Not sure what these reviewers are talking about but I got a fish and shrimp burrito the other day and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The staff helping me were very friendly and helpful. The food portions were actually overwhelming and I eat quite a bit haha. The atmosphere is pretty top notch and reminda me if a nice sit down restaurant without being pretentious. The prices are on the higher side but what do you expect from a quick high quantity meal?! All in all I'd recommended this place to anyone with full confidence. 🤘✌️

Any time I'm in California I will go out of my way to come to any of Spencer MacKenzie's locations. Their sauces are unbelievably good and their prices are super reasonable along with a great selection of beer. They are the perfect fish taco shop!

Food was delicious. The wonton, grilled fish tacos & tempura fish tacos were all very tasty. All of the girls there were very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed and that it was to my liking. Atmosphere could have been better if there were more customers. Loved that country music was being played!

Wonderful restaurant! The food was delicious and the food came out quickly. I ordered the "Parker" and I would definitely recommend it. The Spencer Mackenzie sauce is very good and you can buy it standalone in bottles. The prices were also great for a seafood restaurant in 2023.

I'm literally still here eating. I ordered my food, went to the restroom to wash my hands, and by the time I came out, my clam chowder/fish & chips were already hot and ready to eat! Very friendly staff! Outside/pet friendly seating, which is great, because I have a dog with me right now. And of course, the food is great! Definitely come check these guys out.

They always kill it on the seafood burrito! The portion size is big but it turns into two meals for me. It's great flavor on its own but elevated with a bit of their hot sauce!

Great service. Fish and shrimp was fresh. The burrito I had was amazing. Very filling and they have every type of sauce you need. Their tartar sauce was different but amazing. Fries were seasoned to perfection.

This place has turned itself around and you should definitely give it another shot if you werent too impressed after the grand opening awhile back. We were told new managers were brought in to change things up and they've done a great job. Blackened salmon salad is one of my favorites, and the veggie shrimp dish was excellent too. Service was friendly and fast.

Fantastic Fish Tacos! A+++! The grilled fish was moist and tasty and any of the sauces pair so well! Absolutely delicious! Alyssa was an excellent server! Super cool restaurant! Love the decor! I came all the way from San Diego to try these famous tacos and it was well worth the trip!! Thank you Spencer Makenzie's!!

Easily one of the best food spots in Ventura county. Whether the Ventura or Camarillo location, you're sure to get amazing food. The Caribbean blaze sauce is killer.

Great staff - awesome service. The food is quite tasty and the beverages hit the spot. The shrimp cocktail & street tacos are bomb. Love the outside seating with big screen TVs too... We will be back!

Loved coming to this restaurant, the shrimp tacos are so delicious. And their fish and chips yummy. Nice place to eat and kick back for a bit. Give them a try 😉

The Parmesan chicken taco are absolutely delicious. Very juicy and flavorful. The shrimp wontons are good too. Happy hour prices. The tacos 3.25$ and wonton's .75c

Food is awesome, always. The staff is incredibly friendly. They have solid beers on draft at a good price. My favorite is the grilled fish taco Brooklyn style and the ahi pocket. The fish and chips I also highly recommend. Glad Camarillo has one so I don't have to drive to Ventura anymore to enjoy their food.

This place is incredible. I know this is going to sound like a cheap line but this is the best fish and chips joint I have ever had. Been to England and locally we love brophy bros. But this place was next level. Tempura batter folks for the lock!

Very nice aesthetic and seating, I really liked the ocean vibes. From what I can tell, the staff has a lot of personality. The waitress was super considerate and took the time to make sure we got what we needed. Food didn't take long to get to our table. The fish taco was everything I needed it to be, especially once I put some sauce on it. Fries were really good too. This is total comfort food. 😄

Great taco's!! On Tuesday's a good discount as well. I highly recommend the carne asada and shredded chicken in crunchy parmesan shells. Taco's that is. Their clam chowder is nice, especially when they make a fresh batch up! Tasty and warms you right up. Service was so fast we hardly had time to find a table! 😁😁

We are lucky to live right around the corner from Spencer Makenzie's. The fish is super fresh, as well as the slaw. The tartar sauce is to die for! I always get the fish and chips, although the fries are admittedly mediocre. The staff is always friendly and positive, with music to match. The atmosphere is very chill and has good vibes.

