I hardly give a restaurant 5 stars, so if bk beso got it they MUST deserve it! From Ashley behind the scenes to the DJ that kept my entire Party rocking, everything was Great! My son got christened and we made a reservation for a party of 11 with Ashley. She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and very easy to work with. We made our deposit and looked forward to our day! Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. We were on time and they were ready for us. No nonsense! We sat, and our waitress Celia came over to greet us, and the party got started with the drinks. These drinks... 10 out of 10! Mimosas and the rum punch were flavorful and had the group smiling from ear to ear. The DJ gave plenty shout outs 🙌 to my 4-month-old and the group which made it even more special. Now on to the food! Our menu was prefixed, oxtail mac and cheese, guava BBQ wings, Bacalao empanadas, chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, and waffles and chicken. When I say the food was plentiful and tasty, I mean that. My parents kept saying, "Are they bringing more food?" After the appetizers of wings and oxtail mac, they were already full! The floor managers were also very nice and so was the Bartender. If I had to say anything that they could improve upon it would only be that our oxtail could have been a little meatier, but with all the food no one cared to complain. This was my husband and I second time here, but first with the family! I guarantee it will not be our last! If you're looking forward to good everything: environment, food, Staff, Music and drinks this is the place to go.
Found this plc on Instagram at 3 am. Yesterday, I decided to come check it out w my daughter. The ambiance was chill vibes. The atmosphere was a breath of fresh air. The drinks were 10/10. I tried the oxtail w grits. Scrumptious 10/10. The whole meal was delicious, the grits were everything. I LOVE me some grits. I would definitely dine here again. I went for brunch, and next will be dinner Come check it out and enjoy.
Several weeks ago, I experienced eating phenomenal “seafood croquettes” at one of my favorite restaurants, BESO. I later found out they were a special that day and not on the regular menu. Please, Please, please make them available on your regular menu!!!!
Great food and beautiful ambience. I came during the week and it wasn’t that busy. I got the steak and eggs and the marinated sauce they had on the steak was to die for! The drinks were good, especially if you come during happy hour and get the 2 for 1 deal. I would definitely recommend adding this place to your visit to BK!
9 out of 10. My bf surprised me with Brunch here and it was perfect. Service was great. Food was delicious. Cooked well and tasted better. The music had me and my bf dancing on the floor like we were the only ones there. Let's not forget about the photoshoot. The sun was beautiful to capture in our photos. Will come back! I gave it a 9 because they had no oxtail so I couldn't try the oxtail Mac n cheese and I couldn't get the birthday cake Pina Colada but i liked the sugar rush. Always ask what's available on the menu.
Steak and eggs and the french toast were great! The creole sauce they put on the salmon and grits was amazing as well. Service and atmosphere was up to par especially for a restaurant in the heart of bed stuy, you dont see that very much!! Would definitely recommend and will be coming back.
Great spot for celebrations or just a few drinks! We sat outside, which was a little warm/stuffy, but after moving it was 5 stars. The food-delicious. The drinks-could’ve been stronger 😅. Vibes-all there. Our experience was v good, all thanks to Lia! She was v sweet, knowledgeable with the menu, and looked out for us for the birthday girl. 100% recommend.
Everything was great. Beautiful spot and ambiance. The server was very nice and attentive. The drinks were amazing and the food even more so. The swing in the back is a nice touch for cute photos. Had the lobster and grits and the lobster was perfectly cooked. Will definitely be returning.
This was an unplanned outing, luckily they weren’t too busy (it was a Monday night) and we were all starving when we got there along with my baby and my nephew but they were very accommodating everything was taken care of in a timely manner waiter was really nice, staff over all was really nice, the setting was real cute. I ordered the crowd favorite oxtail pasta with a side of fries for the babies, my sister got the shrimp pasta and the other person with us ordered smoked oxtail with black rice, everything was DELICIOUS! 10/10 for the food! And the drinks were nice too but the food was my favorite thing about being there
Upon entrance, we were greeted with Kompa music. The matradee said we couldn't be seated wo reservation till after 1030 cause they had a crowd, it was 945ish. We sat outside looking for another restaurant, and 15 minutes later, he came w a big smile asking if we were ready to dine-in. Welcoming staff where you'll be more than satisfied to spend, drink, eat & tip with a smile. I could've definitely ordered two rounds of the Tapas Tuesday Menu. Freaking delicious and just the right amount of food per dish. My 4 choices; Red velvet Waffle & Chicken, Jerk Oxtail Mac & Cheese, Mango Wings & Tres Leche cake, which I didn't share w my table guest... Get Your own.
