Very delicious hamburger 🍔, onion rings and fries. They taste fresh We were on our drive back home and stopped to take food on our drive home. But we sat there and anecdotal at the last minute, very clean, peaceful and again the food was delicious and most important it was fresh. (You don’t see fresh made hamburger in other places, with big names🤦♀️) We hope to stop by on our next trip, take move pictures of our delicious food and the spot. Stay toon🤗
I have been coming to the spot since I was a kid over 30 years ago when we would visit my grandparents at the beach. Always a great place to stop and eat at Carp.
Been coming here since I was a kid and it still hits the spot. Love the cheeseburger and malt combo. Obviously cash only but they have an ATM so you don’t have to wander too far. Great casual burger place for a quick bite. Would highly recommend supporting this longtime, local burger spot with anyone hankering for a classic cheeseburger or milkshake.
I came here with my nephews for the first time.. first off id like to say the location is absolutely perfect!!! Being near to the beach AND a playground?!?! Yeah, We definitely had to come here after a long beach day 😂 The customer service was great too!! The young lady with the short redish hair and piercings answered all my questions and treated me with the most absolute customer service .. i loved her energy! And let me just say the cheeseburgers… AMAZING! That coupled with a vanilla shake was just perfect haha i love california🥰
Listen here, folks. I've had my share of burgers in my day, but this here burger from The Spot is somethin' else. When they brought this bad boy out, my jaw hit the table faster than a possum in a headlight. I took my first bite, and I swear a choir of angels started singin' 'Free Bird,' with juicy beef that makes a man wanna wipe his face on his sleeve and a bun as soft as a baby bunny's belly. I don't know what kind of magic they're workin' in that kitchen, but they're makin' masterpieces, not just meals. I'd sell my second-best hound dog for another one of these, and that's sayin' somethin'—if you're lookin' for a burger that'll make you wanna slap your mama, you gotta get your hands on this bad boy.
Always gets colder than you think it will (because it’s by the sea of course) and is usually pretty busy, but the line moves fast and it’s definitely worth bearing some cool wind! good accessibility, mostly all seating is outdoors. I love the maui burger, but the fish tacos, vegetarian burger, and the fries (sweet potato, regular, or onion rings) are all delicious. beautiful atmosphere and view, pet friendly, kid friendly, etc. Parking can be a bit tricky (always commute if possible) and you might even have to circle back- but again, it’s worth it.
If you’ve never been here, all I’m going to say, is that you’re in for a treat. And in case you have been here, let this be a reminder that if you order the loaded fries, it’s the equivalent to Carne Asada fries . This isn’t a compliant either, on the contrary, it’s 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 Last, but not least, if you’re reading this, you’re blessed. I hope you have a wonderful day, week, month, and year! Remember to practice gratitude and love.
So very good. Had the double cheeseburger with crispy fries and a chocolate malt while my wife ate some of the crispy fries and a plain cheeseburger with vanilla shake. Perfect for a stop off between LA and Santa Barbara when you get hungry around late lunch. Very satisfying. Will be here again for certain.
ONLY CASH!!! This place it amazing. It did take a little long to order the food. The cashier wasn't very fast at her job. But once we ordered we sat down and the food was ready in like 10ish min. You get the old school, beach, and fresh vibe. The food is amazing. The burger looks and tastes home made. They give you a big burger. The fires are ok. They weren't worth finishing. Just get one frie to share with someone else I promise you you aren't going to want to get seconds. The burger is super juicy! Always went to this place when I was younger and tastes and looks the same.
A totally unassuming ‘spot’ that you may think is only a fast food joint. The food is good and my wife was pleasantly surprised about the shrimp taco! Give it a chance!
The food was good I particular enjoyed the location. Great place to eat at. There was one thing though, one of the cooks, very young, he looked about 20 . With shorts and a hat, left the little shack to go into a room in the back and then he came out about 2 minutes later blowing smoke out his mouth ?!? Seems a little unprofessional, I don’t believe he was on his break. Not tryna get little man in trouble or anything, just wanna make sure it doesn’t happen again especially with the kids around!
The Spot is a community establishment and that generational love is felt in every aspect of this restaurant. The service is friendly and oddly personable for the brief minute or so it took to place my order. The atmosphere is immaculate as the shack feels out of time and right at home simultaneously. Locals have been coming here for generations and I completely understand why — something about this place is just so comforting. The cheeseburger, while simple, made me smile — I was genuinely filled with happiness while eating it. It is flavored with the seasonings that can only come from a well loved griddle. All the vegetables played their part to add textual variety. The chili cheese fries were good — especially during a gray beach day. Covered in melted cheddar and a warm, well spiced, and chunky chili, you couldn’t ask for anything more. While The Spot won’t knock your socks off, it is a simple burger and fries made with love, as cheesy as it sounds.
Unexpectedly above-average, beach burger joint. Ordered a chicken sandwich, burger & fries, and a breaded clam chowder bowl...all tasty and satisfying. Family enjoyed it. Not gourmet quality, but did the job. Walking distance from Carpinteria SB campsites with outside, covered seating. Reasonably priced.
5 stars for the location 5 stars for cleanliness and sanitizing 4 stars for service, not very friendly 3 stars for the food. Even though it looked delicious, burger was soggy and fell apart. The avocado we requested on the burger was more like guacamole and very runny. Messed up the whole experience
If you're expecting a quick, decent bite to eat by the beach, this is "The Spot!" The service is fast and friendly and the burgers are pretty tasty. My only complaint is that the onion rings are obviously frozen. However, they are super cheap! Definitely worth checking out. Update: the chocolate shakes are awesome!
It’s okay but a pretty substandard burger, really expensive substandard burger but it’s close to the beach so that’s probably where the expensive price comes from. The burgers were undercooked, cold burger and burnt onion rings, the girl taking the order was wishing she was somewhere else. I recommend getting a burger somewhere else, in my opinion it’s really tough to mess up a burger but the spot is definitely not the spot to get a burger .
Never going back. I always given this local establishment my business, but I’m done. The double burger that I recently got had a weird smell to it. I tasted the hamburger patty itself and it had a bad smell to it, not fresh at all. I immediately threw it away. Never again!
I came out to The Spot on a recommendation from a friend who's a Carp local. He's always gushing about how amazing the food is so I drove out from SCV to give it a try. All I can say is that the entire experience was quite disappointing. I didn't mind that the lines and wait times were long nor that there was limited seating space since it's the closest lunch spot from the beach. However, what irked me was the dismal service from the staff and undercooked food. The girl at the front seemed completely disinterested in taking our order. When I went to pick up my order from the window, the server forgot our malt and drinks. After asking them repeatedly, I had to wait over ten minutes to get our drinks. By the time I got back to my table, the food was clammy and cold. I also distinctly asked them for fries well done, but instead recieved half frozen fries. Also, the meat on the burgers weren't cooked through and were excessively pink. I like my steaks rare, but I definitely dare not risk eating rare burgers. In the end I tossed out most of the food. The only positive is that they have ample parking spaces in the back and a clean bathroom. Their food and service are both atrocious.
