Great lunch spot during work, eat there once or twice a week
Old school, formica counter joint with fantastic burgers, at a most reasonable price!!
Cheap burgers that are really good! Recommend the pizza burger.
Solid burger for the price point. Quick and friendly service.
Good, straight forward burger. Meat seasoned perfectly
Great burgers, Turkey burger, and the best cheesesteak in the neighborhood
Great food and service!! Highly recommended
Great tasting food. Guys are always on point!
The best of all burgers in the NYC area.
This is a classic lunch counter. I always stop here if I am nearby around lunch time.
Miguel employee of this place is a hero, he went out of his way and saved a life.
Great food. Never disappointed
Called in for quick bite very good service
Great Burgers,Fried Chicken overall fantastic !!!
Had the Philly Cheesesteak. It was warm, soft, and cooked to perfection. Absolutely recommend.
No frills delicious burgers. Great fries too. Absolutely delicious.
I am happy you are doing well . I am the original owner from mid 1970's Good luck Gays.
Great burgers and fries, fast service and wonderful value
Best egg sandwiches in the city. Can't recommend it enough. Try the Swiss cheese!
Best hamburger I've ever had in a fast food place.
I've been going there for over 20 years. It's always great.
Top notch egg sandwiches. Always fast and always delicious. Cheese is well melted, and the Bacon's always nice and chewy with a little crunch.
They make a better than average burger here. More importantly, they do it the way you want Highly recommend.
This Jimbos is perfect! Wonderful service, workers are nice and funny. Make your time relaxing. Recommend alot and will come often.
Hamburger is so fresh Fries are crispy and skinny So yum
Great place for a burger. Small, but cordial workers.
Everyone chill. This isn't the Rainbow Room, it's a greasy spoon friendly neighborhood spot. I love their burgers.
Awesome burgers! Friendly service and quality food without a doubt!
Can't miss the original. Can't say enough great things about this place. Really enjoyed my meal
It was absolutely amazing, well cooked pattie without drying out the meat. Amazing!
Great burgers and service overall. And I was very surprised how nice their burger was.
Ok. So it’s not fine dining. It’s a burger joint. It’s Old School NYC. Small (tiny, really). Service was polite and food prepared to order. My daughter had pancakes and a burger — that’s what happens when you take a seventeen year old to an all-day breakfast/burger joint and say “get anything you want”. The milkshake was really good. The ginger ale very tasty. And she liked both the burger and the pancakes (leftovers in the fridge). I had the Texas burger with fries. Solid. I walked by this place for seventeen years. Today was my first visit. Wish I had gone in years ago. If you want easy-going eats, give it a try.
Good value. Atmosphere like old style neighborhood counter service. Friendly staff. Unpretentious. Put this place as part of our rotation of eating places.
I love this place for what it is and you will, too. Tiny space with quick service and great food and a fun mix of people. Sit at the counter. Burgers are great. Onion ring purists should stick to fries, but both are tasty. No one I've brought here has been disappointed.
Superior quality and taste! A highlight was the fresh preparation by the chef right in front of our eyes! We were completely satiated after our meal. Highly recommend!
Best breakfast and lunch ever. I love this place and the staff is awesome. It is so great. Don’t expect anything fancy but just some amazing food. Also it is a pretty small restaurant so you got to make sure there are enough seats for you and your company.
Good old classic style hole in the wall burger and breakfast joint. The burger patty was surprisingly really good and the owner and guys work hard and very efficiently. We need more of these kinds of places in the city. Just need a bit better communication skills 😉