Brooklyn Beso made my birthday celebration truly memorable! Surrounded by family and friends, the ambiance set the perfect tone for a joyful evening. The dishes were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The first plate with crispy fried bread and a savory dipping sauce was a delightful starter, offering a satisfying crunch complemented by the zest of the sauce. The braised oxtails served over mac and cheese were rich and comforting—a perfect blend of tender meat and cheesy goodness. The stuffed plantain topped with fresh salsa and creamy sauce was a standout—both sweet and savory with a refreshing burst of flavor from the toppings. The service was attentive, and the lively atmosphere added to the fun. Everything came together for an unforgettable night. I would definitely recommend Brooklyn Beso for special occasions or a casual evening out. Looking forward to visiting again!
I held a private dinner at Brooklyn Beso to celebrate opening up my own salon suite. The private room is beautiful and it was really nice to have a private space to celebrate my special moment. We had unlimited mimosas and rum punch for one hour and a dinner tasting menu that included 3 appetizers and 3 entrees served family style for the group to share. I really liked the food and the rum punch. I didn’t love the mimosas too great but the rum punch made up for it. If you’re looking for a nice private room and fun atmosphere, I recommend going!
This is my new fave spot. The food is delicious, made with love and well seasoned, like good home-cooked food. The staff is attentive and the atmosphere gives “it girl who deserves it all”. The decor is beautiful, even from the bar, which is where we sat because it was a busy Tapas Tuesday night. If you’re coming for Tapas Tuesday, try to get there early — before 530, so you can be seated and place your order for the specials for tapas. Note: each person must get 4 things - it’s not 4 per table or group. The shrimp pasta was yummy. You can skip the chips, and go straight for the oxtail mac and cheese and the crab mac, which is not pieces of crab but WHOLE crab legs — worth the experience. I also had the bread budding which was a dream after a few drinks. The drinks are well mixed and worth every dollar. Hands down a good spot to catch up with friends — good food, good music, good vibes. We’ll definitely come back on a normal day to soak it in some more.
Went on a Tuesday so the menu was like sample sizes of their regular dishes... So I had wings (delicious) pork chop and mash (it was ok) sweet plantains (eh) but the 2 for 1 mojitos was what it was about. They were Strong like two had me questioning if I should have ubered. Had to chill out for a bit. It was a good time, great place for a date. Not too pricey, decent selection.
Excellent food and service! It's a bit loud... but a vibe if you're down for it! Pleaseeee keep the pork chops on the menu! Juicy & flavorful!! Amazing!! ....along with the oxtail pasta!! The mango sangria is EVERYTHING!!!
Last night we celebrated my husband's birthday, we were originally a party of 17 but I had cancellations and it dropped to 13. Beso staff was were very attentive to us even with the constant changes & cancelations we had. I coordinated with Ashley via text/ email in order to get my reservation in order for such a big party. She was very sweet, communicative. The food & drinks are Sensational !!!!.. I loved!! the music it was r&b, hip-hop, reaggee, afro beats, latin exc... (Very eclitic) The waitress was very sweet and checked in on us a lot. We had a (3) full family style entree & (3) full family appetizers of Salmon with rice, Oxtail with pasta and Chicken with black beans and rice. The appetizers was Max & Cheese, Nachos and cheese & wings Everything was sooo good!!!!! I only had the a portion of there menu from there package but when I return I will try other dishes. Don't sleep on this restaurant, it's a hidden Gem!
Came here from work craving pasta and Chef AL recommended the new sea food pasta with shrimp, lobster, and salmon. Listen to me, it’s absolutely delicious and the seafood is cooked beautifully. And the seafood is so fresh!!! 😩🙌🏾✨👏🏾❤️😋I always get great service when here and my favorite waitress is Tolia!
When we arrived , they were doing a transition from brunch to dinner. They allowed me & our party to sit & wait while we order drinks. We enjoyed the drinks that were buy 1 get one free. I had the oxtail pasta. The best oxtail pasta I’ve had in a while. My friends and I look forward to returning again.
The food was absolutely fantastic I went here today for my moms birthday and nothing disappointed the only feedback I can give is that the deviled eggs filling was a bit dry and under seasoned and the drinks could be a bit sweeter other than that it was beautiful the food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing!!! 10/10
The food was fantastic I got the chicken and French toast it was definitely more then enough. The chicken was amazingly cooked along withthe thick cut French toast and my boyfriend got the ox tail mac and cheese and he said it was amazing I tried the ox tail and it in fact was amazing cant wait to go back !
My first time in Brooklyn and got recommended this spot, and it did not disappoint. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, good music selection that makes you wanna move. Can’t go wrong with the oxtail Mac n cheese ands their strawberry lemonade was on point! I definitely plan on stopping by again during my next visit
The oxtail macaroni and cheese was flavorful and wonderful TASTING. I really enjoyed it nicely seasoned succulent meat. The oxtail pasta was also a delightful dish as well. Very nicely al dente pasta with succulent oxtails also. Very nice eating area towards the back. The front of the bar is great also. I also tried their wings some time ago they are also very good. Happy eating everyone. I will definitely be back again and again and again
Ok, this was our first time here, and I must tell you the drinks were good. The food starts with the wings and fries, then next to the red velvet chicken and waffles omg. My friend had the Mac and cheese with oxtails..got damn it was good. This place is definitely worth visiting. We shall be back, that's for sure. Yes, the atmosphere is relaxing and worthy.
