Came during work lunch hour. The food portion varies I wish the fries were crispy, and wish the service was faster. Other than that, everything was delicious and nice ambient. Felt like on vacation and relaxing. Would love to go back again.
Delicious food, everyone enjoyed their meal. My salmon was prepared really well and not over cooked. Nice ambiance with low volume groovy music. Menu is a little steep tho.
This is a very nice hidden gem to eat at! The service is outstanding, the atmosphere is very nice. I am a very picky eater, but was very satisfied with this food! The food was very well prepared and aesthetically pleasing. This is for sure a fine dining experience. I highly recommend eating here! This would be a great place to take a date!
One of my favorite Greek restaurants! We absolutely love dining here. Particularly in the summer, sitting outside is always such a joy. The food is always consistently perfect.
Wanted to try someplace new for lunch with a friend. Not only is this place beautiful, it makes you feel like you are on vacation to some exotic Greek destination. Add on top of that warm and inviting service and excellent food. This is my new favorite place!
Great food, opulent decor, and Greek atmosphere. The lump crab meat with mustard aioli was top notch. I also ordered the moussaka and brought the lamb instead. It was in fact a serendipitous moment and the lamb tasted awesome.
Great ambience and great wine. You may need someone to interpret the menu. Luckily, the staff are helpful here. They are also friendly and attentive. I had the best bean soup for an appetiser, Angus burger with fries for main meal, and some Greek dessert whose name I have forgotten. But it was delicious! I've uploaded a photograph of it. I'd come here again.
When it comes to Greek, this is a favorite. Amazing Octopus Sharas and Melitzana Feta. The service has been great both times we've come for dinner. The Ethos chips are a bit too abundant for only 2 to share but still good. Definitely recommend the Htenia (scallops), which wer ordered the last time. Wide variety overall. Best Greek restaurant in the city, and the atmosphere at night is great.
Great Greek restaurant! Everything we tried was delicious, beautiful decor and excellent service
Loved This Restaurant . The steamed sea bass was excellent, fresh, light, perfectly satisfying. The service was excellent. The staff was attentive and we didn't have to wait very long after finishing our appetizer before the entrees arrived. The ambiance is nice... mirrors.and murals. It's expensive yet warm and inviting. I can't wait to go back.
This place is amazing, the servers are wonderful , they have variety of wines and cocktails The food I said 20/10 delicious is perfect place for celebrate a special day or just go eat a amazing Greek food , I love it
I live locally. I have walked past Ethos many times. I love Mediterranean and fresh fish. I came by on a Tuesday night around 8pm. The friendly host found us a perfect corner table in the bar area. Then candle light and music set the tone for a nice dining experience. We had the Greek salad and baked eggplant to start. Very fresh ingredients with a lot of flavor. We finished with the whole fish Dorado, excellent and sole. I will definitely come back to this neighborhood gem.
Everyone & Everything, from the manager to the greeter, not to mention the main courses, made for a perfect & memorable evening for my wife. THANKU...
Excellent food and fresh fish.
Been here about 4x and it really does remind me of Greece. Every dish is outstanding.
One of the best all around greek restaurants in nyc. Amazing food and staff.
Excellent Greek food. Lamb was delicious
Our meal was delicious! We came to this restaurant many years ago but forgot the name. We have been on a bit of a mission to find the place. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during the pandemic Finally, we returned and the food was better than we remembered! We have eaten in almost all the Greek restaurants in Manhattan (even the expensive ones!) and this was the best Greek meal we have had in a long time We had a shrimp, tomato and feta appetizer, the halloumi cheese and the branzino. Each dish was well prepared, very flavorful and terrific The service was prompt, professional and friendly (especially Leticia)
Is didn't have to cost much to dine here, but I took my wife here for her birthday and we got some of their price stuff w/ 3 alcoholic drinks. The food was good and the service excellent. Very genuine hospitality. They gave us 2 shots of Greek liquor and a desert platter on the house for her bday. The Greek liquor is a must try. Sweet, strong and tasty liquor. Also try the Rhode Island. It's a zesty lemon alcoholic beverage out of this world. The stuffed grape leaves were on point. The steak seasoned and cooked to perfection. My wife would have liked a little more sea food in her seafood orzo dish. Very nice decor and atmosphere. The attribute is dressy casual, but not quite formal.Absolutely loved our experience here.
