Tip: The food is prepared fresh, so there may be a wait, but it's worth it. Ask for extra lemon if you find the chole bhatura too salty.

Every dish is full of flavor, so fresh, and perfectly prepared. The servers are friendly and helpful. The 65 Chicken Biryani is highly recommended with a generous amount of tender Tandoori chicken pieces. Garlic Naan is excellent and we really enjoyed the Tandoori Lamb Chops served with rice and assorted vegetables. Can't wait to try more of their menu!
Dropped our granddaughter off with her uncle for the weekend and this was a spur of the moment lunch decision... An excellent decision. Spacious, immaculate dining area, pleasant service and a large menu with something for everyone (especially my vegetarian wife.) The music was a little loud and weird (covers of contemporary music all to a dance beat) but it had sort of a resort vibe so all good. The food was fantastic! We will definitely visit again when we're in Buffalo.
We ordered Chicken 555- 5 Kothu porotta- 5 Vijayawada boneless chicken biryani 4 Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani 5 Paneer biryani 5 Gulab jamun 5 Ambience is simple and clean Service is good and patient ( but took much time to get us the order) Overall nice experience
Got the boneless chicken biryana and mango lassi and was so good! Portion was big I couldn't finish it. Would definitely recommend and would be coming back when im back in Buffalo!
Very clean. Friendly and quick service. The food was wonderful. I had a vegetarian dish, my husband had Chicken Masala. I'm giving a 4 * for atmosphere because the music was a little too loud, but peppy. It was in no way offensive though. It had a nicely, ( although sparsely) decorated dining area decor.
Very flavorful food and friendly service! I brought my mom here, and the mild chicken saag was a bit too spicy for her, so she ordered a glass of milk. Then they brought out a mango lassi for us too, because maybe they felt sorry for us...? I ordered a medium spicy eggplant dish, and it was truly spicy for me. I should've gotten mild lol. Oh well, I didn't die and it tasted really good! And they brought us some extra rice too. I always go through so much rice at restaurants, I can't help it.
The food here is very good. It is different (in a good way) to the typical Indian food you will find in Buffalo as it has a more homemade (“authentic”) style and taste. Highly recommend, and is in our rotation of date night spots.
10/10. Food is delicious and the server was lovely. I only got photos of the appetizers. The main entrees smelled so good, we just dug in. I recommend the Paneer 65 for an app. Think paneer pakora, but with a flavorful, spicy twist. My only regret is not ordering more food. We'll definitely be back again.
This was my first time here and it was phenomenal. I got the Chettinadu Curry spicy and it was amazing. The service here was extremely friendly and I am looking forward to going back
This was absolutely delicious! I had a great experience at the restaurant. The staff were very kind. The music was great. And the food had fantastic flavor. I tried the samosa, garlic naan, paneer tikka malai, chicken (boneless) biryani, and vegetable kuruma. I would recommend all the dishes I tried!
An excellent place to feed your taste buds with South Indian cuisine. The food and service give a nostalgic feeling. If you miss this restaurant, then you miss something good in your lifetime. I travel nearly 90 miles to satisfy my taste buds, every single month, and whenever I have an opportunity to drive buffalo! Try Nellai Banana!
I visited Nellai Banana Leaf in Buffalo and really enjoyed the food. The taste was fresh and authentic, just like real South Indian home food. The portions were good and the staff were friendly. I especially liked the dosa and biryani. overall it is one of the best Indian restaurants in Buffalo. I will definitely come back again!
My husband and I dropped in after a movie on Christmas night. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I asked for my spice level to be mild and my husband spicy. Both of our Chicken Tikka Masala were perfect for our taste and the staff was attentive in asking if my lower spice level was alright for me. It was perfect and this was a wonderful unconventional Christmas dinner.
I eat here very frequently. This is THE BEST Indian restaurant in Buffalo. They serve very authentic food. I have tried most of the kinds of Dosas, Idli, ton of non-veg curries, veg curries, variety of breads. This place will never disappoint you! Very welcoming staff, absolutely amazing ambience with the smell of dhoop (incense) and tasty food! I always leave with full tummy and feeling like home.
Food was all amazing. Starting with the Gobi manchurian was great, we all finished it so fast! Dosas were all also very flavorful and we loved the naan and paneer butter masala. Everyone working was very nice and we got our food very fast. Overall great experience.
This was an amazing expierience! Amidst a windy storm outside; my husband and I felt so warm and welcome! The staff were so kind and the food was Hot, Fresh, and Exceptional! They Did not rush our service despite our semi late arrival (near closing time) and overall, i would have to give them an <3 11 <3 out of 10!!!! 🙌🙌
If you’re craving authentic South Indian flavors, this place is an absolute gem. The chicken biryani is incredibly aromatic—perfectly cooked rice layered with tender, juicy chicken and just the right balance of spices. Overall, the food is fresh, authentic, and prepared with care. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoy South Indian cuisine.
Banana Leaf is fantastic! The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience welcoming from start to finish. The food is absolutely delicious – authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. But don't skip dessert! The desserts here are phenomenal, and the coffee is outstanding – rich and aromatic. Great food, wonderful service, and amazing desserts and coffee. Highly recommended
Very pleasant and homely restaurant . The food is quite authentic for a WNY South Indian place . Found a connection here as the restaurant owner hails from Tirunenvelli, my ancestral district in Tamil Nadu . A CoolDesiAunty recco for sure for a well rounded Chettinad cuisine experience.
Love this place! Coming from NYC, I can say this food is 10/10 and so authentic. The service is great too.

Good atmosphere and service but am shocked at the quality of food here. I was also feeding my toddler a plain dosa and with chutney spoilt, sambar weird tasting, masala full of turmeric, I was a bit stressed if dosa was alright. Also ordered gobi 65 and it didn’t have any flavor except for being just fried battered cauliflower.
For people picking up/doing take out, I suggest checking the food prior to leaving the establishment.
