it’s true, joe’s is the best slice. idk if i can say in all of manhattan but certainly anywhere downtown/westside/ in that area and all neighborhoods surrounding it. if you want a full pie, john’s is the winner, but joe’s is absolutely the next best option for slices. if i’m having a bad day, i go get a plain slice from joe’s… it’s delicious. also, the guys that work there are the best & i love how they’ve been working there for as long as i can remember (most of them at least). if this location ever closes I will leave the city in opposition haha avoid a line by avoiding fridays and saturdays at prime times - regardless, they’re quick & if there’s a line, it moves fast.
I tried Joe's in Ann Arbor, MI when they opened here this year. That was my first time trying it and I fell in love! Wo naturally, I had to try them when we were in Brooklyn. We for 2 slices of classic cheese, and it was just as good! Not greasy, nice and thin, and perfect. That tomato sauce is seriously like no other. Great place for pizza!
I went there with my family when they just opened and the guys in there were welcoming and great. The pizza was delicious and I want more.
Very solid pizza, there may be better options in NYC but if you want a reliable slice which will always taste good look no more. Granted it has become a lot more touristy in the last few years but that doesn't mean the quality has dropped by any means (maybe the price has gone up) and I would recommend it as a NYC staple that you can't miss on your trip there. The fresh mozzarella always hits the spot.
Nothing hits like a slice of Joe’s. What’s most amazing is that every location I’ve been to tastes the same and they all hit the spot. This place is chaotic. It’s a pizza JOINT not a restaurant. So be prepared to rub elbows. But your belly will thank you for the mildly sweet and perfectly cheeses slices.
Brooklyn's Bedford Joe's Pizza is a true gem, offering an authentic slice of New York City both literally and figuratively. This bustling corner shop, though small and always buzzing with activity, manages to deliver some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. The highlight of their menu for me was undoubtedly the pepperoni and cheese pizzas. The crust on each slice was perfectly crisp, the sauce was flavorful yet not overpowering, and the cheese - oh, the cheese! - was melted to gooey perfection. But it's not just the food that makes Joe's Pizza special. This place has a unique charm, highlighted by the walls adorned with photos of Hollywood stars enjoying their pizza. It's like stepping into a little piece of history, a testament to the quality and fame of their offerings. Each photo tells a story, adding to the vibrant, almost electric atmosphere of the shop.Joe's Pizza is the epitome of what a classic New York pizzeria should be - fast-paced, unpretentious, and serving up slices that are consistently delicious. Whether you're a local or just passing through, stopping at Joe's is a must for anyone seeking a quintessential NYC pizza experience. The combination of great food and the shop's brush with stardom creates a dining experience that's both memorable and satisfying.
They're open late and down the street of the music hall - exactly what I needed after the concert. I'd do it again. Maybe not the hero that you wanted but it's the hero you deserve
One of the best slices in New York. Amazing pizza
Joe’s Pizza is an underrated spot for a good comforting slice. Gooey cheese, with some meaty pepperoni and a nice thin crust. You really can do nooooo wrong with this $4.50 slice! My first time visiting and there were so many slices to try out. Ultimately I wanted a good classic! Really friendly service!
Joe's Pizza is located right in the heart of Williamsburg on Bedford Avenue. The pizza was fresh, tasty and I liked that the dough was not soft or too thick! Definitely coming back. It is a short walk from the L train station. When I visited, indoor dinning was closed, but they have a lot of outdoor seating. Great service and even offer closed packs of garlic, oregano and red pepper to go.
Incredible. The slices were absolutely perfect. There’s New York pizza and then there’s New York perfection pizza. It was a late night stop so the room was full but the line moved at a completely reasonable pace. Staff dealt with the late night drunks just fine and kept things orderly. The quality of the slices was fantastic. It was a lot of fun to have a spot that was completely no frills be so focused on the pizza. Normally you’d want to look around and see what’s happening around you but we simply sat and consumed the pizza with joy. Laser focused on the taste over anything else. This is a must stop for late night bites. Happily recommend this spot
Had my first New York Slice Pizza at Joe's and turned into an instant fan! The cheese slice with mozarrela and fresh tomato sauce was the stuff that melts into your mouth leaving you wanting more. There were so many incredible options on the menu. The best part was watching the pizzas getting made right in front of you. The staff was super nice and the pizza was a testament of just how amazing this place was! Loved it ♥️
What a great slice of Pepperoni pizza 🍕. I know this brand is very popular in New York and there are always lines. Now I understand why. The pizza tasted amazing. It was warm because it was served just out of the ovens. Staff were super nice and friendly!!! This is the first time we tried pizza at this shop in Brooklyn. We had fantastic experience!!!! You gonna have to try it out you ever visiting New York City.
