Loved this brunch place. We had the ricotta pancakes, one of the best I ever had. And also the chicken sandwich with fries, wow it was so good. We could sit outside in the sun, which was beautiful! Definitely coming back!
I came here on a weekday (Monday) early afternoon for a quick bite! The food was delicious! Ordered a falafel platter to start off along with the spicy crispy chicken and a the Fives Leaves Burger! The drinks were also good and adjusted for flavor preference. I had the Michelada Verde which I found to be very good! The spot had a few other tables and not too busy. The staff were very friendly and attentive! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody in the area!
Some of my favorite food in Brooklyn for a relaxed vibe yet upscale quality food. Think house-maf fermented salsa, truffle fries, perfectly cooked burger with high quality/well sourced meat, the best (ricotta) pancakes you've ever had, fun cocktails and mocktails too! Everything I've eaten there has been amazing, great for dates, friend meet-ups, showing guests the area, and more! They also have fun cocktails and mocktails and coffee too! LOVE this restaurant.
Great experience. The veggie burger was unique and interesting instead of the standard vegan option of "impossible patty and lettuce," which is appreciated as a vegetarian. Appetizers were interesting and delicious, and our drinks (hot toddy & hot cider) were spicy and just what we needed on a cold night. Thank you Five Leaves!
Quintessential local institution with plenty of homey & rustic charm, Aussie-inspired American comfort food, and fun local crowd along with a bunch of out of-towners. The 5 Leaves Burger is a down-under style classic with pineapple and beetroot, the Bloody Mary has a great kick, the portions are generous, and the French dip on a wintery morn is another go-to comfort staple. But everything else I’ve tried over the years has been great too. Keep in mind: this is a place where you go when you want to enjoy life and don’t want to be rushed. Don’t expect fast-casual speed at peak hrs. The terrace seating has definitely increased capacity since pandemic but the kitchen size I assume is the same… look at the building and you do the math. It’s also pretty cozily-packed and very social on weekends, so if you’re looking for quaint and quiet this is not the time for you to visit. You can’t really go wrong here except for getting there at peak rush hour on the weekend and having to wait longer - but honestly, the location is so ideal I never really mind, as there’s plenty around McCarren park and neighbouring streets to stroll around before coming back and enjoying something delicious at 5 leaves. Just embrace the whole experience. Long live 5 Leaves!
five leaves was the first restaurant i visited on my first ever trip to nyc in 2017. ever since then coming back here has become a tradition. 8 years on and the spot is still just as warm and welcoming, albeit way more busy which is incredible to see because the place deserves to thrive. easily my fav spot in the city (i fully blame the ricotta pancakes). i haven’t been to nyc in years but coming back here today felt like coming home in so many ways. thank you cody for taking such great care of me and thank you everyone at five leaves for even making a tourist feel like a part of the community. 🫶 (also pls restock those tote bags, the nation needs them!!)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Leaves never disappoints! The Moroccan Scramble was bursting with flavor—perfectly spiced, hearty, and balanced in every bite. Pairing that with their Ricotta Pancakes was absolute magic. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and indulgent, with just the right touch of sweetness—truly next level. The vibe is classic Five Leaves: lively, stylish, and welcoming, with a menu that always manages to impress. If you’re in the area, this spot is a must for both comfort and creativity
arrived right in the golden sunshine hour yesterday during happy hour. popped my head in and was greeted immediately by a kind woman who plopped me at a table in the sun..oh how i love the sun! i hovered over the happy hour menu, torn between fish and chips or falafel, when camilla???my server (if memory serves she was wearing a blue striped dress and was very kind!) came with perfect guidance. falafel it was a decision i didnt regret soooo delicious the portion was just enough to tide me over before a late dinner. not too pricey either, so def recommend for happy hour energy and a cute little space for a solo moment. i sat, watched the world drift by, and had to scamper off when a message buzzed through, but what a tiny, lovely slice of time at this place thanks for all!
You know a place is memorable when a single dish stays with you—and the Five Leaves burger does exactly that. It’s a bold creation: grass-fed beef, a fried pineapple ring, house‑pickled beets, harissa mayo, and a sunny-side-up egg all stacked on a ciabatta bun. The combination—sweet, savory, rich, and unexpected—works in delicious harmony. More than just the food, Five Leaves carries a distinct personality. The interior blends vintage nautical charm with urban intimacy—think cozy corners, worn textures, and a relaxed, hipster‑friendly vibe.
Went for my friends birthday brunch and we had a reservation for 6. Honestly have nothing bad to say about this place! It is quite small so make sure to make a reservation if you don’t want to wait long! Service is great everyone was so kind. Food was amazing! They have great breakfast options until 3 and then a fabulous dinner menu! Probably the best margaritas I’ve ever had to be honest! Would definitely go again!
Delicious brunch! You can't go wrong with the pancakes or the Moroccan Scramble. We sat outside on a very cold day and didn't see our server all that much after we ordered, but I understand the restaurant was quite packed (hence why we chose to sit outside). Halfway through our meal, I heard a different server offer her table blankets and wished we had been offered some by our server too. We will definitely return and try to sit inside, even if there's a wait.
The food share was huge and we loved the taste and texture! Highly recommend Spicy Chicken Sandwich (not that spicy). Pancake was good too. The coffee tastes awesome and reminded me of the Denmark brunch coffee. This is a popular place. Would recommend making a reservation ahead. Will visit back in future.