I had such a wonderful moment,✨A big shoutout to the Dj who played some good Haitian music for us😍 The restaurant offers highly flavorful food with a diverse menu, providing plenty of choices. Alcoholic drinks are light and not overpowering. The lobster tail was a standout, described as amazing. Very special thanks to Neka Andre; we received the best service 🥰
Visited here for Tapas Tuesday and it was VERY busy. We were able to get a table and the food was excellent but the accompanying drinks weren’t so strong. Our waiter was super accommodating and made adjustments for us to make up for it. The music was great too so all around a good vibe. Would recommend going early in the day to take advantage of Tapas Tuesday or booking in advance to avoid the wait as the place is small. I’d come back another time to explore other menu options. Everything looked great!
I had the tres leche french toast with chicken. It was really good. I also got the tropical vybz mocktail which just tasted like guava juice. The dj takes songs suggestions and he was funny. It was vibe definitely would go again but I would say that the place was a little to cramped and the floors were dirty.
I went on a Saturday night and it was full of ppl with a 45 minute wait for a table. My bestie and I ended up enjoying the sights, food and drinks from the bar. I had the red snapper filet tacos delicious and the crab mac&cheese awesome stuffed with crab. I had the girls night out signature drink served in a flamingo floaty , goes down like juice!!! And the rum Punch you will wanna take some home🥰The vibe was great . 4 out of 5 because the staff all seemed to be new kinda slow taking orders but overall good experience.
I had the oxtails and Mac and cheese. Food was great. I gave it a 4 star because they had a dirty fork on the table. We ate with plastic forks. The drinks was a 10 out of 10. Liquor drinks were amazing.
Me & a few friends threw a graduation dinner for a friend here over the weekend. Pros: - Ambiance 4/5 - music 5/5 - food 5/5 - prefix menu option Cons: - no actual host - it was hot ! Overall ur was great, we ordered a drink & they ran out when we wanted another round& it was hot so I took away a star
Great Black-owned neighborhood gem. Support it!! Music was good- 90s early 2000s r n b. My bf and I went during the week so vibe was a bit lowkey. It was not crowded. Service was quick. We enjoyed their version of rasta pasta. The oxtail mac n cheese is so good... definitely indulgent. It's an appetizer but I saw someone else eating it as their meal. Margaritas for drinks and those also were on point.
The food was great. The oxtail pasta is great omg. But at night in the back it’s really dark. They should allow some kind of light for the elderly. Nice music as well. However, they dont read the details on reservations because I wrote that we were there to celebrate TWO birthdays and we still had to tell them at the end.
Came here yesterday for a birthday lunch. The place is beautiful, especially in the back. Drinks were OK, nothing special. we had the guva and passion fruit martini, and they both tasted the same. For appetizers, we had the oxtail mac n cheese, which was very delicious! I wish I ordered seconds instead of our main dish because that was a disappointment. I had the surf and turf with red velvet waffles. The shrimps were great! Everything else was horrible, in my opinion. So qll I ate was the shrimp for $35. It's definitely not worth it! For desert I got a slice of vanilla cake which was really moist and good! I would define a visit again. But I would definitely not order surf and turf waffle again.
The food was good. I went on a Tuesday they have $7 Tappas and BoGO drinks. The portions were small but hey it’s $7. Waiter was very kind and the establishment was cleans food came out on time.
This is a pretty good Caribbean spot. Food was good. The drink I had was OK but they got a little too fancy with the plastic toy as a drink decoration. My date had the Mac and cheese with ox tails which was pretty damn good. I had the grilled shrimp with plantains and rice, again pretty good. The atmosphere/decor was decent, BUT the music was too damn loud. I was practically yelling at my date so she could hear me. They turned it down a bit after about a half an hour but they could have turned it down a bit more. The service was pretty good, friendly and they checked on us several times. I would say check it out and decide for yourself if you want to go back. ✊🏿
Good spot to eat and drink when in Bedstuy. The rum punch is definitely a must try, it had a really nice punch to it. The hibiscus tea is also nice, definitely recommend that as well. The wings were awesome, they were a nice size and very flavorful. The steak and eggs were also good, very good proportion of steak. The oxtail and catfish grits were both tasty. The only thing for me is the service was a little slow and it took a minute for our meal to come out.
I heard about this place from Instagram. IT looks great and the food is really tasty. We had ox tail mac and cheese small portion and it was great. Then the French toast and chicken was good. The mango sangria was a hit as well. The problem with the establishment is the service. Slow. Long periods with no one checking on you. I could understand if the place was busy. 1230pm total of 5 customers and 10 min wait to take our order? It just seems the wait staff had more important things to.do on their phones than serve the customers. I saw them laughing and joking when I went to the bathroom. Service should be impeccable as the food.