They have really good tacos here! I love coming in Tuesdays for Taco Tuesday and I get three Parmesan hard shell tacos with chicken and they’re so good every time. And the wontons! They have cream cheese wontons with shrimp or jalapeno inside- which are like $.75. Ents each in happy hour. The service is always friendly and helpful, another one of my go to places for when I want something delicious but don’t want to cook

They really do have amazing fish tacos. I always get the batter fried ones. Shrimp tacos and the street carne asada tacos are also delicious. Great service. Love the atmosphere. I feel like I am in a Cantina in Florida where I used to live.

Went during my lunch break with coworkers. They offer dine-in and patio seating. Great customer service, friendly and workers seemed to all work well and as a team/positive vibes. We waited for less than 5 minutes and our orders started coming out. I ordered the fish and chips, substituted the chips for a spring salad and got an order of their zucchini sticks. It was yummy to look at and tasted good going down to my tummy!!! Plus good tartar sauce. Finished in time to return to work, with time to spare for little chit chat.

The quesadillas are $4.95 they taste amazing 👏, battered fish tacos $6.95, and my favorite the shrimp cocktail $10.95. I give the restaurant 5 stars because the foods amazing and the staff and service is great.

The michelada was great and service was great up until the end when I had to get up and find our waitress and ask for a to-go box as well as our check. They didn’t seem busy, but she didn’t come back asking to refill waters or offer to box up our meals. We did appreciate that they gave us a kids menu right away and the food came out fast. When we got up to pay, they didn’t give us our receipt, you’re just handed a pay station to tap your credit card, only to find out there’s a 3% service charge on credit but not on debit (which we would’ve used in hind sight). We’ll still come back though.

Absolutely love this location! The foods always on point and delicious and their customer service is amazing! I have to give special thanks to the young man that helped us today Andy, he was so energetic, happy to help and just overall awesome! I needed to stay in the car due to my toddler and asked if I could order and pay over the phone which he gladly did and even came outside to bring my food to me in my car! He's definitely got what it takes to be in customer service! Thank you guys again, will always come back here!

This location is very nice, I had lunch here with a friend and had the mixed tempura veggies, a cup of clam chowder, a fish and shrimp burrito (Brooklyn style) and a fish taco (Brooklyn style). The food was awesome, big fan of all listed and the portions are huge(I had leftovers equivalent to 3rd meal). Reccomend Brooklyn style as it has just a teeny tiny kick, and if you dont want tartar by itself.

D

Had the shrimp cocktail and the world famous fish taco (tempura style). Very good very fresh and refreshing. The sauce on the fish was some of the best I've ever had.

Great place to try sushi. The raw fish was good quality. The dumplings were missing 5 spice and ground shrimp to be authentic, but it was tasty in it's own kind of Polish way. The ramen was not entirely authentic with the broth but the ingredients were pretty spot on and taste. If I am not mistaken there were 3 different types of seaweed in it. Great experience none the less :)

Crazy cool atmosphere, the first time in 5 years of being stationed here where it felt like home. Music was on point, staff were fantastic, food was fresh and out quickly. Place was clean and welcoming. Even saw a family praying before their meal which I thought was heartwarming. Will be back again with more friends. Food we got for the first time was the world famous fish taco w/o the sauce due to ingredients and being allergic. 7/10 and the chicken strips and fries as a safe bet. 6/10. Want to try more menu items for sure and their drink selection. Had some cool brews and hats for sale. Not sure if the team member shirts are for sale but they look cool. Payed $29 including tip for 2 people and that feels pretty average for most places around here. They also have outdoor seating and a bar seating area. Takeout was popping off while we were there I think I saw at least 7 different people get take out during the 50min we were there.

