Opiniones de Calyer Cafe & Kitchen Brooklyn
I came here twice in one week because it was really good and I wanted to try another sandwich — and it didn’t disappoint. On my first visit, I had the Chicken Katsu. It was delicious, rich in flavor, and had a nice Japanese vibe. On my second visit, I tried the Chicken Fry. It might be one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had in Brooklyn. The special sauce is savory, and the chicken breast is crunchy outside and amazingly tender inside. Wow! The price is also very reasonable, which makes it even more worth it. Can’t wait to come back again next time!
A very cute cafe. Staff is generally very sweet and friendly. The vibes of the cafe are also nice and they have free wifi. Lattes are delicious especially honey lavender and vanilla lattes. We got the egg and cheese sandwich and chocolate croissant which were good.
I don’t usually order tuna salad out but this sounded so good. Legit the best tuna sandwich I’ve ever had.
this place is so beautiful! staff is amazing, it was my first time and i was confused but i got help and a few a—mazing recommendations from the cashier, i didn’t catch their name but they were great! whoever worked today deserves a raise! i got the egg and cheese from the breakfast menu and the shakshuka sandwich and they were both… amazing!!! it tasted like it was made, not pre-heated or any of that stuff that i’m used to. 10/10 would go again this is such a cute spot, amazing music too haha. you have to come here!
Balsamic salad was good for a light lunch, but order something in addition if you are very hungry. Cute cafe with good healthy options.
Had a sandwich here it tastes great! I forgot what it's called, it's the one with fish and egg in it. The bun has a toasted crunch inside, I like it so much. The fella at the counter was nice and helpful. Definitely be coming back since it's on my way to school every day.
fantastic nova sandwich! amazing food, great oat milk latte, good service. nice seating area ( comfy stools, nice wooden window tables).
cool lil cafe with exceptionally made sandwiches. bread was toasted and perfectly layered with the toppings, broccoli rabe was cooked proper and had just a lil spicy peppers and some fully melted mozz. can't wait to come back. coffee is super strong
Sandwiches can be a piece of art when they combine fresh hand made ingredients in a well balanced combination of flavors. They should not be pre-prepared, rubbery or dry; they should not have too much meat or save on the amount of cheese. Calyer is a welcomed addition to a neighborhood that does not take its food very seriously. Luckily this Cafe is honoring and respecting the art of bread-in-betweenness. Come to explore the whole menu, it would not disappoint a demanding palate.
Stopped in here for an iced tea. Looked at their menu, saw the vibe, and my brain forced me get the meatball parm because 1) I freaking love meatball parm/meatballs in any form and 2) they way they described it on the menu sounded like they knew what they were doing. Dang they really do know what they’re doing. Was one of the BEST meatball parm heros I’ve ever had. SHEESH! I’ll be back tomorrow.

vanilla cappuccino w. Almond milk, loved it! ☕️

a neighborhood favorite-fantastic coffee and good (albeit small) pastry selection. very fresh atmosphere too. overall just a trusty local gem side note: I haven’t dived into the food. tried one sandwich and thought it was so so-i stick with the coffee which is again fantastic
Lived here 3 years and this is my favorite spot in the neighborhood. We eat here often, great coffee but the food is the star. All of the food is 10/10, the Cuban sandwhich is the best I've ever had.
Very friendly staff! They take their time and give recommendations without making you feel rushed or like your questions are an annoyance. I got an iced chai latte (good size and good price) and the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and very hearty. They have a ton of good sandwich options so I’m excited to try more.
Yummy sandwiches (recommend the Chicken Fry and Chicken Katsu), kind and helpful staff, reasonable prices. Will definitely be back to try different things.
Great sandwiches with very friendly and responsive staff. The sandwiches are made fresh when you order them, so expect a few minutes’ wait (it’s worth it). The place is packed at lunchtime during the school year (Pratt students get a discount). Stop in ahead of noon to beat the lunch crowd or grab one of their variety of coffees.
Delicious sandwich with gluten free bread options. Thick bread and filling. Definitely coming again.

Consistently great coffee. The surprise hit here is the food. From the tiny kitchen in the back, they pump out incredibly delicious sandwiches and other stuff. This is my local spot for a coffee and a quick bite and it's never failed me.
Best damn chicken sandwich I ever had in my life. Wow. I wish I took a pic before I devoured it. Omggg. Literally a perfect sandwich. Perfect crunch. Perfectly seasoned. Perfect toppings. Perfectly savory. Just wow.
The nova breakfast, with egg and salmon, was decent. I wouldn't say I liked it, but it was better than "just ok" -- a 3.5+ I suppose, so I will round up to 4 ⭐. The chai latte was slightly better than I had expected: I rarely have chai because I find them too sweet, and so I was disappointed when I realized that I had mistakenly ordered the chai latte instead of my usual matcha latte. However it was not terribly sweet, so that was good. For the service it wasn't bad or anything, but I give a 3 ⭐ because they never asked which chai latte size I wanted (there were medium and large options), and whether I wanted hot or iced.

I have to say how nice the staff was and how smiley they were without being patronizing. There was a chill vibe that I feel is missing on some of the newer spots on Myrtle in CH area. Really love the overall vibe and harmony thats there and from who works there. The barista and cashier who were working on my day were so nice! The reason also I am bothering to make a review is the Katsu sandwhich. It is so good. It would be perfect if they made the milk bread just a bit more fluffier like tradtional milk bread because thier chicken mayo everything else is crazzy good. Curious if they changed management in the last year or so cause the vibe is way better and the food it way more lit. Do wish there was a better spot for people to wait without getting in the way. I usually dont really leave reviews unless i really like a place or really dont love and i really liked it here and want to give them a lil shout out.
The food here is good compared to the options we have in this area. I was happy with the burger but was disappointed with the fries. They were all burnt, almost like they were left over-only an inch or two long-not long like regular fries. When they asked if I wanted fries with my burger I said “sure” but should have checked the price. It was an additional $8.00 for fries. My fault for not asking. Coffee here is good but not the spot for matcha. The iced matcha was flavorless and very grainy. Customer service was friendly.

Ham & Cheese sandwich was rather underwhelming. Was expecting wayyyy more meat & cheese. But it’s literally the skimpiest portion of ham and 2 sad looking slices of cheese. This sandwich is about as basic as it gets and local delis will LOAD up on the meat & cheese quickly, but apparently not here. I also see what they were trying to do with the fig jam, but I don’t think it quite worked in the sandwich. The Tinga is okay. However it has a very specific and strong tasting flavor profile (I was trying to identify what spice it was - think maybe cumin) so you’ll either love it or hate it. I’m not a huge fan of whatever spice that is, so it was okay for me, but not something I’d order again. But I can see most people finding it delicious - it’s very rich & flavorful. They did a great job with it. And were very generous with the meat - so not sure why the ham & cheese came out so sad. The fries were ok. If you’re a super skinny & salty McDonalds-style fries person, you’ll probably just find it average. Not anything to rave about. Walter’s down Dekalb is still the GOAT of fries for me. I do think the House sauce that accompanied it was nice. All in all, I’m unlikely to order here again. But might do so in a pinch and try something else on the menu. Oh and the cashier is really nice!
