Peet's Coffee on Bay in Capitola is the absolute best in quality of coffee, friendly, fast, knowledgeable baristas and the clean, relaxing atmosphere and chill music. Plus the people who come here are courteous.

My favorite coffee shop in town. Not as sweet as Starbucks with more coffee, but not burnt like all the "hip" coffee roasters. Also the staff are THE BEST.

Peet's has the best Cold Brew out of all coffee shops I've been to. They have specific Coffee beans made for cold brew which is a big difference from other coffee shops

I always define a GREAT company by it's people. Peet's coffee is ...well... let's face it everywhere!!! However, I've found the Capitola Store on Bay & Porter is just simply the BEST!!! The best in customer service, the best in remembering my name, the best at returning your cell phone that I left on the counter, the best at making you feel welcome every time you walk in!! For Example... Katie never forgets that I love Nutmeg! ..and Sean always knows I like my almond latte's FLAT... Yes, it's true I am a regular, rock-solid for WOW too long maybe 8 years now.... Well, if a GREAT company is a reflection of it's manager, that is L'Anja whom is very warm, attentive and has been a pleasure to get to know over the years. I wish I could remember all the names (they are all very nice) but these people stand out, above & beyond to me, so Thank you Team Peets in Capitola!

I love Peet's . I am saddened by the fact Nestle's has purchased after market Peet's. ( In the supermarket) They are such dispicable world citizens. Love the French Roast!

Always friendly and the coffee is so much better than Starbucks. The flavors are rich and creative, and I love the oatmeal.

It's roomy with outside seating. Inside has few tables with leather armchairs. The crew always in good mood and will do an extra effort to serve you.

Best coffee around, staff is amazing and super friendly, the prices are the best in town, and the coffee taste great! Eddie is one of the most amazing birista with a great ability to create new and amazing profiles for your taste pallete!

Good coffee. Especially if you need a change from that same Starbucks flavor. This coffee tastes more "organic" if I had to use a word to describe it. Where Starbucks tastes more " fast food" like, to me.

The women who run this shop are top notch. Every time I'm in here they always work fast, get thinks perfect, ask smart questions when they are unsure, and above all are constantly friendly. This feels like a small coffee shop!

What are you doing, Roger?

Always love going to Peet's! Naturally strong coffee and delicious tea brewed to perfection. Definitely going back to Peet's. Preferred over Starbucks, not for price but for the quality of coffee.

The young man at the cash register was so kind and patient with my family and me as we decided. The coffees we ordered were delicious, as were the pastries and sandwiches. Oliver gave great customer service.

Nice clean coffee shop and a small strip mall next t a Nob Hill food market. There's plenty of parking. The place was uncrowded, clean, and the service was fast and friendly. The weather was nice so I sat outside with a friend at one of several outside tables where we enjoyed our coffees. There's a trail at the other side of the parking lot and we went for a walk afterwards which is very convenient!

Its very welcoming! They welcome you in with smiling faces and are very kind and sweet people!!!! I haven't been to a peets location that disappoints!!!

The food is tasty, but it’s about the coffee. First rate coffee, for those who know and love great coffee.

I finally got to try Peet's coffee for the first time. It was everything that everyone says it is. I tried the oat milk cold brew and the only thing I can say that might be a slight negative was the price. It's not cheap but it's definitely better than other major coffee chains. I'll be back.

Very friendly and honoring staff. Excellent Lattes, Dirty Chia tea Lattes, and Dirty Chai tea Javivas, etc... . By far the best quality in the Bay areas. Like this shop, many do not have enough seating inside, but ample outside. Simply worth the wait to hang out. I have been a customer for over 15 years. I normally frequent Peet’s twice a day great breakfast food, and sandwiches which I usually buy 5 to 7 days a week. I recommend Peet’s Coffee and Tea often.

Coffee availability changes, though the signs naming what is available does not always keep up with this fact. Staff is excellent! One restroom is out of service at this time.

It's Peet's, so you know the coffee. Staff is competent, cheerful. Outside seating has umbrella, but it is after all a shopping center. Inside chairs are a bit shopworn, but laid out with good room between them (I've seen motorized wheelchair move fairly easily inside).

C

That I’m aware of, there is no one there called Peets. However the coffee is good. Staff can be a little bit grumpy if you don’t tip them, which is probably a sign that the company is not paying their staff enough.

Always a reliably good cup of coffee.☕️ Nice crew providing quick service. Goid outside seating.

I have been at Peet's Coffee on Bay Avenue now three times. I have also ordered from this location via door dash more than 5 times. The beverages and food are great 😃👍 - well made and tasty. The coffee ☕ is always warm. My favorite is the matcha 🍵 coffee.

C

Good coffee and snacks consistently. Generally friendly and helpful baristas who get to know you and your preferences. For a corporate coffee company, they're good, and seem to be at least somewhat socially conscious/responsible. I don't use the app, but it seems like there are benefits, and it allows you to call an order in ahead; which is good as the line at peak times is frequently six or more deep. Sitting down to relax, read etc is possible though usually challenging in the morning. The outdoor seating is an option if the weather permits. I'm a contractor and will often use it as a meet-up place for clients.

I was standing at the cash register and a woman cuts in front of me. The cashier attends to her. When I ordered I told her what had happened and she said 'you weren't in line'. I said I was and she then said 'I thought you were together'. Her attitude was poor and her tone was rude. The coffee and pastry were good.

This spot has very friendly and high-spirited employees to go with its terrific Peet's coffee. I'm giving it only a 3-star review because I had to travel over hill and dale to find an electrical outlet elsewhere because of its lack of them, due to a mainly full house. My suggestion is having them outside and also having a large community table or two for more people to be able to sit down and plug in 😀.