Loved! The food here! The Oxtail Mac is heavenly! Sadly, we had to wait a WHILE to be seated (> an hour), and that was an interesting experience, but my friend really wanted to eat here, so... Anywho, our waiter was awesome, the food was great, and the restaurant is actually beautiful once you get to the dining area (you walk by the bar first). Would probably order for pick up or delivery next time.
I took my mom for brunch. We went at a good time, Wed around 3pm. That was a great time of day. The food was very good! My mom had the shrimp and grits. I had oxtail and mac and cheese. The only thing is the wings were a tad dry but other than that, they were good. You can order extra sauce for the wings. The oxtails and mac and cheese and the grits and seafood were superb! Seasoned and made well. We sat outside, and the music wasn’t too loud and the seating was good. I would definitely recommend this place. And if you drink, the Happy hour is for 11 am - 7 pm Mon thru Fri. My mom is in a wheelchair and they served us outside which they don’t normally do, so I thought that was really considerate. We had a great time! We will be back.
Beso's menu offered ambitious drinks and dishes with Caribbean flavor. Friends liked the Oxtail Mac and Cheese. Very limited choices if you are vegetarian or vegan though, but plantains were just the way I like them! Service was wonderful. Ended the night with photos on their swing. Call in for reservations if you're with a group. There's a cocktail hour before dinner which I believe starts at 8PM. My friends and I had a great time.
Enjoyed myself here! Solo friendly too, there were at least three other solo diners there (not including myself). The food was nice, the vibes great - I heard Afrobeats, Soca, RnB and Hip Hop music. I had a great time overall. Nicely priced. Only disappointment was that only Tapas Tuesday menu was available which was a bit limiting; affordable though. I would have liked to taste other things on the menu. Service also slowed as they got busier but it can be understood.
Popped in last minute and I must say I really enjoyed my meal. The drinks were also very nice. Don’t believe the bad reviews, drop in and give it a try for yourself. My only suggestion to the chef would be to go a little lighter on the seasoning in the oxtail. Thanks for your great service, Malcolm!
Went here for brunch after Pilates. The staff at Beso were lovely and very welcoming. I sat at the bar, so I didn't have to wait for a table. There was a bit of a wait for those who needed one, which made the area by the entrance/bar area a little crowded. I got there around 2:20 on a Saturday for reference. I had the grits with oxtail, which was great and a cocktail. Very lovely spot, good music. Loved the atmosphere. I will be back. Thank you, Beso.
I came all the way from Jersey despite the reviews and I wanted to support a black-owned place. Although their service needs quite a bit of help as I waited to even be spoken to for 15 minutes and there were plenty of tables open near the bar. The food was a huge recovery everything was really good and the oxtail was so tender!! Have the red velvet cake and rum punch as well and thank me later. DJ was also a vibe! They seem to be working on a limited menu.
Extremely long waits and none of the hostess approaches to ask if they can help, which can be confusing if it's your first time there. The venue is very, very, very noise because the music is so so so so loud. The food was good (not too spicy or salty). However, my food was cold, and the servings were extremely extremely extremely small (like miniature meals). It took me less than 10 minutes to eat the meal. The drinks were water down and very overpriced. Then there is a whole 20% tip!¡ Suggestions: Greet customers when they walk in, turn the music down, increase the serving size by 50% (give people what they've paid for), use less ice and soda in the drinks, and reduce gratuity from 20% to maybe 15% especially given the customer's overall experience. Although the food was good, I'm giving it 3/5 stars because it was such a small portion with literally 5 very tiny pieces of oxtail for $25.00. Similarly, 3/5 because of the 1-hour long wait to be seated, and because no one approached to ask if I needed help after waiting for more than 15 minutes---I had to stop someone to ask if they could assist me and lastly, the loud music playing in the background. I'm hoarse from shouting to people sitting directly across from me at my table. It was so difficult to order the food. You had to point to the menu.
Didn’t have a reservation but I was able to get one for 4 people when I came in for Sunday brunch. We ordered the Tres Leches French toast, guava wings, red velvet waffles, oxtail Mac and cheese and the rum punch. The waffles reminded me of a cake texture. The French toast and the oxtail Mac and cheese were my favorites. If you like a really strong rum punch, this place is for you. It was a bit strong for me. Loved the music that was playing! Caribbean music the whole time which I appreciated. It took a while to place our order but once we put the order in, the food came out in a shorter time than it took to order it.
Service was odd. Our server barely spoke and seemed like he didn’t want to be there, which, I get it. Working service jobs isn’t easy at this time but it made for an uncomfortable experience for me and my date. The appetizer and mains came out at the same time, lemonades took about 15 minutes to get to the table and the server stood hovering over me as I paid the bill on the mobile device lol The food was unimpressive. The calamari was over cooked and missing its sauce companion. The lobster roll was served hot (not a lobster salad on a bun as one would expect) and the lobster meat itself was also over cooked, rubbery and tasteless. Experience was overall a disappointment especially considering we were huge fans of Cafe on Ralph.
