We had a 5:00 PM reservation on Father’s Day, and the entire evening was fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and relaxing, with music playing through the sound system that set just the right tone. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, and we were seated promptly after a short wait. Our server, Tristen, was excellent—attentive, personable, and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions with ease. Both the food and service exceeded our expectations. My wife ordered the grilled chicken Caprese, which was beautifully presented and full of rich, savory flavor. I had the tuna poke bowl, and it was just as delicious—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. For dessert, we had creme brulee and it was an outstanding, satisfying treat to end the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we look forward to returning soon.
Wow! A perfect experience all the way around. I came for the Vegan Poke Bowl which was amazing but who knew eating alone could be such a delight. I was suggested the outdoor seating at the bar which provided a sunny seat at a window with AC flowing out. Best of both worlds! The bartender, Courvoisier ( yes that’s his name) was a delight and incredibly professional. He suggested the Elderflower Sour which paired perfectly with my meal. Truly an uplifting experience.
What a great place to hangout and enjoy delicious food and some memorable cocktails. We asked different dishes to share and it didn’t not disappointed. Our waitress Sarah was very friendly and professional. I totally recommend the spicy chicken Samosas. Overall, great service and great dinner experience.
Stir is a very nice place. It's comfortable and easy going...the kind of place where you just want to relax and stay awhile. The bourbon 🥃 is good, the bar is amazing, and the oysters 🦪 are phenomenal! The menu is filled with wonderful choices from soup to nuts, and you will easily find something for everyone. The plate presentations are very inviting, and the tastes were equally pleasing. I highly recommend this establishment! 5 STARS! 🌟
Awesome vibe, attentive service - a great Chsttanooga experience.Truffle Fries, Oysters, Steak Frites, and Poke Bowl. These were all wonderful. The Frites were not cooked to order but were still great.
I had an amazing experience at Stir today! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and stylish, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. The food was absolutely delicious fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they put care into both quality and creativity. Our server, Kaylin (I hope I’m spelling that right!), truly made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, checking in at just the right times and making sure everything was perfect. Her positive energy and professionalism did not go unnoticed. Overall, Stir exceeded my expectations. Amazing food, great vibes, and top tier service. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!
We ate brunch here for New Years. The food was fantastic and our server, Jarrett, was phenomenal. He was so much fun and really made our experience wonderful. We started out with the whipped feta (outstanding) and my husband got the speciality butcher block burger. I got the veggie burger and we shared the eggnog crème brûlée. I'm certain I'll dream about that crème brûlée.
The food came quickly and was delicious! Bailey was a gem! She gave suggestions and recommendations on great food choices. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Fair prices for nice portions of food. Excellent presentation as you first eat with your eyes!
Blown away by Stir. Atmosphere, food, service, they nailed it. Our waiter was kind and helpful, helped us pick out the most popular things on the menu. We ended up getting oysters, a garden chicken, and a chicken picotta as well as the crème brûlée 😍 all of it was drool-worthy. The atmosphere was cool, very industrial modern with unfinished accents. They had all kinds of seats like high tops, regular tables, booths, bar seats. We didn’t have to wait more than 20 minutes for our table so not bad at all. Make sure you pay for your parking !!
Amazing late night dinner for two in this fun place! Waiter helped us with explaining the specialities and what they are famous for: craft ice, cocktails, and oysters. GET THE OYSTERS. These are some of the best I’ve had outside of the Pacific Northwest. Sweet, briney and tender. We had the Canadian ones per our waiters suggestion and were not disappointed. I had both mocktails and they were delicious. House made tonics were complex and balanced. Did not miss spirits in them as they both felt like fancy drinks. Main courses were steak. Steak frites was generous and perfectly done. The homemade steak sauce was delicious and had a smoky sweet undertone that lingered. The filet and goat cheese raviolis were sublime. Perfectly done steak and al dente ravioli made for the perfect pairing. I was delighted as I never can decide what I want to order and this gave me a taste of two dishes! The chocolate layer cake was dessert and was one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever had. The whipped cream and Carmel Sauce just put it over the top! Fun open dining area made for a nice atmosphere. Would come back again and again to this gem of a spot.
2nd time here. Very active on a Thursday night. Lots of professional groups. It was 2 of us but we were still able to carry on a conversation across the table. Lots of menu options, cocktails & food. This will always be my first choice when in town.
Stir, Chattanooga... We tried their delicious Cheeseburger Egg Rolls, Halibut Picata and Filet Mignon... With some craft cocktails, Elderflower Sour and the Road Less Taken! Incredible food and service... And a decor to match!
What a gem of a restaurant! Amazing atmosphere, professional friendly service (thanks John Luke we appreciate the hospitality), and tasty food and drinks. I had no idea Chattanooga was so cool! Ya can’t go wrong here at STIR!
