As soon as I went in, the owner and waiter were so friendly, they talked to us like we were long lost friends. They were so sweet and thoughtful they picked out a perfect wine for us and gave free tiramisu. As for the food, it was simply amazing! Give this place a try, it’s definitely worth it.

This place is a hidden gem my family discovered a couple years ago. Whenever we visit LA area we make it to Spumonis at least once. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. I was so impressed that the owner remembered us, where we were from, and our orders from 2 yrs ago.

This restuarant is so little and unassuming, but it has such a warm feeling once youre inside. The staff is so sweet and kind, very attentive and caring. The menu is short, but thats because they know what theyre doing everything we ordered was amazing and fresh. They make me feel like im spending time at a beloved family friend's house and not at some random restuarant i went to because i happened to be in LA. It was such a great experience, we talked about how much we loved the waiter all the way back home 6 hours away lol. The food was amazing and the tiramisu was so fluffy.

Went in today for some chicken parm and garlic bread both were so good and the portions were awesome. Great service, was offered water while I waited for my takeout and the complimentary tiramisu - which was so tasty. Highly recommend. Will be back again

Everything was perfect, foods were worth the price, the waiter was a bit creepy to my family. He cut up 3 slices of pizza on our tray and gave it to each of us and always refilled it when we finished our slices. SPUMONI RESTAURANT is intimate, delicious, and family run. We have been dining here for years. It's like a special dinner at Nonna's, with no dishes to do. (Nonna is Italian for Grandma.) The owner and maitre d, Vasik, remembers regulars, down to details like: Who eats cooked carrots and who doesn't? Who's a vegan? Who needs gluten free? And what your guests ordered last time. Meals are prepared southern Italian style. Their dishes are full-bodied, large, and delicious. As a starter, olive tapenade and warm cubes of house baked "country bread" are served. But, be careful, this delicious finger food can be quite filling. Gluten-free salads, entrees, and desserts are offered. If possible, the chef will adjust his recipes to your dietary requirements. For example: When dining with our family, we bring in a gluten-free French bread which the chef slices then heats on foil in their oven. It is served with the house made, vegan/gluten free olive tapenade. For dinner, my wife and I usually order the Caprice Salad (sundried tomatoes, slivered almonds, leaf lettuce, light Italian dressing) and have it split. On her half, shredded Parmesan cheese is sprinkled at the table. Her favorite is the delicious, linguine el pesto. (pine nuts, pesto, and linguine pasta) Mine is rigatoni pasta served in their rich, vegan, garlic, marinara sauce. Often, I bring a vegan meat analog in a sealed package. Sometimes it's "meatballs, or chicken slices, or shrimp or spicy Italian sausage." The kitchen, using a separate pan, lightly fries the vegan meat analogs, with a selection of fresh vegetables. then smothers them in their elegant, delightfully garlic, marinara sauce. For dessert, a free serving of a scrumptious tiramisu. According to my wife, it's surprisingly light and wonderful. No vegan dessert is offered. See, just as at Nonna's: everyone is very special. STUFF: Limited outdoor seating on the boulevard is available. Everything is wheelchair accessible. Free parking behind the restaurant is easily accessible through their rear entrance. The restrooms are located near this entrance. Metered parking is usually available on Ventura Boulevard.

My wife and I along with our 2 daughters were there a week ago and had such a lovely experience. Food was excellent. generous portions (we all took home leftovers that made for a delicious lunch the next day). the restaurant was small and charming. Even though we all enjoyed our food, the best part of the experience was the service. the wait staff were excellent and the owner was unbelievably charming and kind, going out of his way to make conversation and make us feel welcome (we're from Toronto). He was so sweet with our daughters and even gave us complimentary Tiramisu (to eat there, and to take home). Would definitely return if back in Sherman Oaks.

Had a beautiful dinner tonight I had been craving pasta with a creamy sauce and found the perfect dish. Ordered the Farfelle Alla Vodka and added chicken and the owner (who asked me previously what I liked in my pasta) suggested I add sun-dried tomatoes as he had it that way before and went over and told the chef. It was the perfect balance of flavors. Delicious! My husband ordered the Pollo Della Casa which was heavenly with chicken baked in a creamy sauce and mozzarella. The owner is quite a delight and the our waiter, Henry was very attentive. It is a place for 2 or dinner with friends. Definitely will return. You should go too!