This was my first time trying Joe’s Pizza. Even though I had very high expectations, I was very happy with the experience! The pizza is so delicious and fresh. I love the thin crust and the line went really quickly. We were starving when we got to the line but it was totally worth the 15 min wait. I think this place is a safe choice for those craving pizza in the nyc area.
You will never be disappointed by Joe’s. The crust is literal perfection. I hadn’t eaten joes in a little while and went into it thinking i would realize it’s over hyped but wowza. I was humbled. The crust is amazing the sauce is the perfect amount and not overwhelming in flavor and the cheese is the perfect ratio slash portion too. It’s just all around a balanced piece of pizza and it’s fresh and I will die on this hill.
This is hands down the greatest late night pizza shop. It's so amazing that it's just as amazing as the hole in the wall spot in the heart of Vegas. Fast and Fresh and you will definitely leave unbelievable satisfied
Everyone likes their pizza a certain way and Joe’s is just perfect for me. Thin crust, but sturdy. Not too light on the cheese, but not too much. Toppings were just perfect and not overloaded. I only had the opportunity to try one pizza place on our trip, but I have to say I made the perfect choice. Joe’s did not disappoint. Three pizzas cost us about $15 and we were full till dinner. Service was fast, even though there were lots waiting for their order. There’s only standing room to eat but really. you don’t need to sit. Can prob just eat on the go, but we got lucky and found a small space for two. Would def recommend this place.
First time! Googled best pizza around me and Joes came up! I’ve passed it several times this month as I am new to the area. There are several around here and you never really know until you try. NY is flagged for the best pizza but so is CT and that’s where I grew up. I had on my critical taste testing face when I went to get my slice. You have to walk in to get a slice. The option was not available online or through DoorDash for me. It’s a 4min walk so it wasn’t so bad. The restaurant is small and is suited for grab and go. Not much space for family dining. The staff is attentive but not cordial. Comes along with the grab and go atmosphere I suppose unless you’re a regular?? Idk 🤷🏽♀️ I prefer more hospitable welcoming but its NY… The pizza was definitely the right amount of thin and the right amount of sauce and cheese and the perfect amount of crunch even after I reheated a slice later so I give them 5 stars on the taste and presentation. They should work on making customers feel welcome and happy to return.
If your in Williamsburg neighborhood amd you want to taste a really good slice of pizza on the go and at a good price, Joe's is the right election! Traditional since 1975 it don't disappoint, I tried mozzarella and pepperoni and both of them were really good. The have algo on the restaurant a little "Wall of fame" with all the stars who had visited them along the years. So, you should try it.
Service was excellent, feeling at home and welcome and not rushed. The atmosphere was perfect with a group in the corner with a man yelling “I need a pie to my self” because of how good the pizza is. He repeated this about 6 or 7 times, each time more serious. The pizza? Fresh, hot; perfect crust and perfect ratio. I think this has been the best midnight snack in my lifetime. Applause.
Joe’s Pizza is hands down one of the best places to grab a classic New York slice. The moment you walk in, you can smell the fresh pizza coming out of the oven, and it immediately feels like a true NYC experience. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy with just the right amount of chew, the sauce is flavorful without being too heavy, and the cheese is always melted perfectly. Every slice tastes fresh and balanced, which is exactly what you want from a classic New York pizza. What I love most is how consistent it is—no matter when you go, the quality is always great. The service is fast, the staff keeps things moving, and you can grab a slice and be enjoying it within minutes. It’s simple, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Whether you’re a local or visiting New York for the first time, Joe’s Pizza is a must-try spot for a true NYC slice. 🍕
This restaurant truly delivered a five-star experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, full of flavor, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Everything came together perfectly, making it a place I’d happily recommend and return to without hesitation.