My favorite fish taco in all of Ventura and Los Angeles County! There are a lot of other great menu options but I can’t help but order the world famous fish taco every time. They make their own salsas and special sauce, the tacos are large and a great value. They have half price tacos Monday-Thursday from 3-5pm and a happy hour Monday-Friday 3-6pm. The servers are attentive and so awesome, the restaurant is clean and it’s a great atmosphere. The patio is great and there are heaters for the cooler weather as well as a large table with the ability to have a fire.

Had a to go ahi taco and it was an awesome lunch. The fish was prep perfect. The way the fish tasted its not the usual kinda fish that had that smell in it. The texture was like chicken meat. I didn't even ask for any sauce but it was still delicious. It had a bit sauce in it with zing taste. All in all two thumbs up as always.

Where to start..... Spencer's has always been a good choice for fish tacos and seafood for me. They never failed to deliver and this new location was exactly what I expected from a Spencer's restaurant. I live in camarillo and when I heard the news that a new Spencer's was opening in Carmen Dr. My mouth started to water. I just couldn't wait! Now that it has opened I waited a couple of weeks so that the Grand Opening would not get in the way of my dining experience (such as being too busy for my liking or the possibility of having bad service due to the amount of people). Now that I had the pleasure to eat here for the first time this past Sunday, I must say that it wss just a wonderful experience. The food was awesome and the staff was friendly and attentive. I know there are some negative reviews regarding staff and possibly some food, but now that the grand opening is over, the staff has room to breathe and the food has time cook with perfection. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile and our waiter took our drink orders right away. We started out with chips and salsa for ur appetizer. The chips were good and seemed to be made fresh in house. The salsa was good and not too spicey. Just good flavor and mild heat. I then ordered the fish and shrimp burrito...man was this massive! It truly is worth the money! If you have a big appetite, then then this burrito is for you. The quality was NOT sacrificed for quantity. This beast of a burrito was loaded with a good amount of fish and shrimp. It was tasty and filling. I will dedefinite order again. Then we also ordered the fish tacos and a parmesan fosh taco. These were just as delicious as I would expect from Spencer's. The sauces they have for the tacos are equally delucious. Each sauce adding a unique flavor with every bite. I must say that I am very happy to have a Spencer's in my neighborhood. It was a must have in this area. I greatly recommend this place. It is a must try. This place gets 5 starts from me! Keep up the great work and congratulations on your new location.

I just got done with my second trip to thier Camarillo location. Both visits were awesome!! The food here for a great, the staff is wonderful, the service is quick, and it has a nice laid back feel to it. Their fish tacos are great, as are the fish and chips. It all starts with service and when you are greeted warmly and made to feel like part of the family you know you are going to have a great dinner. Fish tacos, Shrimp tacos and Shrimp and Fish Burrito were all outstanding and the three different hot sauces had my fam all debating which one was best. I kept it simple with fish and chips and wasn’t disappointed. We also enjoyed trying a couple local craft beers and the waitresses did a great job matching our palates. All in all my only question is… when you all coming to Phoenix. :)

Best place to eat fish tacos during happy hour 3pm-5pm. Order the battered fish tacos with no cabbage extra bell peppers and the Spencer sauce on the side. Squeeze some Lime on each taco and add the 3 hot sauces on top of the taco and enjoy. If you would like to challenge me for a taco contest. Message me. The jalapeño cream cheese wontons are delicious but unfortunately they just went up on price. Check out their happy hour… you won’t be disappointed. They also have another location in Ventura by the beach 🏝. Enjoy 🤙🏼 🌮

