The Nashville Hot Tofu sandwich was AMAZING! Really appreciated such a well executed vegetarian option. It’s a little messy so be sure to eat it over the tray. The tots and potato wedges were both crispy and well seasoned. I didn’t drink but my husband had a beer he was really happy with. We will definitely be back!
Haw River is our go to! The beer selection is always awesome, the frozen drinks are the best in town (they always have two available). The menu has a great selection (the hummus is beyond creamy and the pita is fried to perfection). Best of all is the staff! From the owners who are so kind to the bartenders everyone is always the sweetest, nicest and most helpful. Great for getting groups of people together as well. Most go spot in Carrboro ❤️
Service, beer and food were all great! Good amount of parking as well.
We stopped in before a show at Cats cradle and loved it. The smash burgers were delicious and my husband enjoyed the pretzel. I loved that they had house made seltzer water with syrups of your choice, and the vibes were great. Such a great causal spot. Would be great to come back and meet up with friends but unfortunately we are not from the area.
The bartenders were so friendly and helpful! The food was delicious and locally sourced. If you’re staying at the Hampton Inn next store and want great food and drinks within walking distance, I recommend this spot!
I checked this place out looking for a place to play darts. They have two very nice well lit dart boards. I had brought my own darts, but checked and they do have some house darts if needed. Excellent Farmhouse Burger, crispy tater tots, and nice craft st. benedict's breakfast beer. The beers have odd names, but are quite tasty. I asked for something in line with Guinness and the st. benedict's breakfast was nice. Chairs at the tables are nicely padded. I will be back.
I LOVE this place. Their drinks are unique and expertly made. They have a wonderful selection and awesome seasonal brews. Everything I have eaten here has been great but I especially love the chicken sandwich. It is perfectly crispy and juicy and the dill marinade make it outstanding. I highly recommend this place.
This place used to be Vecino’s, and let me tell you, it is so much better now as Haw River Tap and Table! The staff is so nice, and the food is amazing. I have a high standard for food, and this place exceeded my expectations. In January, I had the bbq sandwich and it was ah-mazing I wish I’d come back before they changed the menu! Next time I tried the fried chicken sandwich (with homemade pickles - perfect) with sweet potato waffle fries….and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the BEST sandwiches I have EVER had. Truly mind blowing. The chicken was super crispy yet still very juicy, the homemade pickles were incredible, the bun was great/wasn’t dry at all which often happens, and the sauce they used just tied everything together. It was absolutely delicious. This place is doing the most!! I highly recommend.
Hands down one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. The fry on the breading was crazy crispy, the chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly and the bun and toppings paired perfectly with the fried chicken. I really cannot emphasize this enough - go now and get this sandwich. I paired the sandwich with the loaded tots - they were an easy 9/10. Beer cheese, blue cheese crumbles, bacon jam and scallions… just fantastic. I washed everything down with a funky beer, farmstand pickle sour blonde and it was fantastic as well - such a good compliment to the meal. The service is top notch and the atmosphere is relaxed and modern with an excellent outdoor seating area. Oh and the music was super chill, always a major plus!
This is a great indoor-outdoor pub with plenty of room. The three of us ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which was fantastic! They’re not kidding when they say crispy! We also enjoyed some unique seltzer water combos… mine was vanilla and lavender, the other was black Cherry and basil.
A great tap room. Open, airy and family friendly with a great selection of local draft beers, cider, wine, craft cocktails and nonalcoholic beverages. There is a good small menu here if you are looking for a bite. They have are board games and shuffle board and darts too. Right in downtown Carrboro by lots of food and music options like Cats Cradle.
Very enjoyable brewery with a multitude of beer and cider options. Most options were "non-traditional" meaning all 8 items I tried in two different flights were all new and enjoyable experiences! The food was decent and came in sharable sizes. The shuffleboard inside was probably the highlight though!
