Aquí Excellent bar and restaurant; the food is very good, and the service is friendly, respectful, and attentive. But the best part is the bar—the bartender is very friendly and always serves you with good humor and a helpful attitude, and he makes delicious cocktails. I love them! I always prefer to let him surprise me with one because I never know which to choose; they’re exquisite. The atmosphere is super cool, especially on karaoke and live music nights. I highly recommend it!!**
One of my fav places in the neighborhood! The staff is always so sweet and I love that there is a side of the restaurant with loungey bar vibes. As someone with a dairy allergy, I’ve been able to try most menu items after some modifications and never have had any issues with contamination which means a lot. I also literally always end up with leftovers for later which is always a plus! You’ll definitely get a bang for your buck + make sure you munch down on the chips and salsa beforehand
Best margaritas! Yummy food! We got the Frozen Strawberry Marg. and the Regular Marg. both were refreshing and tasted perfect! To eat, we shared the Nachos Supreme with Carnitas. It was so delicious! The guacamole is fresh and so good. Highly recommend for anyone craving Mexican style food or in the mood for margaritas. We will be back!!!
This place is fantastic! I ordered the fish bowl, which was super crunchy and juicy, with black beans and pico de gallo – delicious! My husband had the El Patron burrito, and he loved it. We got two margaritas – one mango and one passion fruit. I preferred the mango; it was strong, smooth, and delicious without any aftertaste, unlike the passion fruit. The food was great, and the atmosphere was perfect, with awesome music. We had a great time!
The food was good. The food is well portioned and the drinks are very delicious. The service was excellent. The waiter checked in multiple times throughout our dining experience. The atmosphere is chill, relaxing and fun. The music was great and I would 10/10 recommend friends and family to come here.
Second time coming here. It's always great. Always authentic. 10/10!!!!! Got the regular nachos with beans added on. Not too salty, freshly cooked chips, banging guacamole. Everything was evenly distributed for a perfect bite! Pina colada margarita is delicious. Topped with a bit of cinnamon. Nice touch. I will always come back
This place is close to home and it’s the perfect place to go for lunch or dinner. The settling makes you feel like you’re in a different place. The staff were attentive and pleasant :) The food came out quickly; fresh well done and seasoned to perfection. My shrimp hard shell tacos were yummy! They have dine-in and take-out options. When visiting the Flatbush/ Prospect Park area, GO HERE!
El Patron Mexican Grill is a hidden gem in the realm of Mexican cuisine. Nestled in a cozy spot, I was delighted to have stumbled upon this restaurant, all thanks to a friend's recommendation. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a treat. During our lunch visit, every bite was a revelation of flavor and authenticity. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Birria quesadilla. Bursting with succulent shredded meat and melted cheese, each bite offered a symphony of savory goodness that left me craving for more. The combination of tender meat and gooey cheese encased in a perfectly grilled tortilla was nothing short of perfection. And let's talk about their guacamole – a true testament to the freshness of ingredients and culinary finesse. Creamy, vibrant, and bursting with flavor, it served as the ideal accompaniment to our meal. Whether paired with crispy tortilla chips or dolloped generously onto our dishes, the guac elevated every bite to new heights. Beyond the exquisite flavors, the ambiance of El Patron Mexican Grill added to the overall dining experience. The warm, inviting decor and friendly staff created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. In conclusion, El Patron Mexican Grill exceeded all expectations, delivering a culinary experience that left a lasting impression. From the delectable Birria quesadilla to the irresistible guacamole, every aspect of the meal was a testament to the restaurant's dedication to quality and authenticity. Whether you're a die-hard fan of Mexican cuisine or simply looking for a delicious meal, El Patron Mexican Grill is a must-visit destination. Trust me; you won't be disappointed.
Had a work holiday party here. The service was great and so is the eclectic atmosphere. We split chicken nachos amongst six people and they were pretty good and very loaded with pico, sour cream, and guac. I’m not dying to go back but I wouldn’t have ordered differently. We also split some wings but they were cold and not that great.
This place is great but I just have one note for the chefs: it would be great if the burrito ingredients were distributed evenly in the burrito. Like, usually all the rice is at one end and all the other ingredients are at the other end. Still all good ingredients, very generous portions, so good, but it would be even better if each bite had a little bit of everything, know what I’m saying?
Had a great time here for bottomless brunch! Defintely a great place to go for weekend brunch with friends :) it's a bit of a dive bar so don't expect too much but the drinks were good. And the food was good for brunch I'd recommend over dinner which we've been a couple times too. Nothing crazy fancy but decent for sure 👌 bathrooms available which are in thr back. The music is the best part about this place it's bussing if you love reggaeton and latin music. Would defintely go back! They have some outdoor seating as well :) if you're looking for a solid Mexican spot this is it. My one feedback is it's a bit expensive especially for the smaller portion sizes :3
got the taquitos, azteca tacos with barbacoa , and el patron burrito. food was good but wasn’t outstanding. the taquitos were my favorite out of the three but the shell was a bit hard to chew. the burrito was MASSIVE and could feed 2 people easily. the tacos came with a green sauce which was amazing, but the tacos were wet? not really juicy, or saucy, just wet… we arrived near opening and there was only one person serving as host and server. this wasn’t an issue for us at all but our food did take a long time despite the restaurant not being too full
The place is cozy and decor attractive. The food was decent, meat excellent, portions gigantic but somehow it didn’t quite work for us. Bloody Mary was straight horrible. When it first came out it was so salty that if most likely contained a weekly amount of recommend dose of sodium. It soon turned out it was to mask the lack of alcohol in the cocktail. Our server was kind enough to bring us complimentary shots but we made a mistake of mixing those into the drinks instead of downing them straight up. It didn’t go well. Now we had super salty drinks. Service was polite and efficient. Perhaps we just didn’t make the right choices. Horchata was delicious!
Total ripoff for mediocre food. They charged 9 dollars for basic chips and salsa and it was the tiniest serving of chips! Can’t help but think the owners are so greedy. And they obviously use store bought premade dressing for their “Cesar salad”. Tasted so artificially sweet and processed, absolutely not homemade dressing. The server was nice and that’s the only compliment I can give this place.
I was very happy to take my work partners to this restaurant to get take out. When we arrive back to the office and took out the food. There was a LIVE roach 🪳 on my fish taco! I was so upset I just threw the food away. Luckily my job paid for it because I would have wanted my money back. This will be my last time eating from this restaurant. Honestly you guys should be reported! See picture below
On Chilly Monday night, I decided Mexican food was a good idea. I wasn’t impressed with El Patron. Will I come back? No. Service was fast. Food came out quickly. So what was the problem? The food is a little bland for my taste. The reason the place got 4 stars from me was quick, friendly service, and large portions of food. Moving from the south I’m just use to a little more flavor. This place in my opinion is great for maybe a date night or hanging with friends. It’s usually packed on a Friday and Saturday night so you have try it for yourself. Obviously, this place is still here for a reason. Don’t let my southern snobbery detour you from checking this place out. ***so changing my review rating*** I just got home it is 7:22 PM I threw-up!