The place shares free parking spaces with the other establishments in the Carmen Plaza. There is an indoor and an outdoor seating. There's a lot of ambient noise indoors due to the piped-in background music and the normal chatter of the patrons but you have the option to watch sports shows located at overhead area of the bar. The bar serves a good selection of local brews on tap, bottled beer, beer in can, and sodas. Good indoor lighting, not very dark. Menu selection is varied. On each of their tables, you'll have a selection of their in-house hot sauces of three different levels of spiciness plus the ever-present ketchup. One order of their so-called world famous fish taco is not enough to fill you but two orders might be too much, though an order of their humongous grilled fish and shrimp burrito is more than enough. Wifey loved her burrito, by the way. Free-refill soda is a little less than 3 bucks. Menu prices -- a little on the high side. The Men's restroom is clean and well-lighted with an option to dry hands by paper towel or by air. Their ventilation system is quite good, too, as wife and I noticed that our clothes didn't smell like food when we left.

I
Iam Poopoo

The food here is great! The “Business Burrito” Brooklyn style is by far the best bang for your buck. It’s fully loaded and filling. The ceviche was more like a radish, cucumber and bell pepper salad there was very little shrimp and it was over all very bland for a “ceviche.” Service here was over all 10 of 10. Staff bussed tables as soon a clients left.

K
Kassidee Valenti

I liked this place. The sweet chile sauce is definitely what makes the fish taco so delicious. I was disappointed by the fries, so won't order those again. It's a little bit pricey for what you get, in my opinion. 1 taco, fries, and a drink put me out 15 bucks.

J
Joseph Bartnicki

I love there fish tacos and there fish and shrimp burrito. It's one of the best I've ever had. The service is good and friendly and they have local beer. I would give it 5 stars but the one in Ventura seems slightly better but maybe it's just the atmosphere.

B
B C

The fish and chips were great! The menu list the fries at "seasoned", but fortunately you hardly taste the seasoning at all. Lost one star in the rating because they have Pepsi, which, aside from that it would have been nice to have a Coke with the meal, always makes me concerned about the possibility of other ingredients chosen on price.

Heard about this on the radio and decided to stop by. I wasn't disappointed. I tried the fish tacos both fried and grilled Brooklyn style. It was tasty and delicious and lived up to the hype. I loved the grilled much more than the fried. It is located same shopping plaza as Traders Joe. A side note, if you are not into avocado, skip it because that is an additional $1.25 charge. Overall, love the place and will definitely visit again.

I really enjoy their Ventura location and didn’t even realize they had another spot in Camarillo until recently. The main difference is the outdoor beach vibe in Ventura, which makes for a fantastic atmosphere—bright, breezy, and relaxed. It was a nice surprise to find a different setting, but just as enjoyable. Came with a few friends, and since we weren’t quite sure what to order, we went with a smorgasbord—Zucchini Tempura, Parmesan-crusted tacos (one shredded chicken, one ground beef), a grilled fish taco, and fish and chips! We all shared the fish and chips and zucchini, while I had the grilled fish taco—goodness, it was one of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had! I forgot how delicious it was. Our server was quick and friendly, making the experience even better. The inside ambiance had that chill beach vibe, perfect for relaxing. They also offer a ton of great happy hour specials, which makes it even more appealing. I can see this place getting pretty busy during the evening hours, especially on weekends with some lively partying.

Nice place for hanging out and getting fish tacos. We had their tempura battered fish taco and also the seared ahi tuna fish taco. I really like the big portion but not sure one taco matches the price of $7.60. The tempura battered taco was my favorite and not greasy. Both had cabbage and some creamy sauce and the tempura fish came with lime. The ahi taco had a spicy sweet chili sauce kick to it. I definitely needed the cabbage on that one. I would come here on Happy Hour if I lived closer, but I don’t lol.