I usually have a great time here, but this visit was a miss. The back left booth seats were not stable. Most of what we wanted on the menu for brunch was not available. Our server was great and very professional. He tried to salvage our experience, which did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Brooklyn Beso’s venue is absolutely gorgeous. The artificial flower garden area in the back is also really nice for private parties. They had 2 for 1 drinks that were aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but they weren’t strong at all. I’m a foodie and their food didn’t necessarily quench my palette. The yams, did not yam enough for me I didn’t expect it cubed in sauce The chicken was a bit dry The Mac and cheese was ok I was sold on atmosphere… I’d probably give them another try to see if it was just a bad day
Great for pictures. Service while at the bar was good. When we wanted to eat the service was super slow. We started with the lobster Mac n cheese and what arrived after 20 min was Mac and ox tail not what we ordered so we had to wait another 30min for our correct order. At that point we were done. Henny colada’s was good. Fix your service. And remember it’s not the customers fault your waitress out in the wrong order and also tried to charge us for it. Too expensive for the experience.
Enjoyed brunch here with a big group. After some wait we got seated together. We ordered wings and nachos for appetizer. Wings were really good (sweet spicy sauce) nachos were ok. The burger was delicious, but the fries…. were not. Chicken n French toast: the toast was not fully saturated therefore dry in the middle. I was missing the moist cinnamon-y French toast I’m used to. Chicken was the same as in the nachos, good. Yummy grits! The pitchers were hitting and they were super present with refills and any help. Glassware needs to be properly cleaned and dried. Multiple people in my party and other people were asking for fresher glassware. Service was spectacular everyone is so kind, shout out Manuel and Dave! Thank you ☺️ Music could be a little lower, but overall good music, decor and vibes.
So this is not a bad place. FOOD was very good once we actually got it. Great vibe great ambiance, heated garden was cool as well. Had reservations for Sunday. Took a lil over an hour to get our starters while others who came after got their food first. Our waiter was very nice. I feel like we came at a busy time where they were doin takeout orders and we kinda fell thru the cracks. Main course was good as well again we were kinda forgotten alot. However the Twins did come and try to make things better by acknowledging our long wait time and trying to rectify which was truly appreciated. We did get a round of drinks on the house. Overall GOOD food great vibe but jus a mini mishap with our service. Definitely gonna try again.
This place is only for show for its decor . Food service was about a 3 took a while to be seated the person skipped us 2x and put other people in front until the bar tender told him he’s forgetting us which was a party of 2. When seated I seen nobody had ate yet but seems to been sitting there for some time. Once we ordered the food it took a long time I ordered the Mac & cheese with oxtail the oxtail wasn’t spicy at all tasted real American to me the bowl was full of oil smh also it was way too cheesy to be Mac & cheese. The oil was every where I wish they had given me an extra plate I had to ask it was one because it such a mess . Eating from a tiny bowl the meat was going to fall on the table what a waste . A group next to me requested something and the waiter said he didn’t have it but next time they will the girl said she’s most likely not coming back and he asked why she told him the service takes forever and the food isn’t that great I completely agree with her . The music I heard was one Caribbean song then straight to Jayson music I thought this was a Caribbean restaurant I guess not . Also another couple next to me came and was waiting for service and said the service isn’t that good here it’s just looks nice inside . I rest my case I will not be returning back here don’t be fooled by social media videos save your money . My waiter wasn’t friendly he didn’t smile at all he must’ve not wanted to be working that day idk but i didn’t feel welcomed . Drinks 8/10 food 6/10 interior design 10/10 service 5/10 wait time 5/10.
To start, the atmosphere of this restaurant was so cute and cozy. The Afro and carribean music added a great nostalgic feeling to the restaurant. I was seated promptly upon entering which was also a plus. Once the orders began to come out the service went downhill. The water was just placed on the table with dirty cups. I received all my food prior to the drinks I ordered. I received burnt waffles and when I made a complaint to the waiter he immediately dismissed me. Avoiding confrontation I just said ok. Thankfully the manager noticed this and told him to replace it. From there on, the waiter kept avoiding the table and when I would ask for something he would try to respond 6 feet from the table. When I asked for another drink he directed my boyfriend to pass him my empty cup. I proceeded to let him know he should’ve came around and took the cup. It’s not appropriate to ask a paying customer to do your job for you. Besides his awful service the food was truly so good and seasoned well. The new waffle that came out was fluffy and the crushed Oreos added a nice touch. The drinks were great as well and they had some creative options under “VIP Drinks”. Overall I’m not sure if I would come back again due to service.