The crispy Brussel sprouts were amazing!!! Great popcorn chicken! Love the atmosphere. Sat outside on the sidewalk on a beautiful evening in Brooklyn.
Greenpoint staple next to McCarran Park offering big tastes with lively atmosphere and quality service.\n\nWhether it's brunch, dinner or just drinks, this corner spot is the place to be.

We stumbled upon this place having no clue of the hype. Outstanding inventive food fair prices and pleasant service. The crowd is a bit of a Bk parody but who cares. Go.
Small restaurant but delicious! I had the Moroccan scramble which was fabulous. Others had the Spicy Chicken sandwich, BLAT and Veggie burger all were very good. We didn't have to wait to be seated …
We went for dinner. Nice decor. Friendly staff. Good value. An overall very serviceable and dependable choice. Which doesn’t sound like a good review but actually is.
What a lovely little cafe/bar, typically Nee York vibe and the breakfast is great, very big though, I couldn’t finish all of mine!
This spot was perfect for grabbing drinks on a warm afternoon outside. The cutest outdoor tables, happy hour, natural wines, vintage fair in front, vibes, etc. Look forward to returning for FOOD!

Very good food! The cooked breakfast was a very generous portion, loved the hash browns and beans. Delicious and worth the wait in the queue.
We had brunch and the food was good. The veggie burger and BLAT sandwich were excellent . Pretty outside seating- great service
The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly. We got the pancake for our table (5 people) and it was more than enough plus our individual orders. Chicken blt wasn’t amazing but was good. Cappuccino was great
New review : how can a sandwich go up $6 in the span of 2 months. This was a great place to go : but it’s now on the same bandwagon as this whole area. A $20 sandwich was amazing : now $26 for what? This with a drink is now $40 with the min. tip. Sigh. ***past review : 2 months ago: The best FRENCH DIP. Ever but you have to get in before 3.
The food was decent, just enough to give a 4. But overall it was extremely slow service, and they did not handle the orders well. Forgetful and very delayed courses. I waited over 45 minutes for one course to the next. That definitely ruined the experience for me but I won’t go as far as to give 3 stars being that there was no rudeness or any attitude problems with the staff. Simply just slow and forgetful service. The burger was assembled in a way where the ingredients will slip out which you can’t even enjoy the experience, but flavor wise it was good. The best thing to me surprisingly was the chicken sandwich. Great flavor, texture, and not super messy to eat. The pancakes were mid I didn’t like the overly runny yet grainy texture. Not inedible or anything, I just expected a lot better flavor and texture from it. Overall the chicken sandwich itself and the quality of food just gets them to a 4 star for me. If it was out of 10 I’d give this spot a 7 really to be fair. But yea try it out yourself and maybe your experience will be better who knows.
Brunch Vibes Worth the Hype! Had brunch with my cousin and let me just say, every bit of the hype is so well deserved. We went on a weekday around 11am, so it wasn’t too busy, which made it even more enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the friendly staff. That energy sets the tone right away! I’d read about the Ricotta Pancakes and had to see what the fuss was about, they did not disappoint. We also had the Grain Bowl with a side of steak and halloumi, and every bite was packed with flavor and texture. I don’t drink alcohol, but I love a good mocktail. “Waters of Life” was a winner—especially if you’re into bold ginger and turmeric flavors like I am. Best part? You can treat yourself without breaking the bank. Trust me, this spot is a gem. I’ll definitely be back soon!
We ordered the egg sandwich, the big breakky plate, and a latte. The food tastes good—nothing mind-blowing, but definitely something I’d come back for. The egg sandwich has a rich, cheesy flavor, and the tomato sauce adds a great extra layer. I especially liked the sautéed mushrooms on the big breakfast—they have a unique herbal/spiced taste that stands out. The latte was just okay. Service overall was a bit slow, likely due to how busy it was, so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

The food at Five Leaves is excellent — always fresh and very tasty. I’ve been here multiple times and the kitchen never disappoints. Unfortunately, the service — specifically the host staff — is the one downside. Today (Sunday), as usual, the place was busy. I managed to get a seat at the bar, placed my order, and stepped away briefly to use the restroom. When I came back, my seat had already been given to someone else. What was even more frustrating is that there were empty tables available, but I was told they were “reserved,” so I couldn’t sit there either. In the end, my order was canceled. Great food, but situations like this really affect the overall experience.

The server/ host with long gray hair said we couldn’t sit at a table due to not having a reservation so we sat at the bar. We noticed that there were at least two open tables the entire time we were there. We waited a long time for menus and for someone to ask for our drink orders. I asked for a menu due to waiting so long time and was told by the same person as before that the bartender would handle us. The bartender didn’t show up for the first 30 mins were seated. When a different server finally took our order, she rushed us and asked if we wanted her to come back when we were ready to order but it was like a 30 second pause in ordering so not long at all. The space was very cramped and hard to feel comfortable in. People kept bumping into me while I was eating. The food was good although nothing super special and between the negative vibe from the servers and the tight space, the experience was very poor.
