Really good Singapore mei fun! Try it. It's pretty much all the meats + shrimp in curried angel hair noodles. I've been ordering from them for years.

Hunan delight is amazing—the best American Chinese style takeout I’ve had in NYC (and I eat a lot of it). The crispy honey chicken is a must get, the house lo mein is amazing.

Love their General Tso shrimp and a few other dishes. Quick delivery 90% of the time too. My go to Chinese food spot!

Really enjoyed this place. NYC transplant definitely haven't been pleased with the chinese food, but this place delivers. Low key, comfortable, great service and food. Wont break the bank either.

This place just never disappoints. The delivery is run in house so there's no fees and it's extremely fast. It's the best take out chinese in the area. Tried and tested.

This isn’t your typical Chinese take-out restaurant, its a real Chinese restaurant. They use high quality ingredients. So glad to have this place in the neighborhood.

Best Chinese food in Park Slope. This is in a totally different league from a typical Chinese take-out place. While the focus here is not on authenticity, everything tastes real — there’s no mystery meat, and all the vegetables are fresh. Great service and interior too.

The veggie buns were outstanding. Nice service and great food. Lots of vegetarian options. Black bean + bean curd was also exceptional. Very pleasant and charming restaurant!

I have quickly become a regular here and love. This. Spot. I’ve only done takeout because I’ve been going since the pandemic so I’ve never dined indoors but their lunch specials and dinner are always so fresh, never overly salty or oily, and they’re super speedy to boot! 10/10

General Tsos combo with pork fried rice was delicious. But I also want to give them props for a really considerate covid set up. Absolutely no contact, and passing everything through two barriers for my safety and theirs. I was really pleased.

Just visited today to celebrate a friend’s birthday and they went out of their way to make us all feel special and welcome. The food was SUPERB! And even better yet was the price! Always opt in for those $11 lunch specials that come with a soup :) I truly can’t wait to go back! Best Chinese food in park slope for sure!

Really great place. Delicious and for a good price! I tried the dumplings as well as the fried rice and everything was wonderful! I really really enjoyed the greeting that I received when I came in. The woman at the counter didn't make me feel rushed (as I have felt in other similar restaurants), and she was very hospitable. I have also heard that their wonton soup is worth a try because it's delicious. I'll make sure to give that a go next time!

This is hubby & my favorite Chinese restaurant, especially for their dumplings (shrimp & chicken). No usuals with our VDay order This time he had General Tso's Chicken, I had Basil Shrimp and we shared vegetable fried rice. Food is always great and filling. Our regular girls were not there but we noticed something odd. The usual A rating was now a B rating. We did inquire about it, but the reason given wasn't very clear. We just hope time is given for them to rebound back to an A rating.

This is my favorite Chinese food place of all time. When I lived in Astoria, I'd go to Brooklyn just for this place. Now that I live in Austin, I travel even farther to get here. Honey chicken is my favorite. A little sweet, not cloying, and not too greasy. I can't wait to be back.

Hunan delight is our go-to place. We have to restrain ourselves from not ordering it every night. The egg rolls are crispy and the best in town, the spicy chicken has just enough heat. Our other go-to’s are the chicken lo mien, Singapore mei-fun, beef and broccoli with brown sauce (SO GOOD), hot and sour soup… I could go on. I really don’t think you can go wrong with anything on this menu. The delivery is fast, always right, and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Can not recommend this place more.

Antonio Udjate

The best vegetarian sesame chicken I've tasted so far. They use marinated tofu (bean curd) that they fried and added sauce and sesame seeds; it was super yummy. I wish it was battered or floured like real sesame chicken, but it was still delicious.

Love this place. So much that we had the dinner for out of town guests here 11 years ago the night before our wedding and they were very accommodating. Lots of veggie options and options for meat-lovers too. Ordered a feast today- still delicious.

I work nearby so I come here often for lunch. Their lunch special is so incredible where you get your entree, rice, and either a soda or soup. The service is quick and the food is very good and very filling. I always look forward to my Thursday lunch here!

Used to go here all the time when my boyfriend lived nearby. Since he left the neighborhood don't go as often but we went Saturday night and OH MY GOD it is still so good! Veggie dumplings, scallion pancake, lo mein, spinach with garlic - all amazing. They had vegetarian wonton (might even have been vegan) which is such a treat for me to get! They accommodated my dad's super-particular diet (ginger and soy sauce only but yet he doesn't want to order off the steamed menu LOL??). The waitresses were unbelievably sweet and made it such a fun night for us.

Best American Chinese restaurant in the area and it’s not even close. Might even be the best in Brooklyn. Food is so good, great prices and portions and always fresh. I’ve tried a few different staples on the menu and it’s all been good. Delivery is timely. My go-to for sure.

