Great breakfast sandwiches and service just wish there was more seating
Amazing bread, ingredients, and tastes. The best sandwiches for miles around
The best coffee shop in the neighborhood!!!! Best matcha I ever had and great sandwiches!
Wonderful staff and amazing lattes!
Great breakfast sandwich, great coffee, knowledgeable staff. I totally recommend.
A great cafe with amazing staff. The salads are my favorite!
Best coffee shop in the area. Sandwiches are absolutely killer too.
Breakfast sandwiches are absolutely delicious and very affordable!
Great sandwiches, haven't tried anything else yet
delicious!! everything is had so yummy and I definitely will be back!
Great little coffer shop, friendly staff and excellent light. A really good place to work from as they have enough seats and electrical sockets.
They are awesome great sandwiches and awesome coffee plus Daddy, Peter, Martha & Lana they are doing great job 😉☺️
Delicious coffee. Definitely coming back for the sandwiches. The shop smelled amazing!
This place is amazing! I always get the matcha and it’s so good. The owner is really awesome as well!
This place has the most amazing sandwiches! The egg and chorizo is on point. The coffee is pricey but superb as well.
Amazing sandwiches and good coffee. The nova is classic, even the burger is great. Hard to go wrong. Usually cafes either lack in food or coffee but Calyer is a rare exception.
Wow, food matches the reviews. 5 star. Had the chorizo breakfast sandwich with guac. $9.50. Super yummy. Coffee game is solid too.
Delicious coffee is an accompaniment to some of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city. The chorizo breakfast sandwich is excellent.
I’ve lived in the area for about six years. I’ve seen this place and walked passed probably a million times. Today I decided to go in for lunch. I got a meatball parmesan. I’m going to try to describe how amazing this meatball Parm was without using profanity, it was (fill in the blank) ing amazing! I’m 39 years old is possibly the best meatball Parmesan I’ve ever had and it had the audacity to be visually appetizing. I wish that I took a picture but I devoured it in seconds. I am going to now try everything on the menu
Today the Chicken Tinga became my favorite sandwich of all time. Bread was perfectly baked. Knockout flavors.
Everything in Calyer is absolutely delicious! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything they have to offer! I went with the Brekkie sandwich with an iced coffee and was not disappointed! I’ll definitely be returning back!
they always got my back like wow… the baristas always remember me and put my name in without asking… i love u guys yummy burger yummy blt and i love blts so getting one here for lunch is such a treat… this is my fav lunch spot i love you guys
Lovely intimate local breakfast joint. Shakshuka breakfast sandwich is off the charts!
Definitely my favorite place of all! At this point, I order the Chicken Tinga sandwich every week. But tbh all of their sandwiches are amazing (I just can't say no to the Tinga)
Cute little cafe with breakfast and lunch options. We had egg sandwich, pastries. All was tasty and served pretty quickly.
Legit sandwich. Got the broccoli rob Ruben with turkey. Excellent. Next time I’ll get it w out Russian but very good.
I'm working my way through the menu but the salads and sandwiches are fresh and flavorful. Good to have options as a non-coffee drinker.
Great place for coffee and breakfast. The server was friendly and quick. I live in the area and would definitely go back!
One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Wonderful coffee and friendly staff, too.
They pull the best shots in the area. Whoever dials in here is doing top notch work. Thanks for the great espresso!
It’s a great spot to eat breakfast I order turkey club sandwich and ice almond milk latte it’s was so good great spot.
Nice little cafe with good coffee and great sandwiches. The meatball parm was fantastic, highly recommend it.
Stopped by here for a coffee and a book to read. The atmosphere is clean and super chill 😎 There was plenty of seating available, even with me occupying a spot for 2 hours. Outside seating is available too. It looked pretty and spotless. During the times I looked up from my book, there was a nice rotation of customers and dogs. The aromas coming from the kitchen and eavesdropping customer orders had me wondering if I should get food as well. Unfortunately, I didn't. But next time for sure!
Literally the best selection of food I’ve ever seen at a cafe and even restaurants for that matter?! Everything is amazing and good portion size. Attention to every detail, I’ve never been so satisfied by the taste and texture of salads while also feeling full after and not paying an arm and a leg. The staff are so kind, and I applaud the owners for setting the bar so high - other owners take note, this is how it’s done! I just wish they were open later because it’s so good id eat here for dinner too - you should think of starting a casual, tasty and affordable restaurant :P
Calyer makes my favorite egg sandwich! The brioche bun is a soft pillow and the eggs are folded nicely with just the right amount of cheese and seasoning. The staff is a wonderful balance of professional and friendly.
