The best sushi in the neighborhood. Their spicy salmon cup is my go to, but all of their fish is quality. The miso udon soup is also a special treat and a nice step up from basic miso soup. And as an extra special treat, their house made soy sauce is way better than anything I’ve bought in a store. They also have good vegetarian/vegan options for those with dietary restrictions 👍🏼

Having eaten Silver Rice a truly absurd number of times over the years, I feel qualified to say this is the best takeout in the neighborhood. Though it's hard to not always get my favorite go-tos, it's great that they have other options on the menu & rotate in new things to try. If you haven't already had Silver Rice...you must order it immediately!!

Absolutely love the sushi cups from here (spicy tuna and unagi are our go-to). The rice with the flax is really delicious. All the other food - rolls, seaweed salad, soup really solid too. In the summer they have tasty slushy drinks that you can add shots of sake to, and they are refreshing without being too sweet.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant! I've been a Silver Rice customer since they opened and I lived nearby. I'm a bit farther away now, but still return for takeour OR delivery (via Uber Eats). I eat Silver Rice once a week sometimes. It is my biggest craging!! The service is fast and friendly and the food is incredible! The fish is always SO fresh. I like all of their soups (especially the shrimp dumpling soup, which is like miso soup with shumai in it). My go-to is the Spicy Salmon Cup, but I also like the Eel Cup. Be on the lookout for special seasonal cups and bowls, too! There are some great ones! Another menu highlight for me is the Real Crab California Roll! It is SO delicious with real crab (not imitation/"crab stick"). I haven't eaten "in" since the pandemic, but I used to like to do so. The prices are SO reasonable. Silver Rice seems to be doing a super job keeping the shop open and their employees safe (currently there's no indoor seating, and there's window access for customers and delivery people to go. Make sure when you order to get "flaxseed rice" - this is a special and delicious rice with crushed flaxseeds mixed in. All sushi or rice cups or bowls have an option or regular or flaxseed rice, and I recommend the flaxseed - it's so good! :)

Best spot for some quick affordable sushi. The cups are my usual go to’s, but the salmon and tuna rolls are also really great if you don’t want the spicy cup version. The unagi is really good, highly recommend.

Clean, Delicious, and Efficient. They have a secret recipe for their rice, which is what brings the whole thing together. The fish is fresh, and they are very accommodating for things like allergies. I saw a customer ask that they prepare her food on a new, clean, cutting board, and they did it. Make sure to get there before the rush (usually 7pm and 9pm) as they can get busy quick (along with foot traffic and online/phone deliveries). The staff work extra fast to help everyone and multitask. There is outdoor eating as well, and a great selection of Japanese beer and Sake. They even have ice cream!

I feel like I owe Silver Rice a shout out. I never do reviews but I’ve been ordering from this place almost weekly for the past year +. They’re consistent, reliable and most of all delish! The quality is outstanding and the prices are reasonable, will always be my go to.

My girlfriend and I go NUTS for this place- I only wish their delivery zone was bigger so I wouldn’t have to pay the caviar fees to have it delivered! Otherwise, it’s the best deal in town. Seriously, it’s insane how good it is, considering it’s $7 for a sushi cup that will fill you up every time.

I came for dinner with a friend. I got the salmon cup which is essentially Susie hi rice with salmon tartar. I was surprised at how good it was. I'd certainly back. Reasonable prices for NY and especially for that area of town. Clean and friendly. I was skeptical coming on, but turns out it's a fun and successful twist on raw fish/sushi/sashimi. What more can you ask? I'd comd back.

Silver Rice is a solid place. 7 bucks for a sushi cup that is fab and won’t get you sick? Sign me up please! I literally use them exclusively on seamless. Order or stop by now.

A charming takeout sushi place! I came here with friends, and we really enjoyed the rolls, udon, and bowls we ordered! Very fresh fish, and the flaxseed rice was unique and delicious. I was particularly charmed by the fact that my unagi cup literally came in a coffee cup. There's a small amount of outdoor seating, but most folks seem to come here for takeout. We enjoyed the evening breeze at one of the tables and only slightly melted since it's summer. Sushi was worth it though!

i have only ever ordered from here but oh my goodness it is my favorite place in all of NYC for sushi. First of all, as a vegan I am so pleased with their vegan rolls. I order from here at least once a week (sometimes twice a week). It's delicious. It's my comfort food and it just makes me happy

The cups are so affordable (7.50-$12) and they’re always fast. I love to visit this spot before work. Best sushi ever, always fresh and delicious. Also, a good amount of seating if you want to dine in.

