My daughter loves this place and took us there for lunch. The line was long and it took 30min to order then another 35/40min to get the food so quite long overall. They were nice enough to spontaneously bring us a free scone for dessert for the long wait. We all had sandwiches: the breakfast, the Reuben and grilled cheese, honestly they all were delicious!! We also had a coffee, lemonade and a fizzy drink plus a cheesecake, bill was $100 so not cheap. The shop is super nice with really cool bougie assortment, also not cheap but very beautiful.
Great breakfast sandwich, beautiful morning sitting outside next to to coast. Active environment, and nice ambience with people milling about.
As soon as I walked into Field and Fort I knew it was going to be special. In fact, I stood in the doorway taking everything in. Field and Fort is the kind of place you want to slowly walk through to be able to take in all the amazing things they have. It's a great place to come to for unique decorating ideas. They also have a small but amazing cafe which offers amazing lattes and very clean food. If you are looking for a place to meet with friends for coffee anytime of the day, Fielf and Fort has a beautiful outdoor seating area.
The Field and Fort is decorated for the holidays! Don’t miss this beautiful shop! Their brewed ice tea is strong and great too!
I really love this place! Amazing 🤩 good food, great ambience and service. (They getting me water on the table). nice place to rest and enjoy the time. You can see the sea as well a little bit. And afterwards you can shop amazing things for your home. For me a little bit to expensive, but if I would have the money I would spend there a lot 😍😍😍😍😍
Drink was great. I didn’t have any food. Nice ppl
Great food. Great service. Plenty of outside seating. It's a little pricey, but typical for the area - definitely worth going for breakfast or brunch. Their crispy Brussel Sprouts with Lordo (chunky bacon pieces) was really good. As was the home fries with poached egg on top.
Such a great spot!! Outside seating and vibes by the lemon trees made for a nice family gathering!! Service was fantastic!! Everyone loved what they got to eat and drink. I loved the ham sandwich!! I have a tree nut allergy and they were amazing with recommendations and making sure to be sensitive and helpful!! Definitely will be going back!!
The food was good, nice offerings albeit a little high priced. The service was excellent. Nice restaurant staff! We came after the lunch rush and I recommend this highly. Great destination riding bikes from Carpinteria on the new bike path!
Such a cute place for breakfast for lunch with a small group. You must find your own seat after you order. Great food and even better view. Vegan options.
Beautiful showroom and natural food catering/take-out salad and sandwich shop located at the far end of Summerland Design Row. Picked up a few unique kitchen tools at the showroom/store (Upscale Sur la Table meets Upscale Resoration Hardware) and ordered takeaway to eat at the local Butterfly Beach. Sandwiches and salad both packed with care, fresh and delicious. Enjoyed a fresh lemonade on their patio, set up for folks who prefer to eat in, while waiting for our order which was a lovely location too. Very pleased with this recommendation received from a shop up the road. Very kind staff, quality food and product with beautiful presentation of goods. Easy parking in their lot. Recommend a visit.
Cute little place near the sea Bathroom review:. Very clean bathrooms. They have two of them if you are worried about hogging the only one. No bathroom code. Located inside the store to the back. Tile bathroom with automatic faucet and toilet (does have manual option) no graffiti and no sticker slaps to be seen. Again very clean and neat. 5/5 stars. Food review: i got the blueberry and lemon scone. Very tasty and delicious blueberries help up well to being split between two people and did not crumble completely Also got the house lemonade. Very Delicious included a lemon slice.
LOVED our lunch here! Had the grilled cauliflower salad with dates, garbanzos, chopped walnuts on arugula and fresh mint leaves withTahini dressing and the Taragon Chicken Salad sandwich with pickled onions. Both were terrific! Tried a sample of their granola and it was divine as well.Beautiful store to visit while there. After our lunch outside,we headed into the store and throughly enjoyed the very cool space and all of it's decorator delights and gourmet delicacies. Will definitely be back!!
