the jalapeño one is not as spicy as you’d think. Def like the option to order ahead and pay online to pick it up.

One of the best bagels in Brooklyn! Stopped by Bagel Boy for breakfast, and it totally lived up to the hype. The bagels are fresh, soft inside with the perfect crunch on the outside — just the way real New York bagels should be. The staff is friendly and fast, even when the line is long, and the place has that classic Brooklyn energy — busy but cozy. I'm not sure what the best bagel in Bay ridge is. Honestly, it's an argument I'm willing to have. I think bagel boy is up there. They make a mean sandwich. In life, all I want to do is to tell my sandwich order in someone's face and have it come back complete, accurate, and at a decent price. That happens at bagel boy! They are always speedy and very nice when I go.

I always buy their blueberry bagel light toasted with olive cream cheese and turkey bacon (its not weird). They have variety and made fresh. If you are in Bay Ridge and want a Bagel sandwich these guys wont disappoint.

This may not be a top bagel but it is definitely a great choice for the area. Bagels are soft & doughy! My usual order is the eggs & turkey bacon on an everything bagel! On the sweet side, the cinnamon bagel is the best!

Despite the evening time, the bagels were quite fresh, an hour and a half maximum. I tried 4 types (everything that was on the shelves at that time). Delicious, we can say that not a single bagel is inferior to others in taste. The only thing that upset me was the absolutely unbaked inner dough of almost all bagels. and besides, it is difficult for the stomach and intestines to digest such food. True, I solved the problem by simply cutting off the excess dough and then putting it in the toaster. The bagels are tasty, but it would be better if they were baked better.

Great staff, good food, just the coffee always taste burnt I got an iced and then a hot both tasted burnt. However do recommend for food!

Their bagel sandwiches are incredible! I go out of my way just to get the ABC breakfast special. The staff are super friendly too, and the service is pretty quick. EDIT: the first two times I came here were great, but every time afterwards not as much. They used to wrap the bagels super nicely with two layers but now it's just aluminum and it gets very greasy and messy. They've also messed up my order even when the place wasn't busy, a bit bummed that service hasn't been as good as the first times.

As the busiest bagel store boasting Bay Ridge’s biggest bagels, they are basically continually baking. No fear of a staleness, but bulky bagels bring big crowds and soon after sunup on Saturday and Sunday, despite having a full staff hard at work, sometimes there is a lengthy waiting line. Their homemade style cakes are never labeled but always appear as if wrapped in plastic by an unsupervised five year old. Priced at $2.25 each they are tasty, but sometimes sold somewhat stale as the scotch tape used to seal the bag is inherently ineffective.

1 out of every 4 times I order it's wrong or missing something. It's so consistent I wonder if it's on purpose. I'm going to stick with the premade stuff if I go back.

Service was great, fast moving lines, but unfortunately they're a little pricey for my taste. It costed me $8.95 for a cream cheese onion bagel and a medium coffee. That didn't make me happy.

EDIT: The bagel quality has become so much worse. They're oddly shaped and somehow larger, but that's because they taste more like a roll instead of a New York bagel. Garbage quality and taste. James and Larsen, please fix this! I have been a customer of this establishment for fifteen years, and unfortunately, I must admit that their service is inconsistent. Every time I visit, I worry that they will get my order wrong. To mitigate this issue, I have started customizing my orders to the individual staff members who prepare them. And yet, they still end up getting my order wrong on a regular basis. Unbelievable. However, there are a few employees who consistently get my order right, namely Maria and Larsen. They make excellent bagels and prepare my coffee correctly every time. (Edit: Their bagel quality is down the drain and don't taste like bagels anymore!) H&L Bagels located a few blocks away have better quality bagels and, most importantly, the service is consistent and the staff always friendly. I feel much more at ease at H&L and have never been dissatisfied with their service. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Bagel Boy.

I’ve been a couple of times, and the bagels are pretty good. This time though my order was wrong and I was given a cinnamon raisin bagel, but I strongly dislike raisins 😢

If it’s 6am and there’s around 3 left, that means it was made yesterday. They are not fresh. 3 times I trusted the workers word and asked if these were made today and every time the answer is “yes”. So I eat it and end up throwing it out after 1 bite. They’re clearly leftovers. I don’t think they were lying. They were just misinformed or they probably have to lie. I don’t know, but I hate that I’m paying 3+ dollars for something that tastes like it’s 2 days old. I know the difference between the fresh ones and stale ones. When there’s like 10 to 12 of them, then it’s safe to assume they were just made this morning. Edit: I’m 100% aware that they bake things in the back hours before store opening, but it doesn’t change the fact that those Nutella croissant pretzels are CLEARLY leftovers from the day before. I know the difference between fresh and not fresh ones. One time I asked if they can re-heat mine and it STILL tasted really, really stale. Like a 1-2 day old one. Get this sorted out if you want me to keep buying them, thanks.

