Tip: Ask for additional spicy powder on the side to enhance the flavor of the skewers. Be aware that it's a small, cash-only spot that can get crowded.

Arguably the best chain of bbq restaurants around 8th ave, usually you can get away with 30-40$ a person. They usually don't fry their meat before roasting it so it's healthier than most of the bbq stores on 8th ave that do. This store is usually less busy than the Mr q on 59th street, so its a great option to go to if that one gets packed. However, if you're a big eater you could spend upwards of 100$-$150 a person here, so I'd recommend going to a local BBQ buffet instead.
This place was recommended by a local when I visited here. I had a surprisingly great experience. They open until late into the night. I really like the spicy seasoning they have, and the fried milk was something special. It is a small space, though not many spot to sit, so it can get crowded easily. Despite this place having a lower than expected review. My friend and I enjoyed it a lot, maybe they have been making improvements.
Authentic street food just like what I ate in China years ago. Everything was good, the seasoning especially. Pretty good prices. Open late! A blessing
I love Mr. Q!! A staple in the area I go at least three times a year never had a bad experience. Food comes out so warm and so quickly and everybting tastes so fresh and delicious. Price is very reasonable too!!
The service could be better, but with an authentic location, this is kind of service that's expected. This place is a gem, the food variety is great and it tastes great. The prices are super cheap for NY. It may look hole in the wall, but it's popular for a reason.
everything we got was good! chicken wings & mackerel skewers were yummy, we ordered them twice. we also got the takoyaki 😋 the prices were very good as well!

I always wanted that chinese bbq flavor that I had back in China and Mr. Q's replicates it almost exactly. The skewers are very flavorful and definitely not too expensive. Coming here with 3 other friends can get you guys full with just $100s. Only issue is this place is quite small, but if you're not claustrophobic and only care about the food then try this place out. They have multiple chains across 8 ave too.
The skewers here are really good, I would personally recommend the mango smoothie, beef, and taiwan sausages. The chicken wings are huge and filling. I love coming here for take out or hanging out with friends. The employees are nice and always willing to add onto our orders.
The barbecue here is super yummy and well seasoned. I recommend asking for additional spicy powder on the side, and my favorite items are the salt and pepper squared, dried bean curd skewer, enoki mushroom and bacon skewer, and the big eggplant (has loads of garlic). The water melon juice is great too!
The food here was fantastic. When went last night I was not sure but when I see the price I was better other bbq spot I went to.

Store was recommended by a friend. The beef, chicken, and lamb skewers weren’t too special, you need to add the spice powder to enhance the flavors. The chives were tasty.
No frills hole in the wall casual spot for some skewers and drinks! We thought the skewers were plenty flavorful with their seasoning, moist and not overdone. Service was quite quick! We ordered: Squid, Lamb, Chicken, Fish Tofu, Taiwanese Sausage, Korean Rice Cake.
Mr. Q BBQ & Noodle in Brooklyn serves Chinese-style skewers, noodles, and snacks and is particularly popular for late-night dining. Despite the small space and cash-only policy, the service could be improved as my request for non-spicy skewers was disregarded.
Nice place for skewers. I love the beef skewers and melon smoothie. Cash only.

Good late night skewers place. I recommend the chicken, squid, chives, crispy pork intestines, and chicken wing. Beef tendon is tough, eggplant is very greasy, and beef balls are 2 balls sliced in half. Price is a little expensive for what it is.

I ordered online/phone call for some skewers and cold rice. I went to pick it up, the rice was there, but the BBQ was missing. They didn't even tell me I had another bag with skewers!

A friend took me here because it was nearby and we didn't want to travel in the NYC heat long. The skewers are definitely not over charcoal . The skewers look too clean where you could tell if there was a fire used. Flushing BBQ carts are way better for sure. I got lamb and they were pretty dry and tough to get off the skewer . My friend said they probably fry it and that's why it was overcooked. You pay more than you would at the carts on the side of the road and the quality is way better if you know where to go. I had a stomach ache after. One positive was that my friend said the fish he had tasted good. It's fish fried on a stick so I guess if you like that then try it out. Don't expect wait staff tending to you like you would at an American place. It's more of a go in and eat and leave. The smell of the place was off putting too. The skewers are legit just for appearance lol
Everyone please be careful as this place is known to scam your money. Tonight I ate dinner and ordered manny barbecue and they were missing 2 wings and beef. The chief said he brought us everything and accused me for liar. The workers collected the plates to kitchen to make calculations which was embarrassing for me. I will not lie to them about this especially since it’s only an additional $2. Also, my there were no chicken bones so they couldn’t tell me they brought it out. They went as far as to check camera. They will not show me the camera. Now I have a bad stomach ache and diarrhea. The food was repulsive and not fresh. Please do not go.
The food is mostly good, however the delivery guys are very bad attitude! If you didn’t give at least 15% tip, one of them will abuse you in your building, and actually they made mistake for something in your order, the recipient is good to fix his mistake to make exchange with me, however the delivery guy is showing bad with customer and yield: “look at here they are same order(actually they’re different, the one I order is squid leg but I received chicken!!!)” I asked him check by himself then he had nothing to say. I am honest customer with this store about 10 years!! It’s very disappointed about the service is going down with that delivery guy’!
I was very disappointed with my recent visit. We were charged a $15.15 gratuity for just two people, even though half of our food was takeout and there was no table service at all. We had to place our order through a barcode/QR code system, and not even a cup of water was offered. The only interaction from the staff was someone briefly bringing the food out—and even that was in disposable containers. For a place that adds automatic gratuity, I would expect at least basic service or some type of hospitality. Unfortunately, the experience felt more like fast food with sit-down pricing. Overall, the food may have been fine, but the service model and the added gratuity made the visit feel unreasonable and disappointing. I hope the restaurant reconsiders either improving the service or adjusting their automatic gratuity policy.
