The food was delicious. The chicken oil rice is to die for. Very fragrant. The environment is modern and bright. They have prices that reflect their portion sizes. Highly recommend this place! Come give it a try!
This is probably the 10th time I return to this restaurant. The restaurant is very bright and clean. Food is great, I’m addicted to their yellow wine chicken rice noodle. Apparently it has a lot of health benefits. Definitely my to go Malaysian spot now.
Amazing prices for delicious dishes. Love their stir fried beef noodles!
Delicious food and wonderful service! Highly recommend Hainan chicken and curry chicken noodles. Always a solid choice eating here. You can’t go wrong!!

I really like how they immediately cleaned up and welcomed me when I came in. Additionally, I really liked that they provided photos to show what some of the dishes looked like. Also the food is quite delicious for the prices too!

Amazing food, good service. Would come again
Nice staff, food is reasonably priced and timely.
Really good restaurant with lots of delicious food!
Deliciousness AND Kindness in the City: I popped in here when I was VERY jet lagged and was trying to get my body to eat in waking hours. I sipped the delicious chicken noodle soup while some of the kitchen staff sat together laughing and preparing green vegetables. The ladies next to me were from Malaysia and Vietnam and we swapped long haul flight stories. My waitress was so kind and patient as I strained my bloodshot eyes to read the noodle choices (they have about six!) and eventually read them aloud to me.
My daughter said that it’s one of the best pearl noodles she’s had. And she’s been eating pearl noodles since she was 3. Place is clean and bright. Very welcoming.
Delicious food and friendly service! The place is clean and cozy. I’ll definitely come back again.
Food is always delicious and served quickly, staff is nice and accommodating as well
The place is very welcoming & the employees were very nice and I definitely highly recommend checking this place out the food smells and taste delicious
The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always checked in at the right time without being intrusive. They made the whole dining experience very pleasant
I love visiting this restaurant with my family. The food is great & flavorful, and the staff are attentive and kind. They always check up on your table to make sure everything is going well. The dishes have the perfect amount of wok hey, and I love their Tom Yum soup.
Great food, amazing service, some of the best Malay food in the area!
I dine in this restaurant a few times per week since it opened in August 2023. The customer's order is served within 5 minutes of being placed & the waitresses are very accommodating & courteous. The premises are always clean, the food served here is of excellent quality & the menu has a considerable variety to choose from. Accordingly, I highly recommend this business for dining. Good spot with a variety of specialty malay cuisine. Friendly staff and great service
Best Malaysian and Chinese food ever. Quiet atmosphere, authentic food, great customer service and super convenient. I’ve ordered to go as well and they were quick! Wheel chair accessible and amazing Thai iced tea. I’d come here for the Thai iced tea alone. Their baked chicken is a favorite. Sooooo good!
It’s a cute little space that’s nice and clean. Fresh ingredients and tasty food. Definitely recommend.
I love the food and the service. The staff is always kind and welcoming.
The food teste really nice, very good customer service, I really love the place, pretty, comfortable and confident, a good place to go with your partner or family, it really deserves the five stars⭐️!!!
Best Malaysian restaurant ever. Prices are great and I come here with family and friends frequently and they never disappoint. I definitely recommend the Baked Curry Chicken Rice and definitely the Hainanese Chicken. The workers are friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend!
The food here makes me happy, and the area around it has charm too. This restaurant provides the right energy and likable people. The workers were helpful and the space was wonderful as well. Tasty creations with attentive staff in an inviting setting. You won't regret spending money here.
Came here with a party of two. We had the wine chicken rice noodle and Malaysian style chow fun. The wine smell was a bit strong but both were delicious
One of my favorite Malaysian restaurants in Brooklyn! Friendly waiters, fast service, and delicious flavors. I eat here at least 3 times a month haha.
Every feature of this restaurant is well-executed. The restaurant shows attention to style and hygiene. The team delivered service worth mentioning. You can taste the quality in everything. I'm glad I found this restaurant.
