Napoleon Dynamite once tried to win the girl of his dreams with a plate of delicious sea bass. After having the Chilean sea bass at Firebirds, I finally understand the strategy. This fish could make anyone fall in love. Perfectly cooked, fork-tender, and packed with flavor, it came paired with wild grains and broccoli. And yes—I need to pause here and give credit where it’s due: they know how to cook broccoli. That shouldn’t be rare, but somehow it is. No mush. No crunch. Just right. Our server, Jana, told us the sea bass is one of their most popular dishes—and now I know why. My wife went the classic steakhouse route with the $40 option: Caesar salad, steak, potatoes au gratin, and bread pudding for dessert. A timeless lineup, executed exactly how you hope it will be. We started with the chimichurri shrimp appetizer, served with corn salsa and a goat cheese sauce. Any pretense of fine-dining etiquette immediately vanished—I wiped that plate clean with the complimentary bread and have zero regrets. So if you’re wondering where to go for a great steakhouse dinner, I’ll just say this: “Shut up, Tina. Come get your dinner at Firebirds.”
This is my favorite place to dine for several years in a row. I try something different each time I visit. Very pleased with the menu sellections, each dish is full of fantastic flavors, plenty of tasty beverage options, the atmosphere is comforting, pleasant to the eye, cozy and inviting at several locations in the Phoenix valley. I did have an experience once, the server had forgotton my silverware/napkin setting, I had to ask for to begin to eat. Minor mistake. The quality of the food dishes and atmosphere gets by attention to return often. Thank you for your dedication to serve the community. Photos are the Chandler location.
Food, drinks, and service are always excellent. Reservations need for dinner unless you want to wait. Has a very nice happy hour with affordable drinks. The 3 course meals are very delicious.
We had such a great experience at this restaurant. We made a reservation for 7pm but they were running a but behind, the made sure the keep us informed and they gave us complimentary appetizers. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. I will definitely be going back.
We came here on a Saturday evening for my husbands birthday & the service was absolutely incredible! When I reserved our table online, I left a note that we were celebrating his birthday, so when we got to our table they had this cute little birthday message board set up. Our server Blake, was great! Very attentive & even helped me decide on my meal. All the other servers were very friendly, especially to our toddler! The food was absolutely delicious. My husband got the NY strip steak, medium rare, which was cooked to perfection. I got the steak penne which is probably one the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The portion was large enough for me to share with my toddler & bring some home. Still thinking about how good it was 🤤 at the end of our meal, Blake brought out this cute dessert at no extra charge. It was overall a great experience, not too busy but started to pick up as we left. Our reservation was for 5pm so it was the perfect time
The food and atmosphere were great, but our server made the experience truly special with her kindness and attentiveness. The restaurant has a cozy rustic vibe, the dishes like lobster queso and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were delicious and we will definitely be back.
Ashley, our server was perfect! The pineapple martini was the reason why we came there and it did not disappoint! We had sliders and deviled eggs, and they both were just awesome!
My boyfriend and I decided to stop by the Chandler location after a quick review of their online menu. The restaurant was near closing time, we arrived around 8:30PM on a Tuesday, there were a few other tables seated as we entered. We received a warm welcome by the hostess and were promptly seated in Jillian’s section. Jillian started us off with waters without us needing to ask, gave us plenty of time to look over the menus and even offered a cocktail menu which we gladly accepted. My boyfriend enjoyed the cherry old fashioned which was perfectly crafted, while I sipped on the seasonal Tennessee twilight (which to my delight featured Owen’s Ginger Beer). Shortly after our drinks arrived we received our order of the Deviled Eggs, which were absolutely sensational. The whipped filling left us craving more, the candied bacon still has my mouth watering, and as our first bite of the Firebird menu we knew we were in for an experience with the main course yet to come. My boyfriend enjoyed the grilled salmon it was flavorful and featured a perfectly crisped exterior, with a loaded baked potato on the side that was equally satisfying. I ordered the Chilean sea bass that had me feeling like Remi from Ratatouille savoring every bite. We finished off our meal with the chocolate brownie that was the perfect balance of chocolate and vanilla with the caramel drizzle to pull it all together. The staff was very attentive and friendly, Jillian was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave many great suggestions, and the bar manager stopped by to ensure we enjoyed our drinks. We look forward to returning to this location again soon, and celebrating every possible occasion with the delicious offerings!
