I’m here getting my standard delicious taco. And Chris the manager handled a Karen like a champ. I expect her review here any minute. ☀️ I don’t leave a lot of reviews. But she complained about how something was packaged. Not sure but after she got her newly packaged food she asked for a refund. lol

Very good food. We had an awesome lady in her first day help us at the register.

I live in Utah, and I am so sad Rubio's left Utah several years ago. We have come down to Carlsbad twice in the past 6 years, and it is 100% a must-visit restaurant when we are here, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and service are great, and the food is phenomenal! My favorites are the fish tacos and chips & salsa. I wish we had one nearby so I could get it regularly.

Restaurant was very clean. Employees were all very friendly. My order was correct and very good.

Langostino lobster is back so of course I ordered a bowl online. My order was ready when I arrived and still hot when I got home. Delicious as always 👍👍

Sweet girl who took my order was so kind and helped me order what was mist like what I use to order but was discontinued.

First time visiting. I thought the menu selection was great. The food was very good and good service.

Had a fabulous mercado salad with blackened salmon, the employees were super busy but also very friendly.

We've been at several Rubios, most of are pretty consistent and this one was not the exception 🙏🏽👌🏽.... Chopped chicken salad and grilled chicken burrito was as expected. Our food was ready within 5 minutes 👍🏽...My rating 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

Great food, my family of 5 went two days in a row given the 3 kids ate very well and enjoyed the kids menu "make your own taco". We were even more pleased with the service. I forgot my phone there and called after closing time. The employee was super nice and accommodating, He thought of a few options to solve my problem and even helped me get the phone after everyone had left.

We stopped by for a quick bite while we were shopping and Benjamin (Ben) was our cashier. He greeted us enthusiastically and with a smile. He patiently answered my questions and recommended a delicious Chicken Salad and a Salmon Salad for my friend. Within minutes our food arrived and Ben was now going around clearing tables and wiping them down. He then went to assist at the register and then quickly came back to replace the napkin dispensers. He did all this with a smile and enthusiasm. I was very impressed with his demeanor and work ethic. Management, please recognize Ben with praise and recognition and don't let him go. Thank you, we will be back. 🙏🏽

The bowl had lots of fresh ingredients and tasted great loved the garlic butter too. The tacos were heaping! Tasted great also. Kids devoured the chicken nuggets and fries which also looked freshly made. Actually we're real chicken. The lady at the till was nice too. Mexican atmosphere, clean tables etc. In Canadian dollars with the current exchange rate things are a tiny bit expensive. But what can ya do.. Thanks had a great meal!

A lil out of the way, but this good as you get some peace from the shopping crowd. Nice big green padded high chairs, solid tables, salsa bar, and of course great Baja style food!

The tacos were really good! The staff was welcoming and the restaurant was very clean - including the salsa bar!! Great experience!

A little slower than I'm used to for counter service but amazing food.

It’s been over 10 years since i stepped into a Rubios for their fish taco. Still love the tempura batter, had better iterations of fish tacos but still enjoyed Rubios original fish tacos.

Best burrito I’ve had in a while. The size was significantly bigger, which is nice considering the price. But I still only come if I have a coupon.

The Maui burrito is normally quite good. However, this time the cook burned it on the grill until it was rock hard and impossible to chew or shallow. For the price, it should have been much better. Kind of wondering how they can pass off damaged food to their customers. We would have complained but we waited an extremely long time for our meal and by the time we got it, the line was long and out the front door. The place was packed full with customers. Maybe they need some help in the kitchen and need a second cashier.

Never get my order right, my kids are always missing something from their kids meals’ whether it be tortillas or milk or chips.

Been here multiple times but today was kind of rough. Long line, 1 cashier. Long wait for food. Everything was dirty - salsa bar, floors, bathrooms, even the trash was overflowing full. The food was ok, but I was a little nervous it would make us sick based on the environment

I come here for taco Tuesday and the website to order online doesn’t work. The food takes awhile to get out even when it’s not busy. I would not recommend going here if you don’t have much time.

Family of 12 was in line in front of me. Had no clue what they wanted so they asked a thousand questions. Fine. I waited 15 minutes when the guy should have just offered "can I take her order while you all figure out what you like?" Just basic consideration. Then the guy used his BARE hands to get my chips. Ew. So I asked the manager nicely for a new bag and I said "sorry, thank you" and he responds with "cool, cool." Like I was interrupting him. The service at the Carlsbad location has seriously gone downhill. So sad

Did not open a rest room for me 😅 with a reason - I am picking up the order and will not eat inside... the restaurant was almost empty and will be empty with this kind of service. 08/16/25 at 4pm

What a horrible experience I had this morning!! They hate animals and the lady was no having it definitely not a pet friendly restaurant, if you got pets don’t even try she give me the worse attitude she literally follow me in the restaurant with a disgusting argument about them not being allowed in the restaurant if they were not service animals wich they were. Long story short my morning meal was ruined by her attitude and my friends who were out of town were really dissapointed. But the good thing is that right next to that it’s an amazing place called Ruby’s pet friendly and amazing customer service.

Catering trays not even 1/2 full. Shrimp not even 1/4 full. Guests arriving in minutes and not enough food for our party. Calling 20 minutes and “all team members are busy”. 100% absolute rip off!!!!

I was a paying customer and needed the restroom code. The employee told me the code was on my receipt, but I never received one. Instead of simply providing the code, I was told to wait in line again and purchase something else. After that, the code was written on the receipt anyway. It felt unnecessary and inconvenient, especially as an existing customer. I understand policies, but there should be some flexibility and basic courtesy. If anyone else wondering the code is 2356 😉
