Loved the atmosphere! I went to Juban solo and sat at the bar for a drink and some sushi. The bartender was really helpful and even tailored a cocktail for me based on my preferences. The sushi was also delicious, tasted fresh and the decor is really fun. Will def be coming back!

My fiancé and I are always looking for pockets of home (Hawaii) wherever we are, and we’re grateful to have found Juban in New York City. Not only is the food authentic and delicious (yakitori and sushi are to die for!) but the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy and the staff is like family to us. The sake selection is also on point! If you can, stop by for a drink, some skewers and the vibes.

I will try not to be biased as it’s the first time I encounter a business that shares my name, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Very intimate restaurant serving mostly smaller portions. I was a big fan of the sushi and skewers. The sushi was fresh and definitely higher quality. Many things are made in house. My wife liked the homemade Matcha cake. Service was top notch.

If I could give more stars I would! Located in Chelsea, a local favorite. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. The staff is incredibly attentive and the owner often on site. This is an amazing sushi restaurant that people travel for, we are lucky to live across the street. Juban is known for its extensive sake selection, it’s fun to have the staff choose for me, all choices are perfect. Option to sit at the bar. They have specials every night… this restaurant needs to be on your short list. Also great for large parties. Try it once and you will be a regular. ❤️

It’s a very intimate space for dinner and the cocktails are worth the price. The yakitori was alright, the meatballs are dry not very juicy like other places I tried. Mushrooms are burnt… The appetizers are great! Recommend the octopus Kara age as well as the eggplant!

I only have a few pieces of skewers and bill ran up almost $100, yikes! Problem is they give 2 of same one so if you ordered 5 skewers it’s like 10 so there you go. Same for sushi where minimum is 2 pieces of same kind. They have mini Sushi Omakase but it’s only 5 different ones and 10 in total. I think this is bad since I like to try as many different types as possible so this is something not that great here. Skewers are good but some came out cold instead of sizzling hot. Definitely not best Japanese skewers in NYC since there are many good ones including more pricy Yakitori Omakases. Also not much variety in skewers. I do like ambiance which has nice vibe and a very decorative and creative interior. I just may come back for that to try other dishes that’s not skewers or sushi. But minimum spend limit is a bit crazy for restaurant though I can’t imagine anyone under when stuff so expensive. I guess it cud be worst with other restaurants requesting 2 persons minimum, maximum dining time, or cash only. I usually stop going to restaurant with any of these requirements.

The value just isn’t there. For the price, you’d expect better quality and more portions. I’d skip this one, especially you or your hungry man has big appetite. Cocktail doesn’t look well made based on other review photos so we decide to get beer instead.

This place is cool, it's a nice interior, cool art with comfortable seating. The waiters were also stylish. The food was good, but honestly it was a giant ripoff. My friend and I had 2 carafes of sake, the cauliflower, hamachi (?) collar and the crab friend rice. This was $200 in total. The portions were small, I definitely had to eat again later. The collar was good quality probably but it was just unseasoned cooked fish. Cauliflower was kind of cheap tasting? Fried thing and mayo, I don't know that it exceeded my experience of chicken nuggets and mayo at home. Rice was the highlight, but honestly, it wasn't mind-blowing. It was a nice, even umami. So, yeah I wouldn't come back here at this price point. It just doesn't make sense.

**It’s appalling when a restaurant tries to publicly discredit and embarrass a customer. We absolutely have eaten at your restaurant before, not under a Resy reservation. But a $240 charge for an accidental no show this time? The email is completely accurate - you want to call my kid and ask? Patrons beware. I will give this restaurant 2 stars for the food being meh. However, my latest experience with the staff was horrendous. I will never dine there again. They have the absolute worst customer service and think they are way better of a restaurant then they actually are. Steer clear of this place! Not worth the money at all!

Worst restaurant I've been to in a while. Food was mediocre at best, tiiiiny portions but very pricey. The cocktails were disgusting. Tasted diluted, like they put water instead of alcohol. So we got sake for our second round. The server kept pouring our sake when our glasses weren't even empty, like they wanted us to get out. Mind you, we had very early dinner, so the restaurant was not even full.
