I visited this dim sum spot years ago and wasn’t very impressed at the time. But coming back with friends this time, we absolutely loved it. My favorite was the steamed egg custard and the skin on the black truffle mushroom dumpling was incredible so tender and chewy.

Have had dimsum in several different places in NYC. For me, Dimsum garden at 2nd ave x 56th st location is the best! Of course, all kinds of dimsum are delicious, and other foods such as noodles and rice are also very tasty. 😋

You know it’s good when a tourist eats here 2x in one day! 🤷🏽‍♀️ great food, friendly and prompt service. Clean facility.

The quality and variety of the food served here is really higher than I expected: vegetable roll was crunchy, hot and fresh; their beautiful hot and sour soup was tasty and nutricious; and the beef with spicy garlic entree had all the flavours on point. Service was good, decor is modern and ambience is clean and pleasant. * the review is of their lunch special Days later went to try out a dimsum option. Had the soup dumpling and some rose tea. Both were really good! Not changing my rating 👍👍 Also tried the dim sum sample the other day. 9 dim sums although, the size, wow! Maybe, if you are hungry, you’ll manage. I shared.

It was a nice experience, first time there. When I saw Dim sum I had to check it out. First I had jasmine tea, really good! Next I had the shrimp ball, it was crispy and I like that. Sauce was nice and sweet. I had chicken dim sum and that had a good flavor with the soy sauce. But my favorite was the duck dumplings. The rice paper dough dumplings was the winner! It was soft and can melt in your mouth. Taste good with soy sauce. WOW!! A must try! It was so yummy that I took an order to go. Next time I’ll try more things but when I go back I’ll definitely order more of the duck dumplings.

What a gem on the UES! The dumplings were fresh and authentic tasting (so much like our favorite places in Chinatown). The convenience of having such a close place for dim sum is amazing...and it's not only for weekend brunch! We had dim sum for dinner! A real treat! (Sorry about the attached pix: We were too busy eating to take proper photos as the dishes came out!!!) We will be back for sure! It is a little expensive but par for UES: $100 (with tip) for seafood pan fried noodles, turnip cakes, pan fried pork/chive dumplings, har gow, pork/shrimp shumai, soup dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls. The portions were pretty generous.

We recently stopped in for dinner with another couple. It was a little later than usual so most of the crowd was gone. We ordered shrimp shumai, truffle and mushroom dumplings, lobster special platter and sliced chicken with baby eggplant. All items were tasty and well cooked. We all had a good time and enjoyed the dinner. Waiter was very nice and attentive. We stopped in New Years Eve for our final lunch of 2025. We both had the lunch specials. Spring roll and ball, hot sour soup to start. Then one chicken with baby eggplant and one kung pao chicken. All very tasty. We came in late again but this time they were very busy. Still service was excellent.

The food was tasty and there were lots of choices. I enjoyed everything we ordered. The restroom was well maintained. The people who worked there were professional. It could get crowded. There was a wait when we were leaving (around 2PM)

All Dim sum dishes we ordered were very good and fresh(they have big shrimps and a lot of meat, not just thick shells). Service was okay. The restaurant smells funny, not sure why. They need to use some extra air filter system to filter some smell out. However the food was good and after sitting there for a while, you got used to the smell.

Nothing better than having warm, delicious dim sum when it’s drizzling on a February rain. We got a seat for two with no wait, always appreciated. The atmosphere was cozy with chatters from other diners barely noticeable in the background. The restaurant has a clean design from the wood and bamboo elements. We ordered chicken feet, soup dumplings, pork short ribs, durian pastry, sesame purple sweet potatoe balls, wrapped sticky rice, shrimp dumplings, and some oyster sauce lettuce. First thing first, the chicken feet is arguably the most balanced and flavorful I have had in New York City being a dim sum lover. The spices were distinctive without overpowering. The texture was just right without feeling soggy as sometimes they stay in the steamer or cart for too long. The xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) were another decent surprise on par with some of the best Shanghainese restaurants. Coming out piping hot while retaining so much succulent juices wrapped underneath a delicate skin that is not too thick. Sesame rice balls were perfectly fried with sesame flavor coming through and omg the pairing with purple sweet potato was a must try! Durian pastries were lovely if you are a fan, slightly on the oily side though. The lettuce, shrimp dumplings, sticky rice, and pork short ribs were on par but very decent portions. Overall good value with hefty portions and occasionally surprising execution! Servers were attentive: constantly helped us change dishes and had a fast food delivery. PS: Just not sure why the lettuce was $16 definitely not worth the price.

Excellent neighborhood dim sum. The restaurant is new and very clean. The service is friendly and attentive. The prices are very good for the high quality fresh ingredients that are used. The dumplings are some of the best I have ever eaten. New favorite local spot in Sutton Place, Midtown East neighborhood.