I took my wife here for her birthday & it was our first time trying it we were beyond impressed! We ordered the onion rings as our app and they were perfectly crunchy and yummy! She ordered the grilled sirloin steak medium rare and she was stunned she absolutely loved it it was cooked just right af medium rare the steak was so juicy and tender it was cooked with bacon butter and the flavors just melted in our mouth! Shout out to Rene the cook honestly hands down top favorite steaks we have had and we eat at many different steak houses! I personally had the baby back ribs and they were delicious the meat was nice and tender the meat would just fall off ! & For desert we had the creme brulee cheese cake it was so sweet and delicious! Our server Zack was truly a professional he was on top of it and very attentive and sweet ! Amazing customer service!
Wow had the best smoked hot wings I’ve tried thus far! The wood fire smoke flavor was delicious and the wings were the perfect mix of juicy and crunchy. Literally PERFECT I can’t stop thinking about those wings lol The deviled eggs and Parmesan truffle fries were really good too. We just came in for bar snacks and drinks but will def be back to try the full dinner menu because all of the food looked so good. Staff were young but overall pretty nice. Food 10/10 Service 8/10 A must visit spot if you’re in the area! ❤️
I was definitely impressed by everything very good food amazing service. We came in for our 11 year anniversary and I would highly recommend this place for your anniversary night. Blake was efficient fast kind freindly all together a awesome server. The food was amazing I got the firbird pasta and my wife got the sirloin dinner everything was cooked to perfection my compliments to the chef. We will definitely be back such a great experience keep up the great work 🙌
I showed up a little less than an hour before they closed and was treated to the most excellent service and care. The food was amazing, filet mignon is a must along with Parmesan mashed potatoes. Dessert: warm brownie. Nicki was excellent, made me feel very welcome and taken care of.
I just LOVE Firebirds! The ambiance is very cozy, the service is spot on and friendly, and they also have a GREAT Happy Hour that isn't just tasty, but filling too. Molly (the bartender) was awesome both times my boyfriend and I came to visit, and she makes some of the highest quality cocktails and martinis. We ended up sharing the Steak Tacos, Crispy Cauliflower (Thai sauce on the side), made in-house bread and 3 drinks all for under $50! I'll definitely be back very soon!
The food at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill was outstanding! Every dish was bursting with flavor, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waitress, Zoey, was super nice and attentive, making the experience even better. However, the restaurant was quite chilly, and we found ourselves getting cold, which was a bit uncomfortable. Despite that, the delicious food and great service made the visit worthwhile. A little adjustment to the temperature, and it would be perfect! 😉👍
Had the full cesear salad and the bacon wrapped deviled eggs appetizer. It was delicious and also a lot of food. You could easily eat the eggs as a meal itself. Parmesan flakes were huge shavings on the salad which is personally preferred. My mom had the steak and had no complaints. The menu is a great option for someone on the carnivore diet. Will be back!
Our server Breanna was the best. Started with Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, main was the Firebirds chicken pasta which was absolutely delicious.
Was looking for a good steakhouse to take my lady for her birthday and I can say I made a great choice! The food was amazing, our waitress started off a little rocky but in the end she made our experience great! The drinks were pretty good too!!!! We will definitely be back!
Firebirds in Chandler, AZ, delivered an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. Starting with the deviled eggs appetizer, every bite was a flavorful delight. The pineapple martini was perfectly balanced—refreshing and tropical. The fresh green salad with cilantro lime vinaigrette was crisp and vibrant, setting the stage for the entrées. The Chilean sea bass was an absolute standout: tender, moist, and cooked to perfection. The NY strip steak, cooked rare with a perfectly charred crust, was pure indulgence. The tangy elote corn was the perfect complement. What truly made the evening exceptional was Elisha, our server. She was attentive without being intrusive, bringing a warm, professional energy to the table. Her humor and thoughtful service elevated the entire experience. Firebirds is a must-visit, and we can’t wait to return. Bravo to the entire team! 5 stars all the way!
If the day comes when they have to give me the needle or electric chair, I want this to be my last meal- it's THAT good! 😉
We had a wonderful dining experience, with excellent service and a delightful atmosphere. Our server was courteous and professional, and our food arrived promptly. We highly recommend this establishment and look forward to returning in the future.
Really enjoyed our visit here. We had a Valentines Day special, which included an appetizer, two entres and a dessert. Everything was excellent! Lobster queso appetizer was so good! Crab cakes... out of this world! I would eat here often if these were a regular menu item. The tomahawk porkchop was very nice, too! The chocolate cheesecake dessert was one of the better cheesecakes I've experienced. Overall, we were very happy with the entire experience.
Always great food and service. Prices are very reasonable. We often take my elderly handicapped father and the staff is always so helpful and accommodating. Our favorite!