Got a toasted bagel with flavored cream cheese (Almost $5 if you get the flavored cream cheese). They hardly added the cream cheese. Very dry. Not worth the cost.

tldr; Good bagels, incompetent back-end staff, poor customer service, and not safe-guarding customer information. ETA: I ordered 18 multi-grain and 6 sesame and received 6 sesame, 13 whole wheat, 8 cinnamon raisin, and ZERO multi-grain. The staff couldn't even deliver the correct number or type of bagels ordered. ____________________________________________________________ Let me preface this by saying the only reason I buy at Bagel Boy is because they have a multigrain bagel that my mother loves and for years I've purchased them via their own online ordering platform two dozen at a time to bring to her on Long Island. I will no longer do so after the last two bad experiences. In June, I pre-ordered nearly $60 in bagels for delivery at 9:25am the next morning (Sunday). When the order didn't arrive by 9:55am, I called the store inquiring about it only to be told they were out of the bagels I pre-ordered. 1. How does a bagel shop run out of pre-ordered bagels? and, 2. How do they *not call the customer* to inform them of this? Order canceled. This morning I decided to call in the order to ensure they had the multigrain bagels and learned that you are no longer able to call in a delivery order - fair enough, in theory online ordering is more efficient as it frees up staff to do other things. I placed a $62 order for 2 dozen bagels and 3 egg sandwiches, yet 2 dozen bagels and 2 egg sandwiches arrived. Fine - I call the shop to inform them that a ($9) sandwich was missing and was told by the girl who answered the phone that she didn't know what the options were and I had to speak with a manager. The girl was apologetic, and nothing against her...but how does the staff not have the authority to correct a delivery error? When the time waiting hit *15 minutes* I called from another mobile phone and guess who picked up? The manager, who replied that he was too busy to pick up the line I was *still* waiting on. Excuse me? Maybe you wouldn't be "too busy" to deal with a partially missing order if the staff didn't screw up orders to begin with. So, the manager sends over the missing item - which the girl who answered should've been able to do in the first place. Of course, it's not exactly what was ordered. Turns out, one of the originally delivered sandwiches was also incorrect. And, get this, the "scrap" paper they wrote the missing sandwich on had another customer's name, address, and phone number on it! So, not only can the staff not fulfill orders correctly, but the manager apparently does not safe-guard sensitive customer information. Mistakes happen, but two experiences in a row is trending towards a pattern and not a coincidence.

Good bagels although not the best in the neighborhood. The coffee is hit or miss, mostly miss. I find it either has a bitter taste or is never prepared properly. The employees never make a regular coffee the same way and that is quite frustrating.

Ordered: BEC on a roll, and a toasted everything with butter. BEC: The cheese was unmelted, the bacon was flavorless, and the eggs tasted old. The sandwich wasn't even warm. Bagel: The bagel was really good, but they barely toasted it (was more white and mushy than brown and crispy) it tasted cold, and there was more butter on the paper than the bagel. This place used to be good. Oh well.

Used to be my go-to bagel place, but recently I purchased bagels for my husband and myself and was extremely disappointed. They were doughy , tasteless and bland- and they are not cheap! Either something happened to the recipe or they had a bad day.

The lady who took the order, I don’t know her name she was really rude and nasty it was the worst customer service ever. We came from NJ visiting and I have to say we didn’t expect such an unprofessional service there was a point she was asking if we paid for the food multiple times and the other worker said yes they did like if we came all the way to steal the food lol. Based on my experience this is not a place I would recommend to my friends and family.

The food is decent (need to stop adding so much cream cheese to the bagels). However, the staff is very rude and they need an attitude adjustment and need to learn how to properly speak with customers with respect. Some of the staff members are nice, and the food can be great, but just about everything else about this place is absolutely atrocious. Unclear ordering rules and line system, takeout and delivery have never gotten an order right and I always got hassled for asking for a correction. The worst offense, though, was the last time I went here. I ordered what should have been a simple request — everything bagel with sun-dried tomato *cream cheese*. The monstrosity I got instead, though, was an everything bagel packed with plain sun-dried tomatoes and NO cream cheese. Why?? In what world did it seem like a bagel packed only with sun-dried tomatoes, an extremely acidic food, and no cream cheese, was something edible and ready to serve? I genuinely felt so mistreated, to receive this bagel, when I said "sun-dried tomato cream cheese", in response to "What kind of cream cheese do you want?" So rude. It made the bagel itself impossible to enjoy, even after taking all the tomatoes off, and I really needed this food before a long day. One of the worst things I’ve ever tasted in my life. Be very careful about going here, highly recommend literally anywhere else for breakfast.