The Young Chow fried rice ($16.99 plus tax) was decent and had shrimp, roast pork, peas, carrots and egg. But for dimsum, the crispy shrimp with tofu skin roll (3 pieces for $7.50) was too oily and should have been drained better before being served.

In the late afternoon, feeling a bit peckish but not yet dinner hungry, having some dim sum dumplings sounded like a great idea. We ordered four (dim sum cost between $6.75 to $9) items from the menu to share, marking our choices on a paper menu with pictures and descriptions, which was super handy and helpful. While waiting for dim sum to come, we tried the Hong Kong Milk tea, which was absolutely delicious and a highlight of our visit. However, the positive experience ended there. The wait for our dim sum was surprisingly long, over 25 minutes, even though the restaurant was only half full. When the dim sum finally arrived, they didn't look very appetizing to be honest. The duck dumpling in a see-through dough resembled something like an alien, and unfortunately, the taste didn't make up for their appearance. All of them fell short of expectations and didn't hit the mark in terms of flavor. I am usually fighting for the last piece to have, but not this time, I did not enjoy them unfortunately. To add to the disappointment, the staff forgot to bring us the fourth portion we ordered. However, given our overall experience and the taste of the dim sum so far, we decided not to bother notifying the staff, paid our bill, and left. The interior had a modern design twist, which created a cozy, spacious, and well-lit ambiance, but it was air-conditioned way too much. I am sure other meals on their menu are delicious and flavorful, which is why I'm giving them a decent score. However I feel the dim sum didn't do justice to the reputation of the place. Visited on a Sunday, July 2023. Paid by card.

An overall ⭐⭐⭐ experience with this place, mainly coz of the food quality • The pork ribs were not made with fresh ingredients and had a gamy taste. • The Ma Po tofu was below average, as it lacked minced pork during the stir-fry process, which left the dish bland. Additionally, the spices used didn’t feel authentic. • The onion and pork dish (pictured in image 2) was honestly the only dish I found tasty. That said, the staff was kind enough to refund the steamed pork ribs and remained incredibly patient throughout. The restaurant is relatively new, with a clean and comfortable dining environment.

There is a young girl in a blue hat who doesn’t handle my food very kindly when I order for takeout. Whilst I wait for my order she sometimes just stares at me. She just lets the takeout bag slam onto her legs and bags don’t do that. Especially when the male server Whos slightly chubby hands me my food. Im unsure if it’s some sort of discrimination or racism issue that she has but I do not like the energy that she is bringing to the table. Please find servers who enjoy their job and are open to respecting every customer who comes in. I really like some of the food here but her vibe just ruined it for me. I take who handles my food very seriously but clearly not seriously enough if she’s going to do this.

I went there today for takeout. I ordered basic chicken and broccoli, which came with soup and a spring roll. I also ordered Mongolian beef with brown rice. The beef looked oily, pale looking and was rubbery. The chicken was also pale and rubbery. I won't be back, especially not spending $45.00, it wasn't worth it, at all!!!

The dumpling skin was little thick. And lack of soup at soup dumpling. The certain ham in fried rice was SUPER Salty.

recently our group experienced a very surreal dinner at this restaurant the food was normal Cantonese fair and quite average especially for the midtown location they specialize in dim sum all day with items considered upscale to match their location in midtown Manhattan Given the level of food offerings and the location of this establishment expectations of somewhat professional service was not an oversite so many times, groups like ours use to dining out adjust our expectations in both service and food levels we temper our expectations so as not to be disappointed when we are left wanting and needing this particular situation not only a huge disappointment but warranted a warning to other potential patrons. buyer beware during our dinning event someone at our table noticed a young waiter cleaning his fingernails and picking at the skin at his fingertips. when we witnessed his movements from his unhygienic behavior transition to serving our food without washing his hands, we were shocked and disgusted on a very discreet volume we asked if the dish could be exchanged his inability to acknowledge his actions further proved unprofessional he seemed to take pleasure in camouflaging his disgusting behavior beneath his poor grasp of the english language another guest at the table noticed the dirty apron wrapped around his waist and motioned for us not to waste our breadth. his apron was crusted with food and matched the level of cleanliness come to be expected the normal threshold of good hygienic acceptance is a sliding scale especially in a culturally diverse city with many offerings and style of cuisines but the limit exists when your personal health becomes at risk the food was exceptional but this interaction took away from all of that buyer beware

Service was good, staff was very attentive. The food was awful. My kung Pao chicken was way salty, I left most of it on the plate. The chicken felt deep fried. My husband's shrimp with broccoli looked very unappealing. The sauce was way too thick, like they overused starch. Overall felt like a panda express. The only good items are the dumplings.