This is my go-to spot for a quick breakfast or lunch! They have a wide variety of delicious sandwiches, and a good selection of healthy salads. My favorite is the the Kale Caesar Salad. I like their drink selection too - they have a large fridge with juices, teas, and kombucha, and can make any classic café drinks. The people who work there are also very friendly and welcoming!
My almond milk latte is literally still warm. Just got home and had to share that this is the best latte I've ever had in my life. And it smelled really good in there. Definitely stop by if you have the chance. Editing this over 1 year later to say I just had the turkey club and their sandwiches are also amazing!
If you need to satisfy your caffeine addiction and fill up your belly with some delicious food then look no further, this is the place to be. Hands down some of the best coffee I've had in a while. Not too bitter, but brewed to perfection. I have tried almost every sandwich on the menu, and not one has disappointed me. You could taste the quality in each bite as the ingredients in each sandwich go so well together. My go to is the Tinga as I like a little spicy kick in my food. The staff is super friendly, and the owner seems extremely chill. I could not say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend giving this place a shot, and you will never look back.
“Just wow” was my first reaction upon entering this establishment. Once inside, I was greeted with friendly smiles and a warm environment. The customer experience I received at the counter while ordering was immaculate, the girl in the blue striped sweater was very professional and extremely efficient when taking my order. After a brief wait at my table for my sandwich, I was approached by a man dressed like a chef, he handed me my chicken fry sandwich in a compassionate manner and firmly shook my hand. The most memorable part of that experience was his mesmerizing smile, one that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Sitting at the glass facing table, watching the calm city ambiance as cars passed by, I took a bite into my sandwich, it was fabulous! I can tell it was made with love. As I was leaving, I was struck by a deep sadness, because leaving was something I couldn’t fathom. My swift sadness was then cleared, remembering that I will soon be back for round two. Until next time Calyer cafe, thank you for this incredible experience.
The coffees fire and dare I say the best on Myrtle (yes I’ve tried them all). But pricey, $7 for an oatmilk latte is steep but they really are so good. They also have lavender syrup for lattes. The egg used for their breakfast sandwiches is the precooked yellow egg (think McDonald’s) so I’m not a fan of the cooked food but their salads and croissants are pretty good.
A first-time customer, I ordered 3 sandwiches to go, so I could only say something about their food. Very delicious sandwiches, all well-made and in good portion. All priced reasonably. I will absolutely go back for more next time.
Amazing shakshuka, not exactly how it’s done back home and how I do it myself but absolutely fantasize and out of this world. Will get your mouth drooling on that amazing sense of flavor and spiciness ( yes apparently they make it spicy but i promise you it adds to the flavor), MUST TRY PLEASE. they’re coffee is really good too, I usually get flat whites from them and they combine it in a amazing way!
Excellent! I work across the street at Pratt Institute and just noticed a sign saying they have sandwiches and salads! Good for them. More coffee shops should start offering food. When you don't want a deli but also not a sit down restaurant it's perfect. The Turkey sandwich and the Chicken Tinga are great. Any NO CHEESE - I could eat the whole thing without problem.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the area! All of their food is well made and delicious plus they have a great coffee and drink selection. Lots of vegetarian options including an incredible broccoli reuben. The barista Eri is always kind and helpful. Clean space with a few tables and some counter seating.
I’ve been coming here for years truly can’t appreciate how nice the staff is. Everyone is super chill and they make amazing coffee. Definitely recommend checking out their food.
Finally tried this place out over the weekend and ended up going back the next day for more. Their sandwiches are some of the best I’ve had in the city. Perfectly made from top to bottom. The Chicken Tinga is amazing as well as the Chickpea Salad and the Turkey Club. Working my way through the whole menu. Go check this place out.
The Vegan Kale Salad is amazinggggggg. The staff is super friendly specially Alex. He knows exactly how to make me my favorite coffee. The cafe prepares the food on time and is very clean. LOVE IT
Calyer has great sandwiches and coffee. All of their brunch sandwiches(beckie, chori, nova, etc.) are delicious and very filling. Their lunch sandwiches and burgers are equally great. Their cold brew is really good, and their pastries are fantastic as well. They do offer a wide variety of non-dairy milk substitutes for coffee. Their service is speedy and their food and drinks are consistently good.
Had the Chori Sandwich earlier today, was amazing. Needed to increase protein today and that was the best decision I made all day. Peter was great, sampled the brew coffee, it was delicious. This is definitely a go to gourmet sandwich spot for sure. Wishing you lots of success Cayler, keep up the great quality and service! Planning on coming back for more.
This place is incredible. I’ve tried a few different breakfast and lunch items and every single one was amazing. The staff is always so nice, it always smells incredible in there, the coffee is great. My favorite spot in the neighborhood.