My buddy and I were actually going to the Greek restaurant next to them but we decided to give Spencer’s a try. We read their reviews and wanted to see if they were actually as good as people claimed. Staff was wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and patient with two guys who had never been there. The atmosphere was okay, their music was a little too loud for my taste. The place looked clean and the men’s restroom was clean. I ordered an ahi taco, clam chowder and their famous shrimp and fish tacos. The clam chowder was delightful and it was perfect for this cold weather. The ahi taco was my favorite (staff suggested) and would definitely order again. The burrito had plenty of fish and not too much shrimp but it was still good, not great like I read so many reviews about, my buddy said the fish wasn’t warm but cold. Overall, we had a great time here and did live their food. Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Price Point ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cleanliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good tasting fish tacos but they are a little pricey. About 9 dollars for one fish taco. They have 3 amazing sauces to go with your taco. The habanero one was my favorite.

Very kind staff and great food! The burrito and fish tacos were very good, and the outdoor seating has heaters so it doesn't get too chilly. A great, casual place.

A bit pricey but overall good food and attentive service. Not a bunch of immature kids but you can tell they cared about doing good. I'll be back. Good beers too

Waiters are stressed but nice on every way. This is a beach place and don't wear a tie plan on tv sports and you'll have a good time. The atmosphere is nice and understated.

After four visits, this place seems to be hit and miss. Sometimes there is friendly, accurate service and the food is really good. Sometimes the service is cranky and flaky and the food is cold, missing part of the order, or just not that good. When it's good the fish and shrimp tacos are a good bet.

I really want to give this place 5 stars across the board but I just can’t. I come here with my family once every couple of weeks because they love the food. We usually dine in and we are greeted at the front and we are told to take a seat anywhere however, the empty tables are usually still dirty from previous customers. When we do finally locate a clean table we are given menus and sometimes our order is taken in a timely manner. Once our food is brought to our table that’s where the staff interaction with us stops as they no longer tend to our table for the rest of our dining experience (happens every visit). The staff is often chatting with each other or not looking up and we usually have to go to the register to ask for refills etc. and they never ask if we need anything. When we are finished with our meal again, we have to go up to the register to ask for our check because they never come back to our table. We have been coming here for the past year and the food is great but we are hoping that our dine in experience will one day improve.

Interesting! That's the word I would use for this place. Home of the World's Famous Fish Taco... that's questionable. I'm not sure what made them known for their fish tacos but they were just ok. I absolutely hate when restaurants don't have any direction and this location we couldn't even find the door. The only drink that was not straight beer or non-alcoholic was a Margarita beer (not sure the specifics of it) but they were out of it so I'll never know. My husband and I went for a mini date night and we were thinking about going to a Mexican place down the street but we saw Home of the World's Famous Fish Taco and my husband loves fish tacos so why not. Unfortunately, for about $6 or $7 you get 1 taco (no sides or anything special) and sadly didn't have much of a flavor and enough slaw to have leftovers. Also, the menu had regular tacos or you could make it Brooklyn style (which means that it's the regular taco with their special sauce that was sitting on the table.) Now why would I get it Brooklyn style if the sauce is sitting right in front of me on the table? Seems pointless to be on the menu and for servers to ask. But if you decide to go and try for yourself definitely try the sauces... there wasn't one that I didn't like (I dipped my fries in them). After we were finished eating the server asked how was everything and did it live up to the hype? We didn't know exactly what she meant because we've never heard of this establishment and we didn't really understand the sign. Also, this place looked like a sports bar and was playing old pop, reggae, and Spanish music. I was super confused and probably will not go back just because atmosphere is everything to me when it comes to dining. All of the staff that we encountered was super nice. I just think this place is confusing.

I come here every now and then; the food is delicious. I am disappointed bc I was here with my son last weekend. There was a young purple-haired employee kid who was being a complete punk. There was a big party of around 7 people ahead of me who waited like 10 mins before they could order (2 other people who were in line actually ended up leaving). When the party asked if they could order, that kid started giving them attitude. Totally uncalled for. I hope management addresses this.

If you want authentic Mexican burrito, this is NOT the place. This place has white man's burritos and tacos which I can never get used to. I ordered the Business burrito and it tasted like the breakfast burrito with fries and shrimp. You need a lot of their home made sauce to enjoy.. Nice place though.