Excellent dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service attentive without being intrusive, and the food fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I always come here to order food and take home😚 A place I would happily return to and recommend.
The food are colorful and delicious, the place were quite but not awkward, worker were nice.
This place has an incredibly friendly and welcoming staff who are not only very nice, but also extremely respectful. They make you feel comfortable, valued, and well taken care of every time you visit, which really adds to the overall positive experience.
Absolutely phenomenal! This Malaysian restaurant delivers an authentic culinary experience that’s bursting with bold, complex. The service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance made us feel right at home. A true hidden gem. Five stars without a doubt!
The food here is really good. I liked the Hainanese chicken rice and the Gu Lao Rou and more! The Ipoh milk tea was tasty too. The staff were friendly, and the place was clean and comfortable. Prices were fair for the quality. Great spot for Malaysian food!
One of my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. The menu offers fantastic variety of Malaysian classic. I had Roti Canai, which was perfectly crispy on the outside a soft inside to pair with flavorful curry. Hainanese chicken, the skin was smooth and the meat was tender, love it, love it , love it. I also had a clam vermicelli noodle, delicate flavorful broth and natural sweetness from the clam is definitely perfect for cold weather!!!! Check out this place! Highly recommended!!!
Bold and delicious! I ordered delivery from here and the food came packaged well and piping hot. I ordered the Curry Laksa and Sizzling Tofu. Both were good but the sizzling tofu was next level. Each bite brought an interesting discovery of flavors. Pork, shrimp, guessing peanuts? And anchovies? The tofu was fried crisp on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside. Will be ordering again soon!
A comfy and casual restaurant with great food! We came late at night and so it was more chill and relaxed, there's nice music playing inside and the waitresses pay attention to your table and gave great recommendations. Food came out very quick. Most importantly the chow fun tasted great! Will definitely be back.
I ordered the clam noodle soup and it was amazing! The soup broth was very soothing on a cold day and had healthy natural flavors. The clams were great. I ordered it with rice noodles and there was a healthy amount. Huge menu variety! Very good experience I will be back to try the other dishes.
Service is A +, I bought a half Hainan Chicken to go and when I got home , I noticed that they didn’t give me any sauce for the chicken, then I call back and tell the lady what happened, she didn’t question me anything , just say she will give me back the half chicken to make it up, this is what I call great customer service should be. After three months and I go there today to pick up my chicken, she still being very nice to me, I didn’t just go for the credit chicken, I also order the curry beef stew noodle soup, it was delicious, thank you very much.
We came here on a Sunday morning (around 10:30-11 am) and it was quiet and calm with a couple of other customers here. This spot is very homey and giving mom and pop shop. We ordered the pad thai and the baked rice with minced pork and shrimp. The service here is great and the food came out fast. We also got the iced milk tea and iced lychee. Will definitely be stopping by here again if I find myself around the neighborhood!
An very family friendly atmosphere, with efficient service. The most authentic Malaysian cuisine in brooklyn by far other than its second shop 9 aves down. Food is absolutely stunning starting from its satay skewers to is sizzling plates. The home made tofu is just to die for when paired with rice.
I have noticed this spot has been open for years, but I had no idea it was a Malaysian restaurant. I stopped by a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. They have an authentic tri-sauce selection on the table, which includes sambal bawang, sweet and sour chili, and pickled peppers. I haven’t looked back since. The dishes are delicious, and the service is phenomenal. Guess what? My kids agree with my assessment as well. The only disappointment I have is that they don't serve nasi lemak (coconut rice) with the namesake dish.
I had a great experience at Yi Poh Kitchen and would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves delicious, affordable Asian food. The place is very clean and well-maintained, which made me feel comfortable and welcomed right away. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was quick and smooth. I ordered the beef noodles, and they were absolutely delicious. The noodles were soft but chewy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The beef was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. You could really tell the ingredients were fresh and made with care. The portion size was generous too — I felt full and happy without paying a lot. What I really liked about Yi Poh Kitchen is that it has a nice, calm environment. It’s clean, peaceful, and perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. Whether you’re eating alone or with friends or family, it feels like a cozy spot to enjoy your meal. The prices are very affordable, especially for the quality of food you get. It’s a great place if you’re looking for good food on a budget. Everything is in good condition, from the chairs to the restrooms, and you can tell they care about keeping the place nice for customers.