A Hidden Gem Serving NYC's Best Cheeseburger Deluxe! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars As a self-proclaimed foodie with a refined palate for fine dining, I cannot help but wholeheartedly recommend Jimbo's Hamburger in NYC. This unassuming hole-in-the-wall joint, reminiscent of a cozy mini-diner, has won me over with their unparalleled Cheeseburger Deluxe, complete with crispy fries and a creamy, indulgent chocolate shake. Once a month, without fail, I find myself drawn to Jimbo's, where I am always met with the perfect balance of flavors and textures that can only be found in their masterfully crafted cheeseburgers. Made from nothing but natural ground beef and seasoned to perfection, each bite transports you to burger heaven. The freshness of their ingredients cannot be overstated, as the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onions are always crisp and full of flavor. Even the condiments are served with a nostalgic touch – ketchup in those seemingly impossible-to-use glass bottles and the classic yellow mustard, reminiscent of a simpler time. Although my heart lies with the culinary sophistication of fine dining, Jimbo's has captured a special place in my Midwest heart with their unbeatable cheeseburger. If you're in NYC and looking for the best classic American dish in town, look no further than Jimbo's Hamburger. This hidden gem is not to be missed!
Chicken souvlaki juice and delicious, fries are crunchy and fabulous Workers are so friendly and nice Definitely will go back
Love this old school place so much . Delicious burgers with toasted buns , shredded lettuce , tomato and pickles and cooked to perfection how you like it ! Skinny fries , good food and friendly , staff make this our go to spot for a meal in the neighborhood .
The Best of The Best! I Love this place... The Best Burgers and Fries in NYC! I Highly Recommend... They've been serving it Up for 60 years since 1961... Jimbos is Always a Good Idea... it is an NYC Classic...
Great old school no frills burger spot. A taste of old NYC. Its on a block that has a few old small business and it definitely has a local authentic feel to it. The burgers are nice and so is the staff.
May be the most perfect blt I've ever had. Staff were so nice, and I reckon it was pretty cheap. Will come back here if I have time.
I have been eating here since I was a kid. Love this place. Hands down the best burger in NYC.
Such a great burger. Fresh and delicious. Very nice owner with excellent customer service.
I placed an order for Two hamburgers. It tasted delicious 😋😋 I’d recommend
Best burgers in Midtown. Very small place but has everything you need. Friendly cooks and servers. I eat there every weekend.
No frills classic burger for a good price. Also the wing sauce is really good. Great spot.
This is the best tiny and cozy place! The chicken quesadilla is to die for. Very filling and worth the price. 10/10 recommend 🤗
Good burgers, solid place to sit down and grab a bite. I like how you can see them making the food, I can tell the kitchen is clean. Also good quality beef, looks like they prep the patties from ground beef, not premade patties.
Needed food quick and in a pinch. They were fast and the food was awesome. Great customer service.
Went there in 2018 with my father, one of the best experiences I had in NY and still tell everyone about it 7 years later! So much fun for someone from the Midwest as a tourist!!
Excellent burger 🍔 I highly recommend this establishment the staff was amazing the milkshake was delicious definitely gets a repeat visit
Stumbled across this place traveling with a group in the City! It was amazing. Food was great. Service was quick. Great experience. 9 people in and out in 30 minutes.