Heard great things about this place so I decided to try it. Had one grilled and one fried. The grilled fish had no flavor but it was fresh. The fried had more batter than anything. The tacos were more cabbage than anything. The sauce was a dollop if that and was a little too sweet and because it was too little the taco had no flavor then all the flavor in a half bite of the end. The tortilla was cold and not good. Would not come back here. The price is too high for what they offer.

S

Overrated. Got two fish tacos, Brooklyn style, one fried, one grilled. Grilled fish was lost in all the veg, pretty flavorless, although well cooked and seemed decent quality. Fried one overall was better but the fish is well over cooked and just kinda mushed by the end of it. Sauce is too sweet for me as well. Lotta veg which is nice. Also tortilla was terrible, seemed stale.

I highly recommend trying the food here. The atmosphere is good. However, there are issues when it comes to service. Some days are better than others, depending on how busy the place gets. The team on service becomes disorganized when there are too many customers at once. Twice I've been at Spencer's during diner service to get food and twice I've been forgotten after I've placed my order. Both times, my food was waiting on the table and the service team never bothered to check for me, nor did they ever call out my name to look for me when the food was ready. I was there at their take-out bench waiting. Each time, the team took about 30 minutes before the team noticed their mistake. My food had already been prepared and forgotten on the island table at the center of their bar. Both times, they sent me off without acknowledging the mistake. There won't be a third time for me, won't be going back for take-out anymore. On the other hand, if you are visiting this place during their slower hours and is dining in; you may get one of the best food experience in town. The food at Spencer's is delicious.

This was my first time eating here. Our waiter was very friendly and explained the menu to us. On Friday, My wife & I go out for a happy hour. Not a place for Happy Hour. There is no protein-based food on the happy hour menu. I ordered the fish and shrimp burrito. It was very fresh and flavorful. She contains fried chicken strips and french fries. That killed the dining experience. It was overcooked, and the fries were OK. I base my rating on the first impression of this spot. I will give it another chance someday.

I loved that it has a sports bar vibe, they have two large screens outside to watch sports. Really cute patio. The ambiance was actually not bad with the music at night. Speaking of the food, we opted for a grilled salmon salad (came w two dressings) and a fish and shrimp burrito (w hot sauces) to share. Salmon salad was good, even though they almost forgot to give us the salmon, but luckily, they remembered that at the end. The sauces for both the salad and burrito were delish, which really added flavors to both dishes. The issue I had was also the sauces, I felt like I needed to constantly use lots of sauces, especially the burrito, otherwise it would be pretty flavorless. Another thing annoying me was the incorrect business hours, Yelp shows they close at 8:30, while they told us they close at 8:00 on Sundays. Cons: No COVID safety protocols. The staff just didn't care to wear their masks properly I guess. Overall, average food and def on the pricey side. The experience wasn't great. Most staff seemed a bit absent-minded since it was close to closing time. The sauces were good though.

I came here to see what this “world famous” food was about. I ordered the fish burrito. It looked so bland and white. White fish, white tortilla, white cabbage, white rice. It had no flavor. I didn’t like their sauces at all. I was expecting pico de gallo salsa or something. Nope. Squeeze tubes of sugary sauces. A mix of Tabasco, bbq sauce, and grape jelly.

S
Savannah Geist

Not as great as I remember. Always been a ventura staple but I think they changed their recipes. I always order Shredded chicken tacos but this last time it seemed like pork. And it was really dry.

G
Gregory Cavallaro

The food was nothing special - I ordered two tacos (el pasteur and something with shrimp IIRC) and it didn't flow flavor wise - cabbage and other veggies were sharp in flavor compared to the main show, and they weren't shopped finely enough IMHO. The hot sauce was good, but overall I expected a better prepped and prepared taco for the price. I ate two and could have easily eaten 4 more, and I'm not a big guy.