Passing through the area, the nights stop seems to involve a brewery. Good policy, no?? Vecino popped up and offered food as well as beer. And here we are. Parking, just go to the deck. Free. Busy stop on a Saturday night. Walked in and found where the tour bus guys were, playing at Vecino. We enjoyed their choice of tunes, as it seems did everyone. It’s a nice large space, in and out, tables were full but grabbed two bar seats, perfect. Nice beer menu, Lots of Haws Brewing stuff, not sure what’s in house, I didn’t ask, but the choices were good. I enjoyed my beer, had a few tasters as well. All was good. Beer is a personal thing, so roll your own on that. We had chips and salsa to start. The salsa was different, a bit thicker, very scoopable, saves your shirt, well mine anyway. I went with the chicken sandwich. Made with a thigh. Hmmm I thought. The thigh is definitely tastier than a breast I’ve heard. So I tried it. Well I’ll tell ya, THE best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Lol. And I’ve had a few. The in house pickles. The topping. The brioche. Good. I raved so much the kitchen manager came out. Lol. That was a fun chat. The bar staff were attentive as well. Good stop. I’d go back.
Great atmosphere, tasty beer, attentive service, food not bad but not the highlight of our dinner. Burger was boring tasting, buffalo chicken wrap was nice and spicy but lacked filling…it was truly all chicken and wrap, and tasted one dimensional. Both IPAs I had were of the American (not hazy) style and excellent. The Hefe was also very good. Brie app very tasty. Waiter mixed up the order twice, but attentive and nice. The live music was a quartet jazzy band and awesome.
I have been to this Brewery three times and absolutely love the staff they are very friendly and the service is excellent. I loved the beer and the food is good. Although this last time I ordered nachos these were very simple I wish they could put more effort in increasing the level of quality of the food. My fav choice of beer was the "Over the Moon" and a one I love and it was recommended by the friendly staff
I visited this place for a work happy hour. The food and atmosphere were great. I was disappointed, however, that there was not a non-alcoholic beer option. The bartender said it was because they only brew a few beers, but there are plenty of excellent NA beers available in cans. As a somewhat private non-drinker at a beer-focused social event I would have preferred to have a “beer” in my hand while maintaining my abstinence. I hope this place adopts a friendlier policy towards nonalcoholic beer. Other nearby breweries also don’t brew NA beers available but they carry Athletic in cans. I might suggest our group choose one of them over Haw in the future.
The beer is good, interior and exterior both nice. Would have been 4 stars, but the bartender had a 10 minute conversation with someone while I was trying to check out. Could have easily paused the convo to run my bill. I was the only other person in line. Ended up handing him $10 to cover my bill and tip.
Very disappointed. Been here twice, been disappointed both times. Today, at trivia, they are highly understaffed for the volume. There is no AC on a warm July night. There is a massive line at all times to get food and beer. When we ordered, we were told it would be a one hour wait for food. That is simply unacceptable for a restaurant when you are inside. They simply need to have more people working here today. The food was cold when we got it. Again, unacceptable. 1 star.
Nice environment but I didn't enjoy my chicken sandwich. It has way too much breading and way over cooked...burnt in fact. I liked the soft roll but it was too small for the hand sized chicken breast. Potato slices were good. I also didn't like how quick the cashier wanted to know if I was running a tab when I hadn't even ordered my food or a drink yet. The menu is interesting but none of the sandwiches came with a side, all ala carte. Not sure if I will return. Wish I had taken a picture of all the crust I had to remove $17 later.
Even though the bar is in Carrboro/Chapel Hill don't go in expecting to enjoy UNC games. Also friend asked for a water, and bartender/server said he didn't have time to get it. Severely understaffed! Food was okay.
The food and beer were average at best, but they had a 45 minute wait on food, and did not tell us until the food was almost ready. If guests are ordering food, the staff should tell them if there is going to be a lengthy delay so they can plan accordingly.
Not allergen friendly. We asked several staff about allergens in food, each responded with a shrug and an "I don't know", one even said "depends what's in it"...No one would check with kitchen, wouldn't check ingredients, packaging, nothing. If food allergens are a concern for you, avoid this place. I'm sure it's fine otherwise.