Jenna was our server she was freindly, knew the menu, was kind,. I was impressed when the food was delivered it went to the correct person without asking who had what. Hats off to the cooks food was amazing the three course meals chefs kiss.!
Jenna our server made our experience here very wonderful. Typically we go to the Gilbert location, but we may reconsider our primary firebirds location after our wonderful experience tonight. I also appreciated her patience with questions and willingness to give viable suggestions.
We came in on Saturday night around 6:30. We didn’t have a reservation so they set us in the bar area, which is pretty nice. Ashley was our server and was fantastic. I asked for my steak cooked between medium rare and medium. It came out perfect. My girlfriend ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and she’s non dairy (I know right) Either way, Courtney (The Manager) came to our table and explained that she couldn’t do the Sea Bass exactly like it was on this menu and gave us several options. They came up with a happy medium, and she was very professional. We all loved our food. We actually stayed for quite awhile because it was a close game 7 of the World Series and their cocktails are pretty amazing. I can’t recommend them enough, especially the “Double black diamond martini”. Overall, this was a good experience and these people actually take pride in their work…which seems to be a lacking virtue these days.
We ate there for my wife's birthday. We made a reservation and they got is in right away. They had a bday sign at the table. The service was really good. The food was amazing. They gave my wife a really nice birthday desert. We would definitely go there again. Highly recommend for a special occasion or nice dinner.
The service and atmosphere were genuinely outstanding. The restaurant is beautifully designed and creates the expectation of an exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately, the quality of the steaks did not align with the elevated setting. The flavor and tenderness were comparable to what one might find at a mid-tier chain such as Black Angus, which was unexpected given the significantly higher price point. I ordered the 7 oz. Filet Mignon, priced at $43, and found it to be simply average. At this level, I anticipated a noticeably superior cut and preparation. It is worth emphasizing that our server—and every staff member we encountered—provided excellent, attentive service throughout the evening. My concern is that considerable investment appears to have gone into the expansive building and overall presentation, perhaps at the expense of prioritizing premium ingredients. A final personal note: I believe a high-quality filet mignon should not be wrapped in bacon. A superior cut should stand on its own without the need for additional, lower-grade meat to enhance its flavor or texture. While the bacon can be omitted by request, its default inclusion suggests it may be intended to compensate for an underwhelming cut of beef.
Had a wonderful meal here. Service was great... atmosphere was wonderful.... Was speaking to the manager and he mentioned a new one being opened up in North Phoenix. Can't wait. Especially since we live in North Phoenix. Norterra area.
What a great choice for an anniversary lunch celebration! The table had a silk flower bouquet with an anniversary card signed by the staff and they asked how many years we were celebrating. At the end of our meal, they brought a complementary cheesecake, beautifully presented with our number of years we were celebrating. The service was fantastic, and all of our meals were excellent. A memorable celebration!
The food was next level - the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were out-of-this-world good, easily a must-order. Every bite hit. Service was flawless, we sat outside right in front of the fireplace, which made for an awesome setup for a family event or team dinner. Drinks were on point too
Loved the food, the service, and the atmosphere! The service was helpful, polite, and understanding. I went there to eat dinner and everyone who was with me agreed it was a great restaurant. And they gave warm wash cloths for the bbq wings. All the waiters there were extra respectful when you were walking through, and they even bagged our door for us. Highly recommend.
Wow! If you want more bang for the buck then I strongly suggest Firebirds they have this build your meal for $39.99 and that includes dessert. All good choices including steak and salmon here as well. Two people can definitely feast off of this .great atmosphere. Great service meaning they're always checking up on You! It's nice to have your server spend a few minutes and engage in brief conversation. This makes it feel at home!
We watched Tony (the bartender) have a glass shatter in is face yet he remained calm, attentive and alert enough to overhear me mention my friend’s birthday (to her). Next thing I know a beautiful dessert was before her with a candle aglow. I did not even think of that! Great service and slurp - the pineapple martinis are delish. Wonderful place!
The food was a bummer today. The fried fish tacos didn’t meet my expectations and lacked flavor (unlike the past). The waiter was sweet enough to get us a cheese cake on the house - which was very tasty - torched on the top with fruits and cream . Loved it ! My mom also loved their diamond martini.
We've only gone to gilbert twice and chandler this one time. I feel that gilbert was better. It was our anniversary and they gave us a hand signed card. Service here was great, staff super friendly, manager said hi. My steak was not great but it was a steak so I ate it. Did nit complain. Wife's salmon was great. Drinks were very good.