The brunch here is phenomenal $5 mimosas and bloody Mary’s. They have a little buffet for appetizers and desserts. Kaylee was an amazing server! She was very knowledgeable with all my questions.
Enjoyed the meal, the Caesar salad was okay. The filet cooked perfectly and tasted good. The goat cheese ravioli was okay, I wish the pasta was cooked a little more. Overall, I would recommend it.
I chose STIR in Chattanooga to celebrate my graduation on Friday, Dec 12th, and it turned out to be the perfect place for such a special milestone. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and celebratory without ever being overwhelming. Scott, the manager, set the tone right away. He checked in with us personally, made sure everything was running smoothly, and genuinely seemed invested in making the evening memorable. That kind of leadership shows. Our server, Ella, was outstanding. She struck the perfect balance between friendly and professional—attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to offer great recommendations. Every detail she handled made the night feel effortless for us. The food and drinks were excellent, but what really made the experience stand out was the level of care from the staff. It felt like they were celebrating with us. If you’re looking for a place in Chattanooga to mark a special occasion, or just enjoy a great meal, STIR is absolutely worth it. My graduation dinner couldn’t have been better. Thank you Scott and Ella!!!!
We had a post-wedding dinner for two at STIR mid-day on a Sunday to find plenty of seating with the restaurant about half full. I selected the Tuna Poke Bowl with citrus soy-marinated tuna, rice cake, sliced kale, avocado, and other goodies. Our server, Teresa, brought over a special dipping sauce to add to the bowl. Everything was fresh, the tuna was a good portion for the money and the rice cake had an amazing flavor. Overall a good meal for a reasonable price right next to the old train station. The picture is from their website.
My wife and I came to STIR last Thursday before a show at the Comedy Catch. I had the Crispy Mahi Bowl, and she had the Chicken Chop Salad. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. She was very happy with her wine selection, and the Austin Mule was absolutely the best Moscow Mule I’ve ever had. And our waitress Jessica was fantastic. We’re coming back for another comedy show in September, and we will DEFINITELY be eating at STIR again. Thanks for a great night!!
We had the absolute best meal there last night. Our server,.Cutter was the best. He shared about the menu and offered suggestions about the entrees and drinks. Our food was delicious and served in a timely fashion. Cutter had a huge party to also attend to but he made sure to continue checking on us as well. We also enjoyed watching Bahama Alfred has he danced and shucked oysters. The other staff were kind and considerate. This is definitely a return visit as there were so many options we wanted to try. So happy we had Cutter as our server and we will definitely request him in yhe future. He truly made our dining experience awesome.
Good place We went on a Saturday at 5 pm aprox We were lucky and found a table, there is a parking at one side but you have to pay The place was full, I dont put 5 stars at service because sometimes we have to wait to ask or order thing but they were very kind To the kids they gave crayons and a sheet to play We order for the kids burger and grilled chicken, for the adults: Beer, red wine, steaks, fillers, Mac and cheese with lobster, tuna something Everything was very good, its a little expensive
Our favorite restaurant in Chattanooga! Amazing oyster bar, with a rotating variety of fresh ones from various locations! Our server, Sarah was an exceptional server, friendly, professional, and very kind! We will come back again asap!
AMAZING!! The service was great. Our server was so sweet and informative. The food and drinks were delicious. The atmosphere was calming and beautiful. We went for my birthday and I was extremely satisfied. The oysters were delicious. My son had a kids burger with fruit and fries and he loved it. I had a Caesar salad which was fresh and delicious with the fish tacos…. Literally amazing. My boyfriend had a burger as well and he was extremely happy about it. We will be back when we come to visit! Highly recommend. I didn’t take too many photos but attached what I did.
Ate here multiple times but I brought my nephew on July 4 weekend! We ate and drank to our hearts content! Service and food were great! Would definitely bring visitors as this gem of Chattanooga is worth sharing
✨ Absolutely loved our dinner at Stir in Chattanooga! We walked in with a party of six and were seated right away — no wait, which was such a nice surprise. The atmosphere is stylish and welcoming, with a fun, vibrant energy that made it perfect for our group night out. 🍗 I ordered the chicken Caprese and WOW — it was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. We also shared a chocolate cake for dessert that was rich, decadent, and totally worth the calories. And don’t miss the peach sangria — it was super refreshing and the perfect summer sip! 🍑 From start to finish, our server was attentive and kind. The whole experience just felt easy and enjoyable. I’m honestly surprised I haven’t been here sooner! 📸 I posted some great pics from our visit, so if you’re reading this — please give them a like and follow my page! I’m trying to build up my local food adventures and would love your support. You’ll find more great Chattanooga spots on my page, too! Highly recommend Stir for a fun dinner out, a date night, or a celebration with friends. It’s definitely a new favorite!