Not impressed at all with the customer service from this location or the taste of the coffee and hot chocolate. We were standing in line and a worker said we need to stand to the other side..okay, fine, but then the cashier opens up and we went back to the spot we were originally standing. The hot drinks were barely warm. I like the Scotts Valley locaion better.

Look, in reality, a bad experience in a coffee house is pretty minor to say the least. But if I can help one person avoid a frustrating situation, then I've accomplished something by doing this. Simply, the customer service at this store has hit rock bottom. Numerous times I've had to wait in line while the caffeined chatty cashier, goes on and on with the current customer at her register. This while the line is heading towards the door. The manager is too lazy to jump on the other register, she is too busy restocking items that could easily be restocked later when the store is slow. But that would require her to wait on customers. Oh no not that! The first rule of retail is, wait on the customers. And if there is a line, add cashiers to keep the line moving. It is truly unbelievable how so many places today, don't respect that rule, or their customers. Lastly, they are always out of the best pastries by the time I get there. Which is not that late really. I mentioned to the manager that she should order more, because they are selling and she would profit by selling more, and order less of the same ones nobody buys. Stared at me blankly. Couldn't give a damn what I was saying or thinking. Bummer, this place used to be cool. Now just lazy, full of itself, and not satisfying.

I have never had a good experience here. The lack of light or medium roast coffee bothers me a little, but it has to be the casheirs that get me the most. This morning I stood as the lone person in line for more than a minute or two while the cashier had a not so important conversation with the barista. When he decided that I existed, I chose to "consider the menu" and stood there to repay the favor by wasting a little of his time. Well, that really upset the cashier so he stormed off into the backroom not to be seen again. This attitude, self-imporant malaize, is the culture at this Peet's Coffee. Mr. Toots is just as far for me with a better view. I will never drink another ounce of Peet's. Period. UPDATE: Brought back here by a friend today who thought she could change my mind. After a few minutes of standing in line with the workers idling while the line piled up like hwy 1, my friend started to worry "what are they doing?" It wasn't until the line reached from the counter to the door (I was 2nd from the front) that the two cashiers decided it was time to work again. During our wait the staff was all kind of puttering around and having casual conversations. I have worked for a coffee shop, so has my friend. We know. Worry grows on the face of the girl at the espresso machine with each addition to the queue. I order the medium roast; like the guy next to me. Both my cashier and his cashier dash to the coffee container behind them. Its a race! My cashier is slower - no matter, turns out the medium roast is all gone. My cashier asks me if I want to wait. She asks me, if I want to... wait. Isn't that what I've been doing? This establishment is an embarassment. You have 2 jobs, make coffee, sell it. Still haven't had a drop.

Was excited to find this location unfortunately it was a total disaster! As has become normal with all Peet's locations lately they were "out" of dark roast. I don't get it, brew more, sell more! So many employees standing around doing nothing and the bathroom, disgusting, see my pictures. Come on Peet's, do better.

Ordered a medium cappachino and it was filled 90 percent with milk. Doesn’t anyone know how to make a damn cappuccino anymore? I wonder how they make lattes? 200% milk.

I went to this location today to purchase coffee beans. When I arrived there was a woman carrying her little pomeranian through the store, over to counters, and over the coffee bar. This was clearly a pet and not a service animal. The staff did not say anything to her about this clear and disgusting violation of the health code, so I spoke up and said that it was both illegal and gross to bring your pet into a location where food and beverages were being served. One of the employees immediately proceeded to yell at me in an aggressive tone to "not speak to other customers" and that "it was her job to inform customers that they can't bring pets into the store". So I responded and said she should do her job because it was a health code violation and it was disgusting. She then proceeded to scream at me (this is not hyperbole...she was red-faced and yelling) to the point where I couldn't understand what she was even saying. Frustrated, I said I was taking my business elsewhere to which she said that I was not allowed back. If this is how Peets treats their paying customers, then they do not deserve to be in business. The health code is in place for a reason. Businesses are obligated to comply for a reason. Any business that can not respect the laws which govern them and the customers which support them do not deserve to exist. I am done with Peet's. I will take my business to local coffee shops which care about things like maintaining sanitary conditions and respecting paying customers.

Gave this store 2 attempts; two days in a row. The first day I stood in line (what I thought was a line since it had a cash register) and after 5 minutes wasn’t acknowledged just occasionally looked at. Then a lady to my right who had just walked in was asked if she was ready to order. I walked out no coffee just irritated. Day 2. I decided it was close and I knew it was right next to the hotel. Walked in to the correct register this time. Asked if they still had their raspberry mocha; with annoyance she said no they never had it. Informed her they used too. I said okay do you have the orange mocha she said no they haven’t had that either with annoyance, again. I said never mind. I’ll just go to Starbucks. She laughed and said well the drinks are all Starbucks drinks anyways. I responded ya but the customer service is better.

Ordered on door dash. Got a 10$ drink almost a third unfilled. I call the store to politely complain. Whoever answered the phone referred me back to doordash saying that they would refund me. People who’ve used doordash know that they mess up almost every order and at some point they stop refunding you for their mistakes. I told her this and she says “cool… we’ll thanks for letting me know….” You know how expensive these drinks are. I bet they’re not nearly empty when you make your own drink at the store. I ordered two extra shots of caffeine and somehow it was still near empty. I’m not surprised at the poorly made drink but I am surprised at the service and the rude response from whoever I spoke to on the phone. First and last time ordering here