This location is less crowded in comparison to the locations in Manhattan. Not much seating inside but there is a bench outside to sit and eat pizza on. The pizza is fresh every time. Love!
A perfect slice of NY pizza. Crispy crust on the bottom, the kind that breaks when you fold it. The sauce is delicious. This is exactly what you want in a NY slice. Jars of Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, spices, etc are all there at the counter where you can stand and eat. They have a few tables outside as well. Absolutely perfect.
In my 2025 Summer Pizza Top 5, Joe's Pizza in Williamsburg ranks fourth. The slices are delicious. The crust is crispy, and the tomato sauce has a wonderful spicy flavor. The mozzarella could be a bit less, which would also reduce the layer of fat on the pizza. The later the evening, the busier the place gets. The perfect post-club pizza. The waiting line is a bit shorter than at the original location in the West Village. Perfect location at the Bedford Subway Station right next to the Muhammad Ali Mural.
After trying countless pizzerias across New York, I think we can all agree that Joe’s stands out as an instant classic. The balance of quality, price, and taste is hard to beat—it truly delivers on all fronts. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or stopping by after a late night out in the neighborhood, Joe’s never disappoints. There’s something about its simplicity and consistency that makes it feel a bit like home. No gimmicks, no overcomplication—just authentic New York pizza done right.
I recently stopped by Joe’s Pizza and had an incredible experience. I ordered a white slice and a pepperoni slice—both were absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly crisp, the cheese was rich and flavorful, and the pepperoni had just the right amount of spice. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. It’s the kind of place that leaves you wanting more after every bite. If you’re a pizza lover, Joe’s is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back—and recommending it to others!
I was pretty skeptical about American-style pizza. I thought it would be greasy, the dough would be bland, and I wouldn’t even finish half a slice. But oh my god, I was so wrong! I’ve tried a lot of pizza in different countries, and this one is honestly one of the best. I’m not sure if it varies across different locations of this chain, but this particular spot in Brooklyn was absolutely delicious. Plus, the staff was super sweet. I’ll definitely be coming back!
We stopped by Joe’s Pizza just as they opened at 10:30 AM, and it did not disappoint! The pizzas came out in about 10 minutes, fresh and super delicious. I tried the cheese, pepperoni, and supreme, and while they were all great, the supreme was my personal favorite. Perfect spot for a quick, tasty pizza fix—definitely worth a visit!
Wow! I see why they there’s always a line at this pizzeria. Their pizza is DIVINE 👏🏼 🍕 What a great slice 🤤 !!! The crust is thin and has a good tinsel. The sauce is what really makes the slice! It matches the cheese blend in a heavenly way. A little sweet but full tomato flavor. One of the best spices I’ve had especially for a NY slice. It’s the one you’ve been looking for and reading about. Get an extra slice too because you’ll want another just to keep reliving the flavors. The meat lovers was good too but the plain cheese will actually rock your socks ! Come check out this great pizzeria. They also donate proceeds from the merchandise to charity, which is great! Staff was friendly enough, more quick and efficient then making lasting impressions but that’s fine; this place moves like a well oiled machine including the customers rotating in and out! Great pizza restaurant 🍕 check them out!

Great pizza!! The staff was quick and helpful! I would definitely come again! There was a line but it moved quickly even with a guest being difficult.
I have to admit, Joe has a solid slice.\n\nStaffing is always friendly. Small place that gets very crowded, but worth waiting a few minutes to grab a slice and go.\n\nHonestly, it's worth the hype.
Fast service really good and tasty slices. The staff very friendly good ambiance. First time here and liked it

Late night happing, great slice always fresh, hot! People are always hanging out. And the celebrity photos are classic.

Wow! What amazing pizza with great choices! Luckily there wasn’t a queue at the time we went as the one in Manhattan had a very large queue! Would definitely recommend
Joe's Pizza is just an ordinary pizza for $4, so don't expect anything special for that price. However, the atmosphere is quite nice. I gave it 3 stars because the pizza was a bit burnt, and this is the second time I've experienced this. Nevertheless, it's still edible. The place is well-known, and if you bring a tourist and say that celebrities eat here, it would be okay.