Fantastic experience all around! Amazing food! Fresh and flavorful! Fun atmosphere! Friendly staff! The cheese grits are the best grits I’ve ever had! So much flavor which can be a struggle for grits sometimes. Not these! Delicious!
We had a wonderful dinner, and our server, Cutter, was top-notch. He was knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and gave fantastic recommendations. When my steak wasn’t cooked as requested, Cutter addressed the issue with professionalism, and the correction was made promptly. The atmosphere was lively but not overly loud, creating a pleasant ambiance. The food was reasonably priced for the quality and taste!
One of my favorite salmon dishes ever was had here. A must stop for anyone visiting Chattanooga. I also really enjoyed the outdoor seating area and staff was great.
Everything was delicious, I especially enjoyed the seafood salad. Even the cocktail I ordered impressed me! The shrimp were a bit pricey per quantity but they were very tasty nonetheless and I enjoyed their cocktail sauce.
Amazing bar. Exceptional restaurant. Brunch, lunch dinner or just drinks. Stir has the atmosphere you want. Reservations recommended for prime dinner hours but 30 minutes goes by very quickly at the full service bar.
Just want to send this amazing restaurant a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts for an absolutely magical evening! The food was incredible, the atmosphere was warm and vibrant, and the service was truly exceptional. This restaurant will forever hold a special place in our hearts, as it’s where my fiancé surprised me with a proposal I’ll never forget. What made it even more special was the kindness and joy shared by the staff and fellow guests, who celebrated this beautiful moment with us. We are so grateful for the great energy that filled the room that night. Thank you for being part of such a once-in-a-lifetime memory for us!
Kyla was absolutely amazing! From the moment we were seated at STIR, she made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. She was attentive without being overbearing, incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu—her recommendations were spot on. Our drinks were perfect, the timing of everything was seamless, and she checked in at all the right moments. You can truly tell Kyla takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about her guests’ experience. She turned a great meal into an exceptional one. We will absolutely be asking for her again—STIR is lucky to have her!
Stir in Chattanooga, TN was amazing! The food was fresh and full of flavor. The lobster crab cakes are a MUST try absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere and great service. We’ll definitely be back!
I’ve been coming for a birthday brunch for the past 3 years. Emma our server, made it really special for me this year with her kind works and birthday wishes. She was so sweet and the service was exceptional. She was very attentive and efficient. It was perfect. I got the Brunch Steak and Frites, with an extra side of Broccoli. I tried the Creme Brûlée as dessert and it was phenomenal.
I cannot say enough good about this restaurant. I planned a surprise party for my husband here in their private room, and the staff were so incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. They were accommodating to every concern I brought up and went above and beyond. The food and service during the party were also top notch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very, very happy with our experience here!!
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Located just outside the Chattanooga Choo-choo this is close to several entertainment venues. I was even at Stir for the soft opening for close friends and family. Can't praise this place enough. Stir is the place that introduced me to specialty ice back in the day. Still working on perfecting my own crystal clear spherical ice and almost there.
Ella was absolutely amazing during our brunch at STIR! From the moment we sat down, she was so sweet, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She gave the best food recommendations - everything she suggested was incredible and made the experience even better. Our drinks were always full, timing was perfect, and her positive energy really stood out. She made brunch feel special and effortless. We’ll definitely be back and hope to have Ella again!
Five stars all the way! The food at stir is consistently delicious! We tried the chicken piccata and it was easily the highlight of our week. A huge shoutout to our server, Alexandria, who made us feel right at home. She was super quick with the drinks and had a great energy that made the whole meal even more enjoyable. Great food and even better service—highly recommend!"
First time eating here & it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I decided to go for the Baja omelette with medium-well steak, fresh fruit and a side of breakfast potatoes. I have always despised omelettes but THIS omelette?! BEST I HAVE EVER HAD HANDS DOWN!!! I am in my first trimester and this plate of food was probably the BEST MEAL I have had in 7 weeks. I will definitely be back. Riley was such a kind, attentive server and we thoroughly enjoyed his service in our large party this morning. 10/10. The live music was a plus!
You most reserve a booth in advance, you pay for parking everywhere in downtown except Sunday. My cheeseburger was huge, good and I couldn't eat it all. Our appetizer was two small lobster cakes were tasty and costly! My wife's dinner shrimps and grits she said weren't too tasty! This cause the lower score. Our sweet tea was good.
Fun place! Food was all right. I wasn't overly impressed but I definitely was happy with the decision for dinner.