This a real Greek restaurant. They want you to take your time and enjoy each course and the people you are there with. The service is impeccable. You can expect if you come for a special occasion it will be treated as such. The food is delicious. Seafood is extremely fresh. Go for a special night and you won't be disappointed. Not many places like it left in NY. It makes it even more rare that it is seemingly isolated in midtown east on 1st ave like a treasure just waiting to be found.
We loved this seafood-focused Greek restaurant. Classy place with classy prices. We came here for Mother’s Day and left with one pleased and satisfied mommy! Even though you may find non-pescatarian options, not worth going if you don’t love seafood.
Amazing food, This place has the best Octopus Salad l ever had in my life. Everything was so good. Service is on point. Place were very clean. Will definitely be back !
Gorgeous restaurant with excellent food. The portion sizes are very generous. What I noticed the most was the service. Everyone worked as a team. They were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
The food was good. The waiter was nice. The restaurant isn't hard to find. The prices for the food were decent. They probably should add more non-fish meat options though.
If you like Greek food, I advise you to go there. Very nice salads, very nice appetizers and the main course is really delicious. I liked the seafood the most there. Summary, it is a very good Greek restaurant in Manhattan.
Now this is an excellent lunch spot. Low key. Great service. We went around noonish the service was incredible ! Waiters were on their A game at literally every occupied table. The ambience was perfect if it wasn't for the busy city streets being their normal selves You could almost forget your in a nook in Manhattan. The food was fresh the olive oil was high quality. The portions were robust. This is a must visit ! Definitely looking forward to returning !
I recently celebrated Valentine’s Day with friends at Ethos Mediterranean restaurant, and it was an incredible experience. We ordered a variety of Mediterranean dishes, and each one was delicious. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything was bursting with flavor. The ambiance was perfect for a celebration, and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend Ethos to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
The food is Excellent! I highly recommend the spinach pie. It's my favorite, and it's the best I ever try in Greek places in Manhattan. I also recommend the fried calamari and sesame feta! The ambiance is lovely, and the atmosphere is welcoming! It’s already my 4th time here!
Wait staff very polite. No one tried to rush us. The watermelon salad was delicious and refreshing. My generous portion of haddock was perfectly cooked with creamed cauliflower and julienne cut squash. An enjoyable experience.
Food was very tasty though we probably ordered too much. We had octopus, calamari and dips/pita for appetizers and the octopus and dips were excellent. I had the orzo for dinner and it was quite rich and a large portion I just couldn’t finish (probably from over ordering apps)
Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner. Not only was the food incredible but every time they bring out a birthday cake, they dim the lights and blast music as the waiters carry the dessert with a lit sparkler to your table. It was a truly unique experience. Great food. Great service. Highly recommended for a birthday experience.
We decided after dinner at home to step out for an appetif. A warm summer breeze was blowing off the river, couples were out in their summer finery, families out and about and lots of pups on their evening stroll -- owners in tow. Ethos warmly welcomed us encouraging us to choose any free table outside. We sat at the corner sipping tall glasses of chilled prosecco, enjoying a NYC summer evening at its best. We stayed for two rounds, well cared for by our wait staff. Ty Ethos. We will be back for dinner soon!
Great People, Awesome atmosphere the décor makes you feel like your in Greece and also at home at the same time. Now the food really is out of this world. Really did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and the suggestions were on point. definitely will come back with my entire family next time
My wife and I went there on Monday and we had an absolute amazing time. The staff was friendly and professional. Wines were absolutely perfect. Food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely go back. We done management and owners.
2nd visit update, Sept24: The wines are absurdly marked up, like 400% or more. It’s enough to keep me away. It left me feeling ripped off. I had the moussaka again, nothing wrong with it but I just didn’t love it. The saganaki was good but $19 for a piece of gooey cheese is a little crazy. Same for the loukaniko which is $20 for sausages. The place looks very busy, filled with much older upper east side types. It’s a nice room and the service was efficient but a little crisp. I kinda felt that we were being rushed out although there were still empty tables. 1st visit, Feb24: Nice midtown east Greek restaurant, service was friendly and efficient and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Came for lunch to meet with friends. Service is nice, food if good, interior is tipical mediterranean. Prices not low, but manageble. Can't say same thing for wine. More than $50 for a bottle of Pinot Grigio is a bit too much. In general place is nice.