Properly a classic NY slice with no frills. Good fundamentals, friendly staff and a pleasant, casual atmosphere.
ordinary pizza, I don't know why it is so praised, very little space, no toilet and no place to wash your hands and this is a big minus. otherwise ordinary pizza, nothing special. very dirty in Nutri and outside, like in many New York establishments, in Nutri there are photos with celebrities from different points of their store. honestly I don't know where such popularity among the stars comes from. but it seems to me that it is not worthy of attention more than other pizzas
I must say that I was not impressed at all. The pizza is pretty ok, not outstanding but not bad. The place sure is legendary, a bunch of photos from famous people and money bills from all over the world are posted on the wall, probably when you go it will be full of people, but overall, I thought it overrated. In my country, Brazil, specially in my home town, São Paulo, we have tons of pizzas that are way better than Joe's.
Preliminary: Those comparing this to an Italian pizza—- just don’t. Italian pizzas are the best, ofcourse. NY pizza is its own style. Basically; don’t expect to get an Italian pizza in NYC- expect to get an NY styled pizza. I’m used to southern Italian styled pizzas at this point myself, but The first time I Came here I was pleasantly surprised. The flavors popped and it was very filling. I found myself craving it again in the coming days. Second time I came back the underside of the crust tasted burnt which kind of ruined my experience, but whatever I managed to get that first day was so decadently good that I’ll just give it a 4 star for now and try to remain optimistic ;)
Iconic pizza place. Loved that it’s not expensive. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pizza was very fresh. Oh you know it’s fresh since it’s always crowded and they constantly baking. Everything almost always sold out and have to wait for new slices to come out. Definitely try it or great for a bite in budget. Just know the store is small. Not much seatings. But love to be able to people watching while enjoying my pizza.
Got a Sicilian slice and enjoyed it. The crust was the main attraction. Recommend getting whatever just came out of oven. They had to heat up the slice I got perhaps because it had been sitting for a while. Still I recommend going there if you have a craving for a good slice (or two) of pizza.
Real New York experience! (Minus the shooting). From our pizza review tour, this is up there. They do need to work on the crust a tad and on the waiting time!! It’s New York baby the city that never sleeps how’s your oven sleeping and making us wait 10 minutes for a slice!! Regardless the taste made up for it. We made a big mistake of forgetting the bevvy. Neva Neva Neva again you need a bevy with it. Hey wanna get Joe’s? Who’s Joe…
Joe’s Pizza is one of the most famous and signature pizza stands in NYC. It’s definitely a must visit spot for tourist. The decor is outmoded and simple. The staff was friendly and served everything with passion. The pizza dough was chewy but thin so it wasn’t too heavy. The balance between flavorful ingredients was good but too salty for me. I am not a fan of pizza with thin crust but ,to be honest, their pizza was decent.
Such a humble slice. Had the cheese and pepperoni. The cheese was great, sauce was amazing, dough was crispy but fluffy (the perfect NY pizza cook) and the cheese provided a little more bite. Pepperoni was better imo. The roni added a bit more saltiness and savoury complexity that complements the cheese
Joe’s pizza always has insanely long lines in midtown, so when I walked past this location and noticed it wasn’t as busy, I had to get a slice. I was slightly underwhelmed due to all the hype this place has, but it’s definitely a good, classic, nyc pizza. The flavor of the tomato sauce was stronger than the cheese, which made the slice taste a bit more unique.
Walking in New York and seeing the most insane lineup for a pizza store will have any tourists intrigued to check it out. I lined up with a friend because he wanted to check it out. Although I didn’t purchase anything, he said it was the best pizza he had while staying in New York. Cool photos of celebrities eating at the location dons the walls.
If you visit New York, this pizza is definitely the one you want to try! Pizza since 1975, and this pizza is tasty, crispy, and classic from New York. the price is so affordable:). This place is also used for Spider-Man where Peter Parker was working! I wanna try all of their pizza. Yes, I will come back!