Very cool and hip place. Chicken was cooked perfectly with the exception of a little too salty. Waffles and syrup were delicious but syrup was cold to the point that the waffle were cold in spots. Regular black coffee with absolutely luscious. My waitress was excellent. One of the two girls at the reception was so so. Live music was great! The bathrooms were nice and clean.
I was going back and forth between 4 or 5 stars and ultimately landed on 4 because the steak frites was good but didn’t stand out to me. The fries weren’t my favorite and were floppy. My server Amy was wonderful and provided another option instead of the fries. Apparently the fish is amazing; the guy at the table next to me couldn’t stop talking about it.
The Great and Not so Great My wife and I stopped in for a drink and appetizer and sat at the bar. Our bartender, James, did an excellent job with both banter and drink prep. We ordered the truffle fries as an app. The fries were beyond disappointing. They were limp and had little flavor. Most restaurants use a double fry technique to achieve crispness so I was surprised that this seemed amateurish. My only other complaint is that the bar counter did not appear to be wiped down and I never saw anyone do this while I was there. This small touch would help. Atmosphere was great and service was great except for the dirty counter. A few little changes could make this place even better.
Some of the best food I've had in the area slightly soured by less than stellar service. The food overall focuses on quality over quantity. This is not the place to go if you want "a substantial meal" or a high volume meal. That said, everything I had tonight was next level in terms of the flavors and textures. The seafood in particular. The raw fish here is among the highest grades you can practically buy in this region. Just like a lot of other experiences I've had with my group recently, the server was super cheerful but ultimately lacking in tangible service. Glasses were bone dry both in terms of alcohol and water at multiple points while the server checked in on adjacent tables. The temperature inside was very cold for some of us as well.
We tried Stir for brunch and overall had a great experience! The chicken and waffles absolutely slap—crispy, flavorful, and definitely the star of the show. The crab and shrimp eggs Benedict with potatoes was delicious, though the dish could’ve used a bit more seasoning, especially on the potatoes and a touch of salt on the eggs. The deviled egg flight was a miss for us—lacked flavor and not something we’d order again. The Bloody Mary was on point, and we really enjoyed the brunch bar concept—such a fun idea! It was pretty busy when we went, so the service was a bit slow, but nothing too frustrating. If you’re sitting outside, just be aware—it gets warm. Some fans or misters would be a great investment for the patio. Would definitely go back for those chicken and waffles and to try more from the menu!
Everything was nice. The bread served with the goatcheese beets peaches dish was extremely hard...like too hard. I ordered the salmon as medium to medium rare to avoid it being dry and it was perfect 👌. Hints of curry and was a nicely flavored dish. I would order it again. My friend ordered the white fish and it was so dry! So make sure to ask for it to be cooked less. The grilled oysters were not my favorite. The seasoning was odd and I do not recommend you buying it. The raw oysters however were fresh, delicate, and enjoyable. The drinks were perfect and tasty. I ordered the espresso martini as a pick me up. Super delicious! Sever was amazing too. Atmosphere and patrons was casual. Not what I expected.
Beautifully decorated and friendly service. On the other hand, the only thing that impressed us was the cheesy grits. Between the hamburger and the roast beef sandwich there was not anything to write home about. My son got the sliders, they had good flavor but the bread was super soggy.
Should have researched this place better. I thought it was a more upscale restaurant than it is. Stir is shorts and t-shirt casual. It was very loud. Our waitress was either way over extended or just bad, I'm not sure which. Our service was very slow from drinks to the food. My wife and I both had the filet. I won't say it was tough, but a knife was required and you didn't want to put a large bite in your mouth. I don't think it had any seasoning. All said and done, our check was almost $180 and I've had much better food and service at Outback. Please read my other reviews. I can't remember leaving a review similar to this before and I don't easily leave this one.
Made reservations for New Years. The service was excellent but the food was not great. I ordered the filet with house made ravioli. The steak was awesome but everything else was cold and undercooked. It seemed like they were unprepared for the holiday rush. Maybe regular nights are better. The atmosphere was great. I’d be willing to try again on a normal night.
I would like to start off with saying our server was phenomenal and was very on top of her game. I don’t remember her name but she was blonde with dreads. The crab bisque was splendid and the caprice was delicious. However the 65 dollar steak was so full of gristle, completely unseasoned and seemed to heavily rely on you using the sauce that came with it to piggy back the lack of flavor and cooked incorrectly, that a guiding hand seems to be needed in the kitchen. I ordered a filet to replace it and while it was good was also not something I would ever order again. I would gladly post if requested a 13 dollar sirloin that would blow both of these cuts of meat out of the water. The building itself seems to come off as an upscale old city establishment, but I would avoid having any sort of business meeting or celebration here. This would be a great place to have a drink from their spectacular thought out drink menu to catch up with friends, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything other than that.