Went here with a group of friends without reservations on a Saturday night, was a bit of wait but we eventually was seated which was great. The waitress took our orders and what I didn't realize was how long it would take for us to even get our appetizers. It was a long wait just to get appetizers. When it finally came, I didn't receive mine so I had to ask her once she came by again and told 10 min. I don't know why that long for just that. The main entree finally came long after that. We were all already hungry at that point so we ate. Found out some parts of my food was cold and I was not the only one as my friends also said some parts of their entrees was cold too. To send it back who knew how long it would take for them to warm it up. Really makes me wonder how long the food was sitting there. I should have read the reviews on here first because long wait times to get food seems to be common.
Honestly it’s hard to write this review. The taste was 9/10 for me but the service was horrible. Drinks took 30mins food took 30mins for apps and then another 40 for entree and we thought we would be smart and order dessert while we waited on the food and of course the dessert came out first and when I tried to explain that we hadn’t eaten the entrees yet he was confused like he didn’t understand. We got the Frozen chocolate martini but it wasn’t frozen at all. Also all over the internet they are garnish beautifully with chocolate and nuts but no. Just a liquid mess. While the food was good it wasn’t worth the wait. Also the bill was 180 and the tip is automatic which is why the service is bad. They don’t have to work for it.
My family celebrated my Sisters 60th Birthday last night. One bartender, but he made up for it, drinks were decent. Food looked decent as well but some food was not fresh, most had the runs this morning. Very outdated and dirty place. While waiting to use the ladies room. There were dirty dishes, a pail full of dirty fluids right next to the bathroom door. The bathroom dirty, even the soap pump was dirty, No paper towels to dry your hands. Flamingo old outdated wallpaper, dirty heaters plugged in and hanging over tables were you eat. The owner needs Chef Ramsey and Bar Rescue to come and do a serious makeover of this place. Need to get back to how it was when they 1st open years ago. 👎
Came here on a Saturday afternoon without reservations, but we were seated after 10 minutes. Once seated we were told that the kitchen was backed up and had to wait 30 mins to order food. Turns out we had to wait 30 mins for drinks and appetizers too. The crab guacamole and chips were slightly tangy like it was old. The chips were stale. The service here is terrible. We finally got our food after 50 mins. And to say the least, not worth the wait. I ordered the red velvet chicken and waffles. The waffles were crumbly, crunchy, and dry with no taste. The chicken was ok had a little flavor. The rum punch and the mango margarita was the best part of the meal. I will not be returning to this place anytime soon.
Sat in and ordered the salmon dish apart of the brunch menu. I should have taken a picture but instead I returned it to the server to remake because it looked terrible. The dish itself was a 2 outta 10. I didn’t finish it. I won’t be back. It just seems like ppl are working to get paid and the last thing on their minds are to provide good customer service. Sorry but do better. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
Came across this establishment searching for places to eat. The aesthetics were amazing looking and seems like a popular spot. I went for brunch, so got their and seated quickly. Looking over menu server kept coming and asking did we want drinks but were out of the magratias, so suggested mocktails (don't understand that lol). Ordered food and for it to be expensive as it is you'd think you'd get a bigger portion. Food was ok but overpriced to me as well as the drinks. Absolutely didn't like as we were eating workers were rudely grabbing cups and plates and not even asking were we finish or saying excuse me or anything. The music in the back was playing so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves talking. Everything was rushed but I guess per their policy customers have 1 hr and 20 mins to order and eat.
I give the oxtails amd mac and cheese a 1 I give the shrimp, rice and salad a 7 I give the red snapple and rice a 7 I dont like the henny wings, it was the saesoning I did mot care for.. The drinks were a 10. I give the chicken sandwich 2, again did notlike the seasoning. I would come back for the drinks only..
This place is very cute. The staff was nice and welcoming, our waiter was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The DJ was great and the music is not too loud. The drinks were delicious and well presented. But I am here for the FOOD and it was terrible. First the appetizers took about 40 minutes to come out because the kitchen was backed up. They ended up giving us some chips and pico de gallo because we were literally starving. That being said we were hungry and we had been drinking so any decent food they would have brought out to us we would have devoured. But the food was so bad we got the chicken wings the empanadas and the mac and cheese for apps. We could not finish one single dish and there was three of us because they were all barely edible. The grits have to be the worst thing on this menu they tasted like what I would imagine paper mache to taste like. I got the steak and eggs it was bad my eggs were burnt. The only entree that was decent was the chicken and french toast I would give that a 6 out of 10.
