We thoroughly enjoyed our Valentines tapas at La Barra. The bartender,Andres, was attentive, personable & extremely helpful in pointing out some of his favorites on the menu. Not only were our tapas delicious, they were beautifully presented along with a lovely cava sangria!
Excellent service! Foods are delicious as always.
One of my favorite places in NYC, highly recommended. I loved the food is so good.
Wow! We would definitely go back again! The food was incredible as were the cocktails. The mojito Kenya made was shear perfection. I am a tough critic on that skill. Kenya was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us making great choices. The cod and shrimp dishes were genius!
Tonight’s meal was the best we’ve had at Little Spain. Loved the gazpacho, ensalada de espinacas, Antonio's crispy shrimp, patatas bravas, empanadillas, and more. Service was excellent. Our friendly waiter, Pablo, led us well through the menu as we ordered, and he and the rest of the team looked after us well throughout the meal. Thanks everyone.
Took my friend who was visiting from Vancouver for a snack and a drink, enjoy the bar and Andres the server was very attentive, excellent recommendations, charming. Maria the food runner amazing smile. The Anchovies bruschettas, the liquid olives, the Bacalao Croquettes all super good. Can’t wait to comeback and try more tapas
We went for my birthday just five of us. It was such a great time and the food was amazing and on point. The servers were so attentive and helpful and thank you to the manager on duty and hostess for all the assistance with our wait. It's always such a great time here and the most amazing food!
Comfortable long bar seating in the middle of the bustling Spanish Market; great choice of tapas (though a bit in the expensive side) and wine. Everything we tried was great: sensational liquid olives (loved them so much we had to order another round); very tasty and tender octopus; fresh and flavorful scallop crudo; wonderful crunchy bread and a mildly sweet flan to top it all off.
My friends and I had an amazing gastronomic experience at La Barra! The tapas were all delicious, and the croquetas completely won my heart and stomach. Absolutely delightful! We were warmly welcomed and perfectly attended by the friendly and kind Andrés, who recommended a wonderful rose wine that made everything even more enjoyable. I highly recommend it!
Tapas heaven. Liquid olive an expensive. Salty but texture exceptional. Pan con tomato good. Jamon super expensive. Churros seems but soggy by the time received. Can be bit chaotic this place... as menu different stalls. Noise levels and all. But vibe lively. Works both ways. Happy hours weekdays and Wednesday for bottle.
While exploring Mercado Little Spain in Hudson Yards, the posters promoting the liquid olive caught my eye. I love olives and a liquid olive sounded just like something I wanted to try. La Barra is a restaurant and bar in the middle of Mercado Little Spain. Since it was happy hour, it was a busy, but luckily, I was able to snag a seat at the bar. After taking a Quick Look at La Barra’s menu, I decided to order a cocktail to go with the liquid olives, which had me so intrigued! They were delicious! A burst of olive flavor immediately fills your mouth like a savory explosion. You get 2 liquid olives for $6. They gave other appetizers and entrees on the menu, which is be open to trying on my next visit. If you have a taste for some sangria and Spanish tapas, you should consider stopping by La Barra for a little slice of Spanish-inspired delight.
We decided to try this place after seeing some people's dishes, and it was an excellent decision. We tried the octopus gallega , served with creamy mashed potatoes, the octopus cooked to perfection, delicious. We also ordered red tuna with caramelized onions, and it was absolutely amazing; we loved it. We tried the non-alcoholic wine, which tasted very similar to wine. I can't drink alcohol, so I was happy. The service was excellent. The waiter was attentive, gave us recommendations, and explained the dishes perfectly. The flavor has the heart of Spain.
Food was delicious, go for the tantalizing Liquid Olives and don’t be surprised if you must have a 2nd order. Roasted onions are deliciously balanced, crispy cod fritters are traditional and well executed, mussels were so plump I should have asked where they were from, served with their delicious crusty bread and were to full for more dishes, although wanted to hang out and had the churros which were skinny and sweet ending. The wines by the glass were uninspired, wish they had more interesting wine options. Super convenient place for dinner before going to The Shed.
I really liked the food here and tried my dish and my friend's dishes. The octopus was wonderful and I could taste the olive oil on it. One friend ordered the pork check and the meat was very soft and tender. I'll say the tortilla de patatas was the most simple dish. The only downside is that the dishes are very small and you'll have to order 2 or 3 dishes per person to get satisfied. The service was friendly and the ambience is nice 👍
Convenient sit down option to sample food from many of the other stalls. The food is good, though pretty expensive for the small portions. I especially enjoyed the meatballs and the octopus. The serrano ham was pretty good, but the portion was tiny. The fried squid was a bit mushy and can be skipped.
well I think this is an overall great restaurant! Very fast service!! I love the little area here! Croquettes are FANTASTIC it’s so colourful it’s like a rainbow of beautiful flavours combined into a harmony! The mushroom rice was super funky for my taste some may like it but it tasted like a James brown song to me!