I love this little place so much. My go-to is the grilled chicken club but their burger deluxe is hard to beat! I've also had some breakfast items and it always hits the spot. A great neighborhood staple that i'm so happy to have! The staff is always friendly and do a great job.
Cheeseburger was really good. Funny, it was too big for me. Next time I'll ask them to smush it so it's not so big. Haven't been in for breakfast in some time but I always loved their scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Great neighborhood spot.
Small but cozy diner. Very clean. Love the esthetic. The owner was very kind and conversational. The food was simple yet very good. Reminded me of a small town diner inside to visit back in my home town. Would highly recommend.
Jimbo’s has great burgers and breakfasts. I love their BLT. The chef and owner are friendly and the chef is happy to customize your order. It’s a refreshing change from overpriced fancy burger places. You won’t be disappointed.
My first experience at this classic NY style burger joint. My cheeseburger deluxe was juicy, delicious and came with perfectly cooked fries. The service was prompt and friendly. Looking forward to returning!
These guys on 1st ave are very accommodating...the Food...lip smacking!!! Price!!!! well for what you get, I suppose it's worth it!!! I've been to this particular location three times and each time it was friendly and inviting.

Great place for a bacon swiss cheeseburger.
Food Was okay, service was great, uptown jimbos are way better though
For those that don't know, this is the original Jimbo's (not associated with the franchise), been in business since the late '60s. Good spot for a burger and fries.
Good food and service. I recommend to call in your order during lunch, gets pretty busy.
Perfect place for a quick lunch. Best burgers in Midtown and inexpensive. A greasy little spoon reminiscent of the ol' luncheonettes that have disappeared from Manhattan. You're not coming here for the ambience. The burgers are grilled to perfection every time, toasted bun, old school. Fries are crispy. They also have tasty breakfast plates and a decent selection of sandwiches.
Great little hole in the wall burger spot. I wouldn't call it a diner as it has a pretty small menu, I imagine it more of a cira 50's fast food joint. Fresh food great service and what they do they do well and don't try to be something they are not. There is a bare burger approx 5 blocks away but although I can find more exotic or inspired choices there I find myself returning to Jimbo's for the most authentic burger in this area. Nothing against bare burger they are great but if you want to see how good a simple burger and fries can be this is the place if you want to be.
This tiny little spot is great for breakfast and lunch staples. It's so small that I've never seen more than one person cooking behind the counter, I don't think there would be room for two. But, for that reason food can take a little bit, but it's not excessive.
Great hamburger, good price. Burger dives are too rare in NYC and this one hits the spot, plus it has really lovely outdoor seating!
Want a great burger and large order of thin crisp fries? Then Jimbo's is great. Small, vintage "joint" with rotating counter chairs; that is the ambiance.
I stopped by Jimbo’s recently to order two burgers for take out. One turkey burger and one cheese burger. Both with lettuce and tomatoes. Took them home for my wife and I to eat. Great service and delicious burgers. Will definitely will go again. If you eat in, please note only a few counter seats and a few tables.
I had the shrimp plate. Nothing special for the money. Maybe the burgers would be better, but I didn't try them.
A solid neighborhood chow spot. Food is good and the service is great! Are usually get the mozzarella and tomato omelette with egg whites.

The burger is nice and juicy. They have the potential to make this a really great burger - just needs some mayo, onion jam and a well buttered and toasted brioche bun and it will be amazing.

Meh. The burgers are mediocre at best.
Been going there for a while but yesterday about an hour after having a cheeseburger I threw it up. Think some people need to wash their hands.
So the food and atmosphere is great. One thing puzzled me...The person making my toasted bagel with butter seemed a little annoyed with me when I asked him to put new plastic gloves on before taking the bagel out of the toaster to butter....after I watched him pick up plates and silverware to give to other customers, wipe down the counter with a wet washcloth, put 4 slices of raw bacon on the grill to be cooked....can one do EVERYTHING with plastic gloves on...and still think they are clean?
So far only location i have been to that dont sell grits. Give order to exactly what we wanted and order man at shop, had an attitude and very rude.

Do not like their breakfast compared to the uptown one I now.
Over priced, mid grade to low quality food
I ordered 2 bacon "cheese" burger on monday june 17 @ around 1.50 or 2 pm...i got only the burger..no cheese neither the bacon..no flavor..and the worst part when i call the one who took the order he denied it...im a burger eater..i know good burger around such as five guys and shake n shack and i so not like this joint's burger..especially the one who took my order.
Was my favorite until today!! I'm so disappointed about the prices The owner says if you get a chiken sandwich on the roll or hero, it's the same price's because it is the same chiken? Such a rounded answer 🙄 The first time I heard!!
Would love to support them as they are a local business but the food I tried is sub-standard. $16 for a burger and fries. No beverage. Burger OK, it was small and nothing special. Fries had that freezer burn artificial taste and weren't even hot when served.
Frozen meat no flavor don’t listen to what topping you ask for , French fries are hard as a brick not living up to the hype

Let’s start by saying that this place is antique. The two young ladies are friendly but have conversations where they shouldn’t in front of customers (The young lady at the cashier’s was telling the cooker less talking more cooking customer is waiting jokingly). I ordered the Swiss burger deluxe and sub for onion rings. (Onion rings and fries are frozen and not fresh, from a company) they put the lettuce, onions and tomatoes on the side with the onion rings. The onion rings are 1.80 more…. Again frozen. The burger is simple with no seasoning and or taste. Plain meat patty. And yet they still charging more than McDonald’s for food that isn’t even great and frozen. Even if the meat was fresh it’s not grass fed and it’s tasteless… disappointing. Anyone saying the good taste good are out their mind…