Great appetizers. Octopus is so good. The service was ok not great. Fish is well cooked. I would love to come back for dinner time for sure.
Since their reopen the food has been good however a noticeable decrease in overall experience. Still a great option!
Things have changed here. No more loud music and seems a new management is running the place . All for better. Food is better now and atmosphere is very pleasant. Service could improve. Had a good time
Spanakopita is very good. Seafood is very fresh. Prawn is slightly over cooked in the rice. The complimentary dessert is superb.
Great Greek in mid-town. Solid menu with great choices (lamb was fantastic), easily accommodated a large party, drinks were good and service kept it all together. Great time was had by all!
Update 4/29: We initially fell in love with this place because of the quality of the ingredients. Our second visit was disappointing. The vegetables were not ripe, the ethos chips not as tasty and more oily, and the fish was bland. None of the lovely Euro music as before, just American pop. An off day or due to the new management? Hoping to come back and give it another shot to relive our first experience. — Excellent and true Greek food (my boyfriend is from Greece and was astonished by the quality). Loved the spanakopita, ethos chips, and tomato salad. Food is farm to table and vegetables taste out of this world (European style). We immediately asked where they source their produce after recognizing the distinct taste in their tomatoes. Even their olive oil is very clearly from Greece once you try it. Very romantic and cozy. Will be back!
OK place. Lively during Wednesday Dinner. Very busy, honored reservation, tasty food, clean looking large dining room. Crowded and really loud. Straining to hear well. Mini-dessert plate brought for free when we declined coffee or dessert.
First time in my dining experience the Sea bass had terrible smell I'm sure it was sitting in the kitchen for one reason or another, heated up and brought to my table. After I ordered the fish it took hardly ten minutes to have the fish served. I used to frequent this place and it was half decent. Now the other half has gone
I had a group dinner here. The entire table thought the food was meh. More specifically, the ingredients weren't very fresh or well done for this price point. I ordered a ribeye and it tasted more like a skirt steak. Half the table didn't finish their food. And to top that off it took us probably 25 or 30 minutes to pay the bill because they were rigid and didn't want to split the check. Plus they had a rule that they could only take four credit cards. We are in a high-tech world and there should be a way for us to easily pay for our own items, especially in a mixed crowd.
Nice location and great cocktails but food and service was subpar. Staff interrupted 3 times just 10 min after receiving appetizers asking if we were ready for next course, once would've been fine but we ended up feeling rushed. ordered lamb chops medium rare and they were fully cooked. Sent them back and second batch was still overcooked. Shrimp linguine dish was overcooked and underseasoned. Staff was apologetic so maybe it was an off night for the restaurant. The Tomato salad & zucchini chips were delicious.
Whole fish was old and smelly. We couldn’t finish it. Not briny like it was supposed to be. We asked for more bread 3 times and waited 20 mins for extra pita who is served soaking with oil.
I was excited to try just another Greek spot and unfortunately this quite pricey dinner was so far least favorite Greek place. The mezze plate was so not exciting, fried cheese is probably worst I she ever had. Soggy fried crust, not fully cooked, and strange sauce that saturated into soggy fried crust. Compared to what I have hat in the past it was terrible. Main course were just ok and everything was over $30. Portions were so huge which kind of was not appetizing so wish server told us so we could share. Overall dinner was 300 with 1 drink each for 3 of us. Felt like it was a waste.
We wanted to end our holiday on a nice meal out but ended up being the worst place we went to all week. It felt like they just wanted us out the whole time. We walked in on a staff meeting rather than the door being locked. The menu doesn't offer any non alcoholic drinks and it doesn't explain what is exactly on the plate. The calamari was over done; I was chewing for ages. We ordered a medium done steak share and it was close to blue. The fries were very oily. We had 3 different servers and everyone seemed to avoid us a lot.
The staff, particularly day host is not so polite. He can't understand that a little smile goes a long way. The place add automatic "Gratuity" to bill, even for 3 people! For lunch! Automatic gratuity is ok for large group but for 3!? Food is so-so.
