A slice of Maine! This is our favorite spot in the city to get lobster hands down. It’s also where we go to celebrate anything. With Maine beer Co’s LUNCH on tap to help wash everything down, Red Hook Lobster Pound will not disappoint you with all their seafood offerings and their friendly staffing.
One of the best lobsters I’ve ever tasted! My husband and I drove all the way from New Jersey to visit this place after hearing they serve great lobster, and it did not disappoint. The trip was absolutely worth it and every penny spent. The green salad was also delicious and tasted very fresh. We will definitely be coming back! 🦞
Love the food! Everything here is so fresh and delicious. The Lobster Mac & Cheese is my absolute favorite, but the Lobster Roll, Fish & Chips are all tasty and S’mores is delicious! The atmosphere is great, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is super friendly and helpful, making the dining experience even better. If you’re in the area, you won’t regret stopping by!
Absolutely delicious! I ordered the CT roll and it was incredible — fresh, buttery, and packed with flavor. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the portion was generous. On top of that, the service was smacking — super friendly, quick, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!
My mother and I came here recently craving some good seafood, and we were absolutely blown away by what we found. The seafood was incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and perfectly seasoned. Every dish came in generous portions, and the shareable plates were ideal for two. I ordered the New England Seafood Boil and devoured every bite — it was that good. The staff treated us so warmly, and the atmosphere was giving total summer vibes, especially with a cocktail in hand. Truly a 10/10 experience — I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! For more delicious finds like this, make sure to follow @blaze_eatsnyc for the best eats around NYC!
Walked in on a Friday afternoon and got seated quickly. Service was great- staff was kind and attentive. I dropped a knife and a male server came with a new utensil set right away which I appreciated. We got started with the Lobster Claw Bloody Mary and that was yummy. I'm usually particular with my Bloody Marys but this one was good, and it came with a pickle and a lobster claw! For our meal, we got the two Lobster Rolls special with a starter and dessert for $125. We got the Maine and California Lobster roll, Mussels & Ciabatta to start, and a Key Lime Pie for dessert + we added the Garlic Biscuits too. The mussels and biscuits were AMAZING. The mussels were so fresh with an amazing fennel & garlic sauce. The biscuits were so hot and soft and moist! We devoured them so quickly, it needed no sauce. The lobster rolls were a tad bit disappointing for a place called Lobster Pound. It was good but nothing outstanding especially for the price ($40-50 is crazy). Our appetizers stood out so much to us and I'm sure the other food would be delicious as well, but the lobster rolls did not live up to my expectations. The dessert was good. They source it from a nearby shop that specializes in key lime pies and it was very soft and not too sweet which I enjoyed. I would for sure come back to try the rest of the menu!
This being my first introduction to lobster, we couldn’t have made a better choice than dining at Red Hook Lobster Pound—sincerely, an unforgettable feast for the senses! We started with calamari, which arrived quickly, and we even had to ask for seconds on the sauces. But the real reason we walked two hours—the meal that made it all worthwhile—was the fried lobster roll and the Connecticut roll. Every bite was irresistible, and I dreaded reaching the last. A truly incredible and memorable dining experience, made even better by the warm, engaging staff and the restaurant’s charming lobster-themed decor. Plus, they had an impressive selection of draft beers for those who enjoy a good brew. A MUST TRY! Grateful for Yes Chef ! & his motivating review.
Service was good. Food was delicious. Lobster was very fresh, and even the burger was good. We enjoyed our outing. Check this place out if you can!

We have come to NYC twice this year just for the lobster bisque at Bryant Park. Sounds silly, but that soup loaded with lobster makes dreams come true! :-).
The food and service was excellent. Good ambiance and no loud music. I would go there again.