Poor management !!!!I love a Hot bagel fresh out of the oven!!! Whenever I go in to the 3rd Ave Bagel Boys in Bayridge no matter what time I go and ask for a hot bagel out of the oven they give me a hard time and make me feel uncomfortable about my request. Today in particular, which drove me to create this review, I called in advance -they put me on hold for about five minutes and came back and said” Hot bagels will be out in the next five minutes. I made it there an eight because I live very close . When I got there I dealt with a manager their named Larson “he has given me a hard time about this request before” As I asked for a Hot Bagel he chuckled with coworkers while throwing a bagel in a microwave to heat up -when I seen this, I asked if he could ask the cooks in the back when the next batch of Hot bagels will be out because I was more than happy to wait, Larson said they’re not making anymore and I would have to come in at 5 o’clock in the morning if I wanted them out of the oven- it was 12 o’clock in the afternoon when he told me this on a Saturday. Bagel Boy has my favorite bagel recipes in Brooklyn which kind of means the entire world-right? Guess I’ll have to settle for Dyker bagel Chicken Ridiculous on my only day of the week I go off my diet and probably won’t be back there in a very long time due to my experience.

This place has really gone down hill. Used to really love this place. They never have blueberry bagels. They always run out of other bagels. And they never have the same items available on Seamless as in person. They don't even offer HOT cappuccino on Seamless, just iced; and when you do order it and ask for HOT, they don't accommodate you and they bring you iced. So stupid. Their staff is not as friendly as before also. They could care less, that's the expressions on their face. What a waste.

Been a customer for over 10 years not for any other reason than convenience. No other spots in bay ridge offer the fresh bagels this place does. However when it comes to service I believe the employees are completely terrible and don’t fully grasp the difference between dealing with people outside vs people at work. I believe these people are extremely prejudice. This may go over many heads but if there are other people with the same experience, this is for them. I personally believe when it comes to people they don’t deem deserving of RESPECT based on their own prejudices they will deliberately give you a harder time. For example for the entirety of me funding them in exchange for terrible service I have had an abnormal amount of “wrong orders” either sent out to me for delivery or even in person orders, and it got to a point where I had to make the decision to not give them my money any longer because it seemed a bit too intentional. Now recently In the past six months I have had a friend order in person and they get the same treatment; wrong orders, having to go back and watch them remake it. I personally think it’s disgusting how in 2022 we still have people who are allowed to own/work at establishments that are not inclusive and further than that it’s even more disgusting and unprofessional to think that your personal prejudices come before your paying customers. All I noticed when going to this establishment was gossiping and bad service. They do not take pride in providing a pleasant experience or even pleasant meal. I will no longer be giving these people money for bad behavior. Hopefully the owner acknowledges this review and simply does better.

Bagel Boy is a staple, unfortunately the cashier is not. Going in today after being attended well I was rudely attended by one of the cashiers. Asked for 3 coffees all were burnt coffees. All 3 were not what I asked for. When it came to the bagel 2 done correctly the other a whole different bagel. Bread soggy, cheese incorrect as well as the toppings. I asked for Mayo and maybe he thought I was asking for a free bagel it had a sprinkle of Mayo. It’s unfortunate how it’s become for the prices they have they need improving to match.

I've been going here for years but I guess they are on their way out... 1 slice of lox, 1/2 a bagel with cream cheese. Insane they forgot about the other half of the bagel. Pathetic spread of cream cheese, I expect this outside of NYC.

This store is a mess. I went in for a banana 🍌 and a drink. I stand in line, get to the register and two people are chatting, very nice. This is when I start to get upset, the two people take 3 others before even looking at me or my order. I have NEVER seen anything like it. Do not go to this place, it’s stupid and insulting. Plus, the food stunk and looked old. Just walk past this place, trust me.

Horrible pickup experience. I could be have walked to the store, ordered at the counter and received my order quicker than using Grubhub. They seemed confused when I said I was picking up an order placed on Grubhub. Made me wait a half hour. I had to essentially bully my way in the back to get someone’s attention. Not my thing is definitely an understatement. And my bagels weren’t toasted! It’s like they’ve never made a bagel sandwich before. Do not recommend.

Very rude customer service. No organization when ordering. They’ll only take your order if they know you otherwise they’ll ignore you. And the food is mediocre at best. Don’t go here unless you’re part of the bagel boy cult. Oh and just an fyi, you have to order in the back of the store. No one will tell you that though they’ll just let everyone cut in front of you and take their orders.

Pepperjack is missing, sandwich isn't cut, wrong bagel.... the staff that helped me even repeated the full order to me to make sure. It was not busy at all and my one bagel still came out wrong. I had to wait far too long for this too. They're getting more forgetful every time and so I think I'm done with this spot.

I called to place an order over the phone because I didn’t have much time but they said they don’t take orders over the phone(I never heard of that but ok) so I walk in, there’s a lady waiting and I stand behind her. They see us standing but don’t acknowledge us at ALL, I wait a bit but they’re just walking around completely ignoring that we’re there, I left. I can’t understand how you can treat your customers like that and it’s not the first time they ignore their costumers like that.I really don’t think I’ll go back there, they’re not too friendly

Ordered a toasted raisin bagel with cream cheese (overpriced $3.95+ tax but decided to get it anyways) and as shown in the photos there were 2 raisins and the color of the bagel is more on the white side than brown. My last time buying anything from there. Also, don't know if anyone have the same feeling as myself, but the people working there, gives off rude unwelcoming, don't come here vibes. The customer service needs to improve.