I do not say this lightly. This was the best restaurant experience I have ever had! My family and I happened to come to this restaurant after looking for a place to eat on google. We wanted something Italian and this restaurant had good reviews. We came in and were greeted with a smile. The atmosphere was delightful. It has a cozy Italian home feel. There was lovely background music played at the perfect volume to enjoy conversation at the table. I had a hard time picking which wine I wanted and the owner personally gave me a little taste of a few wines and I chose the Pinot Noir which was simply wonderful. The food was packed with flavor and the portions were perfect. I had the pollo della casa which was covered with an amazing Alfredo sauce. The meal was then capped off with a complimentary tiramisu which was delicious. It was a meal that I will be thinking about for a long time. It was a slower night as we came on a Monday night but the owner made us feel so welcome and even privileged us with a nice conversation after our meal. He was so kind and made us feel as if we had just had a meal at home. I cannot wait until the next time I can come back! It truly was the most amazing restaurant experience.

We really like this restaurant. Gnocchi, lasagna, spaghetti, and other dishes are all good here. The spice and sauces they add all tastes good but most dishes are more salty than necessary.

Went here with my son. Lasagna tasted great and owner was nice. Service is top notch here. Although, I wish they added less salt for seniors to the food as most have high blood pressure.

The prices were very good and surprisingly two dinner plates, house bread appetizer, and house dessert were under $54.00, for a party of two! What a great place! The wonderful feature of Spumoni Restaurant is the staff and business owner. The employees here really make you feel comfortable and very important. If your plate isn't listed on the menu, the house chef can create your own personal inspired taste of Italy entrée. The dress code is great for families too! My sister and I dressed casually and we were treated with kindness! Credit card is accepted, but because it is a small business cash is always preferable so that the business doesn't get charged with a fee for using the credit card machine. The restaurant is small and only has one restroom for each gender Male/Female. Parking is free by the rear of the restaurant. On the weekend, after 5:00 p.m., we parked in the Wells Fargo parking lot. Overall, I am very happy that my sister and I dined in at Spumoni Restaurant. We will be returning here to dine-in again.

I stopped by here while looking for a place to eat. The workers are extremely kind and welcoming when I arrived. The owner and other workers taught us how to eat the various types of pasta and soups we ordered, including the exact way to hold a fork. The food made me warm up but it was very tasty and was big. Even though I wasn’t in a good mood from problematic experiences at a completely different place, they made sure it wouldn’t happen here, even giving my group an escort to the parking lot for our safety and giving us extra tiramisu to eat later. I was amazed by how well the restaurant understood us. The service here is beyond exceptional.

First time eating here with a friend and will definitely be back again! Didn’t need a reservation (2 people, 6:30 dinner) and was immediately sat. Staff stayed alert anout our waters and beverages. Food came out so quickly, barely any wait. Highly recommend the shrimp and spaghetti in pink sauce! Atmosphere was great - no loud music, but also not awkwardly quiet either. The owner(?) came around and delivered each table’s food himself along with the complimentary tiramisu. Loved it!

Decor and general atmosphere is quite dark and untidy but with the warm service and delicious food, I didn't mind. My friend mentioned her dish was nice but a little on the salty side (seafood). If you’re craving Italian food, this restaurant will always hit the spot.

We were hosted by bodice? Sp? The nicest friendliest dining experience we have had in a long time. We have gone on many trips to Italy and this restaurant reminding me of some of the small town restaurants we explored. Family hospitality and great comfort food with the portions just the right size. Their crème and lemon/white wine pasta’s were just great. I can’t wait to go there again the next time we visit LA.

