The atmosphere at Battle Hill Tavern was amazing – SO cute and cozy!! The owner was the one who took care of us and made sure every detail was perfect. They really care about serving the neighborhood and the food was to die for! We’ll definitely be back.
What a pleasant surprise! I had the wonderful opportunity to be recommended to try this place and what a lovely day that was. I was told the Mac and cheese was amazing and it did not disappoint! I really enjoyed everything that we ordered which was the mac and cheese a few pizzas the garlic knots and the mushroom ravioli which was absolutely my favorite. Everything was seasoned really well and cooked to perfection. The chef deserves nothing but the best and all of their wishes granted because DAMN! I did not expect to have such a lovely meal in a bar. I can't recommend this place enough.
LOVE the pizza, beer and atmosphere! Definitely a hidden gem. The owner and staff were amazing!! I had the Tartufo Nero - yum! The garlic knots smell delicious too. A must try ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
First time and definitely won’t be my last. I loved everything about the place, the ambiance is so chill, food is fresh and delicious (chef’s kiss), and drinks were good. We had the fig pizza and sausage pizza. I only tried the fig and it was sweet and salty, perfect balance. We even got dessert on the house from the chef which was so sweet of him and it was amazing. I thought I was full but the baked chocolate chip with ice cream was yummy. Definitely was a great end to the evening. The bartender’s music playlist is also add a great vibe and she’s awesome as well. The staff as a whole was great. Can’t wait to be back.
Everything we have gotten from this location has been extremely delicious. This lovely restaurant has actually become 'our spot' when we need some delicious comfort food and drinks. The staff is also quite wonderful.
Excellent pie. The staff was great and super helpful. It was great to enjoy pizza and a beer outside and head back inside after to watch some football. Great spot! Pizza Adventures: Destination #137
Delicious food with reasonable prices. Server was friendly and excellent at communicating with us. it’s a very neighborhood friendly place and I highly recommend it!
We stopped in for a beer and will be back to try the food. The pizza coming out looked good! Very family friendly spot, there were kids running all over.
Really good pizza!!! And nice ambiance
Stopped here by chance and came back two more times before the end of our trip. I can’t rave enough about the place, the staff, jay and cinthya, made us feel so welcome, all the food we got was tremendous, even with our long stay and all the things we got to experience this will be the place and the people we appreciate and miss the most.
Great little bar just down from our apartment on holiday, good selection of local breweries on tap, very friendly staff.

Battle Hill is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. While their pizzas are great, it's the rest of their menu that is special for me, especially their pastas and the mushroom ravioli which we order every time. Great cocktails, super friendly servers and a more unique atmosphere than some of the other restaurants in the area, Battle Hill is really a special little place.
Possibly the least pretentious restaurant in Brooklyn. So warm and welcoming, and the food is wonderful. This place never disappoints.
We are regulars - always a nice relaxes time and good pizza /drinks.
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Chill vibes, friendly and attentive service, great food at a great value (especially for the area). The garlic knots should be entered in a national competition IMO. Also love the pecorino cauliflower, the gigantic salads, and all the pizzas. Oh and the cast iron cookie for dessert. 😋 FYI they often have sports playing with sound on (especially football on Sundays) if that bothers you.
A great neighborhood spot for people with dogs as there is outdoor seating. Service is crazy quick. Pizzas are really good. Salads are big and fresh. Plus $4 high life, can't beat it. Can be pretty crowded with families w/ small children if that's not your thing.
This place is a hidden gem of South Slope! The pizza is out of this world, the salads are surprisingly really well thought out and fresh, the salmon is so crispy and juicy, the service is top notch, the drink selection is excellent, and the charming location right on 6th Ave is so quaint and neighborly. We used to live around the corner and come here all the time, you HAVE to check it out.
Unbelievably lovely staff, great seating options, fantastic food– you really can’t go wrong between the brick oven pizzas, garlic knots and dips, the huge, delicious salads, and the mouthwatering desserts. I started going here reliably about a 16 months ago after spotting it during my dog walks. It quickly became a favorite go-to. I’m convinced that this is one of NYC’s best taverns, and it’s a bit of a hidden gem, set back on a quiet tree-lined block in Greenwood Heights. I’m moving away soon, and I’m so sad to be leaving Battle Hill behind!
I wish I lived in this neighborhood so this could be my tavern! Excellent food and solid service in a classic tavern space on the corner. Don’t miss the brick oven pizza, rotating main dishes, and well crafted salads. If you’re a regular you can get your own beer stein hung from the ceiling. This seems like a happy place to work and the service reflects that. Highly recommended!

The pizza was decent and the pasta was eaten by both kids. The broccoli rabe wasn’t great

Very bad pizza. Too small, dry, hard bottom and crust NOT fresh, not hot, and TOO expensive for the size and quality.