Short version: poor customer service, food is hit or miss, drinks are overpriced and very sugary, location is VERY LOUD, like cannot hear the person sitting across from me at the table kind of loud. What I loved: the jerk Mac and cheese!!! This was actually very good and if I really was craving it I would get this to go. The guava bbq wings also were definitely a hit. Wings were on the smaller side I will say but they had a crunch and were drenched in sauce. The sauce itself was a tad bit too sweet and overpowering so I’d so go easy on the sugar. Notable mention: oxtail pasta - could have been great but it was just okay. The meat was good but there was barely any of it, it was mostly bone. Pasta itself was tasty but this dish is VERY VERY OILY. $30 for mostly bone is not worth it and quite frankly it’s a scam. Tacos: got the catfish - it needs a sauce !!! Lemon is not enough for a dry piece of fried fish!!!!! Customer service: I walked in and waited 10 minutes in front of the “please wait to be seated” sign next to a noisey group drinking at the bar. One of them bumped into me and said “oh sorry are you waiting to be seated? Let me help” I’m baffled I had to get bumped into by one of the staff members in order to be spoken to because they were too busy getting lit at the bar. Another woman from the group approached me and said my full party (one other person) needed to be there in order to be seated, which is fine but when my friend arrived shortly after it took about 7 more minutes for us to be seated - again they were too busy getting lit. I will not be back 🤗
I really didn't like the food. The oxtail in the oxtail mac was extremely salty and when we sent it back the Mac in the next one was salty. The taco was alright, the grits made me feel like I had rocks in my mouth, the wings were really good. As for the drinks were entirely or strong had more liquor than juice. Don't get me wrong we like strong drink but this was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to strong felt like a waste of liquor. The waitress was very friendly. The table next to mine the other waitress kept messing up the orders and or didn't place them. The decor beautiful.
The one star rating isn't for the food or drinks.. it's for the cleanliness of the restaurant. We were on our way to Peaches but heard the music and being Jamaican we decided let's give this place a try. The wait staff were friendly. Didn't take long for our appetizers to arrive. My friend had the bbq guava wings and I had the nachos with chicken. The frozen mango Margarita was good. Our main courses, the grilled shrimp with black rice was good. I had the dorito crusted chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were excessively salty. As I'm eating I see something out my peripheral and my friend saw it too. I huge roach was crawling on the wall. I didn't say anything, just moved away from the wall since it could've come from anywhere or anyone. But a few minutes later my friend pointed out that there were roaches crawling on the table behind us where the wait staff kept the forks and napkins for guests. Then there was roaches crawling on a plastic bin on top of the bar. At that point, we were sick to our stomachs and paid the bill and left. They asked if we wanted Togo containers and we said no and left. They had to see it. I was so disgusted that I couldn't even tell them why we left so abruptly. I will never go here or even recommend this place. I feel so embarrassed that a west Indian place is so unkempt.
We ordered for pickup on Seamless. We got there at the estimated ready pick up time. Staff went and checked for our order, then said they never received an order. They went to talk to the manager (who we never saw), they came back and forth between us to check order, receipt etc. This was 15 minutes into the experience. Then they said the order total on the receipt didn’t match the items we ordered. So items are misprinted on Seamless. So we had to settle with getting two items instead of the original order. Then we waited another 25 minutes to even hear from anyone, we weren’t sure if they were going to serve us. There was no communication. The bartender did not offer us any water or assistance, didn’t even speak to us while we were waiting. Then the worker that was assisting us seemed hesitant to even give us our food and didn’t respond until my boyfriend looked at him, like he didn’t even respect me or my presence. Then, the food portions were minuscule amounts for the price and time we payed. The place is obviously poorly managed, and needs to fix their issues with Seamless. We didn’t receive anything complementary, in total we we waited about 45 minutes after the estimated pick up time. I hope they figure it out. The mac n cheese was good, (but such a little portion, for 12$, please fix that).
This used to be my go-to place in the summer, and everything on the menu was amazing until today. The French toast is totally different now. I ordered something else, but when I told them I didn't like it, they didn't seem to care or offer anything else. I ended up ordering fish and grits and got baked or grilled salmon and grits with cottage cheese, which was the nastiest thing I've ever had. I wasted money, and I wasn't pleased—it honestly tastes like they hired a new chef, and the food is bad. I will not be returning
The drinks were watered down and not worth the $16 at all!!! The calamari pieces were extra small and mostly consisted of over fried breading. The lobster roll was the langostino lobster and not what folk have in mind when they want a lobster or a lobster roll. This must be the lobster that goes in the Mac and cheese because a few bites of my lobster had mac and cheese bits. The flavor was lackluster. I ate the meat and not the bread. The bread was a hotdog bun, but the least they could've done is toast it. The shrimp po boy should be called a shrimp sandwich. It came on a hamburger roll and not a hoagie roll like a traditional po boy. The shrimp still had the tail on it. So you have to open your sandwich remove all the tails and then dive in. It wasnt even tasty. The best thing here was the fries, and most of them were a little over cooked. I will NEVER go back. The food was subpar and the drinks were as well. I had hope for the drinks because they were pretty but it was all an illusion. They have the audacity to add a 20% tip to all orders, I guess they get what they can because they know most folk will not be returning. The ambiance is nice, but I pay to dine and eat good food or at least good drinks. I was disappointed.