Char kway teow - a must-order. Delicious. Got the balance just right. Hua dan hor fun - very silky egg, noodles are good, not too congealed. Fried rice - quite average and paled in comparison to the other dishes. Black bean clams - tasted fresh. Large clams. Goes well with their chili sauce. Knocked off a star due to the rather high price for the area. Service was okay. Not a big restaurant so might have to prepare to wait for a weekend dinner.
Finally, a Hainanese Chicken and Rice dining location near me! I'm not saying there are NO locations near me that serve this dish, but all the other places are a good 30 to 40-minute walk away. This one is like 10 minutes away, and it's affordable and pretty damn good. Sure, there is Hainan Chicken House, which is famous on instagram or tiktok, located in the Brooklyn Chinatown, but have you ever tried to get a seat there? It's packed full of people hopping onto a trend. So instead of going to those flashe in a pan social media, famous locations. Check out a slightly off the beaten track location like Yi Poh Kitchen. For appetizer obviously you gotta start with the Rotai Canai. A flaky, airy flatbread served with a side of chicken curry for dipping. The chicken curry here is tender, juicy, and boneless with just the right amount of heat. Though I have noticed a trend with the roti served in malaysian eateries and that they're not as puffy and crispy as they used to be, a sad change but not a deal breaker. Now on to the entrees. My brother ordered the Bake Curry Chicken and Rice, which he loved. It was chocked full of chicken curry (possibly the same chicken curry that is served in the roti canai) on top of rice which is then covered in a layer of cheese and baked until everything is a bubbly gooey bowl of deliciousness. It's quite a bit of food as my brother was unable to finish it. I had the quintessential hainanese chicken and rice. The rice is a fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth with hints of ginger. The chicken is a mix of white and dark meat (both juicy and tender) with a sweet garlicky soy sauce poured over it. There is also a side of garlic hot sauce if you want more of a kick. I love this dish so much I could eat a whole chicken's worth of meat in one sitting. One thing I did note is that the 1st time I visited, the chicken was boneless, but this time, it wasn't. It's not a big deal, just something I noticed. So if you are in the mood for good malaysian/Singaporean cuisine but don't want to wait for a seat at those crowded and hyped up locations on 8th Avenue. Check this place out.
Good Asian restaurant with standout service! The staff is exceptional - attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond. Food quality is decent with authentic flavors, though portions could be slightly larger. Atmosphere is casual and clean, nothing fancy but comfortable. Service really makes this place shine - they truly care about the dining experience. Menu has good variety of Asian dishes. Pricing is reasonable for the area. Food was fresh and well-prepared. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the food itself, while good, doesn't quite reach excellence. Still, highly recommend for reliable Asian cuisine with outstanding service!
Ipoh Kitchen is a popular Malaysian restaurant in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. It was recommended by my relative's malaysian friend, so I assumed their dishes are quite authentic. We went there in a group of 8 so we ordered a whole spread of their signatures. Our all-time favorite is def the Grilled Satay Chicken (we tried satay beef before it wasn't as good). Our recs: - Grilled Satay Chicken - Hainanese chicken (whole) - Sizzling Black Pepper Beef - Saraug Burong - Ipoh Coffee Not recommend: - Ipoh Fried Pearl Noodle - Golden Spare Ribs In general, their dishes were indeed flavorful, yet quite oily and heavy for my liking. Better get Iced Ipoh Coffee to quench your thirst (very rich and creamy!)
I ordered for delivery to the hotel, Chicken Satay, yellow rice, and Green Curry Pork . All well prepared. The delivery was on time and the food was still hot and flavorful. There was too much liquid in my dish that made it a bit mushy but I still enjoyed the taste. The Satay was exceptional and worth the cost. If your staying in the area, definitely try it out.