Accidentally stumbled upon this cute little shop when we were looking for another store. Very comfortable and homey. Got a breakfast sandwich and the most delicious cookies and ate them outside. The store has lots of wonderful things to buy to make your home and kitchen beautiful and yummy, but way too expensive for our wallet.
I discovered Elizabeth W vetiver hand soap here, I am obsessed, thank you !The coffee and ambiance was excellent. The gift shop was just totally EXTRA ! This is beyond a gift shop. Everything was so beautiful I'd go there all the time if I lived closer. Thank you for the beautiful memory. I loved the gorgeous outside seating. So well thought out, I can tell that the owner knows what's up <3
A very nice to have breakfast or brunch. The view is very pretty, as well as the ambiance. But the food was the highlight and it was amazing! The store had the cutest furniture and dinning ware. It is family friendly but if you do have little ones that are a age that would love to explore I would avoid going into the store because of the glass items around the store!
Field and Fort has a beautiful patio that we enjoyed sitting out on. We got the roasted cauliflower salad and the italian ham sandwich. The salad was good but the ham sandwich was amazing. It took a while to get our food (30+ min) but I enjoyed sitting on the nice porch while waiting. It was also nice to look through the attached store. Overall, I was happy to have come here and enjoyed our food.
Gorgeous cafe and home goods store. The coffee and pastries were great. Also, a nice board of pickles and bread. I liked the outdoor sitting under the trees. The store has some beautiful items. Not cheap but very nice.
We came here on a sunday and the line was long and they were extremely busy, so we came back on Monday! No problem with lines and finding a spot to sit. Food was delicious. We got breakfast here and also take out in the afternoon. Beautiful store with lots of fun things. We are in Summerland for the week and will probably be back a few more times!
I would eat here for every meal! We absolutely loved the breakfast hash and yogurt bowl. Their coffee and matcha was on point. It’s very clear that quality is of high important to this cafe and it really shows in presentation, ingredients and overall aesthetic. 🤤 For lunch, we had the Brie / fig jam baguette and the bread pudding. Did I mention the matcha!? 🙈🤭😀 Highly recommend an early morning visit or a quick stop in for lunch
For me, it’s a 5 This is a delightful property thats a blend of bakery, cafe, and fine home goods retail store. The layout is clean and the entire staff are friendly and helpful. Whomever does the hiring here has their eye on the ball. Our coffee and pastries were exceptional and we enjoyed them on the very large patio area. Highly recommend a stop. Definitely will not regret it.
Lovely place and the food was terrific and beautiful presentation. It’s our new stop on our way from OC to Solvang and north of there. Thanks.
Cafe and shopping store combined. Food was very good but also quite expensive. Service was very good as well. A nice spot to take a deep breath and enjoy the ocean vibes nearby.
Field and Fort in Summerland, CA, is a breakfast gem that promises a delightful start to your day. We indulged in a variety of dishes, and each one surpassed expectations. The avocado toast was a creamy sensation, while the banana toast offered a sweet and satisfying twist. The savory porridge was a comforting delight, and the English muffin and breakfast sandwich showcased culinary expertise with bacon jam and hatch Chile cheddar on toasted levain bread The yogurt with seasonal fruit provided a refreshing touch, leaving us feeling energized. Beyond the fantastic food, the service was impeccable, reflecting a genuine passion for customer satisfaction. For a memorable breakfast in a cozy atmosphere, Field and Fort is a must-visit. Whether you prefer classic staples or innovative options, this charming spot delivers breakfast bliss.
Expensive but high quality food. The breakfast sandwich had an x-factor: apricot jam. We also enjoyed sitting in the outside garden area
Amazing I give this place a true five stars everything from the ambience and Decor to the incredible shopping and the amazing food even the bathroom was incredible great touches on every level when the food was given to us it was even given a black folded napkin with the silverware in it like a five-star restaurant even though it was take out absolutely incredible highly recommended five stars Plus