Service here is the absolute worst! I don’t know why I didn’t read the reviews before coming here but boy do I wish I did. As a book club host it’s hard to get restaurants to host large groups or find a restaurant that has seating for large groups but this restaurant accommodated a large group and the food options look good so I blindly decided to book a reservation there. When you walk in no host is waiting to greet you. They are all huddled up in one area talking to each other until they eventually feel like coming over to you. A few of my book club members had already arrived so I let them know that some of the party was there. The host then decided to give me a lecture about how it was restaurant policy that they cannot sit everybody till all guests have arrived. I know that this is standard at t some restaurants so I didn’t mind. Some of the guests were running late so I let her know that she can sit with us and that if the other people come in we would move to the bar. She then went into another tangent about how if the other guests come they cannot sit with us, they can’t add an extra chair and they won’t be seated near us. Whatever, we sat it wasn’t busy and there was more than enough space for the rest of our guests to sit if they showed up. The best thing here is the drinks. The good is mediocre at best. We ordered oxtail for someone late to book club and guess how longer it took to come out?TWO HOURS! I'm not a restaurant owner but I mean I think that before you opened your establishment that food would be prepped enough for it not to take 2 hours for one dish. Luckily that gave us more time to talk about our books but 0/10 would not come back or recommend them to anyone.
My food took long to come out.The wings were ok but were cold by the time my Mac&Cheese came at a separate time. I didn't like the mac&cheese, it was dry and had to much cheddar. We paid for the tower drinks and they didn't want to refill our tower even though we were within the 1hr time limit. Then u go to wall my hands and there's bleach in the hand soap. When I asked why the male host gave me attitude. When I told him what my review would be he told me he didn't care. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE.
Utensils and glassware were dirty! When asked to replace they brought a glass with a previous patrons lipstick and previous drinks. Our water was tap. Our food was served 20 minutes after our arrival but in a party of 5, each of us was served our dishes in 10 minute intervals of cold food. The wait staff was pleasant but were more accommodating to the Birthday Brunch than the other patrons. DJ was great but my family and I will not return.
My experience here on 11/2/2025. We went here as a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday yesterday. We parked around the corner on Macon about 1040am. The restaurant opens at 11am on Sunday. As the restaurant opened, we followed a separate group of 6. All were seated less than 10 minutes from opening of the establishment. Note: That's not a bad thing. I'm just painting the picture. As you enter the dining area in the back of the establishment, you see how they did a good job with the dining area. The swing they have there is a dope add for the picture takers. All 4 of us ordered individual meals with an appetizer of empanadas. Upon seeing lemonade on the menu, I became happy as I love fresh squeezed lemonade. Quite often though restaurants let me down with the use of only lemon juice or any other alternatives to actual lemons. I inquired was it fresh squeezed and the waitress said it was. 2 were ordered. 2 of the 4 meals that were ordered was scrambled eggs & beef sausages as well as french toast and bacon. I can't remember what the other 2 meals were as we never saw them. Stay tuned. The drinks pretty much came out immediately. Once I saw the color of the "lemonade" my radar was up but I still wanted to actually try it before I praise or criticize it. I'll post pic of drink. Upon sipping the lemonade, I was convinced I was finessed. It had to be water with a lemon in it as I smelled the lemon while drinking it but most certainly didn't taste it. There was also no pulp which is usually in fresh squeezed lemonade now that I think of it. About 1135am, the empanadas came out along with the sausages(no eggs) & bacon(no french toast). The sausage appeared to be pork links so I asked "what kind of sausages are these?". The waitress replied "pork". Then I mentioned that "I asked for beef" for the waitress to reply "it is beef". Now I'm aware that the link sausages also comes in beef, but usually when one says "beef sausages" links are not associated with that. My child said the bacon tasted funny. We, the parents, tried the bacon out. Mom think it was air fried. I believe it was the brand because I had air fried bacon from brands that I eat and it tasted exactly the same as fried or baked with less grease. At this point, it's about 1150am & no other food items came out. I quickly checked some prior reviews and saw that someone else had a similar interaction with pieces from their meal coming out in "10 min intervals". 13 mins or so with only a portion of a complete meals, I asked the group if they wanted to leave? They all said yes. Once I got the waitress' attention, I told her to keep the remaining food that didn't come out and we'll pay for what was brought out. The waitress never inquired why, took a few minutes which I thought was for her to talk to the mgr but eventually I got up and to find her so we can pay the bill. As we were leaving, she said to me "have to a good day" as I said "thank you. The same to you." Funny thing is my lady has been here 3 times counting yesterday and had 2 not good experiences prior to yesterday. I told her she's better than me because if my first experience, as yesterday was my first experience in here, was a bad experience, the chances of a second experience is slim to none. Also, the receipts said "limeade". When I inquired about that, the waitress said "that's what we call it"🙃 Note: I hated that the 20% gratuity was added as I most definitely feel it wasn't worth. I won't act like it wasn't on the menu tho. Just wasn't worth it at all.
