We ordered crispy calamari and fish and chips with half/half clam chowder/Veracruz fish chowder as a side dish. The half/half clam fish chowder was not on the menu but was recommended by our waitress. Also, we were concerned with previous reviews that the fried fish was too overly batter and fried thus our waitress indicated she will inform the chef to lightly fried the fish. We were not disappointed! The seafoods were fresh and perfect. And they served amazing hot off-the-oven sour dough bread! Our waitress was outstanding and knowledgeable. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Lure Fish House.

We moved to Ventura county about 6 months ago and Lure has quickly become a staple. First requested restaurant when our family comes into town. We have had pretty much everything on their menu and it never disappoints. Consistently good food. One thing we really appreciate is their kids menu. Our 18 month old usually shares our food becuase kids menus always have the same old stuff but at least they have a small filet of fresh fish which our son absolutely loves. We always appreciate anything tha isn’t chicken tenders and Mac and cheese!! Also worth noting that all the staff is really great with our son! It’s nice to feel welcome when dining out with a toddler!
Stopped in for a quick lunch. I sat at the bar. Their service was great - talkative but not in your face! I had the fish & chips there and took the cobbler to go. All was delicious. I plan to go back next time I’m in town. Definitely check them out!
Valentine's day mid afternoon. We were able to be seated right away. The waitress was attentive explained how someof the dishes were cooked. Our orders came to the table at the same time. My husband had salmon & i had swordfish. The maple glazed butternut squash was delicious i had the French fries & he had the pineapple coleslaw. The portions were good size, fish was cooked just as we wanted it to be & the sides also. The fries were made from potatoes with skin on & thinly sliced with plenty of herb & salt flavor. The meals came with sour dough bread sliced apart & plenty of butter. We did not order any dessert.
After a long day on the road (just passing through for the night), my sister and I were looking for a place that wasn't too pretentious or expensive, but with good, healthy food options and friendly vibe. We were really happy with our experience - from the service to the food to the vibe. We had one of the best side salads ever, plus a delightful charred blueberry and basil margarita (very interesting and delish!) and a type of fish we weren't familiar with - but it was SO good! perfectly cooked, seasoned, etc. Tasty sides of brussels sprouts, crispy potato cake, and pesto cauliflower, too. OMG and the fresh bread served before dinner was crusty on the outside (not chewy), soft and flavorful on the inside - we loved it. We were so full and still had leftovers! And paying the bill didn't break the bank.
We have been going to the Lure more than once a month for over 10 years. All the servers have been great and got to know us. The restraunt is very well ran. Chasers always deliver your hot food to your table; they wait for the cooks at the window and drop it immediately to the corresponding tables. Only a couple times in the many years has there ever been an issue, and the management takes care of it perfectly! A few years ago during the month of August they had made available wild sockeye salmon, I wish they would provide that again.
It took a long time for the food to come out. Because It was a busy place. But still the food was delicious. We love this place!!
This was the first time we were at the Restaurant. I tried to make Reservations an dI was told they do not make reservations for a party less than 8 people. The Hostess appreaded rather preoccupied an dconfused. I am a big guy and was seated in a Booth that was too small for me, but I managed during the meal. James our server was attentive and very helpful. The food was excellent! I ordered the King Salmon whichi s Sushi Grade and I had it cooked medium well. That was perfect. I also had the Pineapple coleslaw and the Sweet Potato Fries. My Date had the Mahi Mahi with Pineapple coleslaw, and N.E. Clam Chowder. They had a TV on near the Bar area which I could see from my location. I reccomend anyone to this Restaurant.
Love Lure Camarillo! We’ve been to this location several times. (The Ventura location is good too, but the Camarillo one is much nicer inside with decor, layout, and parking.) The fish - especially sea bass - is always fresh and cooked well. Calamari is great. I like the options they have for sides; my favorite is the potato pancakes. Always a nice meal here.