Fish & Calmari tacos were great. They get an 4/5 rating. But, DON'T order the Asada street tocas unless you like blan/no-flavored steak meat. These get a 1/5 on these because they were a total disappointment, the meat had Zero flavor! The service was good. So, thier people get a 5/5. Therefore, my overall rating of this dinning experience is a 2/5 stars. Going out for dinner should always be something more special then just eating something thats been winged together at home with whats left in the fridge. My suggestion: Come up with some form of marinade (ANY) for serving Asada (Steak) meat street tacos. Cali has way too many other street taco places to choose from to be serving up a hard FAIL in the domain of street tacos. Fix this ASAP!

Edward Castro

I had high expectations after visiting the Ventura location, but fish & shrimp burrito that I had was just bad. Way too much cabbage, the tortilla was not folded right and proportions of the fish and shrimp were just off. I feel I overpaid for the lack of qualify... and won't be coming back here.

Sarah Kaufmann

This location is just ok. Went for lunch today and the food was just bleh today. We had fish and chips and an ahi pocket. The fish and chips were more batter then fish and the fries were over salted. The ahi pocket didn’t taste fresh and had little flavor. The cashier was more interested in talking to her coworker about another coworker then she was with taking orders. I love the ventura location, food is always great there. Not sure if we just went to the Camarillo on an off day but it was very disappointing today.

Disappointed!!! I ordered their famous fish tacos . Only order 1 grilled fish taco. My order came and the fish is not grilled at all. I thought there’s no fish on the taco coz the taco is loaded with cabbage. Very DISAPPOINTING 👎 There store sign is misleading ! Be aware .

The "carne asada" looks and tastes like ground beef, not steak like you would imagine especially for an $11 burrito. The grilled shrimp doesn't seem grilled if you can see the pictures. It looks like it's steamed and it tastes like it. Pink lemonade was decent the atmosphere is cute and the employee was friendly. The shrimp tempura Taco was good when you add the fire chili sauce from the bottle. Fris were okay better than fast food. All in all it's too expensive for what you get and I don't think we'll be back. At least with the Ventura location you get a nice Ocean breeze. I think their food is better also.

I've gotten takeout for lunch before, and it was decent. This time I decided to stop by after work for dinner and I was disappointed by the dine in experience. The flavor profile of the food was pretty bland and basic. Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible( except the fries) it just lacked flavor. The fries were hollow and over cooked, you can tell by the picture. After being greeted by the host, we were sat with some menus, but it took 15 minutes for a server to come up and take our order. Since it was taco, Tuesday, we tried out the Asada tacos, it was meh, nothing too impressive but not a bad deal for the price. We also ordered two Pacifico pints and for whatever reason they did not charge us the three dollar pint that was advertised. Not a huge deal but annoying. The saving grace was definitely the sauces that they offer, they are all pretty flavorful, but any bite without the sauce is bland. It's not a bad spot for takeout during the lunch break, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to dining. Everybody else that was seated after us was approached promptly and have their order taken. It seems like we were the only table that was bypassed. People were already halfway through their meal when we were barely about to put in our order. Not sure if they forgot about us or what.

Very Poor Service! Only one other customer in dining room. We were told to find any seat. After ten minutes we walked out. No offer of: menu, no water, no flat wear and no greeting. We watched as our waitress, a blonde girl with a ponytail, giggled and stood near the kitchen eating a sandwich and chatting with a dark haired girl. She was oblivious, and in no rush and completely unconcerned about her customers. Sad, if I was the owner, I'd be furious. But, this apparently is the norm here.

Well... I'm not really big on giving 1 stars... I always try to find something good about a place but really the only good thing was the beer on tap that day. My calamari was something I could've microwaved at home, fish tacos were "so-so", flavorless. Don't waste your money on chips and salsa. The quesadilla for my daughter was bleh. Just really was not what I expected... Bummed to say the least!