This place is great if you're craving a roll really quickly. I think their double spicy salmon roll is the best, followed by spicy tuna. They are super fast even when they're super busy but sometimes they're inundated to expect a wait at peak times. They have never screwed up an order for me and are always friendly.

This is mostly a take out spot. But the food it so consistently good. We’ve been ordering take out from here for years and the salmon cups, Green Day bowls, and vegan eel rolls are always 10/10. Delicious and nutritious, with good vegetarian options.

This spot is amazing! Take out only with little tables on the sidewalk. The fish obviously isn’t like top tier omakase, but for a fast food sushi spot everything is fresh, delicious, and portions are generous. Will definitely eat here again.

The best sushi in Brooklyn and maybe all of NYC! The big bowel is pricey but def worth it for a treat. So big and full of different fish could easily share. And their miso soup is like crack! How can something this simple taste so good? And their ice cream is also exceptional and unique and a good size portion. Highly recommended!!

Been ordering from Silver Rice regularly for the past 6 months now and they never disappoint. I love that there are great vegan options as well. The flaxseed rice for rolls is my favorite. They also have a very yummy in house sake.

Very flavorful and extremely fast. I was prepared to wait the full estimated 30-40 minutes for pick up and got surprised by a text saying it was ready in 10! The shrimp wonton soup was a surprise winner for me. The spicy tuna roll did not disappoint. The one thing I would’ve changed on my order was not to get the crispy tempura flakes as there weren’t that many and they didn’t impact the texture like I’ve had in the past.

We’ve walked by a few times but never stopped. we ordered take out and it was so delicious. It’s fresh and the flavors are great! We got the miso soup with shrimp dumplings (there are some bland boring miso soups out there), spicy tuna roll with added avocado and tempura crunch inside (our favorite roll), eel avocado roll, avocado roll with added sauce. This will be our new take out spot :-)

I always go for their premium salmon sushi cup for $10. It is raw salmon over flaxseed rice topped with cucumber and avocado and always comes with spicy mayo and DARK soy on the side. It is so delectable and fun to eat. The spicy mayo here is extra special!

This place has a fun take on sushi and chirashi! The ingredients are fresh and the menu has lots of unique items. The process of eating chirashi out of a cup takes some getting used to, but it’s now one of my favorite places to go when I’m craving sushi/sashimi. The Sakura cup has everything that I want in sushi. Try the miso ice cream with extra crunchy rice sprinkles too. I also love their refrigerator case with small portioned little goodies!

I would call this place a hidden gem… the food is SO GOOD! Their rice cups are enough to rave about… I won’t lie, I was skeptical at first but each ingredient was fresh and generously served. This is such a neat concept and I hope Silver Rice could replicate this in other neighborhoods in the future. The miso soup was great, make sure to order it with extra shumai if you want a bit more substance to fill you. However, the rice cup itself is very filling, and really convenient if you’re on the go. During the pandemic, ordering is contactless but it was not problematic.. really easy to do and you get notified once your order is ready for pickup at the window, and there is also seating right outside. Overall, Silver Rice is a convenient, affordable and fresh option! 5/5 stars.

This has been my regular sushi spot for delivery and eat in since the day they opened. Nowhere in NY will you find this quality at this price point. Today I eat a Silver Rice classic: Spicy Tuna cup, seaweed salad and a $5 cup of the house Sake, with a hearty tip $20. 🤘

Great food and Good Quality, compared to other restaurants the sushi is fresh and real seafood no artificial flavors or anything. Only thing is it’s more of a pop up store than a restaurant but still is good for winter and day time vibes. I suggest Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, and California also there miso soup and miso soup with dumplings!

sidewalk sushi? im all for it $7.50 and you get an extremely densely packed cup full of rice and minced raw fish. i waited ~5 mins max for my order to be done and it was BUSY. i also tried their hojicha lemonade mix and it was delicious and refreshing but really heavy on the ice haha u will simply not beat this value of sushi anywhere else. great vibes and plentiful sidewalk seating!