We go often. Really nice to grab a late night bite with cash money after being out. Open late. Cash only. Basic pizza slice take out place setup. It was also featured in Spiderman movie.

Usually Joe's reheats slices in the oven, even at other locations like Boston. This time they didn't, so I thought it was fresh from the oven, but it wasn't warm. Eating outside in the cold weather made the lukewarm pizza disappointing. Off day for the staff, or time for me to take a break from Joe's?
I mean it’s pretty basic it’s just a pizza, but it’s not that special. The taste wasn’t incredible.
Coming from Chicago, I had pretty high standards for Joe's. I'd have to say it was like a 7/10 though, nothing too special and honestly a bit overpriced for a slice.
There is no doubt this place is iconic which can be confirmed by the photos with celebrities like Jimmy Fallon. If you want to have this checkbox, then this is the place. In terms of the taste though, I did not find anything appealing in the regular default pizza slice - it almost exclusively tasted like dough and there was not flavour from the baked cheese I’d expect to get from such plain pizza. The pizza was also warmed up instead of being freshly made. I’d recommend other places to try New York style pizza unless you are obsessed with the vibes or the history this pizza restaurant chain offers
Some of the most unappealing pizza ive ever eaten. We ordered the plain red sauce pizza and the vegetarian pizza. The plain red sauce pizza with cheese was like eating cardboard/leather with a suprisingly sweet sauce and thin wide bits of cheese that covered a decent portion of the sauced area but was ludicrously thin. Overall one of the most unappetizing pizzas ive eaten - worse than many franchised chains which i usually dislike. The vegetarian pizza did not have a crust like cardboard but was akin to frozen or generic vege pizza....nothing to write home about. Pros: the serivce is decent and the workers are friendly. The parlour definitely gives the vibe of a local institution. Overall Im genuinely surpised by how popular this place is but could not recommed it to anyone.
Don’t know if I’ve spent too much time in Italy, but thought this was pretty mid. Really quick service and was nice to enjoy in the sun on the benches outside. Size of the slice was pretty good too, we shared one between two. Crust was really dry, could’ve done with some garlic sauce or something to get through it.

the service is quick but the pizza is always burned i thought it was because they had to warm it up so I ordered a pie and the pizza was totally burned no one wanted to eat it so had to throw it out what a waste of money and appetite
I went to the time square location! Great food and service and they were PACKED! This location was empty we were the only ones in the store getting pizza. They messed up our slices and they got mad for us going back and getting the right slices (we still paid for the new ones) they were rude, slamming everything, basically threw the pizzas at us on top the counter. Would you recommend this location
Pizza has no flavor. Its flavorless! I ordered a slice of pepperoni and a slice of white/ricotta. The pepperoni did not have a hint of spiciness and it was blah! The crust was bland add more salt into the dough. Everyone is on their cell phone behind the counter not engaged, they don't care. Why would I want people touching their phone and then making pizza?? This location sucks. Maybe the other locations hit different, but this pizza no good. This Joes's pizza location is near CVS, near 129 Fulton, its on the corner. Caveat emptor!

What people say about Joe's Pizza
Joe's Pizza: The Quintessential Brooklyn Slice Experience
When that craving hits for a proper New York slice, the kind that makes you remember why this city is famous for its pizza, my mind immediately goes to Joe's Pizza in Brooklyn. This isn't just a pizza joint; it's a local institution, consistently delivering that classic taste that keeps people coming back, often after years away, only to find it's even better than they remembered.Let's talk about the pizza itself. You can grab a regular slice for a mere four bucks, and honestly, it's nothing...
Brooklyn's Joe's: Where Every Slice is a Midnight Revelation
Alright, let’s talk pizza. In Brooklyn, that’s practically a religion, and everyone’s got their sanctuary. For some, it’s a fiercely guarded secret spot; for others, it's a debate that rages on over cold beers. But amidst all the contenders, there’s a place that consistently earns its stripes: Joe's Pizza. It’s the kind of spot that even if you're a devout follower of another institution, like Luigi's off Dekalb, you'll find yourself giving a nod of approval to Joe's. What makes Joe’s stand o
