Delicious food. Amazing croissants. Everything fresh and good. The coffee was also delicious. That very nice and helpful. Can’t wait to go back and try some other items.
Chocolate mousse cake, sourdough bread and baguettes are phenomenal. The bakery is a bit too dark for me, needs better lighting- I like light and bright bakeries. But overall a nice bakery with lots of variety.
A shop with French and European products but also a French deli in the back. Sandwiches, mini & full-size quiches, pastries, and macaroons. Very yummy surprise! No seats inside but 2 benches outside.
Best Chocolates Croissants ever. Try once then you need every morning :) Staff super helpful and friendly!
I always get the spinach egg and cheese on a toasted croissant; it’s always moist, and delicious. Cappuccinos are created deliciously and with care as well. Their chocolate products are very good too as are many pastries.
Their pastries are soooo good. Best turnovers I’ve had. Always fresh and not overly sweet. The blueberry one is my favorite. A must try if you have the chance.
9/01/24: Based on this bakery alone I can safely say that the French do everything right: the food may look simple, but there’s elegance in that simplicity. It’s called restraint, knowing how many ingredients to use and not one more. Tonight I took home two sandwiches on baguette: fig and brie and Saucisson Sec, cornichons with butter. they were not huge, they were not packed with ingredients, they had exactly what I mentioned in their description- and that was just right. That is what makes this place worth many a visit. The bakers know exactly how to apply that elegant touch to everything that they do. Be sure to try this vastly underrated spot, or you will surely regret it. FIRST REVIEW: drop in for the croissants and find yourself unexpectedly in some Parisian grocery. the croissants are buttery, flaky, deliciousness; do try the ham, fig and brie! my kid loves the pain au chocolat. also a great place to get rose water and goat soap at reasonable prices. totally unexpected, it’s a gem 💎 of a spot. UPDATE: inspired by a CBS segment on baguettes, I had to try theirs: it’s perfect. Reasonably priced as well!
Edit 2024: Came in during a short visit and things have changed a bit. No more indoor seating. It's been turned into more of a french product grocery store. But the baking is still there and as good as ever. This is actually a Frenchman holding the place so it's not just for show. I grew up eating this so I know a little bit about french cuisine and bakery. And boy, can he bake! So not only he wears the outfit but is rocking it. Food is good, pastries are good, sandwiches are to die for yet very simple and they have a very friendly staff. And you can order to go. Will be here a week and this is my go to place for breakfast and some deserts.
Haven't even finished eating what I ordered online and knew I had to leave a review! I ordered the French Toasts with Nutella, the Bacon and cheese omelette and an almond croissant. It was exactly what I was craving this morning! The food arrived on time and in cardboard boxes, which is important to me since I don't like plastic. Everything was delicious.
What an amazing place to grab a banquet and a coffee. While you are at it, please get a croissant and all those pastries. This is the spot but definitely come early or it will be very busy. We got here around 9 am on a Sunday but that is cutting it a little. This is the ideal French pastry spot in the neighborhood. You can find some pretty unique stuff here. The service is very quick and to the point. They can use some smile but it’s French style probably. The croissant has all the butter layers but can use some perfection.
This is an amazing French bakery that I started going super often to once I moved to park slope. They have so many choices of breakfast, pastries and other French products that along with Edith Piaf’s music in the background make me feel like I’m in France. Great quality of croissants and quiches
I’ve been to this place twice and both time it’s been perfect. It’s exactly what it advertises (no-frills French chill place with croissants and stuff). French music playing isn’t too loud. Nice light from the street. Croissants and mini croissants are delicious and reasonable. Iced coffee even has stevia if you want it.
Wonderful fresh pastry and special order food. We enjoyed our chrismas Quiche. ! Yummy!
The ham and cheese croissant was flaky and savory. The gentleman who greeted us when we entreated was so kind and enthusiastic to show off their pastries. Pleasant little shop.
Very nice bakery with a huge variety of food. I tried their sandwiches before and they were very nice and you can easily get full with them. This time we had an omelette and crepe. Honestly I was full with omelette, but one crepe looks a little bit small as for a full meal, and both of those things cost similar (around $10). Baked goods are delicious too, but a little bit expensive. This is why I’m giving 4 stars.
HANDS DOWN the best croissants I've ever had in NYC. I love that this little French grocer / cafe has opened in the neighborhood with a great selection of imported foods. Great spot to stop through for putting together a cheese + charcuterie platter in a hurry. They also have excellent breakfast options, salads, sandwiches, and chai lattes. Docking one star because one of the employees was extremely rude and short with my mom once right in front of me (she has an accent, and the person behind the counter was practically yelling at her). I'm mostly chalking it up as a fluke because they were having a busy morning, as the other times I've been there, everyone has been extremely courteous.
I ordered 4 cheese cakes online through grubhub. This establishment sent me smelly old food. The food was hard and had an old refrigerator taste and smell. You should be ashamed of treating your online customers in this way, as if food purchased via this modality is relegated to substandard food. I will update my social media community about this.
Thought this place would be a staple when I moved in, but the vibe is sour. Staff glowers instead of greeting, the lighting is dim and grimy, and everything in the case looks like it’s been sitting there for weeks. Last time I came in seven minutes before close, they refused to make a simple drink because the machines were “already shut down.” In service, you serve until closing—not whenever you feel like it. For the prices they charge, it’s not worth the cold treatment. Spend your money where customers actually matter.
I used to loveeee this place. The quality of food has declined over the past year, it doesn’t seem like they make the food fresh anymore. They’re always out of something these days and they don’t even call to ask if you would rather cancel or would you like a substitute. I ordered a savory crepe the other day and they just sent me an omelette that didn’t taste fresh with a tiny slice of a baguette. A few months ago, I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich and the egg tasted old and dry. I was just hoping they had a bad day that time. Very sad, they used to be my favorite on lazy mornings when I would want to order in brunch.
This place used to be so legit, but went in yesterday for a traditional gallette des rois and was served a $35 savory crumbly cake with a galette exterior. Not until we had served it to friends in the evening did we realize the interior was nothing like what it is supposed to be. I couldn’t even eat it, it was bland with no taste. Feeling totally duped and sadly won’t be returning. Did this place change owners???