I asked my husband to find a cute + cozy Italian restaurant for Friday night dinner date, and we found what we wanted and more! Low lighting, but not so low you can’t read the menu. Quiet enough to hear conversation, but not awkward-quiet. And the service was top notch, nothing about the spot was pretentious, and the food was tasty. The owner (or maybe maître d’?) Vasak was so sweet and greeted us with a huge smile. He had us come to the back to taste all of the wines because I didn’t know which one I wanted, and he brought tiramisu on the house at the end of our meal. The whole staff was friendly and fast, and they all seemed to know the guests who walked in—big smiles, hugs, handshakes, “see-you-in-a-couple-weeks”. We got bow tie pasta with pink sauce and their house made gnocchi with pesto cream sauce; perfectly al dente and perfectly salted. I’m going to bring all of my friends!

Some of the best service l've received at a restaurant. The seating area is small and the atmosphere is nice. It has very homey feel to it. As for the food I think it was great. We got the lemon chicken and the chicken and pesto gnocchi. Very delicious, filling, and reasonably portioned and priced. And to top it all off, COMPLIMENTARY TIRAMISU. I cannot recommend this place enough and looking at the overall rating of this place, l'd say most others would agree. A definite return.

We have been coming to spumoni for years. The wait staff and owner are so attentive and always so welcoming. Food is consistently delicious and very fresh. We love spumoni!

Great spot! Staff was very welcoming and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.

Our server was terrific. The food was great. 4 starts because i requested a thinner noodle and instead my friend got his dish with the thinner noodle. But the waiter was very apologetic and hooked us up with a to-go bread and olive/butter dip. Great place to carb load.

It is a nice place. Pasta is really good, sauces are high quality and service is very friendly and personal. Portions are large and prices are great. Particularly wine ($6 per glass or $30+ per bottle) which makes your total bill affordable. Will definitely came back.

We've lived in the Sherman Oaks environs for many years but we've never eaten at Spumoni Italian restaurant until recently. This past week, we were taken to Spumoni by some friends who have dined here before and were welcomed by the owner with genuine open arms. Since it was an early weekday night, there was no crowd so we were seated immediately. The place is sort of a non-descriptive room with minimal decorations but clean and pleasant. The waitstaff was quick and attentive and served an unordered plate of crushed black olives, olive oil and wine vinegar along with good pieces of sour dough bread as a starter. For my dinner, I ordered Ciopino and my wife had Spaghetti and meatballs. The food came quickly, well prepared, hot and tasty. I've had Ciopino many times before and this order was average, at best. It had a fair sampling of shell fish bathed in a fairly bland red sauce (my fault-I had requested limited spiciness). The plate was of moderate size, I guess, commensurate with the high cost, these days, of the ingredients. My wife's Spaghetti and meatballs was average, also but, she enjoyed it. Our co-diners ordered wine which we only sipped since we are not drinkers. Following the main course, we were served a portion of Tiramasu as a gratis dessert and this was enjoyed by all. The owner stood by and was ready and willing to engage with his diners and was very friendly. The price for this meal with the wine was fair and, if we want an Italian style dinner again, we'd consider Spumoni. Parking, limited in amount was free and right behind the restaurant as well as on Ventura Blvd. with parking meters as on any commercial street. So, in summary, this visit was good but not superb and can act as a nice local Italian eatery,

The food was delicious. The pasta was cooked.pefectly. The hosts/servers are very warm and welcoming. We really liked the tiramisu. The only suggestion is the surroundings felt worn and in need of repair.

Small quaint restaurant right on Ventura. The food was decent. The owner was delightful and very sweet and kind. I wish I could give a better review but the restaurant itself was very old and not in a charming way. There was a musty smell that overpowered the food. It was clean enough just rundown. The atmosphere was enough to take away from my enjoyment of the food. With so many choices and with prices so high these days, I can't see myself ever coming back or recommending to others.

The owner/manager was charming and super nice. But the food was lacking. I really wanted to love it all but it just didn't hit. The risotta was dry and crunchy, the lasagna was super watery and the gnocchi was decent. The free tiramisu was very dry.

I wanted veal scallopini, which is on their website menu (yes, Sherman Oaks location). The waitress said they had never served veal at this location. If that's true, they should correct their website. For my second choice, I ordered shrimp scampi limone. It was tasteless in a salty watery "sauce." "Watery" is a common complaint in the negative reviews here. The decor was drab with zero atmosphere, but the staff were very nice. Would not recommend.
