Just went in for a simple LAMB BOTI and received sandwich from NIRVANA! fresh, flavourful and super hot and savoury! Best I ever had, to be honest! And I've lived in DUBAI!
This hidden gem blew me away with one of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever tried. Why there’s no line to dine at this place is beyond me. Absolutely delicious!
The restaurant family extends beyond blood relations here. The food deserves praise. Fresh ingredients and nice people work here. Restaurant staff combine deep knowledge with outstanding customer care. People are right about Himalayan Curry House Restaurant and Bar - it delivers a superior experience.
Wow...this food is to die for ! What an amazing explosion of flavors. We had 4 different dishes and we couldn't decide which one was better. Highly recommend it. I do wish it had a better atmosphere & ambience. It should be decorated Himalayan style. But never the less absolutely delicious meal.
Delicious kinda/not really hole in the wall place. Highly recommend for a normal meal. Naan was super fluffy with a subtle crispy shell. Chicken tikka masala and lamb curry were both very good. Place won’t disappoint if you’re looking for a good Indian curry place. At least for me as a basic non discerning Indian food lover.
This place taught me a lesson. When a New York menu says something is hot, it means it. I'm thinking that Midwest hot is New York mild in most cases. That being said, the food was really good. I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo and a Kathi Roll. The Vindaloo is what made me realize the difference in spiciness ratings. The first bite I took was like fire. Good fire but fire nonetheless. There were a couple of sauces on the table that I ended up using pretty liberally to take the edge off the heat. I'd don't know what they were but they helped me survive my dinner choice. I had never had a Kathi Roll before and was totally impressed with it. I love cottage cheese and was intrigued by the idea of homemade cottage cheese being mixed with onions and peppers. It was definitely the highlight of my meal. But it was also pretty big. Service was good, restaurant was in nice shape and the prices seemed reasonable. I left with clear sinuses and a full, if somewhat scorched, tummy. I would definitely go back again but I'd be downgrading the heat ratings on my food.
Wonderful meal, had the vegetable Thali and really enjoyed the meal. The menu has a large selection and they also had a buffet option. Decor is simple and not extravagant but you will not notice that while eating, flavours are definitely unique and different, reflecting the Nepalise style of cooking.
Loved getting to have some delicious food from here! Included my receipt for price perspective after taxes. All the food was freshly made, and didn't take long at all to come out. The momo was the only thing that took some time but my server gave me the heads up when I ordered it so I wasn't surprised. Definitely recommend!
I got the chicken momo with gravy to go. The dumplings were delicious and packed with meat. The stuffing was dense and flavorful. I could taste the hint of ginger. The 8 dumplings were smothered in the gravy sauce. The sauce was a bit spicy and sour. It was delicious and perfect for a cold day. Overall, it was a good meal and I’d like to come back again and try different dishes. By the way, the server was very helpful and friendly.
Pretty good Indian food. Tried a few different things togo: -chicken chettinad (lunch) -aloo ghobi (lunch) -bullet naan -vegetable samosa Vegetable samosas are some of the best I've had. The lunch platters, as expected, are mostly rice, but they gave a good portion of daal, what looks like a dash of matar paneer, and then a small portion of the protein. The aloo ghobi is okay. The chettinad is a flavor I'm less familiar with but decent spice, and a hint of pepper. I would definitely get again. The dessert was a favorite of mine - one ball of gulab jamen. It tasted like it was straight out of a tin can unfortunately. Worth giving a shot when nearby. Going to have to give the himalayan food a try too.
My husband and I were staying in a nearby hotel and decided to try this. I do not recommend it. I’ll detail here. The papadam, complimentary tortilla like chips were super salty and the 2 dipping sauces awful, especially the chutney one which was watery like balsamic vinegar. Inedible. Put them aside. We ordered chickpeas (Chana) masala which were just ok. Then 1/2 chicken tandoori which was good. The naan was ok. The 2 rice orders were very black and did nothing to enhance the already mediocre food. We ordered to yoghurt sauce to to try to improve the meal and that failed, it was just plain yoghurt with some scallions in it. The ambience was very depressing and there was only one other table with customers. Looks like a sad lonely bar. So many better places. Service was good but did not make up for very subpar food. I do think some of the rave positive reviews here on the restaurant are not real, they can’t possibly be.
Came here for the buffet after seeing it online. We were charged $56 for the buffet and drinks. After I checked my bank account, I saw a $64 charge. I did not leave a tip, so I do not understand why I was charged $8 more than the total. The service did not match the price. It was a self service buffet, and we still waited over 15 minutes for our naan. This was frustrating and disappointing. I hope the charge gets explained or corrected.
I never had to call 311 on restaurant but today all that changed when i found a sharp piece of metal in my food. What a terrible error to make when serving food to thousands of people - who knows who woke up today with a bad stomach or even had to go to the hospital because they had the misfortune of eating a contaminated meal from a restaurant they trusted. These kinds of slip-ups CAN NOT HAPPEN. EVER. I was a frequent customer of this establishment but after this, I will never be ordering from here again and i would suggest you don't either.
I recently went to a restaurant with a friend. We arrived around 9:00 PM, and there was still an hour before closing. The lady at the front counter wasn’t very friendly. I asked if the restaurant was closed, and she just said no. I pointed to a table I wanted, but she kept pointing back at me with a staring look on her face , like I already had a seat. It wasn’t a great start, so we left. The server’s behavior was strange, and it wasn’t a good experience for us. I hope the restaurant fixes this and improves their service. Later, we tried the other resturant dish. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. It’s important to remember that when choosing a restaurant, the food is just one thing to consider. The service and food quality are also important.
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. I asked for pan fried dumplings but they gave me overly cooked and it was burnt too. I could literally taste the burnt texture in my mouth. I asked one of them if they could replace it but they refused. I overheard the person inside the kitchen was bit loud at the waitress too!