Great experience at Firebirds! Went there for dinner. Had a reservation. Got seated on time. Ordered a couple cocktails which were outstanding - one was a margarita and the other was an old fashioned. Got the table bread, which is warm and tasty with the whipped butter. For appetizers, got the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls - Wow! These were great and, for me, something I would come back for. For dinner we had the Grilled Salmon and Shrimp, Steak Frites and BLT Salad. All were very good. If I were to pick a little, I would say for the medium cooked Steak Frites, the steak was a bit dry and maybe more on the well side... For desert, we had the Creme Brulee Cheesecake and the Big Daddy Chocolate Cake - neither disappointed! The service was good, but we did feel a little rushed. I felt like we were being pushed through each course versus being allowed to enjoy drinks, then appetizers, then dinner and then desert. What made it really weird, was getting the bill delivered to us by our server before we received the deserts. Very strange and I can't say this has ever happened to me before. Certainly not at this caliber of restaurant. Regardless, I'd go back. Great food. Service can use some tweaking, but overall a good dining experience.
This was my 2nd visit to this location. There is plenty of parking because it is on the perimeter of the Chandler Fashion Center mall. 🚘 We were surprised how full it was for lunchtime on a weekday. We only had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated, though. When you enter, you will see the bar area. 🍷🍸🍹🍺 The dining area is very open and since they were busy, it was kind of loud. The chefs are actually on display in their area as they prepare your food. 👨🍳👩🍳 My spouse ordered a steak dinner and I ordered one of the items advertised for their monthly specials. My order was a sandwich and a salad. My husband added a salad to his meal. The server offered us some bread, which was a crusty bread that came with some whipped butter. 🥖🧈 My spouse was asked if he wanted his salad out before the meal. Since I also had a salad, I figured that they would both be brought out together. My spouse was served his salad by the expeditor, who walked away before I could ask where my salad was. 🥗 My sandwich didn't look exactly like the photo, but it tasted fine. The salads were fresh mixed greens with chopped tomatoes and bacon. The bacon was a bit chewy, I would have preferred crispier bacon. 🥓 My spouse's steak was tasty, but a bit undercooked. It was a very thick-sliced ribeye. 🥩 He didn't send it back. It was a large steak so he just ate around the outside and took the rest home to re-cook later. 😊Our server was friendly, but seemed a bit rushed or overwhelmed. My spouse and I have both worked in the restaurant industry and we were not in a hurry, so we understood. If you were in a hurry, this is probably not the best pick for a quick lunch, unless you order it before you come or for a to-go. 🐦🔥Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is the perfect place for carnivores, but not a lot of choices for vegetarians or vegans. 🍖🍗🥩🥓 Our food was good. Prices were moderate to high depending on what you order. 💲💲💲💲
Food is great restaurant beautiful. Our server Rachel was spectacular. Friendly and very professional, definitely knows her stuff . Deviled eggs Yes! Nice thick New York cooked perfect.
I eat here all the time. The Au ju sauce best in the city. I see people gave it a few stars lower than me but I’m assuming they went during Valentines Day the busiest day of the year!!!! Not saying it’s an excuse but I eat here all the time n it’s a hit every time. Love this place
Cool place. Went on V day, so that could be a contibuter to the food quality and service. We each ordered the 3 course meal, desert never came. But they did track us down in the parking lot and gave a 20.00 got card for the desert. App was soooo good. Shrimp cocktail, the sauce was one of the better cocktail sauces I've had. Entrees were decent. He had steak, cooked medium, amd cooked perfectly. What wasn't perfect was the saltiness. Too much. I had somw chicken dish, again too salty. However, nice and tender. Parm mashed, not my favorite. To drink I had a raspberry mocha martini YUMMMMYYYY!
Went there on Valentine's Day, not as busy as expected. Tortilla Soup - Good Steak Sandwich - Too chewy and messy French Fries - Were ok Lemon layer cake - very good
Alright. Food was yum. Was Friday night busy but still drinks were forgot and food was a little more slower than I would expect. Got the 3 course special but didn’t get the special service. Salad came out until I asked and dessert way later. Drinks were weak. Hope the service is better next time.
We’ve been to Firebirds in Tucson and this location is good but quite up to our expectations. First, they served a Margarita in a tiny glass filled with ice. Three gulps and it was gone, expensive for $15. They didn’t have one of the desserts then came with the three course meal and didn’t offer an alternative. I wanted Sam Adams beer on the menu but they said there was no Octoberfest. Too many items were missing on the menu to give a higher rating.