Stopped here after a friend's recommendation. We had just enough time to eat, then get to our flight. This place was superb. I got the fried pork dumplings to start, and they were phenomenal. I kept it safe, so I got the sesame chicken & fried rice. It was really good though. Service was good, but we were the only ones in the restaurant. If you need a solid Chinese place in Park Slope, definitely add this place on your list.

In a full restaurant I felt like we were the only table. Food came out fast, absolutely delicious, and with impeccable service. This entire restaurant works like a little well-oiled machine; everyone kept coming back to our table of 6 to see if we needed anything (and this group loves asking for a million things at different times). This bougie little Long Island group is happily impressed and hungry for more. Love it.

Best Chinese food I've found in Park Slope. The sweet and sour chicken is awesome! Edit: A year or so later and it’s still the very best Chinese food I’ve found — in Park Slope, in Brooklyn and in NYC in general. The won ton soup is top notch. The egg rolls are perfect. The steamed chicken dumplings rock. Many of the chicken dishes that aren’t breaded can be ordered steamed with sauce on the side making them much healthier than the traditional wok and oil preparation. And the people are nice too. I’m there about once a week and they always know my order!

This is a Chinese restaurant that services good food of the better taste. The service is good and the waitresses are friendly. I do recommend a visit.

A

The food here is clearly American Chinese, but it is phenomenal at that. The hosts are really nice, but the servers can be hit our miss. There's a nice seating on a raised platform just off the sidewalk which is fun if you like watching people scramble around with their groceries and little humans.

E
Emma Olson-Rossow

Really solid food and good portions (easily 2 portions per main dish). It’s more expensive than the menu on their website by at least $2-3, so be aware. We went at dinner time and it was not crowded, the service was good and fast. Had the scallion pancake and vegetarian meat sesame chicken - flavors were all excellent! And I had enough to take a solid portion home. Will be returning!

Ok place! 😑 The food was as expected with a Pork Chow Mein that tasted funny! Other than that the Fried Rice was great.

K
Karen H

The good: The fried rice, it's the closest I've found to the taste I'm looking for. The bad: A tad on the expensive side, wasn't impressed by the shrimp and broccoli. Additionally I purchased another entree, and was told only 1 white rice between the 2 entrees. What?? And it's additional money for a large. I've eaten at various Chinese restaurants practically my whole life, and that was a first! I guess next time I have to place separate orders to get a rice with each dish..

S
Sasha Redlener

Consistently solid Americanized Chinese. Delivery is really fast. Recommend the noodle soups, dumplings, and pork buns. Great vegetarian selection and steamed dishes (if you want to be on the healthier side).

This is a place that my family and I used to attend for many years. Easy to get to, and in a great location in Park Slope. However, many things have changed about this Chinese restaurant, but not for the better. Upon entering the restaurant, it is hard not to notice a SWARM of flies, flying around the main entrance of the restaurant. This is something that is definitely not hard to notice. Even within the restaurant itself, there are small flies flying around, from table to table. The service people were adequately polite. However, the same could not be said for our male waiter. What was appalling to me, was that my daughter noticed a dead bug on the plate of her chicken and broccoli meal. She took pictures of her plate as well as I did. Thus showing the waiter, who did not seem apologetic, but annoyed that we even showed him! He mentioned something in Chinese to the women in the Customer service area. The check came, and I was charged for half the meal, which leads me to ponder? What is it that I missed on MY plate, and what is going on in the kitchen that we, the customers, cannot see? Upon leaving the restaurant, we showed the picture to the Customer service reps, who then apologized for the unsanitary meal that my daughter partially digested. To make amends to what just took place, our lunch was now free of charge. An A grade was posted outside the restaurant's window. Which leads me to question, have the standards for an A grade declined?

C
Charlie Shay

Your average American Chinese take-out food, albeit lacking in consistency you'd find in some. Food sometimes is over seasoned (salty), while other times the rice feel either overcooked or have been left out for too long (dry). It can be a delight when the the food is cooked just right, but that's unfortunately not a common occurrence.

F
FdT

The food here is fine. It is not the best Chinese food you'll get, but it simply decent. It is, however, a bit overpriced for the quality you get. I have had far better shrimp and broccolis at much cheaper restaurants. If you don't have another option, then go to this place, because you at least will get some decent food. But, if you can go anywhere else, I strongly recommend you do so.

A
Alexis Marcelo

I used to eat here all the time when I lived in Brooklyn and it was my favorite Chinese food in all of NYC. Took my family last night and I was so disappointed. The food just wasn't as good as I remember. No basil in the house fried rice, No ginger flavor in the chicken wings, just salty, fishy smelling scallops I was so disappointed. I hope they can return to form because it used to be so good!

