We had dinner at Clandestine last night. Macda “Mac” served us in the private room, near the bagno. That was THE best culinary experience we’ve had in Italy our entire trip (Lake Como, Milan, mRome, Florence, Pisa, Sienna, San Gimignano, and Cinque Terra). Topped off with the most unique dessert I’ve had in Italy: pesche e mango 🥭!

This cantina was recommended by our host in Genova as one of the closest to our apartments, and we didn't expect much, but it surpassed all our expectations and was the most perfect dinner in our 3-weeks journey in Italy! Thanks to unusual heat, we didn't ask for much food, and spent only ~60 Eur for a family of three, with two glasses of wine, but it cost every cent and even more! We were so excited by musels, that we wanted to come back in the evening for more, but unfortunately it was Monday, when they serve only for dinners until 15-00. Hope we'll be back for more!

Great meal. Made a reservation hoping to sit outside but all tables were taken when we arrived. So we were seated in the mostly empty dining room (see video). Menu is on a portable chalk board in both English and Italian. We split the anchovy salad which they helpfully split in the kitchen. The fish was tasty and not too strong and the vegetables tasted like they came straight from the garden. The filet with fondue and truffle was enormous and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive.

I didn't have a reservation but they seated me in a few minutes. Amuse Bouchè of Chicken Liver & Cucumber Tartlet, Steak Tartare, Saboyan Cream and Spring Truffle with Ligurian Foccacia, Swordfish Ravioli with Escarole, Olives and Pinenuts, Ligurian-style Rabbit & Spinach. Excellent. Recommend!

Very light (one primo each and a shared dessert) but very tasty lunch in the heart of Genoa in a very authentic place. We had pansotti (local ravioli but better) in a walnut sauce and paccheri with a pistachio pesto. We shared a slice of red berries jam pie (delicious). Next to us we had a couple of friends who were locals and regulars. They gave us lots of tips on what to do in Genoa and confirmed our impression that this place is a local gem. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Me and my father had a wonderful dinner here yesterday. The food is of very high quality and the service is excellent. The waiters are very welcoming and explained all the special dishes. A small appetiser is offered by the restaurant as a greeting. The restaurant is located in the historic centre of the city and its interiors are elegant and rustic, reflecting the atmosphere of the historic city itself! Needless to say I would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy an excellent dinner in a relaxed atmosphere!

La Cucina Clandestina is a restaurant located in Genoa city centre, easy to reach from via XXV Aprile. The interior design is a very nice mixture of old bricks and modern paintings. The menu offers typical Ligurian food but also some modern/international proposals. The staff is very progressive and prepared. This time I won’t give the full 5 stars because we had to wait quite long time for dessert and the bill (I must say that the place was fully booked) but it was a very nice experience and I recommend this place.