Stopped in today, June 15th, to treat my husband and this is probably one of the oddest dining experiences we’ve ever had. The tables were a huge wait, understandably with the holiday so we opted to sit in the bar. I do want to say the positives before I go into anything else. The salad I had was divine. I could eat that every day, truly. If I wasn’t going to another place after I would have ordered more to go. The bread (we had to request it? which seems super weird) was perfect. Crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken tortilla soup was the perfect amount of spice. The crème brûlée cheesecake and lemon blueberry bread pudding were to die for and I’m so disappointed I forgot to take a photo but we were so ready to leave by that point. I appreciated that the bartender let me try a zero alcohol wine before I made a final decision. We each ordered the three course meal (filet mignon and salmon with shrimp) and the main was delicious but the sides left much to be desired. Our server was also a bartender so that was a little tough once the bar started filling for her to be attentive. We asked for silverware and a gentlemen gave my husband a fork, no napkin and no knife. The thing I was absolutely most excited for when checking reviews here were the deviled eggs. I ordered them before my drink. When they arrived they were frozen solid. I understand prep work, absolutely a necessity on a busy day like Father’s Day. However, serving frozen deviled eggs and bacon was wild. We obviously sent them back but there was no offer to bring a new dish, so when our server came back we wanted to ensure they were not on our bill. There was also hair on our dishes. The atmosphere is loud and chaotic. We heard a huge crash of dishes more than once in the 1.5hrs we were there. The managers stopped at every table but ours. Honestly, I’d likely come back here again but take my food to go.
Great Service and a Perfectly Cooked Steak, But an Overall Mixed Experience We visited Firebird on a busy evening as a party of four and were quoted a 45-minute wait. We were happy to find open seats at the bar and decided to take them to avoid the wait. The bartender who served us was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The drinks arrived right away, which was a great start. However, the atmosphere was incredibly noisy; we had to shout to hear each other across the bar, which made conversation difficult. Another issue was the timing of our food. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes, both our appetizers and main courses were brought out at the same time. I ordered the Surf & Turf. The steak itself was a highlight, cooked perfectly to my requested temperature and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the lobster tail that accompanied it was a bit dry. Considering the $75 price point for this dish and the other issues with noise and food pacing, I left feeling that the overall experience didn't quite justify the cost. While there were some definite high points, particularly the service and the steak, the experience was ultimately a mixed bag.
After an intense meeting, we stopped here for a quick lunch with a group of about 10. We ordered a variety of drinks and dishes, but the service was disappointing from the start. The waitress mixed up our drinks—what was supposed to be Coke Zero was served as Cherry Coke, and our lime juice was mistaken for iced tea. Additionally, our food took a long time to arrive. I ordered a lobster tail that was clearly overcooked, resulting in a tough, dry dish that was hardly worth the $50 price tag. While one colleague’s fish tacos were decent, another’s pork chop was also overcooked and dry. Overall, the poor food preparation left us thoroughly disappointed.
Disappointed with the steak…. Queso and martini were solid but the steak was not good. They sent out a new one that was cooked under. The chefs were very upset because no one was running hands… a million better places to go. Skip!
I was excited to have date night here, heard a thousand great things. Had 7pm reservations, didn't have to wait to long. Once seated the service was impeccable, wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I was underwhelmed by my dinner choice. I got the 3 for 39.95. Caesar salad was fantastic, my steak was lacking flavor, I so was expecting a party in my mouth. I will probably give it another try and pick something else.
This place needs help. I literally would like to get up and leave but I'm here woth family. There are bugs flying around, my old fashion was served on crushed ice, my Caesar salad never came out. The waitress kept forgetting everything. The bread never showed up after being offered the bread. If you don't have it don't offer it. As far as my salad goes it was sitting on the shelf the whole time and now it's soggy . This dining experience has been a complete waist of time and money! You're better off at the olive garden. Soggy salad, bad drink, very inexperienced waitress, Bugs flying all over the food. Let's add more to this fiasco, now i get brought out the wrong dessert to my 3 course meal AND no one else is offered dessert in our party. Please stop using our time and money to train your waitresses. Very unprofessional establishment. I'm sure there are others that will agree to this review.
Very disappointing experience. We waited over an hour just to be served. When the food finally arrived, it was unacceptable. The grilled portobello tacos were served with raw portobellos, making them completely inedible. The steak tacos were extremely chewy, and despite the fact that we didn’t eat them, we were still charged. The salmon came out in chunks instead of a filet, and the sides were incorrect. Service throughout the meal was terrible, and the food was absolutely not worth the price. What made the experience even worse was watching an elderly gentleman using assisted walking canes be directed down steps, when there were clearly seating options available that would not have required stairs. That lack of awareness and care was shocking. Overall, poor service, poor food, and poor judgment. Shame on them.