A
Alex Jackfruit

I've only ordered take out from this place. I've done it a few times and have always been disappointed for this price range ($20 per person). However this is the only decent Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Can't speak for the dine in experience.

A
A Z

Yes, it was expensive, but we knew that going in. Our issue was that the food overall was too salty. From the Egg Roll to the Shanghai Shrimp to the Sesame Chicken - the predominant flavor was salt. Service was friendly and (maybe too) efficient.

mary dobrowsky
mary dobrowsky

The food had lovely and fresh ingredients but the food was tremendously over salted. We tried to explain this to the waitress and she insisted that customers need to request less sauce. The place should be busier but people at other tables commented about the excess salt also. It really is too bad as it is a sweet place with nice service providers.

Isabelle J
Isabelle J

Food was overall average good. I ordered the homestyle tofu but they gave me the mapo tofu. It was tasty, but the sauce did taste exactly like a certain sauce I bought in a jar, so not sure if they made the sauce from scratch or just used these premade sauces. The vegetarian dumplings were ok as well—-the skin was quite thick (more like a momo)

James H
James H

Most items are decent quality. Fried chicken dishes are consistently disappointing with dry and gristly meat. Every six months, I give them another chance with these dishes, and every six months I’m home with an inedible dish.

J
Jeffrey Savitch

I always order the combination dish which is good but there egg rolls are the worst in town , always soft and greasy.. never ever have they been crispy !! Plus the the most expensive in park slope. I think I’m done!

M
Michael Bednark

Update: new ownership and the food has taken a turn for the worse unfortunately. After eating hear for 17 years it was such a let down to notice the decline in the food quality. The best chinese take-out in park slope. Bar none! You have to call to order and they have a wide delivery range. And have delivered to every place I have moved to. Over 15 years. The go to’s: Hot and Sour Soup Moo shoo Chicken Sesame chicken Steamed Broccoli Egg rolls All the hits!

s
steve justice

I ordered sesame chicken, fried rice and an egg roll. The staff was friendly enough. I arrived for dinner at around 8:00 on a Saturday and the place was almost empty. The sesame chicken had a bitter flavor and was not very sweet. Half of the chicken was way over cooked and barely edible. The fried rice was fairly good and the egg roll was average. It was WAY over priced, 27.00 for just a little more food than you get at most other Chinese places for 10.00. They even charged 2.00 for a few pieces of broccoli, every Chinese place I ever eaten at included that in the sesame chicken. I would not recommend this place.

S
Shirley Paillant

Ordered a large meal for the family and was expecting to enjoy the entire meal based on the reviews...... unfortunately, I did not experience the rave.... the chicken wings tasted spoiled- unable to digest/ consume it. The shrimp dumplings were salty and instead of the shrimp egg rolls, we were given pork egg rolls. smh.... the shrimp fried rice was just OK. ugh.....

Been going here on and off for over 15 years. But the service is so horrible I will never return. I called ahead to make a reservation even gave the order ahead of time and they treated us so poorly. Waited 1 hour for the appetizer, no one apologized , no one came to take our drink order until I asked three times, They tried to give use paper plates , even though everyone else had regular plates, Never checked on us once during service. Rude, and honestly they just don’t care to try because I have seen them be nice to some people but rarely. Food is fine . Won’t go back again.

We have ordered from and visited Hunan Delight for literally decades. Over the past couple if years, the quality of food has declined dramatically. What used to be a little bit of an elevated neighborhood Chinese restaurant has become something closer to your typical NY streetcorner Chinese take out joint. My General Tsos tofu used to be slick with thick sauce and full of broccoli. Now it's barely covered with a thin sauce, has little flavor, and I got ONE, just one, piece of broccoli in the entire dish. Scallion pancakes used to be crisp and hot, now they're soggy and limp. Consistently mediocre. I guess a place can't keep it up for 20 years.

C
CK EL

This has been my go to favorite establishment for years until today. Why is there broken eggshell in my food when there isn’t any egg in my dish??

T
Terrance Beckett

If you starving, then this place will satisfy you. Not authentic Hunan food but the roasted duck is worth ordering.

K
Keith Schneider

Drove 30 minutes had a look for a spot all the find out that there’s no dining only takeout and delivery they should really update the webpage where it says dining delivery and takeout very disappointed

M
Michael Tracey

Had the worst food I’ve ever had in my life tonight from here. I’m not exaggerating. Honestly, I thought a friend had replaced the tofu I ordered with some kind of fried sponge. It was “contact the authorities” level of bad. I’m the cheapest human being on earth and refused to continue eating after three bites. Made pb and j (was pretty good btw).