These guys are awesome and the food is too. I’ve never had the instinct that I want to support a local business more. These guys were amazing before the pandemic and really made life easier after lockdown. If these folks want to make something really big, I have a good feeling they could.
Consistently great coffee. The surprise hit here is the food. From the tiny kitchen in the back, they pump out incredibly delicious sandwiches and other stuff. This is my local spot for a coffee and a quick bite and it's never failed me.
Came here on a Wednesday afternoon during my lunch break. I stop by sometimes and always have a great experience. The baristas are genuinely nice and want to help give you a good experience. I ordered something and asked for a modification after it was made, and they kindly accommodated me. Great drinks too!
We stayed in an Airbnb nearby and luckily discovered this gem on our first day! The Nova sandwich is delicious. We also tried the tuna salad sandwich, which tasted good as well. And our iced lattes were always a hit.
I came here twice in one week because it was really good and I wanted to try another sandwich — and it didn’t disappoint. On my first visit, I had the Chicken Katsu. It was delicious, rich in flavor, and had a nice Japanese vibe. On my second visit, I tried the Chicken Fry. It might be one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had in Brooklyn. The special sauce is savory, and the chicken breast is crunchy outside and amazingly tender inside. Wow! The price is also very reasonable, which makes it even more worth it. Can’t wait to come back again next time!
A very cute cafe. Staff is generally very sweet and friendly. The vibes of the cafe are also nice and they have free wifi. Lattes are delicious especially honey lavender and vanilla lattes. We got the egg and cheese sandwich and chocolate croissant which were good.
I don’t usually order tuna salad out but this sounded so good. Legit the best tuna sandwich I’ve ever had.
this place is so beautiful! staff is amazing, it was my first time and i was confused but i got help and a few a—mazing recommendations from the cashier, i didn’t catch their name but they were great! whoever worked today deserves a raise! i got the egg and cheese from the breakfast menu and the shakshuka sandwich and they were both… amazing!!! it tasted like it was made, not pre-heated or any of that stuff that i’m used to. 10/10 would go again this is such a cute spot, amazing music too haha. you have to come here!
Balsamic salad was good for a light lunch, but order something in addition if you are very hungry. Cute cafe with good healthy options.
Had a sandwich here it tastes great! I forgot what it's called, it's the one with fish and egg in it. The bun has a toasted crunch inside, I like it so much. The fella at the counter was nice and helpful. Definitely be coming back since it's on my way to school every day.
fantastic nova sandwich! amazing food, great oat milk latte, good service. nice seating area ( comfy stools, nice wooden window tables).
cool lil cafe with exceptionally made sandwiches. bread was toasted and perfectly layered with the toppings, broccoli rabe was cooked proper and had just a lil spicy peppers and some fully melted mozz. can't wait to come back. coffee is super strong
Sandwiches can be a piece of art when they combine fresh hand made ingredients in a well balanced combination of flavors. They should not be pre-prepared, rubbery or dry; they should not have too much meat or save on the amount of cheese. Calyer is a welcomed addition to a neighborhood that does not take its food very seriously. Luckily this Cafe is honoring and respecting the art of bread-in-betweenness. Come to explore the whole menu, it would not disappoint a demanding palate.
Stopped in here for an iced tea. Looked at their menu, saw the vibe, and my brain forced me get the meatball parm because 1) I freaking love meatball parm/meatballs in any form and 2) they way they described it on the menu sounded like they knew what they were doing. Dang they really do know what they’re doing. Was one of the BEST meatball parm heros I’ve ever had. SHEESH! I’ll be back tomorrow.

vanilla cappuccino w. Almond milk, loved it! ☕️

a neighborhood favorite-fantastic coffee and good (albeit small) pastry selection. very fresh atmosphere too. overall just a trusty local gem side note: I haven’t dived into the food. tried one sandwich and thought it was so so-i stick with the coffee which is again fantastic
Lived here 3 years and this is my favorite spot in the neighborhood. We eat here often, great coffee but the food is the star. All of the food is 10/10, the Cuban sandwhich is the best I've ever had.
Very friendly staff! They take their time and give recommendations without making you feel rushed or like your questions are an annoyance. I got an iced chai latte (good size and good price) and the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and very hearty. They have a ton of good sandwich options so I’m excited to try more.
Yummy sandwiches (recommend the Chicken Fry and Chicken Katsu), kind and helpful staff, reasonable prices. Will definitely be back to try different things.
Great sandwiches with very friendly and responsive staff. The sandwiches are made fresh when you order them, so expect a few minutes’ wait (it’s worth it). The place is packed at lunchtime during the school year (Pratt students get a discount). Stop in ahead of noon to beat the lunch crowd or grab one of their variety of coffees.
Delicious sandwich with gluten free bread options. Thick bread and filling. Definitely coming again.

