Amazing!! Must visit!! The atmosphere and the food is just perfect!!
great 24 hours diner, its hard to get late night eats anymore and this place is cozy and reliable. burger and fried were good cant wait to come back to try more :)
Went around midnight on a Tuesday night. The server was friendly and our food came out in like 5 minutes and it was hot & tasty. We stuck with breakfast so I can’t speak for other items but our food was delish
What can I say. Was warmly welcomed out of the snow into a cosy booth by the window. Delicious coffee, OJ and iced water followed by a massive mixed fresh salad and turkey club wrap. Everything tasted amazing!! Would greatly recommend!!
To all my Willy-B's(Williamsburg Neighbors) and anyone passing through...This place right here is the only original undisputed spot close by that I can call a real Diner and it's right here in the borderline of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. We walked from Metropolitan Ave and Meeker looking for this place. When we stepped inside, my son and I were very impressed. It has a very friendly atmosphere. The menu & it's large portions of freshly made food along with the wonderful service by Nazi(our server) was absolutely amazing. Our gratitude to the Chef as well. So exciting with it all that we forgot to take pictures :-D It may be a little pricey, but it's worth every single bite :-p We will definitely be back ... Next time for breakfast :-) This place deserves a 5 plus review rating
Old-school diner charm.. lotsa booths along the windowed perimeter of the dining area, plus table seating in the center of the space for larger groups.. and per usual, an extensive menu.
Sunset Diner is my "Go-To" because their food is always made with fresh ingredients and they don't skimp on their portions! You get a bang for your buck' because they serve up a nice large plate of food here. I've been coming to Sunset for years with zero complaints whether I order online or stop in. Everything is really good on their menu. Always a chill vibe. Waitresses are super nice and prices are really reasonable. Try their burgers- the quality of beef is Grade A-Best!
As my group and I were driving to our pre chosen diner, we saw this on the way and decided to check it out. As you walk there’s a cozy atmosphere that you feel. We were sat down by a very kind hispanic waiter. Prices are good and all we got burgers for brunch. We did not wait that long for the burgers. One of the best burgers i’ve had in a bit. really feels homemade and the fries too! Would totally recommend this diner for a quick bite and talk🤪
Neon glow, my guiding star, I wasn’t hungry.. then you were. You shimmered pink against the night, And whispered, “Burger time, alright?” I slid into a booth so wide, Cheeseburger deluxe by my side. Juicy bite, the fries stood tall, Ketchup dripped, a modern art wall. No pickle here, but that’s okay, The vibe itself was entrée-grade. A perfect place to pause, unwind, A Brooklyn gem, one of a kind.
About a year ago, I visited this diner for a college outdoor assignment, and I’m glad I chose it. The management was incredibly welcoming, they let me ask questions and made me feel at home. I learned that this place stayed strong through the pandemic by showing up for their community. I even met a few regulars who clearly see this diner as a second home, whether they’re stopping by for a quick bite or a friendly chat with the staff. The vibe here is cozy, comfortable, and genuinely positive. I highly recommend the platters—they’re delicious and reasonably priced. The people here are wonderful and treat every customer with kindness and respect. I’ve included these pictures as part of the assignment to capture the warmth and character of the place.
The service was amazing. The two gentlemen serving us were kind and patient. I ordered the Acapulco style burger - it had jalapeños and roasted onions. The burger also came with a side- I chose sweet potato fries! It was amazing! We also got pancakes with whip cream and fresh strawberries for our table - I can't recommend it enough! The strawberries were FRESH! The pancakes were soft and tasty! All in all, it was amazing. We went on a Saturday evening and it was surprisingly not busy. The atmosphere was relaxing. We went after a pool day and it was nice to eat a bunch of food and relax. Do make sure you take your physical bank card - Apple pay and Google pay were not working when we went.
One of the best things about visiting the NYC area is 24/7 diners. Sunset Diner in Brooklyn fit that bill perfectly with an amazing plate of French toast at midnight that was perfectly cooked with crispy bacon. It’s the typical late night weekend diner vibe inside with lots of drunk folks, slightly annoyed servers and food that comes out surprisingly quick and surprisingly tasty.
Tbh I love this diner. 24 hours. You can pay your bill w a QR code on your phone. The food always comes out quickly. The menu is extensive. Everything is priced reasonably. The dining room is always kept fairly clean. It’s good diner food. Just keep in mind you are at a DINER! That being said, I will say the coffee is pretty terrible.
Service and atmosphere decent and will give you a diner feel… but food very overpriced for what you get. Ordered chicken tenders (which were definitely frozen) and Philly cheesesteak wrap and chicken Philly. Came out bland and not savory.
I ordered takeout from this restaurant. I got the waffle, the rice pudding, and pound cake. Each of these was very average at best. The rice in the pudding was undercooked and the pound cake was highly processed—more closely resembling a packaged cake from 7-11 than a handmade cake from a local diner.
Our waitress was nice enough, but the food was terrible. Really hard to mess up a diner burger, but we still somehow got a flavorless overcooked burger. We also got a meatball sub and the meatballs were bland and had a weird texture. I should've known with such a big menu that it wouldn't be that good. We even overheard the waitress say she doesn't eat at the diner because the food sucks. So yeah. Overpriced shitty food with meh customer service.
Strange vibe to this place. I’ve been in the daytime and had a nice lunch, and been at 3AM more recently and discovered why some reviews say this place went downhill. Same as someone else said, the older man waiting tables at night seems completely aloof. Took my order, gave me my drink, and because I started reading I didn’t realize half an hour had gone by and he hadn’t come by the table once: not with my food, not to tell me it was almost ready, and seemed to be avoiding not only me but interacting with the other staff. He kept going over to the service stand and rolling place setting by the dozen to kill time. There was even a bizarre moment where the saloon-style kitchen door loudly and completely shattered and the wood clattered to the floor—3 guys went to check it out but this older guy, he just kept standing there rolling place settings. When I finally got his attention, I told him I just wanted the check. He brings me a bill with the grilled cheese sandwich I never got still on it. I didn’t want to interact with him anymore, so I crossed off the grilled cheese, wrote “never got this,” left $10 for the milkshake, got up and left. I don’t mind curt or surly staff in a diner, especially on graveyard shift, but being cold-shouldered by someone who’s clearly not cut out for waiting tables at all is a different story. Honestly! I’ll take an attitude if you can do your job, but if you can’t, it’s a problem. I’ll give them 3 stars for atmosphere because it’s such a cool little diner tucked away in a spot where it could be a great neighborhood secret—too bad it’s becoming more of a neighborhood mystery.
I honestly could not recommend this spot. The food is very mediocre. The service is also not the best. I’ve lived in the area about 7 years it’s not getting better. U can stop here if u have too but a lot of better options.
i never leave bad reviews, i just figure maybe it was an off day. but, as im reading more reviews im learning that it was not just me who had a horrible experience here. i came here with a group of friends after a late night. we wanted some good diner food and this place was suggested to us. the booths there are not meant for big groups so while we were trying to figure out our seating the waitress threw the menues on the table and waved us off. we never saw her again after that, probably for the best. the gentleman that took our order was fine. however the food was not worth the price. the flavor and temperature of the food was not appetizing at all. my friend ordered pancakes which were raw in the middle! that's truly unacceptable. i dont recommend this place at all.
By far one of the worst dinners you’ll come across the only reason this place is still open is because of location the staff especially the older man who is always there at night he is never friendly and food is always cold. I never leave reviews but the service at this place is horrible and it’s never clean I’ve live in Greenpoint my whole life only people who don’t know eat here. Door dash is the only thing keeping this place open will surely close in the next year and staff will wonder why