If I could give no stars I would. Been here 2 times. Once when 1st opened and again about 6 months later. Very expensive for what u get. 3 street tacos is almost 9 dollars. Nothing with it. Just 3 tiny tacos. I had fish n choos and the fish was like dripping in grease. The were not even hot just barley warm. Gross... The coleslaw was old. The purple cabbage was turning the light green cabbage purple. It smelled bad! The waitress said oh that's just how it is. Really I'm in my fifties and that is not how it's supposed to be its OLD! The 2 guys behind us got a bath when their waitress dropped their drinks on them and their food. They had to move to a new table. I give them 3 to 6 months.

First time excited to try Halibut and chips. Got there around 4:30. Only one table with customers 2 outside. Went in asked if we order inside or outside. Girl said find table outside and server will come. There were 4 tables outside with various left over drinks and other stuff. Sat for 15 minutes no one came out. Tables still not bussed. Went back in same girl and said it’s been over 15 minutes. She said oh sorry I forgot. There were 4 other staff doing nothing but talking and laughing. Server came took order for both of us. Brought our drinks. A few minutes later he brought my Halibut and Chips. He didn’t bring my friends fish and chips. He didn’t bring me a fork for coleslaw. Waited 5 minutes still no meal for my friend and no fork. Went back in and asked for fork and where my friends fish and chips were. He handed me a fork and said “Oh your friend wand halibut and chips too? I said No, she ordered just regular fish and chips. He finally brought food for her. My halibut was the worst skinny piece of fish with at least a half of inch of batter. It was terrible I didn’t even finish I piece. The fry’s were soggy. This place is a bunch of young kids who have no idea about customer service, let alone quality sea food. And how can you mess up fish and chips. We will never go to this place again. One star is an over rating for the service, the food, and the lack of cleanliness! Very sad!

C

I order 2 of the world famous fish tacos for $8 each thinking they would be good and I bit into a hard dry piece of fish that was supposed to be grilled. I would like to be refunded in full and will not be returning to this location! Stick to Ventura!

M
Mikel Gonzo

Worlds famous, I think not. Expensive for a fish taco with no flavor. Most of fish taco is cabbage and You have to add the sauce constantly to get any type of flavor. Home made Michelada was not flavorful as well. Customer service was the only good thing about this place.

B
Brett Kominek

This place is going down hill. I convinced my family to go here instead of snapper jacks and was embarrassed by the food. The ceviche costs 10 dollars and just tastes like a bunch of bell pepper (which it pretty much was) . The fish and shrimp burrito had a very minimal amount of fish .I dont like fish but I used to think that burrito was worth eating it. There was no positive to this experience . We will not be coming back. We are not picky people at all and couldn't believe what a disappointment the food was.

M

Fish & chips were soaked in grease and smelt nasty. No cream cheese in the wontons, it says locally caught halibut but local to where(not here) & how many years ago did you guys catch it?

I’ve been eating the same burrito order since 2018 and the quality has been on a continuous slide. This past Saturday 3/29/25 the burrito was so awful I have resolved to never return. It was essentially an El Paso tortilla with dry fish, a few shrimp and an over serving of cabbage filler. I ordered it Brooklyn style but it was nothing like the burritos of old. I used to rant and rave and recommend this to friends and visitors. I cannot any longer. $37 dollars for 2 dry burritos is egregious. Mind you this is after a 10 mile trail run when my standards for what are ‘good’ are near their absolute minimum.

Eaten here multiple times . This last time it was awful. The employee was rude. The food was awful, and took 45 minutes to get the food once ordered and it was not crowded there to of taken so long. This location is the one on Thompson Ave in ventura

This was my first time coming here and I was very disappointed with the food. Once I got my order, it was cold, did it have any flavor the fish was a steal. Plus the drinks were horrible. Waste of $50!!!!!! I don't recommend this restaurant.

Raw fish and chips. Only saw our server when she took our order and give us the check. Asked some guy employee for ketchup and he never came back. I had to get up and ask someone else for it. Worst service ever. The food wasn't any better. I actually walked out and left the food there with my husband so he could pay the check for food I didn't eat. Never will I go back again.