Delicious food and coffee. Kitchen smell is overpowering in the dine in area.
I tried the place since it looked like the more healthy alternative to the surrounding quick bite spots. It was fast, the burger was super salty but fine. 20$ for a burger with fries is a lot though. The thing that rubs me the wrong way as usual is that even though I ordered to stay, everything including the water came in single use packaging. So, won't come back.
The coffee is delicious! the breakfast sandwiches are ok... The egg is not real egg but instead that rectangular artificial egg on brioche bun to fancy it up a bit. I'd say don't bother with the food but they do coffee and chai lattes really well.
Great staff and awesome coffee but the egg sandwich was pretty disappointing yall. For the price you pay, while Bergen Bagels is right down the road, there's not even cheese on it. And bacon is $2 extra.... for a sandwich that otherwise is literally just bread and egg. Maybe they forgot my cheese? Who knows.
The food here is good compared to the options we have in this area. I was happy with the burger but was disappointed with the fries. They were all burnt, almost like they were left over-only an inch or two long-not long like regular fries. When they asked if I wanted fries with my burger I said “sure” but should have checked the price. It was an additional $8.00 for fries. My fault for not asking. Coffee here is good but not the spot for matcha. The iced matcha was flavorless and very grainy. Customer service was friendly.
Best damn chicken sandwich I ever had in my life. Wow. I wish I took a pic before I devoured it. Omggg. Literally a perfect sandwich. Perfect crunch. Perfectly seasoned. Perfect toppings. Perfectly savory. Just wow.
The nova breakfast, with egg and salmon, was decent. I wouldn't say I liked it, but it was better than "just ok" -- a 3.5+ I suppose, so I will round up to 4 ⭐. The chai latte was slightly better than I had expected: I rarely have chai because I find them too sweet, and so I was disappointed when I realized that I had mistakenly ordered the chai latte instead of my usual matcha latte. However it was not terribly sweet, so that was good. For the service it wasn't bad or anything, but I give a 3 ⭐ because they never asked which chai latte size I wanted (there were medium and large options), and whether I wanted hot or iced.

I have to say how nice the staff was and how smiley they were without being patronizing. There was a chill vibe that I feel is missing on some of the newer spots on Myrtle in CH area. Really love the overall vibe and harmony thats there and from who works there. The barista and cashier who were working on my day were so nice! The reason also I am bothering to make a review is the Katsu sandwhich. It is so good. It would be perfect if they made the milk bread just a bit more fluffier like tradtional milk bread because thier chicken mayo everything else is crazzy good. Curious if they changed management in the last year or so cause the vibe is way better and the food it way more lit. Do wish there was a better spot for people to wait without getting in the way. I usually dont really leave reviews unless i really like a place or really dont love and i really liked it here and want to give them a lil shout out.

Ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich which was $14 n change after tax. They used chicken strips to make it and the chicken wasn't flavorful enough, and I eat hamburgers with only ketchup. Wasn't a fan of their sauce either. Definitely a pass especially for the price. Review is just about the food
Ham & Cheese sandwich was rather underwhelming. Was expecting wayyyy more meat & cheese. But it’s literally the skimpiest portion of ham and 2 sad looking slices of cheese. This sandwich is about as basic as it gets and local delis will LOAD up on the meat & cheese quickly, but apparently not here. I also see what they were trying to do with the fig jam, but I don’t think it quite worked in the sandwich. The Tinga is okay. However it has a very specific and strong tasting flavor profile (I was trying to identify what spice it was - think maybe cumin) so you’ll either love it or hate it. I’m not a huge fan of whatever spice that is, so it was okay for me, but not something I’d order again. But I can see most people finding it delicious - it’s very rich & flavorful. They did a great job with it. And were very generous with the meat - so not sure why the ham & cheese came out so sad. The fries were ok. If you’re a super skinny & salty McDonalds-style fries person, you’ll probably just find it average. Not anything to rave about. Walter’s down Dekalb is still the GOAT of fries for me. I do think the House sauce that accompanied it was nice. All in all, I’m unlikely to order here again. But might do so in a pinch and try something else on the menu. Oh and the cashier is really nice!

So average. Coffee is too milky every time.
You can be first in line, and still be served after the 10 people behind you. And this. ALL THE TIME. I’ll go to Peck’s down the street from now.
Cashier did not greet or acknowledge me , but was much rather hostile and asked me what do you want to order. I didn’t know that customer service was missing in this establishment, never coming back !!
Not worth it at all, takes forever to get your order. By the time food came it was ice cold
When asking for a coffee mixed with any type of milk, it is s as an opportunity for the barista to reuse Coffee grounds; therefore, a $6 dollar coffee tastes like liking an ashtray.