J
Jason Twist

Be very careful when ordering from this establishment, especially if you have food allergies. Their menu doesn't list ingredients that may/will cause someone to become sick. Call ahead and ask before ordering.

D
Dan Litwack

This place is trash. Do not eat here there is better Chinese food just about anywhere else. If you are looking for halfway decent Chinese food go to Szechuan Delight on 7th Ave. This place was bad the food was bad, the flavor was bad and it was way overpriced for such bad food. If you are willing to take a small trip I suggest that you get real Chinese food in Sunset Park where you cannot go wrong. But Hunan Delight is definitely not where you should be spending you hard-earned money.

K
Kimar7779

If I good give them zero starts I would. The person who took my order hung up before I could finish speak and never told me my total. I was ordering from their website menu and if course the prices were out of date and no one is responsible to taking their ridiculous and poorly designed website down. So when they deliver what I thought was a $10 meal that ended up being a $17 meal I was a little upset. I called back to explain and of course instead of claiming responsibility for the mix up and allowing me to pay the price I thought, the person on the phone tells me next time I should ask for the price before getting delivery and the delivery person is yelling at me the same thing. These people are greedy, lazy and could give a care about customer service. Terrible.

A
Ayinde Samuel

Food is disgusting. I’m actually appalled they had the audacity to serve me this food. The chicken was undercooked (literally pink and red) and tasted rancid. The rice tasted like it was a year old don’t eat here

S
Sirena M.

Been ordering from this place for awhile now. First time today I experienced horrible customer service. Alot of times when i have ordered I have ordered pretty much the same meal. Many times I have received it not how I had asked. But normally when I have called about it I never have a problem with them at all until today. I called on behalf my order being wrong and the women was very rude barely allowed me to speak & hung up. Called a 2nd time and a man answered and was just as rude as the women i previously had spoken to. Mind you I never had a problem because they always worked something out for me though it was their mistake. Today was different... I explained to him what happened about my order being wrong. That I didnt ask for spices in my food & he says to me “we cant read your mind...” They were just completely rude and honestly a turn off.

A
Antony Lin

I have dined here and ordered takeout from here. The food is overpriced but I like to do my part in supporting local business. My to-go order from last time will not lead me back here again. The customer service isn't doing this place any favors. Ordering to-go, my friend and I walked to the Old Stone House, looking to eat on one of the picnic tables. As we were ready to eat, it turns out they forgot utensils. We were frustrated, but hey, innocent mistake. We walked back to Hunan Delight to ask for utensils. We were told that they don't offer utensils and pretty much made it seem like it was our fault for not telling them. Getting in touch with the restaurant's social media, we were told they were not offering utensils because they were going "green." This is an obvious lie in trying to be cheap. If they were going green, why would they pack everything in plastic containers? Why were they packed in plastic bags? This made no sense. This is the only restaurant in Park Slope where I have experienced this. I will be visiting other Chinese restaurants that are better and not overpriced.

J
Julia Zaychenko

I ordered takeout from here recently for the first time and it was pretty terrible. The vegetable rolls were stuffed but greasy and flavorless, except for the taste of fried oil. The duck sauce you provide is of the worst quality, the kind that's more pink than orange. The wonton soup was the most passable part of my order. The "sesame beef" was nauseating and in the end inedible. Please read this, you folks at the restaurant, and do better, for I'd like to visit you again but I'm sorely disappointed.

M
Mason Eli

This was one of the worst experiences. The food was awful and service was alright when handling the situation. I ordered the Seasme Chicken tasted strange and is extremely overpriced and over rated. I also ordered the pineapple ginger chicken, which came delicious the first time, however it was not made correctly. When I called, they gave me a difficult time and I had to continue to explain what was wrong with my dish. They gave me a replacement however it was awful, no flavor whatsoever. It was an unpleasant experience and I will never be ordering from here again.

I ordered twined sautéed pork expecting what it is supposed to be. Well they see you and judge you. Brought me a completely different thing. Of course I complained and instead of giving the reason they said it was their American-Chinese style. Bullshit. They made it so uncomfortable. If you want real Chinese food and good service DONT GO !

Food is terrible. Everything came soggy and it’s close by me. The delivery person is even worse than food itself and they do deliver their own food.

Ordered delivery for the first time for our Admin Meeting lunch (4 staff members). EVERY DISH was tasted and trashed. General Tao (2), Beef and Broccoli, Veggie lo mein, and the soups with the lunch specials all tasted terrible. Salty, the sauces had that jelly texture, and the rice tasted so old