Had an amazing experience at the bar this past Sunday. The happy hour at lure is the best in town. Our bartender for the evening Lauren was amazing and knew exactly how to make a drink, very easy to talk to and makes that bar seat feel at home when you’re there. The Calamari and charbroiled oysters were divine and cooked to perfection, the tuna ponzu was my personal favorite of the night. It’s nice to come into a restaurant and feel good when you leave. I will always make it a point to stop here while in town. Thank you Lure.
Review of Lure Fish House - Camarillo I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lure Fish House in Camarillo, and I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was bustling and lively, with a welcoming nautical theme that made the space feel both elegant and comfortable. My order of the crispy fish sandwich and a house salad was an excellent choice. The sandwich was perfectly prepared—the fish was flaky and moist inside with a light, golden-brown crust that had just the right amount of crunch. It wasn't at all greasy, which can often be the case with fried fish. The accompanying house salad was fresh and crisp, providing a perfect contrast to the rich sandwich. The service was also top-notch. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. If you're looking for a great seafood meal in the area, I highly recommend checking out Lure Fish House. It’s a definite winner!
Absolutely 💯 recommended! I ordered the sea bass with Pandora and buerre blanc sauce w/capers. It was amazing! Very flavorful, tenders, juicy, and delicious. I also had the clamp chowder. It was full of clams, rich in flavor, and again, hightly recommended. I'm a fan, and I will be back!
What a pleasant surprise after shopping at the outlets. Great service, seafood was fresh and decor. Highly suggest the fish from the catch of the day selection. Rockfish was perfect and so was the linguine pasta. Will be back!
Very nice large restaurant with fresh seafood. The only reason I gave a 4 for food was because I tried something I’ve had one time in 15 plus years ago.. I wanted to try the crab cakes. They were good but your halibut is so delish it’s tuff to compete with that. Great service great staff we sat at the bar.
Lure Fish House was our first restaurant to visit the day we landed in United States. I do like the ambience, the set up and the hospitality from the staff. We had fish and chips, calamari, oysters and some other dishes. I am happy with the foods we had:)
We had an amazing dinner. The Rockfish and Cioppino were delicious. Cassie, our server was absolutely fantastic and took great care of us. Visiting from AZ and will definitely try the Scottsdale location. Looking forward to returning to Camarillo.
First time dining here, and wow we were impressed. Our favorite was the daily catch black cod, clam chowder, and both the charbroiled and fresh oysters. The only dish we were ln’t fond of was the calamari. Other than that, everything was delish! The complimentary freshly baked bread was excellent as well. Service was impeccable - from the hostess to the waiters. Interiors was nicely done, too. Ambiance is good for both family lunches and date nights. Definitely, not our last time here. Came for happy hour and it was very busy. Despite that, the servers were keeping the pace and we did t wait long to get our food. The tuna tartar, chioppino and oysters were great and I would order them again! The ceviche was a little too spicy and watered down (probably from the tomatoes) and I would skip it next time. Would come again tory the tacos and eat more chioppiono. Bread service was excellent warm sourdough- yum!
We stopped by Lure Fish House in Camarillo before heading to the mall and it was a great experience overall. The service was excellent from start to finish and the food was really good. I am a big fan of oysters and theirs were incredibly fresh, which was definitely a highlight. The ceviche was a bit on the simple side but still enjoyable. I recommend this spot if you are in the area or visiting the mall nearby. A solid choice for fresh seafood and friendly service.
Everyone in my family enjoyed the fish, but for a fish house I have to say the steak was amazing. It was extremely tender and flavorful. If you're seated outside, it can get chilly around this time of year, but we were ok once the heater was turned on. One point that should be addressed if possible is the bathroom setup. Although clean, the gaps between the sides of the door for the first stall do not provide the privacy you would expect from a bathroom making it uncomfortable for both people using the stall and people waiting for the bathroom.
Amber was great and the Fish Chowder was on point. I liked the spicy level. The charbroiled oysters were their own recipe. Honestly, I have New Orleans as the benchmark. Anywhere I go has an uphill battle. I look forward to trying other things on the menu. The ambiance was on point and the music was perfect.
We came here to celebrate a birthday and had a great dinner. This was my first visit to this location and it did not disappoint. We made a reservation since we were a party of nine. FYI, the don't make reservations for parties under eight people. They put our group in a private room Tha fit us perfectly. The service was top notch and we were well taken care of. Our server was on top of everything and made sure we had what we needed. The food was awesome. They serve nice sized portions for the price. My lobster tail was a good size and tasted delicious. It was seasoned perfectly and served with butter. My sides were also flavorful and a good portion. The children's menu fish and chips was as big as the adult fish and chips. Everyone enjoyed their food. I particularly enjoyed the calamari and thought the fried jalapeños were a good accompaniment. The bread is so good, especially when it came out hot, straight from the oven. Overall, I was very pleased with our meal and can't wait to return.

6:20 pm Saturday night and seated immediately in the enclosed outdoor patio which offers heaters and fans. Quieter than inside the packed dining area. A bit pricey for the food portions. Clam Chowder was creamy and warm bread was good. 3 meals, 2 draft beers and 1 peach lemonade. Spent $145 + tip.
Tried the Fish & Chips as a recommendation from a friend and wasn’t impressed. The fish batter was overdone and excessive for the fish portion. The fish was on the dry side but edible. I’m always up for trying Fish & Chips and unfortunately won’t be back to Lure for a second attempt.
We came here with a group of 10 for birthday at 7pm on Thu, we were told there's 50mins wait. Place looked packed and we waited about 40mins, patio seats were wide open when we arrived and that's where we were seated, I guess they didn't have enough servers. They served the bread to us pretty quickly, we were famished by then, no refills though. Appetizers came in about 10mins and our entrees took longer although they were supposed to be all seafood. Our group shared half oysters and shrimp ceviche - they were alright. I got the linguini with clams and my husband got the fish & chips - both were just ok. I think star of of the show was clam chowder although it had a weird after taste. We told one of the servers we were there for a birthday, nothing special was done, not even a birthday wish or song or dessert. For the wait, price and mediocre food, I will not be back