Order a burger once I started eating it blood squirting all over the place ask why wasn't it cooked well he said that's how we make it never again rude and nasty
Worst service I've ever gotten. Guy who took the order acted like it was my fault he did the order wrong. I am afraid to eat there again and it was the worst burger i've ever had!
My experience was terrible, I called to place an order via phone since they take forever in person, of course my phone order was never taken they charged me 15 dollars for scrambled eggs with a side of bacon, they over charged me purposely never go there, on to of that my bacon was uncooked
Hamburger was ok. When I ask for check: Waiter "together or separate?" Me " how much?" Waiter "together or separate?" Me " how much?" Waiter "together or separate?" Me " how much?" Waiter "together or separate?" Me " how much?" Waiter "together or separate?" Me " I want to know price so I can make my decision." Waiter rolling eyes and walk away.
Food’s OK but small portions considering the price. I ordered online and when I got home I saw that they didn’t include coleslaw and pickles so I called them. They said it’s only for dine-in, which is totally untrue—photos attached (and I paid extra for it to come with the burger). I went back and they gave a spoonful’s worth of coleslaw and no pickle. It was in one of those tiny condiment cups so not sure why that paltry amount would be restricted to dine-in only. It’s a small local place so I get that people like it, but when I tried to show the Doordash app to the guy at the counter so that they could update the description if that’s their real policy, he didn’t even acknowledge me.
Please understand I love takeout food and love Jimbos burgers unfortunately some of the employees are very rude I was told today if I didn't want to wait it's up to me if I want to leave by one of the staff I Orderd a Philly cheesesteak sandwich they were doing a lot of takeout my friend wanted a cheeseburger and french fries he received a hamburger not a cheeseburger never got his fries The cook never put on the grill ofter sitting there for at least 15 minutes I ask where is my food I was told if I didn't want to wait I could leave I don't believe this is good customer service and the owners of the establishment should train there help on how to customer friendly they lost a good customer and a manager of a very big establishment that recommends them I'm sorry I will never patronize Jimbos burgers again or recommend them to any of my residents . We have a building system that we recommend restaurant in the neighborhood it is now been taking off the site.
Falsely listed on Seamless as delivering to my apartment, waited over an hour after ordering to call and ask where my food was (well after Seamless confirmed) and spoke to a very rude employee. Not sure how the food is but definitely won't be trying it after this experience.
THIS PLACE USE TO HAVE THE BEST HAND MADE BURGERS. NOW ITS ALL FROZEN AND OVER PRICED. BE AWARE. THEY TRY TO OVER CHARGE YOU EVEN THO THE NEW MENU HAS THE SET PRICES. THEY TRY TO RIP YOU OFF.
I visited Jimbo’s Hamburger Place, and honestly, the whole experience felt like a comedy sketch — just not the funny kind. I ordered an American bacon cheeseburger, got home, opened the box… and boom — no bacon. Not even a lonely crumb. The food wasn’t good, and the prices were all over the place. The menu said $11 with bacon, but somehow I ended up paying $19, plus extra for a drink. Meanwhile, the plain burger they gave me — without bacon — costs only $8. Math was mathing… but not in my favor. And the funniest part? Sometimes people look at me — a tiny sweet Asian girl — like I won’t notice anything. But listen… I may be cute, but I’m not so cute that I can’t tell when my bacon goes missing. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, overcharged, and bacon-less — which is honestly the worst part.
This place is horrible, will never go back again,I used to stop by once in a while from 2006-2025,I went today and ordered a delux burger that didn’t even come with coleslaw for 17.50,not worth the money, burger was very small, when the grill man slapped burger on grill the meat was brown?back in the day the meat was very red and looked good,I don’t know ever since the original owner left this place has gone down, you can see its always empty, I should’ve known better not to buy my burger from there. I should’ve went to seventh Street burger and got a burger from that place or even a local pizza shop would of been better…..horrible place don’t go here!!
Too noisy in the early morning. Residents beware this street is turning into “avoid restaurant row”.
Menu says $8.25 for just a plain cheeseburger. $1.75 in taxes and fees. Mind you, I'm actually here, and this is not delivery. I'll NEVER come here again or ever recommend this place. Service sucked as well. You might want to reconsider who you hire and how they treat your "future" customers.
