We have been coming to this restaurant consistently for over a year. Our favorite servers are Carlos and Andrea. We enjoy a variety of breakfast choices. We like the American breakfast, the MOM omelette, French toast and pancakes. Everything we order is tasty and has a nice presentation. Thanks for many good experiences over the years.

I don’t post reviews often but I had to give a shoutout to Oscar, our server at Broken Yolk, and the rest of the amazing staff at this location. We were an unwieldy group of 11 children and 10 adults and everyone—from the hostess to the wait staff to the bussers—were so kind, efficient, and patient with us. It really made for a great experience and, of course, the food was great!

Great breakfast spot! The food is fresh and delicious and served quickly and hot! Very good coffee, too! From light and healthy to a stack of pancakes, the menu has good option for everyone. Most enjoyable is the host Terin who greets you with a welcoming smile and friendly hello. His star shines bright and I hope he becomes a server!

I eat at the La Costa location about once a week as the food is amazing and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I ate there yesterday which was Halloween and I had Tiki Toast which is on of my favorites and the wait staff were all dressed as Crayons for Halloween and made the dinning experience even more enjoyable. My waiter was Carlos who is a very attentive and very accommodating. He was dressed as a Green Crayon and each member was a different color. If you live close by I would highly recommend going there and if you don’t live close by , take a drive, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Broken Yolk and Carlos (aka) Green. I think you should make Crayon a monthly experience. Just sayin,

I really enjoyed being able to come in and have my order taken right away. Being able to pay the bill before I'm done eating is also awesome because it means I can be ready to head to work when I'm done with my meal instead of waiting on service. The steak and eggs has been a favorite lately, but the Sopes Benedict, feta avocado toast and Nutella crepes are other massive favorites.

Recently they added LavAzza coffee to their menu and that is a step up! I love their cappuccino now. Amazing food and great service. Comfortable booths to work or simply to be comfortable while enjoying a meal and great conversation. You can order two different styles of eggs benedict in one dish and any single pancake, most places want to charge for the entire stack of pancakes.

Relaxed cafe with wide selection of breakfast foods. We enjoyed "choose two benedicts" and the "southern biscuits and gravy." Both were delicious. Service was excellent and very attentive.

A very nice first-time visit. We arrived right at 9 and were seated immediately. The restaurant has a clean, airy feel to it. There is an outdoor dining option, but it was a bit cool this morning, so the inside seating was the best route. Carlos took exceptional care of us. When we're ready, he's ready. My wife had the "Choose two" Benedict with the classic and Golden Gate being her choices. I had the breakfast sandwich with home fries. We had coffee and split a large OJ. Everything came out quickly and looked great, although my croissant did look like it had been smushed in a press. The home fries could have used some seasoning. Otherwise, everything tasted very good. The OJ was fantastic. Service was exceptional. My coffee was never less than half full. Prices for the local Carlsbad area are a bargain. Enjoy!

Broken Yolk in Carlsbad is a great place for breakfast and brunch. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is clean and family-friendly. We enjoyed everything we ordered, and the staff was generally welcoming. The only issue we had was with one of our orders. The server asked us how we wanted the side, but later we realized it was actually a mistake on her part — she was new and still learning. We understand these things happen, but we were still charged for the extra item, which could have been handled a bit better. It wasn’t a big deal, but a simple adjustment would have made the experience perfect. Overall, we still recommend Broken Yolk Café. The food and service are good.

The food was tasty (didn't need salt and pepper) but I love adding it I feel that they help unleash natural flavors. I digress great location great atmosphere. Looks clean and neat the service was great. I have no complaints. I liked that I could pay my bill with a QR code which was an awesome feature.

To the owner of broken Yolk, see attached photo of what a REAL croissant looks like. It had been a long time that my partner and I had gone to the Broken Yolk. We remembered good service and tasty food. We visited on a Saturday morning about a month ago. They were slammed and told us the kitchen was shut down until they could catch up. We patiently waited but when we finally got our breakfast croissant sandwiches I was shocked at the fake croissant it was served on. It was thin, whispy, stale bun looking concoction. It did not resemble a croissant at all. Our food was served cold, we were so hungry from waiting so long. Both of us said never again when departing. I also got up and got my partner a fresh cup of coffee from the server inside, his coffee was served cold. For the prices you charge you need to serve real croissants.
