By far my friend Chinese restaurant in the area. After having their General Tao’s chicken for the first time. They used all real meat! Wasn’t none of that half bread half meat you get from some restaurants. I’ll be coming to this location from now on. Hopefully you give this place a try after reading this review!

Authentic Chinese food that reminds me of home. The owner is very nice and has supported our sorority’s charity ball many times. They have been renovating and only offering takeout and delivery. If you are looking for some authentic Chinese food, I recommend ordering the dishes with Chinese name on the menu.

This is most authentic Chinese restaurant around Chapel Hill and Carborro. I started to order when I was a freshman. Right now, after 3 years, I am stilled amazed how delicious dishes are. My Chinese friends liked to have hot pot there before. They told me jade palace’s hot pot is like comforting food for them. Also, the lady worked there is really nice.

I’ll say it’s the most authentic Chinese food restaurant in Chapel Hill (I’m a Chinese). The trick is don’t order from the English menu but order those with Chinese names. (Yes they get two menus, one Americanized and one authentic Chinese). And just a personal feeling, the food is safer and the kitchen is cleaner than Gourmet Kingdom. Staff are nice too.

I would always and only get the red pepper chicken (also called Chongqing chicken or laziji). Super savory, super addicting. Also a very nice spice level, but doesn’t give the same tingly sensation like others I’ve had. The price is also decent for the portion size, which can also include a side of white rice. Take-out/delivery only, but super quick.

Food was good but can tell it has been…adjusted for the local demographic’s palette. Ordered wonton soup, only 3 wontons and no filling? That was a first. The wonton itself was very thick instead of delicate and bursting with filling. Twice cooked pork was delicious but I was hoping for a bit more heat. The cabbage and mushroom was good, sauce is on the sweeter side.

Lo Mein was p authentic but the wonton is bit weird. Awesome price for lunch specials. Spring roll is the most authentic one I’ve had in the States. Friendly staff. But it still doesn’t accept dine in due to Covid 😳 have you thought of changing this?

What it is Google. Had a quick 💨 lunch special today here and it was great. The service was okay - the waiter was definitely busy, serving multiple tables at once, so they took a while to come back. The food was great though. Highly recommend the General Tso’s lunch special - ask for “more spicy.” Ahh. Their egg drop soup was great too. 🤤🤤 Can’t beat their lunch special (11AM-3PM) for $7.50 - they have lots of other options too!

I was struck by how badly the store smelled upon entering. It was extraordinarily dirty and messy on the inside. Luckily the take out was ok, but come on management! You are a beloved Carrboro restaurant and you’ve let the brand drop. Hopefully someone there cares enough to address the issues.

Very disappointed in the food delivered from Jade Palace tonight. We ordered combination mei fun and pork fried rice. They both were the same brownish color which looked weird. But we hoped they might be well-seasoned with plenty of soy sauce. In fact, they had no flavor at all. The shrimp tasted a little off and the beef and pork had no flavor but a lot of gristle. The few small pieces of chicken tasted fine, thank goodness. But there weren’t many of them. We won’t be ordering from Jade Palace again.

The sesame “chicken” was some chicken chunks, but also chicken-sized lumps of dough. I’m perplexed. Is this an inflation thing? They also forgot the lo-mein in our order. Lastly, we ordered spicy but the food was blander than what we can cook at home 👎🏼

I used to go there all the time. The food was great. But now the food isn't as good and not worth the price. Yesterday I paid almost $10 for the lunch combination fried rice and I got 2 pieces of shrimp 2 strips of chicken and 1 piece of beef. I basically got a $10 plate of fried rice. I attached a photo of my rice plate after I ate the 5 pieces of meat. I tried to keep supporting them but I got the same thing last week and it was just the same as yesterday. A $10 plate of rice. I'm sad to say I cannot support them anymore.

On Christmas without telling anyone they shut off their online system, so people could pay and order but the restaurant wouldn’t get the orders. Then when customers showed up for their orders, nothing was filled nor could anyone get a refund immediately. They refused to make the food. When we had called earlier to check on the Christmas hours nobody mentioned this. Poor service overall, would not recommend supporting.

HUGELY disappointing! Ordered a crispy duck and Eggplant with Tofu, but what I ended up having is 60% broccoli. Just see this for yourself. Flavor also very underwhelming. WILL NOT order from this place ever again!!!!