Super cool concept blends a high-end home and garden shopping experience with a lovely sit down café

Great for lunch and brunch. All tables are outside. Lovely garden setting outside this well merchandised home accessory shop where I never leave empty handed. Place your food and drink order at the register outside, take your numbered table card to any table and your food will be delivered to you. It’s not a fancy setting, but it is comfortable. Menu is varied with soup, salads and delicious sandwiches. The only snafu is one order taker and the weekend lunch time line can be long. Be patient. It’s worth the time.

Very nice place to sit outside and they did have a couple of gluten free bake good options, which is really nice. The one I had was like a small lemon custard on a little shortbread kind of pastry, it was really good. I took 1 star off because the coffee could be better. My cappuccino tasted burned, I’m not sure if that was a fluke or the coffee is just really acidic.
This place may offer simple fare like sandwiches and lemonade, but the vibe is upscale and posh. So be warned if posh is not your thing. we ate outside on the tables. The roast beef and ham sandwiches were fancy but had good flavor. The prices are more than you will pay at Subway, but this place is not offering a fast-food generic experience. If you want to kick it up a notch for lunch, eat here. We will return.
Great cafe, fun pastries, and drinks. Be careful when you are waiting for your order. A few months ago, I was looking around and not standing exactly where drinks come out. Someone took my drinks without me seeing. Employee wanted to me to pay again for three drinks to have them re-made even though someone else had stolen them...
“You’ve got to get the avacado toast!” is what I heard about Field and Fort. I thought it was good, but my breakfast sandwich was even better. There’s a nice patio to enjoy with friends while you get your day started. The accompanying shop appeared to be stocked with plenty of items to support your retail therapy. I’d go back again if we were in the area.
The name confused us, despite the unfortunate name of this establishment the food was great. We ordered 2 sandwiches and the bread is fresh and delicious, and the sandwiches were tasty. I went for the asparagus sandwich which is an unconventional choice for me and it was really good but to be honest she needed more of the beet hummus. Saw the roast beef going by and seems like that was the move.
🏠the store: you will have a wonderful shopping day here for your home! I would spend entire day here if I can 🍴the cafe: the coffee and food is OK. Not impressive. The presentation of the food is pretty. Plenty of dining space outdoors and some spots you can even see the oceans. It is also frequently sanitized by the staffs.
When I'm in Summerland I like to venture here for lunch. It's a cool mixed vibe as not only can you have lunch outside on their patio but while you wait for your food, you can shop inside their store filled with classy goods for the home. I like this mixed use concept, a lot! My kind of style and vibe for sure!

The heated outside eating is what really makes it worth it. We shared the housemaid English muffin but I didn't need the apricot habanero jam on there...too sweet. We also ordered the sirloin hash which was unique and hearty. The coffee was strong, but that's what I like. Next time I'll try something house made sweets.

This place is awesome for food and environment but instead of having a huge store of merchandise in the restaurant how about using some of the space to extend your kitchen so everyday at the lunch hour rush people don’t to wait 30 minutes, which is usual. The area selling nuts and pastries can be consolidated also so another register could go there instead of one slow moving line. Other restaurants manage these issues. 🤷♂️
Upscale Cafe serving breakfast and lunch treats in exclusive Summerland, with adjoining store for luxurious home and kitchen items and other goodies. They try really hard but you can’t get away from the fact that the location is right next to the 101 highway and all I could hear was the relentless roar of speeding cars racing up and down. Decent food, though a bit pricey—reflective of the expensive prices in the area and the affluent neighborhood.
We came by for coffee and shopping as we usually do on our way to or from Santa Barbara. I had the worst golden latte of my life here. I decided to make the best of it and enjoy the shop. We got some bathroom decor. I wasn't too pleased with the employees in the shop. A young frizzy hair blonde girl was following people around all frantic like. I kept moving away from her because she was giving me anxiety and I was just trying to have a nice relaxing time with my shitty latte. When we went to pay I over heard her loudly telling two older ladies behind the counter that she was trying to catch people stealing ? I watched her follow and harass this older lady and then loudly talk about how she thought she had memory issues. I don't know it was really weird and unprofessional in my opinion. It made me uncomfortable and the whole experience which is usually a really pleasant one, left a bad taste in my mouth.

We waited in line to order about 40 minutes and to get the food more than 30 minutes. I saw people frustrated with the service. The food was ok.
This used to be my favorite weekly lunch or brunch place but the last few times I came it took well over an hour from the time we waited in line to get our food and these were in off peak hours. Please please please get an additional cash register and staff to work your restaurant. Until then, I wont be coming back.
I don't know what is all the hype about this place. We ordered a slice of quiche, a savory scone, one cappuccino and one drip coffee. I asked one of the servers to bring more sugar, as it was empty, we left the place 45 minutes later and the sugar was still not there. The quiche was terrible and so was the scone. The location is fantastic, but the food and service is not good. go spend your money at either Starbucks or at Pierre Lafond in Montecito.
We have been here many times and this time a young gal came after our children with threats and profanity. Never bring children to this place. It was if she’s possessed by something evil. Will not be going back and we’re now considering a legal action. Disgusting and despicable.

We rang ahead to place our coffee orders and paid over the phone. After waiting 30+ min, were informed that the order had never even been placed and that we "should have told them earlier" - they were happy to take our money though. An absolutely useless ordering system and stressed-out staff leads to long waits for mediocre coffee. Avoid.
