Beso Brooklyn Reviews
Went on a Tuesday so the menu was like sample sizes of their regular dishes... So I had wings (delicious) pork chop and mash (it was ok) sweet plantains (eh) but the 2 for 1 mojitos was what it was about. They were Strong like two had me questioning if I should have ubered. Had to chill out for a bit. It was a good time, great place for a date. Not too pricey, decent selection.
Excellent food and service! It's a bit loud... but a vibe if you're down for it! Pleaseeee keep the pork chops on the menu! Juicy & flavorful!! Amazing!! ....along with the oxtail pasta!! The mango sangria is EVERYTHING!!!
Last night we celebrated my husband's birthday, we were originally a party of 17 but I had cancellations and it dropped to 13. Beso staff was were very attentive to us even with the constant changes & cancelations we had. I coordinated with Ashley via text/ email in order to get my reservation in order for such a big party. She was very sweet, communicative. The food & drinks are Sensational !!!!.. I loved!! the music it was r&b, hip-hop, reaggee, afro beats, latin exc... (Very eclitic) The waitress was very sweet and checked in on us a lot. We had a (3) full family style entree & (3) full family appetizers of Salmon with rice, Oxtail with pasta and Chicken with black beans and rice. The appetizers was Max & Cheese, Nachos and cheese & wings Everything was sooo good!!!!! I only had the a portion of there menu from there package but when I return I will try other dishes. Don't sleep on this restaurant, it's a hidden Gem!
Came here from work craving pasta and Chef AL recommended the new sea food pasta with shrimp, lobster, and salmon. Listen to me, it’s absolutely delicious and the seafood is cooked beautifully. And the seafood is so fresh!!! 😩🙌🏾✨👏🏾❤️😋I always get great service when here and my favorite waitress is Tolia!
When we arrived , they were doing a transition from brunch to dinner. They allowed me & our party to sit & wait while we order drinks. We enjoyed the drinks that were buy 1 get one free. I had the oxtail pasta. The best oxtail pasta I’ve had in a while. My friends and I look forward to returning again.
The food was absolutely fantastic I went here today for my moms birthday and nothing disappointed the only feedback I can give is that the deviled eggs filling was a bit dry and under seasoned and the drinks could be a bit sweeter other than that it was beautiful the food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing!!! 10/10
The food was fantastic I got the chicken and French toast it was definitely more then enough. The chicken was amazingly cooked along withthe thick cut French toast and my boyfriend got the ox tail mac and cheese and he said it was amazing I tried the ox tail and it in fact was amazing cant wait to go back !
My first time in Brooklyn and got recommended this spot, and it did not disappoint. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, good music selection that makes you wanna move. Can’t go wrong with the oxtail Mac n cheese ands their strawberry lemonade was on point! I definitely plan on stopping by again during my next visit
The oxtail macaroni and cheese was flavorful and wonderful TASTING. I really enjoyed it nicely seasoned succulent meat. The oxtail pasta was also a delightful dish as well. Very nicely al dente pasta with succulent oxtails also. Very nice eating area towards the back. The front of the bar is great also. I also tried their wings some time ago they are also very good. Happy eating everyone. I will definitely be back again and again and again
Ok, this was our first time here, and I must tell you the drinks were good. The food starts with the wings and fries, then next to the red velvet chicken and waffles omg. My friend had the Mac and cheese with oxtails..got damn it was good. This place is definitely worth visiting. We shall be back, that's for sure. Yes, the atmosphere is relaxing and worthy.
I had such a wonderful moment,✨A big shoutout to the Dj who played some good Haitian music for us😍 The restaurant offers highly flavorful food with a diverse menu, providing plenty of choices. Alcoholic drinks are light and not overpowering. The lobster tail was a standout, described as amazing. Very special thanks to Neka Andre; we received the best service 🥰
Visited here for Tapas Tuesday and it was VERY busy. We were able to get a table and the food was excellent but the accompanying drinks weren’t so strong. Our waiter was super accommodating and made adjustments for us to make up for it. The music was great too so all around a good vibe. Would recommend going early in the day to take advantage of Tapas Tuesday or booking in advance to avoid the wait as the place is small. I’d come back another time to explore other menu options. Everything looked great!
Beso's menu offered ambitious drinks and dishes with Caribbean flavor. Friends liked the Oxtail Mac and Cheese. Very limited choices if you are vegetarian or vegan though, but plantains were just the way I like them! Service was wonderful. Ended the night with photos on their swing. Call in for reservations if you're with a group. There's a cocktail hour before dinner which I believe starts at 8PM. My friends and I had a great time.
Enjoyed myself here! Solo friendly too, there were at least three other solo diners there (not including myself). The food was nice, the vibes great - I heard Afrobeats, Soca, RnB and Hip Hop music. I had a great time overall. Nicely priced. Only disappointment was that only Tapas Tuesday menu was available which was a bit limiting; affordable though. I would have liked to taste other things on the menu. Service also slowed as they got busier but it can be understood.