Fish-first, melt in your mouth bowls and rolls. I am picky about sushi! The fish shouldn't be cold, it should taste fresh, and the rice should be flavorful and soft. Silver rice checks all these boxes for me! Try the marinated mackerel bowl, it is unbelievable. Love that you can add fish eggs too!

What a gem! Their rice cups are a welcome and innovative take on sushi. The rolls are good too. They don’t have many fish options, which likely helps ensure that what they do have is always fresh, which it is. I’ve seen them carving large pieces of tuna and salmon in the kitchen area, and they look great. I see no reason this couldn’t be a successful chain.

Silver Rice is SOOO GOOD. My local friend orders from them all the time. I had the shallot roll, super flavorful, and the spicy salmon cup, one of my favorite menu items anywhere. I only rated a 4 for service as you can only order online and cannot order at the walk up window, but once you know it's no problem and quick service!

Decided to get takeout on a rainy night and swung by this local sushi spot. The restaurant seems to only service takeout, delivery, and outdoor dining at this time. I ordered the Harvest bowl (assorted sashimi over rice), Tofu miso soup, and a side of red pickles. It was neatly packed with all the utensils and side condiments. My meal was good, service was nice and quick, and I had no mishaps carrying my takeout back home!

Ordered delivery from here to try out a now local spot and WOW, the quality + value + freshness were great. - udon miso soup was classic but fantastic especially in the cold - spicy tuna was one of the best I’ve had in a while - I got the real crab cali roll, could’ve gotten the regular or gone without it but still nice - simple and plain edamame - not salted which was really nice. Happy I chose to support a local sushi joint rather than a large chain and the quality + care showed. Going to be visiting soon!

Another solid spot on Franklin, and my go-to for sushi if I don't feel like walking more than a couple blocks. It's not the best sushi around, but it's accessible, easy to take on the go, and in a trendy spot. Pre-COVID they had $10 mystery boxes at the end of the night with rolls of whatever ingredients they had leftover with miso soup, it was awesome.

It's not easy to find a place as relatively inexpensive while maintaing a high standard. Silver Rice cups are the perfect amount of food that doesn't leave you bloated and tired. I've never regretted coming here

Silver rice is a solid local sushi outpost. The cups and bowls are sort of like your standard poke bowls but without the layered ingredients. I think it's a bit of a confusing menu and often leaves you without a satisfying order. Four stars because the quality is good but it's not perfect. It's also on the pricey side for a poke bowl of the size.

What a great sushi spot. Got the spicy salmon sushi bowl in a cup and the miso ice cream. So delicious and deceivingly filling. Fish was fresh, and the rice was well flavored as well. Miso ice cream is such a unique flavor and very worth getting, especially if you like salty-sweet combinations.

Cute little place. Seating is all outside and you have to order online. Which we had no idea and the girl at the front was kinda rude when she told us that we couldn’t order at the window. Sorry we didn’t know. Anyways my boyfriend got the real crab roll and the salmon roll. He said they were good. I got got the spicy tuna silver cup. Which was good but was kinda sad I only got a little Dollop of the spicy Mayo, literally. And it was a $1.25 extra to add more sauce. The cup is mostly filled with rice and a little spicy tuna and I thought I would run out if fish before I finished my rice. I was wrong the spicy tuna was the best I’ve had and it had more of a kick to it so a you had enough to spread out through the rice. The rice taste very good and has a unique taste to it. A little salty in a way. Not a bad place but I have been to others sushi places for cheaper and same quality.

This was a tasty sushi experience for a great price. You get exactly what you pay for - mid level sushi, a pleasant atmosphere, and very quick service. Don't go in expecting anything gourmet or time-consuming, and you'll have an enjoyable time. I really recommend the outdoor seating. Even in 40 degree weather, that covering keeps it temperate.

Delicious and filling! I got 2 rolls (salmon avo & spicy tuna), a miso soup with shrimp dumplings, and seaweed salad. I think the rolls are a bit bigger than other sushi places that I’ve been to. The only warning I have is if you have it delivered, make sure you track your order diligently. I got an email that said my order was delivered 10 mins ago and it was sitting outside the door of my apartment building. I didn’t receive a phone call, a text message, no one rang my buzzer, and I also requested it to be handed to me. Someone could have easily stolen the order.