As someone who eats a lot of lobster I'm here to say this is the best lobster roll ever! Four of us went and each tried a different one. All thought theirs were the best. Can't wait to go back.
Red Hook Lobster Pound has some real highlights and a few misses, but I’d definitely go back. The lobster roll was a win—meaty, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. One of the better ones I’ve had in NYC. The drink I had alongside it was super refreshing and really hit the spot. I also tried the crab dip, which I was excited for, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. It was seasoned well and tasted good with the chips, but the actual crab flavor was barely there. It felt like it was drowned in the creamy mix, and the crab just disappeared in it. The seafood boil with crab legs and corn looked great but unfortunately had no seasoning—completely bland, with zero flavor. Wouldn’t order that again. Still, the vibe was good, and the lobster roll alone makes it worth a visit. I’d go back and try more of the menu—just steering clear of the boil next time.
Came here recently with friends. We had a reservation, but they’ll seat you regardless, depending on how busy they are (we arrived around 12pm, so it was just getting busy). Service was good and attentive, the food was okay for me. The lobster bisque had a weird taste to it (it tasted a bit like eggs), and I’ve had better lobster rolls at other places in Manhattan and in Boston. But the vibes and service was good, and I’m willing to try it again to see how other things are on the menu.
Delicious! So, if you know me, I’m not a huge lobster roll kind of guy. However, my friends are. So we ended up checking this spot out and golly, it was amazing! My friends thoroughly enjoyed the lobster roll! They have an option call “main event” which we highly recommend. Best bang for your buck. The staff was very attentive and receptive to our need and the ambience gave you inside a boat vibe!
The restaurant is gorgeous, cozy, and rustic, the service courteous and polite and the pricey very moderate. I really enjoyed my lunch, the lobster roll was particularly good, warm and delicate, poached to perfection and the butter was not overpowering. The fish and chips was also very tasty, the fish must have been marinated for long because it was super flavorful. I tried one of their chowders too, which was real nice and the Brussels Sprouts were crunchy, lemony, and seasoned to perfection. I wasn't a fan of the crab dip, but overall, amazing restaurant in one of the most charming and underrated areas of Brooklyn.
We really liked our lunch! The lobster roll really hit the spot! staff was nice and the space is pretty large - they also have outdoor seating as well!! Would recommend if you're in the area!

Great environment with good menu of lobster n oysters. Happy hour is a great deal so go and enjoy!!!
I’m sorry Paul that we haven’t ordered the whole lobster that you have been pushing to sell so hard. On our first night in New York we were really looking forward to enjoy your famous lobster …
This place was ok, but expensive! We were visiting from Tx and doing some site seeing. We took a ferry to Redhook to try this restaurant. The ferry ride was pretty cheap and we did get to see the Statue of Liberty, Governor’s Island along the way. Once we arrived we had to walk to get to any restaurant/bar… they were no where near the dock. Also, we did make a reservation beforehand, but didn’t have any issues checking in early and getting seated. The staff were friendly and the outdoor seating was ok, so we thought, but after sitting there for dinner and hearing the cars honking and speeding by (outdoor seating is literally on the street) we were rethinking our choice. As far as the food goes… it was wasn’t worth the time/money (almost $300 for 4 people) we spent. If you’re on a budget, this place is not for you. Also, a lot of the shops were closed early, so there wasn’t much to do except drink alcohol or eat. Not what we were expecting! Our fault for not researching more before heading over to Redhook.

Don’t waste your money, possibly good for happy hour only though. Food: We got the Crispy Brussels (which was more soggy, just a few loose leaves were crispy). It seemed like it sat out for a bit before being brought to the table. Buttered lobster roll with sweet potato fries. The only buttered part was the bread, essentially it was just boiled lobster claw with a bit of scallions on top (no seasoning). The server didn’t asked us what portion size we would like our lobster. Regardless, portion was okay for the price. The sweet potato fries were soggy, not crispy at all considering a +$2 add on fee. The Hook Burger with regular fries. It wasn’t a smash burger, but the server didn’t ask us how we would like our burger cooked so we got well done (didn’t finish). Fries were crispier. 2 sodas, sprite and Diet Coke(flat). Service: we felt discriminated, the server gave other guests that came after us more attention as in asking them if they wanted still, sparkling or tap while we were not asked. Same with the portion sizes or how they like a food item cooked. Paper check was dropped for them before a POS system. We were just told to check POS system to pay. $98 for 5 items not including tip which we gave 15%.
