Last night was our first time at Flora and we were so well guided by the waiter and waitress. The food was incredible. It was such a nice taste of Italy. They were so accommodating and kind. Great recommendations. We will be back :)
Weekday ~6:00; not crowded, good atmosphere and quiet. Tasting menu is good for light eaters and enjoyed immensely. Salads unique and refreshing, but be wary as pasta positions are small when off tasting menu. High quality and unique pasta dishes. Tasting menu for those who are hungry will require two orders. One order and a split salad perfect for light eaters.
I had dinner with a friend and it was a spectacular experience. everything was excellent, attentive service and a pleasant environment. we forgot our credit card and went back the next day for a coffee...excellent and the sfogliatella was also wonderful. Thank you
The best Italian food I had in my life. The owners are incredible and put their heart and soul in every dish. I had such a wonderful time and I’m already dreaming of my next visit to Brooklyn just to come back. I cannot recommend any more!
Absolutely loved Flora! 👩🍳🤌Everything’s fresh and feels authentically Southern Italian. They were able to accommodate vegan requests. The atmosphere was relaxed. I’ll definitely be back soon for the legendary fusilli di Felitto… who thought you could find it in Brooklyn?!
Feels like a slice of Italy in Park Slope. Interesting menu with great wine list that stands out from other Italian spots. Super fresh ingredients that don’t make you feel gross after eating. Owners actively run the spot so you know it’s good.
Great food and service. Truly authentic southern Italian food and fresh flavors. All the pastas were amazing. The pot roast was so flavorful and the eggplant parm was so delicious. Can’t go wrong with any pasta or entree.
We stumbled upon Flora while walking through Brooklyn and a friend that lives in the City warmly suggested to go as a Must. …OK, wow! This is not your average Italian-American restaurant , it’s the real thing, with flavours that speak of sun, sea, and old countryside kitchens. We shared the octopus and a handmade ravioli with ricotta and lemon zest that still makes us smile. Service was impeccable, and the wine list had some beautiful surprises. Grazie mille for a magical night!
I recently had a lovely brunch with a friend at Flora. The atmosphere is peaceful and calming, with a minimalist but comfortable vibe. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. And the food was delish! I had the ravioli and my friend had the burger. Both dishes were so good. And we had Nogronis. I had never tried one and I loved it. I highly recommend Flora.
MICHELIN ITALIAN RESTAURANT🍝 Excellent restaurant experience. This three block stretch of 8th Avenue is a unique stretch of quality Italian restaurants and Flora is a top Michelin choice in this group. The seating both indoor and outdoor is great. The food and pasta dishes are delicious. We enjoyed our dinner and if you come here do not pass up on the grilled octopus. Very pleasant experience and tip is included in your meal. Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Through some friends of ours we went to this restaurant last night , and I must say that I have never eaten so good in the 20 years that I have been in New York. The professional chef shes amazing. I saw cooking, she had such attention to the dishes that I was amazed . If you want to eat good food this is the only real place in New York where the food is truly Italian. The only thing I don't like is that I can only give 5 stars while they deserve at least 10.
I've felt like I was in a little cafe in Italy in Brooklyn. I was surprised by how delicious and simple the pasta was delicious. The pork golden brown delicious fry was cooked perfectly. That's how you do simple at its finest. The pistachio cake yum is one of those bites you couldn't stop eating it
I’m sitting here while typing this review because I don’t want to forget about this find. It’s intimate and inviting the food is warm and hearty. I’m dinning alone but it’s a space for seems like anyone I’ve seen families, friends, and dates all while dinning comfortably alone. If you’re nearby or even if you’re not come visit this delicious place. I had the gnocchi with black truffle and other things but most importantly black truffles 🤤 (I had and an appetizer meat and cheese board adjust for one and I’m looking at dessert but that gnocchi!!) UPDATE : I bit the dessert and the pear ricotta pie? 10 outta 10 it’s somehow soft, fluffy, and decadent. Even if you’re thinking “pear and ricotta?! That’s not my thing TRY IT. Trust me 🥰
The most authentic taste of Italy you can find in NYC. Everything on the menu is excellent and the owners are from Italy and really put there love and passion into their culinary art to bring you the best tastes of Italy they can offer. Always on my list of places to visit and menu changes seasonally. Best cup of cappuccino and espresso you can find!!!
This was a unique dining experience. The wine list is from a region in Italy where the owners are from with names I’m new to. We tried a bottle of Kata Del Monte Somma which the server said tasted like a Sauvignon Blanc. They had a tasting menu which gave us the opportunity to try four different dishes - Spaghetti A Vongole, Fussili, Baccala and Pulpo - our fav was the spaghetti pasta with clams. The rest were just ok. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake which was ok as well.
Great food, served with heart. I particularly liked the pasta with octopus ragu. The meat stew had great flavor, but the meat was a bit dry. The dessert was good, and while I appreciate that it's imported from Italy, I prefer something made fresh locally. Very fixed atmosphere, though there is no room between tables; the people next to us were literally listening to our conversation. The prices on the menu include tips, which I like, and it explained why they seemed a bit high.
Lovely restaurant, it has an upscale modern feel and the service is excellent. They have a great variety of spritzes that were delicious. The bruschetta was flavorful, the bread was thicker and softer than you would expect for bruschetta. The meats and cheese plate was good. The burrata was interesting, nice smoky flavor and well-cooked eggplant. The gnocchi was pillowy and truffle dominated the flavor. The linguine was perfect al dente and I loved the crispy chili but the broccoli rabe cream had a strong bitter flavor. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the ragu was very flavorful. The menu was unique and intriguing and it felt like an authentic experience.
This place looks and feels very high end. We loved the vibe and the service. The food was disappointing, sadly. The focaccia was dry and probably old. We left half of it behind. The pork entree was good but it came with no sides and thus did not feel like a complete meal. The ricotta ravioli was good, the dough a bit too “al dente”. Lemon dessert was the best thing of the meal, and it was only okay. Will probably won’t come back and instead fo to any of the other excellent italian places around