Popped in last minute and I must say I really enjoyed my meal. The drinks were also very nice. Don’t believe the bad reviews, drop in and give it a try for yourself. My only suggestion to the chef would be to go a little lighter on the seasoning in the oxtail. Thanks for your great service, Malcolm!
Went here for brunch after Pilates. The staff at Beso were lovely and very welcoming. I sat at the bar, so I didn't have to wait for a table. There was a bit of a wait for those who needed one, which made the area by the entrance/bar area a little crowded. I got there around 2:20 on a Saturday for reference. I had the grits with oxtail, which was great and a cocktail. Very lovely spot, good music. Loved the atmosphere. I will be back. Thank you, Beso.
I came all the way from Jersey despite the reviews and I wanted to support a black-owned place. Although their service needs quite a bit of help as I waited to even be spoken to for 15 minutes and there were plenty of tables open near the bar. The food was a huge recovery everything was really good and the oxtail was so tender!! Have the red velvet cake and rum punch as well and thank me later. DJ was also a vibe! They seem to be working on a limited menu.
Honestly it’s hard to write this review. The taste was 9/10 for me but the service was horrible. Drinks took 30mins food took 30mins for apps and then another 40 for entree and we thought we would be smart and order dessert while we waited on the food and of course the dessert came out first and when I tried to explain that we hadn’t eaten the entrees yet he was confused like he didn’t understand. We got the Frozen chocolate martini but it wasn’t frozen at all. Also all over the internet they are garnish beautifully with chocolate and nuts but no. Just a liquid mess. While the food was good it wasn’t worth the wait. Also the bill was 180 and the tip is automatic which is why the service is bad. They don’t have to work for it.
Utensils and glassware were dirty! When asked to replace they brought a glass with a previous patrons lipstick and previous drinks. Our water was tap. Our food was served 20 minutes after our arrival but in a party of 5, each of us was served our dishes in 10 minute intervals of cold food. The wait staff was pleasant but were more accommodating to the Birthday Brunch than the other patrons. DJ was great but my family and I will not return.
My experience here on 11/2/2025. We went here as a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday yesterday. We parked around the corner on Macon about 1040am. The restaurant opens at 11am on Sunday. As the restaurant opened, we followed a separate group of 6. All were seated less than 10 minutes from opening of the establishment. Note: That's not a bad thing. I'm just painting the picture. As you enter the dining area in the back of the establishment, you see how they did a good job with the dining area. The swing they have there is a dope add for the picture takers. All 4 of us ordered individual meals with an appetizer of empanadas. Upon seeing lemonade on the menu, I became happy as I love fresh squeezed lemonade. Quite often though restaurants let me down with the use of only lemon juice or any other alternatives to actual lemons. I inquired was it fresh squeezed and the waitress said it was. 2 were ordered. 2 of the 4 meals that were ordered was scrambled eggs & beef sausages as well as french toast and bacon. I can't remember what the other 2 meals were as we never saw them. Stay tuned. The drinks pretty much came out immediately. Once I saw the color of the "lemonade" my radar was up but I still wanted to actually try it before I praise or criticize it. I'll post pic of drink. Upon sipping the lemonade, I was convinced I was finessed. It had to be water with a lemon in it as I smelled the lemon while drinking it but most certainly didn't taste it. There was also no pulp which is usually in fresh squeezed lemonade now that I think of it. About 1135am, the empanadas came out along with the sausages(no eggs) & bacon(no french toast). The sausage appeared to be pork links so I asked "what kind of sausages are these?". The waitress replied "pork". Then I mentioned that "I asked for beef" for the waitress to reply "it is beef". Now I'm aware that the link sausages also comes in beef, but usually when one says "beef sausages" links are not associated with that. My child said the bacon tasted funny. We, the parents, tried the bacon out. Mom think it was air fried. I believe it was the brand because I had air fried bacon from brands that I eat and it tasted exactly the same as fried or baked with less grease. At this point, it's about 1150am & no other food items came out. I quickly checked some prior reviews and saw that someone else had a similar interaction with pieces from their meal coming out in "10 min intervals". 13 mins or so with only a portion of a complete meals, I asked the group if they wanted to leave? They all said yes. Once I got the waitress' attention, I told her to keep the remaining food that didn't come out and we'll pay for what was brought out. The waitress never inquired why, took a few minutes which I thought was for her to talk to the mgr but eventually I got up and to find her so we can pay the bill. As we were leaving, she said to me "have to a good day" as I said "thank you. The same to you." Funny thing is my lady has been here 3 times counting yesterday and had 2 not good experiences prior to yesterday. I told her she's better than me because if my first experience, as yesterday was my first experience in here, was a bad experience, the chances of a second experience is slim to none. Also, the receipts said "limeade". When I inquired about that, the waitress said "that's what we call it"🙃 Note: I hated that the 20% gratuity was added as I most definitely feel it wasn't worth. I won't act like it wasn't on the menu tho. Just wasn't worth it at all.