The rolls and cups are made with fresh ingredients and very tasty. The portion however does not worth the price. It’s very little and the rolls leave a lot of empty space in the container.

Good sushi spot, with delicious and fresh food. Shush Looked so fresh and taste , they were big , they have outdoor and indoor seats. It’s not like restaurant or place to go for date, but perfect to grab a bite with friends talk and chill there. Clean place, staff is friendly, only thing is water ball , where you get tap water to drink were little bit dirty, because when you open it to pour the water in cap it was dirt coming out of tap.

It is cool cozy restaurant. It has only a few seats. The food is delicious but mine was a cup of rice with a layer of veggies on top. It was too much rice for my taste.

It was raining, I was getting hangry. My dinner companion found Silver Rice on Google maps. We were happy we found this place! Takeaway only but service was super quick and the staff were friendly in helping us with our choices. The menu had pictures too which I always find helpful too when making a choice! The crispy shallot salmon rolls were unique and delicious. We also had the oyako rolls and the salmon/avocado rolls. All super fresh and a good size. We also had miso soup (one with tofu and one with shrimp dumplings). It seemed busy with lots of people collecting deliveries. It’s a shame there’s no seating apart from outside (thus low stars for atmosphere sorry). Would also appreciate less plastic but this doesn’t seem to be unusual in the US.

For quick, sidewalk sushi on the go this is a good option. Sushi/bowls might not be as exciting as the more modern sushi restaurants, but it’s passable with some welcome variations like flax seed rice. Miso soup is also decent.

So I'm not going to drag them.. but I'm very upset to find out that all things are cut on the same cutting board. I did frequent this place, and came a great deal more before I became vegan. This information is concerning for vegetarians and vegans. I've been eating animals each time I've come, unknowingly.. But this is also scary for people with allergies.. shell fish cut where a cucumber is? Not a good look. I don't understand why the veggies and stuff containing no meat have to make contact / share space. It would be really nice to have this as an option in the neighborhood, as I now live around the corner. All it would take is handling the food with a little more care. I hope they change their ways so more humans can enjoy the amazing food.

I was excited to give Silver Rice a try given the reviews. While it tasted fine, the portion was super small. The unagi/eel cup had three small pieces of eel (less than you'd find in half a sushi roll) and a cup full of white rice. Also, I ordered the flax rice and incorrectly received white rice. The miso with shrimp shumai was a better portion.

They do have a small interior bathroom, but it's almost a literal hole in the wall. The pickles are like a cabbage slaw, the eel was chewy and fatty, rice was sort of sour, the food was overpriced, and overall I was pretty bummed for how good the menu made everything appear. Staff is very nice, but other reviews are really overselling this place.

Been eating here for 7 years. The spicy salmon changed recently -- it's oily enough to leave an orange stain on the cup, and it doesn't taste as good.

Sushi is fine - the cups are a decent deal but like 75% rice I don’t know if I can keep supporting when there is so much WASTE! A single order of their rice cup has three little plastic cups (for soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi) plus a plastic fork plus a pair of chopsticks.

Paid for avocado on my Alaskan Bowl, didn't receive it. Attempted to grab one of the employees but the line had started forming out the door so received no response. Garbage. Otherwise, too packed to be pleasant. Food is fine but the cost is high for the portions.

This comment isn't about the food, which is always good. It's about the way we were treated by one of the employees when picking up the order. She was unfriendly and cold. She didn't even say thank you for your business. Yes, food service work is stressful and hard, but you don't take it out on your customers.

I’m sorry to say I got food poisoning from this location on 4/16, from a salmon bowl. I previously ordered from here/ate here all the time, must have been a bad batch. Leaving a review so others are aware.

This used to be my go to spot for quick decent sushi, I prob used to go once a month. But the last two times I’ve ordered from here it’s been absolutely disgusting. Honestly it was inedible. The fish was off

Literally, what? Do not read these reviews - we ordered spicy tuna rolls, salmon avocado rolls, a cucumber avocado roll for my toddler plus a seaweed salad and miso… the last two of which went direct to the garbage. The miso soup was just water and arrived cold, whereas the seaweed salad was acidic and old. And within my spicy tuna, you can see that even some of them where mal-sized. I suggest saving your money and ordering (or going) somewhere else.
